Be still my heart. It’s been a while where main character had me swooning so hard as did Thaddeus. That was the sweetest. I wanted to crawl into this story had throw myself at him and beg him to love me. As for Priscilla; I liked how determent she was and wouldn’t settle. It was fun to see Thaddeus breaking down her walls without her really realising it.
This series just keeps improving with each story that comes out. I’m a huge fan and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Priscilla Weatherby craves adventure and wants nothing else but to join her father and grandfather on their traveling adventures all over the world. Never mind that she hasn’t heard from them for almost 10 years and that her father had made her a deal that if she learned to be responsible and was not married by her 25th birthday, she would inherit enough money to join them.
Thaddeus Middleton is ready to settle down and is looking for a wife. The one he decides upon is Priscilla but she is not interested in him whatsoever….or is she?! I thought this was such a charming story and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to end. Erica Ridley is such a wonderful author and I always look forward to reading her books.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
One Night of Passion by Erica Ridley
Wicked Dukes Club #3
Big smiles after finishing this novella! Thaddeus Middleton has decided it is time to marry so goes off in pursuit of a wife KNOWING that he will be swept away and be given irrefutable signs when his true love appears. He dances with many and is always engaging and friendly and so far…the woman has not appeared although when he approaches Miss Priscilla Weatherby there are definitely sparks but she is not welcoming so what is he to do? Priscilla is playing a waiting game knowing that at 25 money will be hers and an adventurer she will become. Who needs a husband or to be tied down when she can travel with her father and grandfather? But what IS she to do when her heart starts to tell her maybe there is more to life than adventuring?
This story had me smiling and laughing as I enjoyed the interaction between Thaddeus and Priscilla. I felt sorry for the lonely little girl Priscilla must have been. I can see how she came to think the way she did after what she had been through. Thaddeus was clueless in some ways but so much fun! He was a gentle soul and creative and perfect for Priscilla. The two were a delight to get to know and perfect for one another…so glad they realized it, too, before it was too late!
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
Witty banter, romance, humor, emotional depth, an exquisite writing style and well-researched historical details. Erica Ridley weaves her usual magic and brings it all together in an amazing love story.
Thad is a wonderful MC! It’s very refreshing to have a hero that’s simply a nice, non-brooding, guy who is actively searching for love and romance instead of collecting notches on his bedpost and running away from the slightest hint of commitment.
Priscilla is equally lovable and “non-leave-behindable” in my opinon. My heart ached for her, with the way she grew up so lonely and how those she loves just keep on disappointing her. No wonder she doesn’t trust love and looks for adventure abroad instead as a way of finding happiness.
I liked the secondary characters, and it was especially wonderful to see Diana and Colehaven again. Priscilla’s grandmother is a piece of work, but tragic and interesting in her own right. Koffi is hilarious!
Can’t wait for her next book in this series.
This is the 3rd book in the series “The Wicked Dukes”, this is written by Erica Ridley. In the first book “One Night for Seduction” I really liked Thad, he was a nice cousin and cared about his cousin. In this book I fell a little in love with him. He is a nice guy, and people like him. Thad was looking for a wife, he wants to love his wife, and marry a woman who would love him for him. Priscilla always wanted adventure and to follow her father and grandfather on their adventures. Priscilla has to choose love or adventure – she thinks she can not have both, or can she? Thad and Priscilla are great together and you will enjoy their story and of course Erica Ridley writing style.
This is not your typical love story of a woman who will do whatever it takes to get her man.
I really enjoyed the twists in this enchanting story.
“One Night of Passion” is book 3 in The Wicked Dukes series and is Thaddeus Middleton and Miss Priscilla Weatherby story. Thaddeus is a romantic at heart and enjoys writing about people in his journals and loves to read biographies. Priscilla craves adventure and independence; she will inherit a fortune if she stays single until age 25. Thaddeus wants to stay at home and Priscilla wants to travel and follow her grandfather and father in their worldwide adventures. Erica Ridley could not have created two more opposite characters yet when they meet sparks fly. Priscilla is bound and determined to stay single so she can travel but is drawn to Thad. Thad is witty and has irresistible charm; he is also draw to Priscilla but wonders why she holds back. The plot setup for book 3 is such an enjoyable and entertaining read. I loved the antics and comments from Koffi and Diana’s gift to Thad of Wednesday is so cute. The ending reveal and dialogue between Priscilla, her grandmother and father is an interesting story twist. Ms. Ridley continues to delight her readers with well written stories filled with romance, witty banter and charm. This is light hearted romance done right. I would recommend this book.
