With no money and no title, Giles has nothing to offer but his heart…Felicity Sutton knows poverty firsthand, and she’s never going back. She might miss the old … miss the old smithy, but not the relentless desperation of no home and an empty belly. Of course she’ll accept the stability of a wealthy ton suitor. As for the penniless daredevil she loves, well… They can share one night to remember.

This was a quick, fun read and not what I expected from the book blurb. She wasn’t working in his smithy without him knowing she was a she. I enjoyed both of the lead characters, but was more drawn to Giles than Felicity – I think mostly because he was who he was and made no bones about it, but she was pretending to be something she wasn’t. I understand her pretending, but I was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to get past it. In the end, it would appear that there were no ramifications to their unequal union and that wouldn’t have been possible. All-in-all, I thoroughly enjoyed this fun read.
Giles Langford is known as the ‘Curricle King’ because of his racing prowess. He’s one of the most popular men in London, but he is neither rich nor titled. He owns a smithy that he has tripled in size from the days he worked it together with his father. He’s doing very well and is the preferred provider/maintainer of curricles and other carriages. He has no plans to marry, he’s just never found anyone with whom he wants to spend time and, he wants to have the kind of love his parents have.
Felicity Sutton is the sister of the Duke of Colehaven and she knows, first hand, just what poverty is because she’s lived it. Before her brother was found and named as the Duke, they had lived hand-to-mouth in the worst slums and to stay together, she had dressed as and pretended to be a boy. Now, she is expected to be a normal society miss – and she can play the game – she just longs to be who she really is and to help all of those children who are in the same predicament as she and her brother were. She has a plan to do that – she’ll marry the richest titled gentleman she can find and there will be a clause in her marriage agreement that will allow her to contribute to whatever charitable ventures she wishes. So far, none of the men have been willing to sign, but she has hopes for a certain marquess.
Felicity and Giles are first brought together because her brother has made a bet that his curricle will win in a dawn race. He wants Felicity (a gifted smithy herself) and Giles to work together to assure that his curricle is in top shape and ready to win. They are a bit wary of each other at first, but it doesn’t take long before they are very comfortable with each other and enjoying being together. Add in a bit of strife, an injury and a surprising race ending and – well – we’re well on our way to a HEA.
It was definitely a fun read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
ONE NIGHT TO REMEMBER by Erica Ridley is book 5 in the Wicked Dukes Club Series. This is the story of Giles Langford and Felicity Sutton. This can be a standalone book if you wish to do this.
Felicity and her brother have know poverty, harsh conditions and no food. But now in the present day her brother is a Duke and poverty is a thing of the past but never far from her mind. So much so she feels she needs to make a good match at marriage to double ensure that she is away from such conditions again. But Felicity does have the goal to help other too. Giles has no titles but he is knows as the ‘Curricle King’ who is asked to help the Duke of Colehaven with his Curricle. The Duke of Colehaven has a race that he needs to win, so he puts Giles and his sister working closely together to make sure its in winning shape. Giles is put working closely with Felicity who is the Duke’s sister where their feelings start to grow.
Enjoy their story.
Fantastic story that not only gives us the romance we crave but also in a way that shows that not everyone aspires to be nobility. Felicity and Giles have great background stories that is brought out well in the narration. This is definitely a feel good story that you should read for the sheer joy of seeing the excitement of curricle racing, the winners (not in the traditional sense) and caring enough about the children to make a difference.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
One Night to Remember by Erica Ridley
Wicked Dukes Club #5
Believable? Perhaps not
Splendid story? Without a doubt
Did I enjoy it? Every word of it
Giles Langford and Felicity Sutton have much in common as far as their interest in carriage making goes but nothing at all in common in social status. Felicity’s brother, Duke of Colehaven, has a race to win and asks Giles to check out the mechanics of his vehicle and then drive drive it in the race BUT with the stipulation that Giles work side by side for two weeks with Felicity to ensure that his curricle will be the winner.
