Notorious whip Giles Langford is surprised to learn his blacksmith is a girl, shocked to realize she’s the out-of-his-league sister of a duke, and horrified to discover he’s fallen in love with the impossible-to-tame woman anyway. With no money and no title, Giles has nothing to offer but his heart…Felicity Sutton knows poverty firsthand, and she’s never going back. She might miss the old … miss the old smithy, but not the relentless desperation of no home and an empty belly. Of course she’ll accept the stability of a wealthy ton suitor. As for the penniless daredevil she loves, well… They can share one night to remember.

Races, a smithy, and disguises make Felicity’s story such a unique one. The moment the met and were forced to work together there was a spark between them and it got stronger as every day went by. Anyone that saw them together knew they were meant to be together, but it wasn’t until that race that they both knew. The scene in the club was one of the best ever! This story is one of my top favorites ever.
Felicity has dreams of starting a charity to help children and only one man will make her brother happy and support her dream. But once she meets Giles her heart changes her plans. I love her from the first time she was introduced in this series. Her eyes are opened to a different way of life that could give her the best of both worlds.
Giles may not have a title or the money of the ton, but he lives a comfortable life. He shows Felicity that she can have what her heart wants without giving up true self. I loved him more and more every time he raised her up with his works and how he was with his parents.

Truly original story of essentially working classes. Erica has crafted an exciting story of acceptance and equality between the sexes. I think this is her best book yet! Her crafting of the carriage race is one of the best scenes I have ever read!
Giles Langford has been given the title The Curricle King by the patrons of The Wicked Duke. He is an excellent blacksmith and wins all his races. He is one of the favorite patrons of The Wicked Duke, a unique pub that welcomes all no matter their position in society. His business has boomed since being favored by the Duke of Colehaven and others in high society.
Lady Felicity Sutton is the sister to Cole. They were orphans who grew up in poverty until her brother unexpectedly inherits the dukedom. Whey worked in a blacksmith shop to be able to eat as children. Felicity loved the work and had a real talent for it even though society in this era didn’t accept woman working in a man’s field, much less a Lady. While Felicity is thrilled for her brother and the opportunities they now have to help unfortunate children, she misses her old work. She still keeps Cole’s carriages in tip-top shape although it’s a huge secret. Felicity’s goal in life now is to marry a man with lots of money and title so she can set up a charitable foundation to help impoverished children. She knows she won’t marry for love. It’s a dream she’s given up after 6 seasons of searching. It seems titled gentlemen balk at giving up their money to charity. When Cole challenges arrogant blowhard Silas Wiltchurch to a race to shut him up, he introduces Felicity to Giles so they can get his carriage in the best condition for the race as both of them are the best mechanics he knows.
This is when the story really gets good. Giles quickly learns Felicity has a gift for mechanics just like he does. He’s the first man in her life, besides her brother, who accepts who she really is. He sees her, and falls helplessly in love as they spend time together getting Coles carriage in better than perfect shape. I think the scene with the carriage race is some of the best crafted words I have ever read, absolute perfection!

Truly enjoyed this story in the series. It is well written with action, drama and the characters are strong, interesting, believable. Felicity and Giles makes a great couple. He lets her be who she is and doesn’t try change her. I received an ARC copy and voluntarily leaving this review.
After struggling to connect with the characters in the last two installments of the Wicked Duke, I was so concerned that something was wrong with me and I was getting burned out on historical romances. Now, that may be the case, but what I truly needed was Felicity and Giles in my life. I was fond of Felicity in her brother’s book, but spending more time with her story has convinced me that she could be my best friend! I absolutely adored One Night to Remember.
Felicity being a lady mechanic with a penchant for wearing trousers spoke to my love of women masquerading as men. I had no problem understanding and sympathizing with her pursuit of a rich, titled gentleman to read her goals. Giles, with his soft spot for children living in the rough and egalitarian values, prompted laughter and a bit of swooning in this reader. For being a mechanic with little time for chasing the ladies, Giles was awfully romantic.
