This has good bones, just needs a good polish. As I first started reading it I thought, all righty then, we’re going to have fireworks, both good and bad. Excellent! That’s what captured my interest on this, as I browsed through books.
I do wish it would’ve stayed true to that course, and stuck more to their romance for as short as the book was.
It was still a good read, just not great. I really didn’t feel the HEA sigh that I love to feel after finishing a book.
I honestly thought, wow, Ajax makes this 180° change in his life for himself, and for Veda by extension, taking to heart what she, herself, preached, and by actually listening to her talk about her own dreams, melding it all together. Beautiful! All Veda could think is, it’s a ploy? She needed to get over herself and still needs some therapy because she is not over her own issues. Still so distrustful about Ajax and he never did anything wrong to her!
The good character and storyline development kept me turning the pages until the very last page! I look forward to reading more from this author!
The storyline line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
The characters are well developed and engaging and have chemistry throughout the pages. From rivals to lovers.

There is nothing worse than rivalry to put a wedge between people especially when it’s to do with stubborn old fathers, unfortunately for Veda and Ajax their fathers do hate each other. I really liked how at first we didn’t really know why Veda and Ajax’s fathers hated each other and then it all started to come out and you got a little torn over who to feel bad for but also frustrated about how stubborn old men can be as it put so much pressure on them. This is not only a story about falling in love, but also dealing with family grudges, lies, mistrust, losses and moving on which keeps you captivated until the end.

This is the second book in the About that Night series, it can be read as a standalone story.
Ajax and Veda have a wonderful enemies to lovers romance, they have known each other forever and now after one night…..
They are both really wonderful characters with plenty of chemistry between them. There is plenty of drama and emotion in this story.
A modern day version of the Hatfields and the McCoys
Robyn writes a steamy romance about Veda and Ajax and their family feud and Ajax’s career interfering with their having any chance of a future together. Ajax not only has to deal with his a catastrophe with his stables, he finds the time to go after Veda to give their relationship a chance. I read this book in one sitting hoping the feud will end but that was just one part of the problem. The 2nd problem of Ajax’s career seems insurmountable or is it? You have to read to find out, and will thoroughly enjoy the ending!
Book two in the About That Night series. I enjoyed reading horse breeder Ajax Rawson and Veda Darnel’s story and seeing them get together. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I do not know what this author had done but I can not seem to keep away from her characters and words which normal I do not read too many of contemporary with rich etc. But I do like a good one that carries a challenge to see where it goes. In this we will watch a match between Ajax and Veda with chemistry and rumors heading the way. The threads of intrigue adds the spice I delight in a romance with the characters keeping my attention also. We get the whole ball of wax with this one so I guess that is one big reason I could not resist.
Ajax and Veda grew up together. Ajax has always loved being single and able to ride his horses and do what he wants. He runs into Veda and he wants her bad but he shouldn’t since her family is his family’s biggest rival and competitor. Veda sleeps with Ajax and their relationship heats up until years of bad blood and accusations surface. Can they even have a relationship or was it doomed before they see each other? Really enjoyed the story and was great relaxing read.

While this book was a pretty good read for some reasons it fell flat in parts I found I was skimming along in parts other parts kept my attention Think it just needs a do over.
They should be enemies after all she is the daughter of his biggest rival but for some reason Ajax Rawson can’t walk away from Veda Darnel. Can they have a future together or is there too much bad blood and conspiracies between their families for them to ever have a chance of a HEA You will need to read to see
Oh why, oh why, oh why did I bother?
I skimmed more than I actually read. It was uninspiring and lacked that something something to immerse me in this family rivalry type of romance. It was all too instant and too dull and boring for my liking. I’ll probably forget I even read this by the end of the day.
4 1/2 STARS!
Undeniable passion! With the second book in her About That Night series, Robyn Grady brings us a story of forbidden romance in ONE NIGHT WITH HIS RIVAL. The characters were easy to like and the story line pulled me in quickly.
Ajax is a kindhearted businessman who isn’t afraid to show his softer side to the woman he is quickly falling for.
Veda tries to fight their connection because everybody knows that their father’s will never get along … but temptation is too strong!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast paced romance between two rivals where the family builds a strong background in the story line.
Veda and Grady family has been rivals since the time they were young, they had a one night stand didnt expected to see each other. They both had a painful past but they are trying to coming together even with the obstacles of their families. I really liked this story.