I adored Giles and his ability to accept Felicity for who she was and also his ability to encourage her to embrace being that person rather than the one she is trying to force herself into being. I found him to be lovable and giving and charming and really almost perfect. I found Felicity to be wise and loving and eager to help others while very focused on ensuring her future. With Felicity’s childhood being difficult it is easy to see why she would feel she has to choose a husband with a title and money but will it be enough once s he has met and spent time with Giles? Together Giles and Felicity are perfect and I could hardly wait for them to realize they were meant to be together!
I had a smile on my face reading this book and have a smile on my face as I write this review. Again, I doubt that Felicity’s story is one many if any women lived in the time period this book is set BUT it makes a splendid short read that gave me pleasure today.
I know this series is coming to an end soon and that makes me a bit sad. I have enjoyed every book in this series so far and eagerly wait to read Rector Hugh Tarleton’s story when it is ready.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Curricle King and Mechanic Aritsan aka Stable Lass
Lady Felicty is the sister of a duke and her last hope for marriage just chose another. She’s on the shelf with an enornous dowry. But she has mad skills elsewhere. As a mechaincal Artisan. She meets Giles Langford as Stable Lass.
Giles Langford owns a smithy. He’s a good man, taking in apprentices and is known as the Curricle King. He’s hired by the duke to work with (as partners) Lady Felicty.
Can love develop between the chasm of their classes and differences?
Because they really aren’t so different after all.
Highly recommend for a strong, smart heroine and a good man.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I enjoyed the story of Felicity and Giles in that two people from different social standings, the sister of a duke and a coach smith, come together to find love. The book is well written and entertaining. It is a great story, full of surprises and ending in love between Felicity and Giles. I would highly recommend this book as a great read and appropriate for most age groups.
This was an absolutely delightful book to read!! I thought it was such a unique story, with the heroine being a blacksmith, as well as trying to be a lady when not wearing men’s clothes! lol
I adored the hero, Giles Langford, and I loved the interactions between him and Felicity. He is so different from other men in that era who thought ladies had their place. He accepts and respects her for who she is.
Felicity Sutton is trying to find a Duke or Earl to marry, to please her brother as well as to have money to help the poor children and although she’s extremely attracted to Giles, he doesn’t have a title or great wealth.
There’s also a race to win and the race itself is so well written, I could just picture it all in my mind as I was reading:) Lots of excitement!! I really do think this one is my favorite of the series so far, although all the others have also been wonderful.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
By an accident of birth, the Duke of Colehaven and his sister Felicity find themselves transported from poverty to the upper echelons of society. The one thing that Felicity is certain of is that every day is a gift and even the smallest of pleasures is a privilege. She, in turn, would like to find ways to reach out to the children who are forced to work in foundries the way she did and to better their lives. Her wish-list for a husband is simple: one that is wealthy, with status and a willingness to allow her to start a charity. Felicity’s early years have given her skills not known amongst the other women of society, and thus when her brother Cole is challenged to a curricle race, he teams Felicity up with Giles Langford, the famous blacksmith, and whip to ensure that he has the best possible chance of winning. With her sights set on an advantageous marriage, Felicity tries to ignore her burgeoning feelings for Giles, and it takes an extraordinary set of circumstances to make her rethink her goals. Despite his background, Giles in a charming hero with a generous heart. Felicity has determination and strength of character. Together they have a dynamic that many people would love to have in their relationship. The novel is well written and lighthearted, making me laugh out loud at times, and definitely left me smiling. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Notorious whip Giles Langford aka The Curricle King is surprised to learn he’ll be working with Lady Felicity sister of the Duke of Colehaven on preparing a carriage for a curricle race, and horrified to discover he’s fallen in love with the impossible-to-tame woman anyway. Felicity Sutton knows poverty firsthand, and she’s never going back. She might miss the smithy, but not the relentless desperation of no home and an empty belly. Of course she’ll accept the stability of a wealthy ton suitor.