There is just so much to love about One Night to Remember but I definitely want to highlight Giles’s warm, loving, supportive family. I love how relaxed and open both parents were towards Felicity despite the limited amount of time Giles has spent working by her side.
Do yourself a favor and pick up One Night to Remember, settle into your favorite reading spot and get swept away by this delightful, quick romance. After that, if you haven’t read all the Wicked Dukes Club series then circle back so you get a chance to see Cole and his kitten again. I am so excited to see what Ridley and Burke come up with next for the beloved patrons of the Wicked Dukes Club!

One Night To Remember, by Erica Ridley, is book five in the Wicked Dukes Club series. Available for purchase 6-11-19, this is the story I’ve been waiting for, Giles Langford. I was interested in his character in the pervious books and my hope for his own tale came true.
Giles Langford, aka The Curricle King, is a respected blacksmith and a hell of a whip. His curricle, Baby, is like the wind, rushing by his opponents like a gale. He’s talented, clever, and never out of control during a race or in his smithy. He earns a lot of Benjamins racing gigs he’s souped-up for his clients. Giles even has his own fan club, women and men. It doesn’t hurt that he’s handsome and makes the ladies sigh. He has a pretty good life and is, mostly, content.
Lady Felicity Sutton has know poverty, hunger, fear of the future while worrying about today. She’s determined to never go hungry again and find a way to help other children in need. She thinks marrying a wealthy peer is the way to make her dreams come true. Turns out Felicity is a terrific mechanic, it’s how she and Giles meet. There’s a BIG race coming up & they’re determined to win it. Giles lets Felicity just be herself and she loves him for it. Giles has found a partner in life and he loves her for it. The forge is not the only thing hot when these two are in the smithy.
I found One Night To Remember to be a lovely story about learning to be yourself and finding that someone who lets you and loves you as you are. The next book, and end of the series, will be One Night Of Temptation by Darcy Burke. I’m waiting patiently. Happy reading.

ONE INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
OMG! Erica brings one exciting, fast paced, hard hitting, pulse racing, smooth flowing delight alive flawlessly. All the trials and tribulations brings all of your emotions together for one incredible experience. The drama, heartache, uncertainty and suspense bring this bad boy together brilliantly. Twists and turns abound along with a few glitches, bumps and bruises really set the stage with such realism you feel like your right there in middle ground zero with them. Amazing job Erica, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This is book 5 of the delightful Wicked Dukes Club series. The author always creates fascinating and appealing characters in fast pace and clever scenario written in an entertaining and humorous voice. This addition is no exception.
This is the story of Lady Felicity Sutton, sister of the Duke of Colehaven. To two of them had grown up in poverty, on the street, with Felicity disguised as a boy, so she could be with her brother, working at a smithy, which became a calling to her. After a number of deaths of distance relatives, they were plucked off the street, when Caleb (now called Cole) became the Duke of Colehaven. He has recently married in a love match and wants his sister to be as happy as he is. However, she has not forgotten the other street urchins that they grew up with and will sacrifice love for a wealthy husband who will allow her to start a charity to take care of the street children. Although she has had proposals, all have balked at signing a betrothal contract that included “permission for wife to contribute to charitable causes as she sees fit”. At 24, her prospects have dwindled down to one older man, Lord Raymore, who also is interested in helping the poor children and sits on the House of Lords’ Committe to Reform Child Labor with Cole. She still loves to tinker with carriages and curricles, which her brother indulges her to do in secret. Which is how she meets the Curricle King, Giles Langford. Cole wants to win a curricle race against the villain of the book, Silas Wiltchurch, and asks Giles to drive his curricle, but to also partner with Felicity in making adjustments to make it the best. Giles treats her like an equal and as they work together they fall in love. But she is a lady and he is a smithy. Will she sacrifice herself for the ability to help the children or realize that “true love” can accomplish anything together? My only question is why she never got together with Viola, who also lead a secret life.

