I’ve never met a Melissa McClone book I didn’t like. This boxed set is so good I’m not sure which is my favorite. You’ll love the happily-ever-afters!
There’s a smile hidden inside of every Melissa McClone novel. Behind all the crazy happenings and the clueless characters is a heartwarming story that delivers valuable lessons on life and love.
Fiance for the Night is sweet and sassy. Troy and Cassandra add a hint of sexy drizzled in humor. McClone takes a common place theme and makes it feel brand new with a delightful portrayal of a relationship of convenience. Both authors and author lighten your heart and uplift the spirit. Another winner has just been born.
A Little Bit Engaged makes complicated, simply irresistible and wildly entertaining. Brody and Cara find themselves in over their heads when a scandal disrupts their lives. Can these old friends keep their sanity while protecting their emotions from the fallout? As long as she writes, McClone will continue to be a one-click for me.
Love on the Slopes – Letting go of the past means taking control of the future. How is that possible when the past you’re trying to forget refuses to allow you to move on? To err is human. To forgive is hard. Love on the Slopes is about learning to forgive. McClone speeds full – throttle into the pain of heartache and the power of forgiveness. Brynn and Ryland have history. Each thought they had moved on, but their heart’s had other plans. Their path is a journey that blends sweet and sour. Can they turn bitterness into a forever kind of love?
This is a set of four books characters overlap but each book is complete on its own. Great characters and enjoyable stories. Recommend this box set and look forward to more.
loved this series great little romances
A box set with excellent books, sweet and fun!
I didn’t read these 4 books in the right order, but that’s okay as they’re all standalones. Although they do tie in together. They were all sweet and fairytaley! I loved them all! Very entertaining and I definitely recommend them!
I first read A Little Bit Engaged. An excellent book. So much fun to read! I just looooved it!
Then I went on towards Fiancé for the Night. A lovely fairytaley romance where fake might become real!
Then came book 2 The Wedding Lullaby. What a lovely story! Very enjoyable.
And I finished this box set with Love on the Slopes. Ryland isn’t all that likeable at first, but he learns. A heartwarming and emotional story.
I loved One Night to Forever Box Set. It was a sweet romance set to read. It was really nice having them all together to read. Haven’t found one of Melissa McClone’s books that I haven’t liked!!!. If you like sweet romance books, this is a must!!!!!
Finance for the Night – Cassie needs a fiance for just one night. Troy is intrigued when she asks him. I thought they were adorable and was hoping it turned into more than a fake engagement and lasted more than one night. I wish Cassie had stood up to her sister and ex – still don’t like those two. I liked the way the author developed the characters individually, as a couple and Cassie with her parents. A sweet book but definitely had some heat in it but nothing beyond kissing.
The Wedding Lullaby – I’ll admit I didn’t like how Laurel and Brett got together but they now have a forever connection. The story of how they fell in love after they are reunited I did like. These two are really each other’s strengths – complement or complete each other. Brett’s assistant was so funny – she needs her own book. It ended up being a sweet romance between two people who have more in common than they realize.
A Little Bit Engaged – I loved Cara, grew to like Brody, and still can’t stand Caitlin. Cara IMO really went above and beyond being a good sister and friend when she agreed to a fake engagement to Brody. Loved their love story – friends to forever is one of my favorite story lines. Her parents made me angry – I have twin daughters and I can’t imagine treating my daughters that way. Loved the ending but thought she forgave too soon. Her drama filled, self centered twin Caitlin IMO go off way to easy.
Love on the Slopes – Brynn has such heartache from her parents and Ryland. Her parents and especially her mom believe it or not, made me so aggravated. I didn’t really care for Ryland at first but the author did a great job of showing us how much he had truly changed before he ran into Brynn again. Don’t like when a person changes for another person. The story was about family, going for the gold, forgiveness, reconciliation, and new relationships. I was experiencing all kinds of emotions but the ending left me with a smile on my face.
Four touching and sweet romances that show how one night can lead to forever from fake engagements, pregnancy, a PR nightmare, and competitive sports. I loved the engaging characters and was totally involved in each story from beginning to end. This anthology is a must-read for anyone who enjoys well-crafted romances written with so much love and emotion, they will put a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. Don’t miss this box set by gifted author, Melissa McClone.
Four great stories all in one place. Each story is connected by the characters, who are great. I enjoyed each story and all the people that I got to hang with while reading this box set. Sometimes we think we have a good idea, but maybe things won’t turn out quite like we planned. Sometimes it turns out better. These folks have to deal with personal obstacles and some that are just thrown at them. You’ll have to read the stories to see how these play out. I hope that you enjoy these stories as much as I did. I received this book as an ARC from Book Funnel, but my opinion is my own.
