Dear Little Miss Doppelganger,I know you think you’re clever, stealing my life and my best friend. And you might’ve succeeded if I’d died after you marooned me.But guess what? I found a way off this godforsaken world, and now I’m coming for you. There’s no where or when I can’t reach. So, if you value your existence, I suggest you leave my ship, friends, and family alone this instant. I promise if … ship, friends, and family alone this instant. I promise if you do, that’ll be the end of it.
I’d rather be plotting my next dig while sipping root beer anyway.
But if you insist on pretending to be me…
Well, all bets are off, and most important of all, I’ll make sure you never get a Viking funeral.
Love,
The Real Dakota Adams

In this newest installment of the Dakota Adams series, we resume our journey with the Kibnali, Jack, Daphne and not one, but two Dakotas. Double the trouble, double the fun, right? Along the way, we are joined by an AI salesman named Rummy and a quirky repair droid, X-45. Hilarity ensues. Hijinks abound. Naturally, trouble finds the crew. Or maybe it’s just Dakota that finds trouble. Either way, this latest chapter is a great addition to the saga and a must read. Thank you, Galen Surlak Ramsey, for this arc, so that I may leave an unbiased review.
Following Dakota and Tolby again as they race across the universe. This time we are following Dakota as she races to catch up with Tolby and her friends as they have run off with her clone, thinking that it’s her. Along the way she makes new friends, blows more things up, and leaves a trail of disaster in her wake, as usual haha. Once she catches up with them and they figure out who’s who another disaster befalls our band of heroes and they are off to save the world again, this time from AO as he tries to wipe the remaining Kibnali off the face of the universe.
I feel like Dakota and Tolby have finally come full circle and that if they settle down here that things will relatively go back to normal for them. Though who are we kidding? Dakota will never settle down and we know another adventure will likely be on the horizon soon. I seriously love this series. It’s funny, fast paced, and engaging. Such a great series and it’s an easy read.
Dakota is back (in more ways that one) in another time and space hopping adventure of epic proportions full of geek culture references that are just a little off, near death experiences, and mind blowing sales pitches. (Rummy kinda grows on you). Full of quirky characters and bizarre situations, not to mention tapioca brain, this book has no shortage of excitement, but is a bit less manic than the previous book. The slightly less frentic pace is a good thing IMO as I thought this was one of the strongest books in the series so far.
A thoroughly enjoyable light read, this is a story that doesn’t take itself too seriously and isn’t afraid to chase squirrels – like Dakota seriously has focus issues. Even when her life is on the line her attention wanders, except when she is in hyper-focus mode in which case nothing can get through to her. There was a sweet moment with Toby and a new side of Daphne revealed – who really needs to work on those decimal points! Such a fun crew – well, mostly. The ones who aren’t trying to kill Dakota anyway 😉
This is book 4 in the Dakota Adams book and drops right into a scene from a previous book, but from a different perspective. The primary enemy in this book was also previously established. Theoretically I guess you could go in blind to this one like newly awakened Dakota who missed the last bit but you might still get lost when she catches up with her crew. Highly recommend reading this series in order.