ONE NIGHT TO REMEMBER is the fifth book in the Wicked Dukes Club series. Though each will stand on its own, it is better, IMHO, to enjoy the entire series.
Hands down, my favorite book in the series so far – and only one more with the chance to top it.
In a sort of reverse-Cinderella role, Giles Langford has won the heart of his Princess. Still, she feels that she must satisfy her brother by marrying for title and wealth.
I loved that he sets her heart free in their common interest in the blacksmith shop he owns. He sets her soul free when he allows her to fly in Baby, his carriage. She sets her own heart free when she sets aside titles and accepts his proposal! Sigh. This is love.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Felicity hadn’t been born to riches or title after her parents died all she had was her older brother Cole and they survived together doing what they must to stay alive. Which how she became an expert on carriage design. When Cole became a Duke everything changed she had to become a lady and marry well. She had two more weeks to be herself after getting her brothers carriage in the perfect racing form she would hang up her tools for the last time. Then her brother arranged for Giles Langford to aid them in getting ready for the race, Can the Lady remain a lady or can she keep her trousers and become a partner. I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review
I haven’t read a book by Ms Ridley and this one is no different. I love the way she makes her characters different and very non complaint with the times. Her books always flow beautifully and have you cheering for the characters. This one was a little different to the usual historical romance with the heroine lovely a lowly blacksmith and I loved it. The story was romantic and a real pleasure to read. I found it hard to put down, with the excitement of a race and the relationship of the two main characters. I also liked how the parents were brought into the story. There was a small sex scene that this reviewer skipped and it didn’t affect my enjoyment of this book. I received this book as an ARC and freely gave my review.
It was refreshing to read a book where all of the main characters genuinely liked each other. Everyone was trying to do what they thought was the “right” thing. I knew going in that there would be a HEA but was surprised how Erica Ridley pulled it off so seamlessly given Felicity’s overwhelming stubborness to hold to her belief in her self-imposed obligations. There is a fine line between angst and too much angst and this book skirted that line perfectly.
I received an ARC for my honest review of this book.
Oh, how I am enjoying this series. Each book is a stand-alone story, so no worries if you read them out of order. A tale of two people who are from different classes and with differing opinions on life and love, yet both of them share similar ideals and talents. After some misunderstanding, compassion and friendship bloom, passion ignites, excitement ensues, and we get a wonderful HEA. I received an advance copy of this book, and am happy to say that I highly recommend it!
Suspend Disbelief.
If you can look past Giles’ modern outlook to women and the unlikelihood of the entire story, then you will adore this romance. Felicity disliked the poverty and uncertainty of her childhood but being of a mechanical bent, loved the smithy work she did, disguised as a boy. On her brother’s elevation to the peerage she had to learn to be a lady and knows that once she marries, her time spent tinkering with carriages must come to an end. Her goal is to marry someone of wealth and influence, preferably someone of high rank and with a charitable nature so that he will support her wish to start a foundation for impoverished children. So that man is so NOT Giles Langford, Curricle King and coach smith. I found this book delightful.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Duke of Colehaven (from One for Seduction) has been challenged to carriage race, but wants his smithy, Giles Langford, to be the driver—think Indy 500 with “real” horsepower. Cole’s sister, Felicity Sutton, is Cole’s mechanic. Giles is at first uncertain that a girl could know as much as he does about carriages; he is quickly proven wrong. During the two weeks leading up to the race, Felicity and Giles spend lots of time together, including one night they will always remember. There is a lot of angst in this story because of the perception on both sides of what they need in a life partner. Can Felicity and Giles reconcile their hearts with their heads? Will their families approves of the choices that are made?