I received an ARC of this book from the author. It was a pleasure to give my honest opinion about the book.
Erica Ridley has outdone herself on this latest addition to the Wicked Dukes Club series, which is alternately authored by her and Darcy Burke. The previous offerings in the series were very good but One Night of Passion, the third offering in the series, is the sundae with the cherry on top, the one I will reread time and time again. The characters of Thaddeus (Thad) Middleton and Priscilla Weatherby were right on. The dialogue was wonderful. The romance was so endearingly sweet. Thad is looking for a wife. He wants a perfect love match. He is told by someone that there will be signs of who is the right one. Priscilla doesn’t want to marry. She wants to go on adventures and plans to join her father and grandfather on their journeys after she gains her inheritance. Thad has his work cut out for him in convincing Priscilla that she is “The One,” his perfect match. This was such an engaging read and I highly recommend.
I was gifted an advance reader copy of this work and offer this voluntary review. All opinions stated are my own.
One Night of Passion by Erica Ridley is book Three in the Wicked Dukes Club Series. This is the story of Thaddeus ‘Thad’ Middleton and Priscilla Weatherby. I have read the previous books (and Loved them!) but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Priscilla wants to be independent but also wants to go on adventures and travels with her father. Priscilla’s father also took to traveling just has his father did. But she has to go through hoops that are in place to get that independence. Priscilla must attend at 3 weekly events, have no scandals, to not marry and when she turns 25 she will inherit the money she feels will help her goal of being independent and to travel.
Thad feels that its time to marry and goes forward to meet the women that is to be his…”The One”. But the only person he is attracted to is Priscilla who is the opposite of what he thinks he wants in a wife and he sure that she can’t be the one for him. Priscilla knows that Thad would be the perfect husband for her if she was looking for one and goes forward to turn him away and resist her feelings. When Thad is encouraged by his friends and family to looking further into getting to know Priscilla he start to become aware that she might just be what he always wanted.
Loved their story and this series!!!
Erica Ridley creates interesting, yet appealing characters, anachronistic but charming heroines and compelling plot situations. While Thaddeus Middleton is not a duke, he is friends with the Wicked Dukes and his cousin and former ward, Diana is married to one. Friends with all and not titled, he is free to chose a wife, not for political or wealth, but for love. He observed the unhappy marriage of his parents and the love that Diana’s parents had until death and that is what he wants for himself. He has searched all the usual places in the Marriage Mart, but the only woman who has caused a spark of interest is Miss Priscilla Weatherby, who is not looking for a husband at all. Both her grandfather and father had selfishly married and then took off for adventure, leaving behind their wives. Priscilla’s grandmother has become a bitter old woman and her mother died of a broken heart. Priscilla only wants to join her father and grandfather in their travels, and was told that she will inherit a fortune if she remains unwed and scandal free by her 25th birthday. So she has made herself unapproachable, because she doesn’t believe that any one that she loves will stay. Thaddeus is everything that Priscilla could want in a husband and lover. Can Thaddeus convince Priscilla that love is the most important thing? That adventure is nice as long as you have a home to come back to?

Finding the one person who is always on your mind and seeing them again could it be love ? Will have to read to find out
I just loved this story. Thaddeus charming, funny and looking for his true love. Then he meets Priscilla. Priscilla makes herself unlovable but Thaddeus can’t help but try to win her over. But her goals are to travel the world with her absentee father. But once she falls in love will Thaddeus’ love be enough? I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Thaddeus Middleton is just a plain Mr but has plenty of friends amonst the ton. He makes a point of attending all of the best places to find a bride. The woman he is looking for must be “the one” , nothing but true love will be enough for him.
Miss Priscilla Weatherby has managed to appear as if she is just like all the other husband hunting young ladies, but nothing could be further from the truth. All she wants is to bide her time untill she can go adventuring with her father and grandfather.
An amusing tale with lovely characters, both human and animal. Our hero is just about the nicest one I read about, but nice boys don’t always win the ladies. Our heroine is sure about what she does and doesn’t want. Can our hero change her mind???
This is part of a series but easily read alone.
A light, easy and enjoyable read.
