Both main characters have had a terrible relationship recently and are coming to terms with it. They meet in a Wisconsin lake town where she is just starting a new job after a time in Australia. The characters are terrific and the backstories fill their details out nicely. The locale was perfect as I understand the dynamic of a small town in the midwest. This is a fun story with a lot of banter and good times. Perfect book for a downer day or a bad day at work. It will bring many smiles and laughs your way and cheer you up.

The Cover: Cute and fits the story. Font choices and placements are well done. A little unsure about the color used for the title, but I am unsure what would have made a better choice.
The Plot: It’s seamless without leaks and holes, which is awesome. I only questioned this one lapse in judgment that Courtney made, but I won’t say anything else because of spoilers. I simply didn’t believe that the Courtney we’d come to know would make that choice that risked everything.
The Characters: I liked them all—even Courtney’s ex-boyfriend. Wait, except for Nick’s ex and the women over the years who found him lacking for not becoming a doctor. I don’t like those kinds of people where what a person does as a profession is more important than who they are. Nick’s dad comes pretty close to fitting in that category and just manages to redeem himself. Side characters are a joy, and they never overtake the main story. Ash the Cat needed his own POV.
The Setting: Door County, Wisconsin which is a beautiful place. The author does an excellent job of painting a word picture that makes you want to visit. Lake Michigan is an impressive lake and full of unique energy.
Final Thoughts: 4 Stars from me. It would have been 5 except for Courtney’s one lapse in judgment that I felt was plot-driven and not character-driven. I do want to read the rest of the series!
This is my first experience with this author and I have to say it was a very pleasant one. I will certainly be looking for more of her books in the future! This is a sweet and clean story about second chances in love. Nick and Courtney were a great couple and had undeniable chemistry. Both have been burned in love before and were reluctant to trust again. This book will bring you plenty of smiles as you read their story. I would definitely recommend!

I enjoyed this sweet clean HEA! I enjoyed the inner thoughts of both main characters, kept me on my toes as to wondering what they’d decide to do next. Some parts of the story seemed a bit drawn out but for the most part kept my interest. I enjoyed the scene when Courtney met Nick’s family. Talk about awkward. Overall great first book to the series and I look forward to the next books to come out.
The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages. The storyline is well written and developed.

Nick Bingham works as an adventure guide and volunteers as a search and rescue medic going places where an ambulance can’t go and carries them out. He was a medical student until he realized it isn’t what he wanted in life so he dropped out and is now doing what he loves to do. Courtney Price is a travel writer who has just landed a job in Heritage Bay. She has just flown in from Australia and with everything going wrong at the moment, she is a day late showing up for her first day at work. She went to Australia to get away after catching her boyfriend of a year cheating on her with her roommate. As Nick had a bad experience with his ex-girlfriend, he had trust issues . His ex only wanted him when he was to be a doctor and bringing in lots of money and prestige. Needless to say, trust issues were put to the test. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
This story is absolute bliss.
The story follows Nick and Courtney. Courtney is a travel writer coming from Australia. Nick is a dropout med student. Both have broken hearts. When meeting at one of the places Courtney has to write about, they both feel an attraction. After going on a couple of dates, they start enjoying the company of each other. Will their secrets tear them apart.
I loved this clean romance with such genuine feelings. The problems felt realistic. This is on my top 25. It is a page-turner for sure. I felt everything Courtney felt and related to Nick. It was a fun book to read.
