Hannah Michaelson wants nothing more than a fresh start and a safe place to stay. The only problem? She’s stranded roadside in a small town in the middle of winter. Even worse? Her sister’s baby is asleep in the back seat. Carter Mitchell has one goal in life—to be the best mechanic he can be while running a successful shop. That, and to avoid love at all costs. But when his family calls on him … calls on him to help a distressed woman on the side of the road, he doesn’t hesitate. Certain that he can stay strong in the face of the stranger’s beauty, he agrees to help.
Soon enough, the rugged mechanic realizes there’s more to Hannah’s extended stay in Maple Glen than he realized. His aunt is playing matchmaker again, but there’s something Hannah isn’t telling him.

Another great HEA by Christina Burtrum! I really want to go back and read the other stories in this series and hear their HEAs. This story wasn’t drawn out, just short and sweet. The narrator was fantastic, enjoyable to listen to and, did well with the various voices. I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
(3.5 stars) – though at first something doesn’t quite add up
I didn’t realize this was book 6 of a series, and while it worked just fine as a standalone, it was clear that knowing the stories of the secondary characters would make this a richer story.
Hannah is heading to her friend’s house with her 6 mo old niece for a visit when her car breaks down. She’s helped out by a family passing by in their car. The wife owns the town’s B&B, and her brother owns a car shop so they are perfectly positioned to help her.
Carter finds himself attracted to Hannah & ends up spending time with her, but Hannah is hiding several secrets.
The story is really sweet. They fall for each other kind of fast, & it’s unlikely that the business owners wouldn’t have secured some form of payment in advance, but the story itself is really touching
*Clean romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic
This is a sweet story about Hannah saving her sister’s baby & finding love in a small town. I love Ms. Hoopes’s reading of the book. She does a fabulous job. I received a free copy. This is my voluntary review.
I love the characters and the plot line in this story. Hannah & Carter are great and the Mitchell family is wonderful. I believe this is the first book in the series I have read. The narrator knows how to tell the story and brings the characters to life. The only thing I found confusing was the timeline. Who takes a month to fix a car? and how could Hannah even afford to stay a bed & breakfast for a month? Although the developing relationship was sweet, the pain that Hannah expressed to Carter during the reveal brought tears to my eyes.
I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. This book is narrated beautifully by Lorana Hoopes. This is my first book by Christina Butrum. It was charming, beautifully written, and hopelessly romantic. This is book #6 in the Maple Glen romance series. i recommend listening to this book.
Really enjoyed this sweet, clean, small town romance. The Mitchell family dynamics were great and you could just feel the love thru their bantering. I also love Hannah’s sense of duty and of course love for her niece. Also the love for a wayward sister. This is the first book I’ve listened to/read from this author and it won’t be my last.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.
There are so many feels in this book. Carter knows what he wants until Hannah stops in his life. Hannah is struggling to start new but still worry about her sister. This is a do not miss book. So sweet but with some very funny times.
This is a sweet heartwarming romance that will make you smile. I love this series and each story is a wonderful read. If you are looking for a feel good romance grab this book.I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest opinion. It was a joy to read.
I will never get tired of reading these sweet romances that Christina Butrum gives us! This was Carter’s story. I loved Carter and Hannah. So heart-warming and packs with the feels. 5 amazing stars from me!
I really liked this hook. I loved this sweet and sexy story. The characters and the chemistry was the icing on top. The writing blew me away.
I love Carter and Hannah. Carter’s family drags us right back into Maple Glen from the get go. The hospitality of Catie never fails to amaze me. I want to live here! For real. A town where everyone is quick to help without any guarantees. So trusting. Hannah is slow to open up and trust, can the Mitchell family, especially Carter, pull her out of her shell and crumble her walls?
Hannah was forced to think about what was best for her baby niece Grace when she was evicted from their apartment after her sister disappeared. Her friend Tara offers to take them in and Hannah’s car breaks down in Maple Glen on the way there. The townspeople take her and Grace in and welcome her into their hearts, especially mechanic Carter who falls hard. I was surprised that nothing was said about how Hannah supported herself and what she was going to do now that she was out of a job and running out of money. This was a clean YA romance.