Fiance for the Night is a well-written sweet romance. Think PG-PG 13 for a rating. Troy and Cassie are both very likable characters and are given enough background to understand their current goals and how they see the world. The plot has a few twists and turns and moves along at a quick pace. There’s a wonderful HEA and an emotionally satisfying epilogue.
The Wedding Lullaby
Brett and Laurel are both likable, well-developed characters. I enjoyed how they changed and grew. I loved Henry’s role in this book and hope that he gets his own story. The plot moves along at a quick pace. There’s an HEA and a touching epilogue.
A Little Bit Engaged
Cara, her gorgeous sister Caitlin, and Brody were childhood friends. Cara had been crushing on Brody for years. Caitlin and Brody became a-lister movie stars together and became a couple. Caitlin is a drama queen in more than just the movies. Brody and Cara had gotten her out of mess after mess. They agree to be fake engaged to help her this one last time. Cara and Brody were very likable characters. I loved Brody’s deep concern for how Cara was being hurt because of this fake engagement. One of my favorite characters besides the main couple was Loki, Cara’s cat. The plot had twists and turns and moved at a good pace. There are some scorching hot kisses, but nothing more. There’s a great HEA.
Love on the Slopes is a well-written, contemporary, sweet, sports romance. Ryder and Brynn were interesting characters. To start with, Ryder was a fairly despicable person with drunk hook-ups being his norm. After a serious accident, he turned his life around. I have a hard time liking a character who lived like he did; and he changed because of his desire to ski competitively again, not because it was the right way to live. With that said, he did become a caring, thoughtful partner for Brynn. The book moved at a good pace with the majority of the setting being a ski slope area. There is a very emotionally satisfying HEA.
I loved this book series, although there are characters connecting them together, they could be read each on their own. As with all of Melissa’s books I have read, I found myself laughing, groaning, and cheering for the HEA. I loved all of the books, though Book 4, “Love on the Slopes”, was my favorite. I loved the storyline of overcoming great odds, family turmoil, and, of course, having to be teamed up with a guy you can’t stand!
I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A collection of sweet heart warming stories of HEA, loved each book!! These are all stand alone stories that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Fiance for the Night
A fun quick, sweet romance of a fake relationship. Cassie needed a fake fiance for a night to appease her parents on the boyfriend hunt. Neither her or Troy expected anything more, even though they were opposites, they soon find mutual attraction. “Successful relationships are about compromise.”
The Wedding Lullaby
A joke wedding for his best friend will leave lasting memories. Laurel is down on her luck and the only person she can turn to is baby’s daddy, Brett. All she wants his a job but Brett wants more a wife and a baby. He will do anything to get Laurel to marry him but Laurel only wants to marry for love.
With many twists and turns do they finally end up as happily ever after couple. Loved how Brett would not give up on Laurel.
A Little Bit Engaged
Loved this story!! What Cara doesn’t do for her twin sister, if it even means having a fake engagement with her high school crush, Brody. Cara’s twin sister, Caitlyn and Brody have always been an item in Hollywood, so Cara is a little confused.Soon one lie turns into more lies with the fake engagement and Brody soon begins to rethink his future.
This was a heartwarming clean romance that will have you laughing, crying and rooting for Cara. How I disliked Caitlyn, to treat her sister like she did.
Love on the Slopes
I loved the story of Ry and Bree. They have a history that Ry does not even remember but now Bree needs his help to improve her skiing to make the USA ski team. They both have emotional baggage that they can help each other over these obstacles. Neither is to happy to begin with their coaches for putting them together. I thoroughly enjoyed reading how their relationship blossomed.
Great quartet of stories about how it only takes one night to start each couple on their journey towards their HEA. Each story can be read on its own, but there are some minor cameos in the earlier books of part of later couples.
We start off with Cassandra and Troy in Fiance For the Night. While I don’t recommend approaching a stranger in a bar to pretend to be your fiancé, it works for Cassandra! She and Troy do a great job of faking a love connection in front of her family. Too good, actually, as a one night turns into something more.
The Wedding Lullaby is the unexpected complication from the fake, “joke” wedding of Laurel and Brett. When their mutual friend Henry decides that a quickie Reno wedding, with an equally quick annulment, is a fun game, our couple’s behind closed doors romp results in a little bundle of joy! Complicating matters is Laurel’s fall from grace after daddy leaves her penniless and Brett’s determination that his child will not grow up fatherless like he did. While everything works out, I wasn’t feeling the chemistry between Laurel and Brett.
My favorite story in the series is Cara and Brody’s in A Little Bit Engaged. Brody needs a favor from his old pal Cara. Since she’s been crushing on Brody for years…even as he was involved with her twin, Cait…she agrees to play his fiancé. But things get very sticky, thanks to duplicitous Cait, and our sweet heroine is being made out to be a lying opportunist. Brody is very gallant and protective, but he’s also protecting his “brand”…oh, those actors! I wanted Cara to have a bit more backbone, but I couldn’t help but love her!
