They say the hottest ones are the craziest.I got myself into this mess. What started as a little harmless fun with the boss turns south when the man whispers another woman’s name with his face between my legs.Things get more weird when he confesses to being Dorian Gray. THAT Dorian Gray. Immortal Bad Boy, creepy picture—which turns out to be a lot more science than science fiction.Do I give him … fiction.
Do I give him another shot? A man with 150 years experience might teach me a thing or two.
After all, he is the original Mr. Gray.

An amazing twist on one of my favorite books, The Picture of Dorian Gray. In this, Ms Corwin invites the reader to imagine Gray’s life if he existed today and she introduces us to a tortured soul trapped in a perfect body that just won’t die. This could drive anyone mad. Personally, I found the book to be refreshingly original, despite the familiarity of well-known character, much like reuniting with dear friends I hadn’t seen in a long time, just to find they’re doing better than ever.
Dorian Gray has lived more many years, now in present day Paris, he runs into Isobel. She reminds him of his past, but is he only drawn to her because she reminds him of Sybil? Isobel falls for Gray even after he tells her of his true nature. I really enjoyed this story and the hurdles that these two have to go through to try and make it work. But with Dorian going insane and Izzy’s brother trying to keep her away from Gray, will they be able to work it out in the end?
I loved this great reimagining on the Dorian Grey story. Both Dorian and Izzy were fully three-dimensional and just loads of fun to read. I was able to sit down and read this book in one sitting I couldn’t put it down. If you love your books with sinfully hot descriptive sex scenes this is the book for you. They’re not over done either. Just where the story needs them. The romance leaves you feeling warm all over, and the sex has you on fire. All in all, it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend it.
A take on the Dorian Gray story with a fun twist
Wasn’t what I expected,
I didn’t like this story so I didn’t finish reading it.
Interesting play on Shades of Gray. Not what I expected.
Loved this unique take on the main character Dorian, and the romance he has with Izzy. Although I have never read the book this character comes from, but have seen bits and pieces of the movie, I prefer this option.
Monica Corwin never disappoints. Just as you think she’s reached a genre limit, she knocks another out of the park. Isobel is spunky, driven and a solid lead. Mr. Gray has his everlasting issues and centuries old demons. There’s courting, stalking, simple romance, a rambunctious sibling, and realistic life issues. Monica rolls it all into a nice neat little bundle of erotic, frustrating and victorious joy. Do not fret, if you have missed the previous editions of Mr. Gray’s adventures……Monica provides adequate background and personal stories to quickly bring you into the here-and-now of this story. I’m on the edge of my seat awaiting their futur
I received an Advanced Review Copy for my review of this book.
“One Shade of Gray” is not some gimmicky retelling of The Picture of Dorian Gray. If Oscar Wilde drew his Dorian as a map of the new world, there would be an edge of the map that says “Here There Be Monsters.”
In “One Shade of Gray,” Monica Corwin finishes the map and takes Dorian in to the new world, the modern world–OUR world.
The characters are engaging from the first page and to the last page, we grow with the characters. It is evident from the telling of this tale that there was much that happened to Mr. Gray after Oscar Wilde left him. This is the story that starts after that one ends.
No picture of Dorian Gray would be complete without a level of sexy debauchery. The level in this book is steamy. However, there is nothing about the erotic scenes that pulls the reader out of the story. They are necessary to give us a full image of Dorian and his newfound love with an old familiar face.
If you have read any of Monica Corwin’s previous works, you are in for a delicious treat. “One Shade of Gray” may well be her best book yet. More than anything, it is clear from the writing that the author spent some time getting to know these characters and the result is as much a picture of her passion to them as it is the beautiful tale of Dorian and Izzy. The growth is evident in the full characters and rich scenes that we are greeted with in this tale.
Drama, passion, intrigue, and a side of Dorian Gray we have yet to see.
My only question is, when do we get a book about Jake?