Another page turning enthralling read. The trope of the characters from different classes falling in love isn’t new but it tends to be a nobleman & a down at heels female here the tables are somewhat turned & it’s a society lady, even though she’s happier in breeches, & a blacksmith. I loved the different slant added to it that Felicity had known hardship & I was one happy reader. Strong characters & a well paced story meant I read the book in two sittings. I’m loving the books in this series & how well the two authors have meshed their stories.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
One Night to Remember (Wicked Dukes Club #5) by Erica Ridley …Thanks to Erica Ridley for allowing me to preview and review this book. This is another great addition to the WICKED DUKES CLUB series. Felicity Sutton (sister of Cole”Duke” and carriage mechanic) Giles Langford (Expert carriage mechanic and whip) She wants to please Cole and marry well hopefully a Duke…He wants to build his business and win races. There is plenty of action, angst, some laughs and steamy stuff all leading to a very HEA. I think Felicity and Giles are two of my favorites… I can’t wait for the last book in the series ONE NIGHT OF TEMPTATION by Darcy Burke …I highly recommend this series.
“One Night to Remember” by Erica Ridley
What a fun read. It is a short read… but not too short. I am guessing about 200 pages worth of Regency “ton” rule breaking, or at least rule bending ! I was lucky enough to be on the ARC review team… If you are a fan of Erica Ridley I am sure you will enjoy the time you spend with Cole, Felicity aka Felix, and Giles. I know I enjoyed my sojourn with these characters. If you have yet to spend a few hours with an Erica Ridley story… maybe this is the place to start. Happy Reading.
Felicity Sutton is the sister of the Duke of Colehaven & is living a full life with everything she ever wanted but is hasn’t always been this way. Cole & Felicity lost their parents early on in life & were force to the streets where they worked & learned at a smithy & then, surprisingly, her brother is named heir to the dukedom. She is now in her 6th Season & must find the security of a wealthy husband from the Ton who would allow & support her in establishing & running a charity for abandoned & needy children.
Giles Langdon aka the Curricle King is an impressive whip, heart-throb of the London females & people flock to his races. The Duke of Colehaven was one of Giles most important clients & 10 yrs. ago Cole had helped the smithy out from failure & Giles had forged some items for the Duke at no charge. Giles was shocked when he went to the Duke’s estate a found he employed a female blacksmith & even more shocking was the fact that she was Colehaven’s sister Felicity.
Erica Ridley, as always, has created a fun journey with lots of humor, wonderful characters, witty banter back & forth, romance & just a good time – it’s what I would call a “feel good” book without a lot of drama or angst.
I was gifted this ARC & I have happily given you my honest opinion of the book – you won’t be disappointed!
So here is the next-to-last book in this awesome series and Felicity’s story, the sister of Cole, the Duke from the first book.
This story can be read as a standalone, but read the previous books will not be lost as all the stories were awesome.
I confess I had a hard time at first to warm up for Felicity, I do understand when you have felt hunger and cold, loosing it could be dreadful, but she has very few risk to go back to her previous life, so why this hunting list for a wealthy and titled husband. Worst, to achieve her goal, she must hide and will have to bury her true self. Sure behind her prom and proper facade, she has a heart of gold, she wants to help others less fortunate but is selling her soul the good choice to achieve what she wants.
Giles Langston never doubted who he was and what he was looking for, with own two hands, he rose himself and extended his father’s business to a wealthy enterprise. But he is no blue-blood so Felicity dismisses him immediately.
As they come to work in close contact, each opens to the other, she is blunt about her requirements for a potential husband but she sees first hand with Giles that good can be done even by no lofty men.
Slowly she will question her objectives, as during her two weeks of association with him, she can be herself, not the Lady Felicity everyone expects to see as the sister of a Duke.
Giles is a good man, he is proud of what he achieved and will be happy to go on like this, but Felicity shows him the one thing his life seems to lack but will she find him enough.
A lovely read about a woman who might lose herself if she does not comprehend who she is before it is too late.
4,5 stars

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley & WebMotion in order to read and provide a voluntary and honest review, should I choose to do so.
This is the fifth book in the Wicked Dukes series, but stands pretty well alone if you haven’t read any of the rest. I haven’t, and I really had no trouble following along with the action.