A very unreliable car breaking down in the middle of nowhere with a baby on board! What made Hannah leave Chicago for her friend’s house hours away under these circumstances? She is found by Cassie, Grant and Alex who call Carter, the town mechanic, to tow her car in. They also set them up in a bed and breakfast owned by a sister. Carter is intrigued by Hannah and takes her to the coffee shop in Maple Glen. Well, Aunt Fran owns the coffee shop and is also the town matchmaker! What are Carter and Hannah in for with them being in Aunt Fran’s matchmaking sights?
Another wonderful Maple Glen story!
I received an advance copy of this book from the author and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
This was a really sweet rear. I enjoyed it very much.
I absolutely love this series by Christina Butrum.. This was another fun, sweet story. I was waiting for Carter’s story and I wasn’t disappointed. I fell in love with Hannah, Carter and Baby Grace’s journey. I went through all the feels. I cried, I laughed, I cheered them on. You always get a heartfelt story. I can’t wait to see what we get in the next installment. This is a must read.
Another heartwarming story by this wonderful Author. Hannah is going to stay with a friend when she gets stranded on the side of the road in a bad snow storm with Grace, who is her sister’s daughter in the back seat of her car. Her sister has disappeared and she can’t find her.
A nice couple stop to see if she needs help, and they call her brother who is a mechanic and he comes out with his tow truck to see if he can get the car going. No such luck, so he tows it in and promises to get it fixed, all the while wondering what it is about her that draws him to her, stuck out here with a baby no less. His sister and her husband own a B&B and offer for her and Grace to stay there while he fixes her car.
Hannah & Carter are falling in love without too much help from their sweet Aunt, who just so happens to be know as the town’s matchmaker, dear Aunt Fran.
The heartache Hannah has been through with her sister, ashamed and embarrassed, but Carter knew there was something about this Plus Two (Hannah and Grace) that tugged at his heart from the moment he met them. You’ll love this story and won’t want to put it down.
I just love when best laid plans get thrown off course. That’s what happens with Hannah. She is running and ends up in Maple Glen and it’s exactly what she needed. She ends up finding Carter and even though they are attracted to each other, they resist. But the pull is too much and she needs help. There’s some mystery here with what Hannah is hiding and her fear that her new friends will leave her behind. But I love seeing the support and community of a small town and how they help anyone in need.
Hannah was on her way to her friends place with her sister’s daughter Grace. Her car broke down and with very little money she was stuck. Until a Ethan and Catie pulled up and called her a tow truck. Which was Carter, Catie’s brother. He had a long day but went out to help Hannah. They thing was there was something about Hannah that made him stop and look. Hannah is hiding a few secrets and is on her way to her friend’s Tara house to have a place to stay for a bit. She is worried that her soon to be friends will turn their backs on her once they find out the truth and she will be on her own. The thing is that Hannah and Carter have feelings for each other and not sure what to do. Will everyone turn their backs on her or will they hug her and help her to stay.
It was so nice to be taken back to the romantic whimsical town of Maple Glen with “One Plus Two”.
Christina Butrum has a way of drawing you in with a touching, heartfelt story that keeps you reading until you see how it ends.
The characters in this book do not disappoint and you will especially fall in love with Hannah and Grace right from the beginning. Oh yes! You cannot forget about Carter! He was one of my favorites. And who doesn’t love Fran, the town matchmaker?!
This can be read as stand alone, however the characters from the previous books are definitely part of the backstory.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for fair and honest review.
4 Stars.
I have loved this series from the beginning book. I was hooked and I knew that every matchmaking Fran did, was gonna melt my heart. This book melted my heart from the moment Hanna and Carter met when her car broke down. It’s sweet, loving, and a match made in heaven. Love comes when they least expect it and the troubles they endure always work out in the end. One series you will keep turning those pages and your emotions will come out as you read. I highly recommend Christina’s books to all. She is an exceptional writer who keeps you wanting more.