One Night of Passion is another romantic, fluffy addition to Ridley and Burke’s Wicked Dukes Club series. Thaddeus proved to be as sweet and sensitive as his fellow Wicked Duke patrons that we met in the two previous books. It’s not very often when I read a Regency romance where the leading man doesn’t have a title, which seems like an oversight on my part. Thaddeus’s search for “Princess Charming” and true love was adorable. The teasing banter between our hero and lady never fails to bring a smile to my face.
I didn’t care for Priscilla in this book. I loved her antics in the beginning but I grew weary of her fixation on an adventure for the sake of adventure. For me, her saving grace was the beloved Koffi and her lightbulb moment.
Even with my complaints, I enjoyed this installment of the Wicked Dukes Club series. It is a breath of fresh air to read about kind, progressive leading men and strong women with atypical hobbies for the era (at least for women of their station or lack thereof).
**I received an advance copy from the author for review; all opinions are my own.
This is funny, unpredictable and romantic. Thaddeus is romantic, charismatic, sweet and funny. Priscilla is strong, cheeky, stubborn and vulnerable. Koffi is demanding and amusing. Thaddeus is looking for “The ONE”, but while he’s looking he’s decided to help the wallflowers and others by dancing with all of the ladies who lack dance partners. Priscilla is just biding her time, staying as inconspicuous as possible, until her 25th birthday. She will receive a trust fund if she is not married by then, and she desperately wants that money so she can chase down her father and grandfather, who are adventuring and have stayed gone her whole life. But after Thaddeus and she have an amusing conversation, and he keeps pursuing her for more conversations, she starts to really like him. They become friends, and find that they have much in common, and the more time they spend together, the more they want the other to be “The ONE”. It has some very witty dialogue, and is full of dry humor. This is my favorite of the series so far, it should be added to the top of your TBR list. (the whole series)
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Thaddeus is such a sweetheart. Priscilla is the perfect girl for him. Koffi is a hoot. I am so loving this series and all it wild adventures filled with misfits and rogues. Well done!
A fantastic story of two people going towards a wonderful adventure…
Not always the adventure is in faraway places, such as Africa, India … but sometimes it’s close to you … just grab it and explore it …
A woman that want to explore the world with her father… she is waiting for him all her young life… until she meets a man in search of the true love…
But love will be enough?
A story for all that love sweet and funny story…
I received a free book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This the 3rd book in The Wicked Dukes Club series, Thaddeus or Thad has always long for his love to come to feel that spark that only true love will bring so he is always out in about meeting new people because she could be anywhere and he doesn’t want to miss her. Priscilla is also always out at ton events she must blend in with other young women who are husband hunting except she is not the last thing she wants is a husband instead she wants to be an adventurer like her father. If she can stay unattached until her 25th birthday she will receive 10,000 pounds of her very own then she can find her father and join him. When Thad talks with her he feels a little spark so he asks for dance but she refuses even if she does think he is handsome and nice but Thad manages to run into her time and again and that spark is always there.
Will Thad find the sign he is looking for that she is the one or will his heartbreak when she leaves to find her adventure.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Priscilla has a dream, one that is based on the fantasy that someday her father will return to England’s shores for her and take her adventuring across the plains of Africa with him. Failing that, she has her future trust that she can rely on. It will give her independence and even if she doesn’t join her father, she can fill her life with all the adventure she wants. When Thaddeus sees Priscilla in a crowded ballroom, he knows that she is the woman who will steal his heart. His friends jokingly tell him to look for signs, and before he knows it, all the signs align, leading him straight to Priscilla’s side. When he finds that her heart is set on being totally independent, he is heartsore, but nevertheless sets about wooing her in a way that only she can appreciate. I loved the characters in this book, although I could have quite gladly beaten Priscilla’s father about the head with an umbrella, as it would seem her grandmother would have liked to do as well. The story is well written, with a charming, romantic and witty hero and Priscilla is a woman who knows what she wants, but my heart ached for her when reality intruded in on her dreams. I was glad to know that she had the ability to sift out what was really important in her life. I received a copy of this book as a gift through NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
The Wicked Dukes Club are some of the most romantic stories I have read. They are so very sweet and awe inspiring. Third book in and I am smiling and grinning like a loon at the end of each book. Thad is such a gentleman and I love his camaraderie with everyone from other guys to wallflowers to diamonds. Now Priscilla on the other hand is a little sad – most people have very upstanding fathers but her father leaves her and rarely comes back. She just wants to believe so much that her whole life was seen through rosy glasses. You have to feel sorry about that. Fortunately, Thad is a perfect foe/friend to her. The ending is fantastic.