I really enjoy the way Erica Ridley reaches for a far-fetched premise to create a really unusual character, and then somehow makes it fit absolutely perfectly into the ‘Regency world’. In this case, Lady Felicity is the sister of a duke, and she and her brother grew up poor before he unexpectedly inherited. She went from having nothing to having everything, and she still has a wide-eyed fascination with the world around her – at one point there’s a lovely line where she says to Giles, the hero, that she doesn’t know what it’s like ‘to have some of the things’. Her life has been one of extremes.
The most unlikely thing about Felicity is the one that makes her the most appealing, because she grew up in a smithy, pretended to be a boy most of her young life, and has an aptitude for carriagemaking far beyond the ordinary. When Giles Langford, the best carriagemaker and the best racing driver in London, is asked to work with Felicity by her brother, Giles can’t help but be fascinated. Soon enough he’s falling for her, but Felicity has plans for her future, plans that involve making an advantageous marriage for the best of reasons – because she wants to set up a charity to help indigent children. It’s a cause close to Giles’ heart, as well, so no matter how he feels, he has to let Felicity go. It’s the right thing to do.
Despite the implausible premise, this works so well as a romance. Giles and Felicity have absolutely everything in common, and it’s very easy to root for them. Not only that, but the author has obviously done her research into the intricacies of carriagemaking and carriage racing, and gets the subtleties of both across without ever boring the reader. I certainly learned a lot!
This is a charming read and one I’d highly recommend if you like unusual heroines, especially those with a scientific bent. Five stars.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book for review via NetGalley.
One Night to Remember is a novella in the Wicked Dukes Club series. A strong willed tomboy, Felicity Sutton is the sister of the Duke of Colehaven who has not forgot what it was to be poor and common. She loves to work on carriages but pretends to be a proper lady in society. Wanting to lift up the poor, she plans to marry a titled gentleman who will share her calling. Giles Langford is the Curricle King, the go to guy to fix your racing curricle and one heck of a racer. When the Duke makes a wager on a race, Giles and Felicity begin a partnership to make the Duke’s curricle the best it can be. Love is quick to follow as Felicity must decide between a man who loves her as she is and the expectations of society. The characters charm the reader and the story entertains. Like a little ray of sunshine, this book brings happiness and lifted spirits for a delightful read. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy form Netgalley.
Loved it!
This is now my favorite book in this series.

Standalone
HEA
Epilogue
I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC.
What if your dream was unattainable? To marry a titled, wealthy man who would allow her to allocate her funds to helping children who were growing up like she and her brother. Desperate, hungry and alone. But now that her brother had the title of Duke, he was pushing Felicity to find a match. I mean, this was only her sixth season and no gentleman had been amenable to allow her to do with her funds as she wished. She had her eye on her last chance and hopefully all would go well.
But when her brother wants his curricle ready for an upcoming race, he brings in Giles Langford, undeniably the best curricle mechanic there is around. But he also insists that Felicity work with Giles to make all goes well. You see she and her brother had grown up in a smity and she was really great herself.
As Felicity and Giles work together, there is an undeniable attraction. But he did not fit her ideal of the man she needed to marry! He thought she was too high above him, but they really seemed to have interest the same and wanted to help others. Could there be any hope?
Erica Ridley has created another Story to Remember in the wonderful Wicked Dukes series. Filled with delightful dialogue, humor and the push and pull of a romance waiting to happen! Prepare to get lost in this great story and smile and sigh as you make it to the end!!
This story was amazing. I loved Felicity’s yearning for freedom yet her need of a good match. When she works with Giles one her brothers carriage she feels in her element. But Giles doesn’t have a title. Now Felicity must choose love or a titled gentleman her brother approves of. I loved the racing and the background of Felicity and her brother. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I was on pins & needles through parts of this book while reading it. It was great to see Felicity have her own story. And what a wonderful story, it was so much fun to read, I read it in one sitting! I loved the chemistry between Giles & Felicity, they are perfect for each other in so many ways. I’m loving this series by Erica Ridley & Darcy Burke! I was given an advanced reader’s copy and I’m offering my honest opinion on this book.