Rounding out this set is Love on the Slopes, which excited this sports fan heart! While competing for a spot on the Olympic ski team, Brynn has some personal issues that are causing her performance to be less than stellar. Her coach wants her to train with Ryland, who’s trying to come back himself from an injury. But a past relationship, and the assumptions that Ry didn’t correct at the time, make this pairing less than ideal for Brynn. As a new friendship grows, can that be enough for them both, or will past issues sideline a budding romance between them.
All in all, this box set is a much have for any Melissa McClone fan, as well as a great starting place for new readers!
Fiancé for the Night:
This book is a tale of things spinning totally out of control.
It begins innocently enough, Cassandra wants to stop her parents from setting her up with their idea of the perfect husband for her. She decides to select one man from a local hangout that fits the bill and have him be her fiancé for the night.
Troy isn’t quite sure what to make of the free spirited Cassandra as he considers her proposal. He decides to go for it, a free meal and a lovely companion for the evening beats going home to an empty apartment and working.
Cassandra gets quite the surprise when she finds out what Troy does for a living and things start hurtling out of control.
From a one night dinner, the ‘engagement’ proceeds to a week-end and then more.
All of sudden it’s not just solving Cassie’s problem, it becomes an issue for Troy and his employment.
Lots of twists, turns and fun as these two become more than just pretend.
The Wedding Lullaby:
Henry Davenport’s birthday extravaganzas are legendary among his friends. Those in attendance all have something in common other than their extreme wealth, they all have holiday birthdays. The preface of this book supplies the cause of the effects that are in this story. A fake wedding is the theme and the ‘lucky’ dice rollers are Brett Matthews and Laurel Worthington.
At the time of the party, no one knew the dire circumstances facing Laurel and her mother. Now broke and pregnant, Laurel has to approach Brett for a job. She won’t force him to accept the child, in fact, she won’t be a trophy wife forced on him because of pregnancy. She wants love and respect.
Of course Brett already knows everything, and is more than ready to accept the responsibility of both her and the child. He just wasn’t going to make it easy on her. She would never have dated him before that party, his was new money, not the old her family preferred.
Brett had also convinced himself she would take the easy way and marry him over getting a job. Boy was he wrong.
Brett finally agrees to give her a job as assistant to his assistant. He also makes a plan to go with her to look at apartments, even though he has no intention of letting her live anywhere but with him.
This is a fun read with plenty of ups and downs a Laurel not only finds her way as a working women but also finds herself in the process. Even Brett grows in his mindset as this tale unfolds.
A Little Bit Engaged:
This story is painful in the sense that throughout Cait aka Caitlyn seems oblivious to the hurt and embarrassment she is causing Brody and her sister.
Brody springs a surprise visit on Cara and also an almost unbelievable proposition. A temporary engagement.
Now Cara has been a little more than in love with Brody since their school days, but this is almost more than she can handle. Then Brody shows her the video that has caused Cait to force their hands.
Everything gets totally out of control as they make like they are planning their wedding. Every time they turn around there are cameras as Cait does the unthinkable and tips off the paparazzi.
I absolutely love the way this romance plays out. Brody and Cara are truly made for each other. The question is will they realize it too.
Love on the Slopes:
There are many factors in this one, the first being their past. Brynn did Ryland a favor he thought was something altogether different and bragged about it, causing her embarrassment. Then he was injured and has been off the circuit and reevaluating his life choices.
Brynn has lost her focus, the issues she has can’t be discussed with anyone associated with the team. The coaches have asked Ryland to work with Brynn to get her back on track. To say she’s not happy is an understatement.
As the days pass, the attraction between them grows. Brynn has to come to terms with her emotions and future on the team, difficult as it may be.
Fun, intriguing, emotional, and romantic. You won’t want to put this one down.
I totally enjoyed reading One Night to Forever, a four-book box set consisting of heartwarming, sweet and moving romance stories by Melissa McClone that are not to be missed. Each story offers an unexpected love between two people never expecting to find it. We have fake relationships, a surprise pregnancy, friendship to love, and hate or enemies to love storylines that take you on a journey exploring the magic of love. These stories are written from the heart, have endearing and likeable characters plus a cast of supportive friends and family. I highly recommend One Night to Forever to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Excellent stories of second chances, redeeming love and forgiveness with twists, turns and all the feels. Heart wrenching, heartwarming and love conquers all. Wonderful secondary characters.
In Finance for the Night, Cassandra picked the wrong fake fiance when she chose Troy at a bar. He ended up being the man of her parents’ dreams and she couldn’t shake their fake relationship so easily. Troys uses her connections to try to get ahead with the excuse that she used him first. Her sister Emily and ex-fiance Eric were nasty selfish people and I was surprised her parents were so accepting of Eric after what he did to Cassandra. Cassandra was tired of being used by those she loved, but she came off a little too quick to judge.