Lady Felicity has a secret. She actually has a few, but this one is more than interesting, it’s somewhat scandalous for a duke’s sister. She’s not just the duke’s sister, but she’s also his carriage mechanic. Not exactly the same as having a talent for needlepoint in the eyes of the stuffy, rule oriented English ton. Felicity is also rather long in the tooth at twenty four and is looking to marry, so this isn’t something she or her brother wants shared with society.
The duke has a bet with another society member, who happens to be a well known cheat, and he’s enlisted the aid of another talented carriage smithy and racer, Giles Langford. He’s the man everyone in town wishes they could be or be with, especially the ladies.
These two are to collaborate on this carriage over two weeks and Giles is to drive the carriage in the upcoming race, and Giles has been warned NOT to get involved with Felicity. But the two spend more and more time together and it’s during these moments they find that they have more in common than mechanics. Felicity has made a promise to herself as a result of her childhood, but must decide if that promise still holds true or if there is more than one way to fulfill it.
This is a lovely romance with an interesting plot, longing from both, and a group of colorful characters. It’s really entertaining.
I read this as an arc which affected my review in no way at all. My opinions are my own.
An awesome book. Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. Thanks!
My free opinion.
One Night to Remember is the fifth book in the Wicked Duke Club series. Each book is incredible and fun to read. This book is Giles and Felicity’s story. Lady Felicity’s brother, who is the Duke of Colehaven (from the first book), has entered a wager that his curricle would win in a race. The Duke of Colehaven hires Giles Langford, who is known as the “Curricle King,” to drive his curricle in the race and to work with Felicity to ensure he wins. Felicity hides her talents of being a smithy by dressing as a boy and working at Giles workshop. She is ready to give up her smithy work in order to marry a wealthy lord who will help her with her goal of creating charities to help children. Giles helps the neighborhood children by apprenticing them in his shop. He is impressed with Felicity’s talent and her charity goals but can’t help wanting to make Felicity a part of his life. Both characters are great but Giles was so sincere and sure of himself it was hard not to fall in love with his character. The book was well written, face paced and hard to put down. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, but am said it will be the last! It’s been such a fun series to read and I have enjoyed every book. I definitely recommend reading this book. Lady Felicity Sutton was at a ball and at her brother’s request her mission for tonight was to chant one of the unwed Lords preferably a Duke so that she could marry him. If she couldn’t get a Duke then she could have a Marquess but she wasn’t supposed to be drinking lemonade. And all she could think about was growing up with her brother the Duke of Coldhaven when they didn’t have anything nor did they know where their next meal would come from and they worked in the smithy. She had had six seasons and had been unable to make up her mind and it was now time to make the choice. She went into the retiring room and looked at them and mahogany table that had all the accoutrements that a lady exhausted by dancing might require and she heard a young debutante on her left said she was going to vomit then said she’d ruined yourself her saying she was going to vomit. Felicity gave her some advice she left the retiring room and went back out Felicity went out to try to get her waltzing partner to do something other than Walz with her and discovered that he was waltzing with the young lady she given a pep talk to. She then discovered that her brother was supposed to be in a Curricles race his wife didn’t want him to rise so he said he would get someone to raise for him. He sent a note to Giles Langford to come and see him one afternoon. Giles got there early and met Felicity who had designed her brother’s curricle cold first Giles and Felicity to work together on his curricle. To find out what happens with Felicity and the men in her life you have to read the book. And it’s a very good book…
Erica Ridley has pulled another hit! Giles and Felicity make an awesome couple. Felicity is a willful woman who is trying to make the best of the world she is in. Giles is the darling of the racing world. This series has been a delight to read. The characters are fascinating. They are witty and funny. I never get tired of reading them.
Witty, romantic and entertaining! Richly filled with loveable characters including Giles, his family, Lady Felicity, her family and the gents from the tavern! (And not so loveable folk!) Page-turning goodness of struggles of orphans and poverty, the Ton’s good and bad sides and the warmth and expectations of family. Excellent read!
Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.