In the Wedding Lullaby, it seems silly that Brett and Lauren would marry at the whim of their friend Henry. And that they would consummate it making it a real marriage, so they would have to divorce rather than annual it, but that made for an interesting story. Because Lauren ended up pregnant, their relationship wasn’t over. Brett was overly confident that she would jump at the idea of marrying him rather than working and then got jealous and insulting when she spent time with Henry.
In A Little Bit Engaged, Cara and Brody were manipulated by her movie star sister Caitlin into a fake engagement. But Caitlin’s lies didn’t end there as she smeared Cara’s character repeatedly to her public including claiming she stole Brody from her and got pregnant. She even tries to hijack their wedding. I wonder how much of that really was her PR team and how much was Caitlin’s selfish need to get what she wants and be the center of attention. The only good that came from her actions was that Cara and Brody realized their feelings for each other.
In Love on the Slopes, professional skier Ry wasn’t a very likeable character at the beginning of the book. He only thought of himself and used women as he tried to do with Brynn. He also ruined her reputation when he lied about sleeping with her. Getting injured and almost dying from overdosing caused him to change his life. But he’s still focused on going back to the Olympics and winning a medal. He feels like he can’t afford to have any distractions including women in his life. Brynn is distracted when she is told that the man she thought was her father is not after he insults her and throws her out of his house. She’s been distracted for months about this and her skiing has been affected by it. Ry is asked to help her get her focus back. She can’t stand him after what he did six years ago and she wants to refuse his help, but she knows he’s her only chance at staying on the team. There was plenty of humor, ups and downs with injuries and relationships, and romance in this story. I loved Brynn’s brothers Jax and Ace and hope they get romances in future books. I could see the possibilities with Sam and Lia despite the age differences.
I loved this series because each story is different. Full of entertaining, fun and a romance the will make your heart flutter.
Fiancé for the Night
Enemies to lovers romance. This story was engaging, romantic and fun with just enough snark to make you laugh a time or two.
The Wedding Lullaby
Impromptu marriage, surprise baby romance. This story is thoughtful and sweet and makes you wanted to just stop and pause for a moment.
A Little Bit Engaged
Best friends romance. This story was frustrating and sweet, heartwarming with a beautiful HEA!!
Love on the Slopes
Enemies to lovers romance. Exciting, heartfelt, romantic and sweet. My favorite part what the skiing competition and the friendships within the ski team. It was awesome and engaging.
The set of four stories are connected with a few characters but are each standalone. I enjoyed each story. I think my favorite was the first in the set Fiance for a Night. Each story had some humor and drama. I will say that each of the heroine’s families are horrible to their daughters. Each of the heroines were strong and their hero fits them perfectly giving them the support they need.
1- Little Bit Engaged~
It’s an engaging & moving story.
Cara, lives a quiet life in San Francisco.
She needs to live her own life, away
from her movie star, twin sister.
Cara, is awoken by her best friend,
& movie star, Brody, her sister Caitlyn’s boyfriend. Brody, needs Cara’s help.
Once again her sister has gotten them
all into a mess.
Because of the scandal created,
Brody asks Cara, to pretend their engaged,
till after her sister’s new movie opens.
Each day’s lie, are worst than the
day before. Will Cara & Brody, finally
see how they’ve been manipulated by Caitlyn, once again?
And will they admit what they feel for each other?
2- Love On The Slopes ~
Love On The Slopes is a touching
& moving story. After a hugh misunderstanding, Brynn has avoided
“Ry-Guy”. Now Ry has been asked to
help her.
The past year, Brynn’s been unfocused.
She has been carrying a big secret,
that can effect a lot of people.
Spending time together, Brynn
see’s that Ry, isn’t the same jerk
he was six years ago. And Ry, see’s
how truly special Brynn, really is.
It will pull at all your heartstrings.
3-Fiance For The Night~
I loved this sweet & charming story.
Cassandra walks into a bar, & asks a complete stranger, to be her Fiance’
for the night. Explaining that she needs
him for one night to have dinner with her parents. She wants them to back off.
Cassandra, is a free spirit. Lives life how she chooses. Troy, is after the brass ring. Lives by the rules. He grew up poor,
& plans on being very successful.
Total opposites. Wrong for each other.
But what she didn’t expect is, her parent’s loved him. And their chemistry,
is undeniable.
4-Wedding Lullaby~
It’s an engaging story that started with
an crazy farce that happens every
year. With the roll of the dice, two people
get married for one day.
This was finally Brett’s year! He couldn’t be happier that his chosen bride
is Laurel. He has always liked her.
But, since they last saw each other,
life has drastically changed for Laurel,
& Brett’s life is changing for the better.
This must read stories will draw you in,
from the very beginning, to the end!!
