From a USA Today bestselling author who RaeAnne Thayne calls “heartfelt and delightful” comes a charming novella in the Christmas Colorado series about a small town boutique owner finding her second chance at love. Sophia Dane’s life is back on track. After losing her husband in a horrible accident, she’s finally in a happy place. She turned her grief, guilt, and — most of all — the resentment … and — most of all — the resentment her husband’s family heaped on her after Bryce’s death, into motivation to open a boutique on Main Street in the small-town of Christmas, Colorado. Ready to start anew and ring in the New Year with her friends, Sophie never expects to come face-to-face with her brother-in-law, Adam.
th him after the way his family treated her. Adam knows he has a lot of making up to do, but first he needs to convince her to trust him — and his family — again. th him after the way his family treated her. A lovely novella that brings to romances to life and has you dreaming of happily ever after. You meet Sophia who seems to be getting it together. After the death of her husband she wasn’t sure where she was going to land or what life had in store for her. His family, especially one of his brothers has always hated her leaving her without their help when he died. She has opened a boutique on Main Street with the help of a friend and things are starting to look up, that is until her once brother-in-law Adam comes back to town. The two have always had a weird relationship and when feelings start to sprout neither knows exactly how to deal with them. Meanwhile her best friend and business partner is seeing her other brother-in-law even though he hurt her in the past. She can’t stand to see her friend with a man who was already so careless with her feelings. Follow along as these two women step into their own romances and look forward to a brighter future. Will the men in their lives feel the same way or will they both end up hurt and destine to go it alone. I love this series and enjoyed getting a peak back into the lives of some of the people of such a wonderful town.
Sophia co-owns a boutique with her best friend in the town of Christmas, Colorado . Sophia is a young and beautiful widow. Adam is one of Sophia’s brothers in law and they have always felt an attraction to one another. When Sophia’s husband committed suicide, his family blamed Sophia and it has taken her a good long while to come back to feeling good about herself and her life. While Adam lives in San Francisco, he has returned for the Christmas holidays and thus begins the reawakening of the growing romantic feelings between him and Sophia.
This was a quick, fun read with charming characters. Thank you to Netgalley, the author Debbie Mason, and the publisher (Forever) Grand Central Publishing for the ARC I was granted in return for an honest review.
A quick yet highly entertaining and heartwarming journey filled with friends, family, witty banter, emotional excitement and Christmas joy. Excellent reading experience from beginning to end and a real joy to read.
I always love visiting Debbie Mason’s Christmas, Colorado, and One Night in Christmas was no exception. Mason keeps the story moving, as it takes place over several months. Sophia and Adam and Autumn and Logan are fun characters that you want to get to know better. This was the perfect breather between longer novels.
I voluntarily reviewed and ARC of this novella.
I love this book!! The made you feel good.
Love visiting Christmas Colorado, and this was no disappointment. Love all of the quirky residents. Loved Sophie and Adam, a second chance romance. Sophie is coming to terms with the death of her husband when she runs into her ex bother in-law, Adam. Sophie was always, Adam’s first love. Many family secrets will come out in the story, as they rekindle their relationship.
An enjoyable read that I wish was longer, so enjoyed these characters
The Dane brothers have done a number on Sophia and Autumn. Logan divorced Autumn and Bryce died. The family blamed her. It seems matchmaker Nell and matchmaker/stylist Ty seem to have a different idea. Logan is back with 2 children. He wants Autumn back in his life with a little help from Nell. Adam is back in town and Ty has plans for Sophia with him. Old hurts and insecurities surface. When it comes down to it, everyone under estimated Sophia. Quick fun read!
Loved revisiting Christmas, Colorado with all it’s quirky characters and I really enjoyed this story. My only real complaint is that I wanted more and wish this was a full novel rather than a novella. I wanted to get to know these characters better and dive a little deeper into their story. With that said this was still a truly enjoyable quick read. Sophie is happy with her life just as it is. She hates change and fights it with everything she has. Now that it appears her best friend. who is also her housemate and business partner. is ready to make a huge personal change it has Sophia spiraling. Who would ever think that Adam, Sophia’s long time crush and ex brother in law, would be the one to pull her through and have her thinking of changes to her own life?? I definitely recommend this one.
I’m always excited when I see a new Debbie Mason book coming out. May it be a novella or a mass market it doesn’t matter to me. All I know is that for the time it takes me to read it I’m going to be visiting with people that I love.
Mason has this wonderful ability to make me start out loving a character than it turns to hate and comes back to either love or at least I tolerate them. Of course, they don’t always have to be the main characters in the book. Hell, their book might now even be written yet. Those are the ones that get me the most. I now have to wait to see if I’m going to keep hating them. Ha!
For me, One Night in Christmas is a bag of mixed nuts. I really loved Sophia and Adam. Yes, I had issues with them but not that much. Sophia sent so much of her time trying to make sure her friend Autumn was happy that I think she forgot about herself.
It was Autumn and Logan that just drove me nuts. I can honestly say that my eyes Logan is no hero. He’s a childish baby who only thinks about himself. My two-year-old nephew has fewer temper tantrums then him. And even though when the chips were down Autumn was going in my eyes do Sophia wrong. I don’t want to give to much away so I’m going to stop there. The good news for this story is that it’s mostly about Sophia and Adam so I enjoyed 95% of it. The other 5% is Logan and Autumn.
That’s the wonderful thing about series you really get to feel like you know the characters and town and become invested in their lives to the point where you pick sides. You really wish you could just yell at them to do it this way! Of course, that would be nuts and make for a weird story. Characters have to be themselves.
Even with those who aren’t my favorite, the story is very good and so worth the read. It’s fast paced so you’ll be done with it before you know.
This book is an entertaining story of second chances. There’s laughter, friendship, mystery, distrust and hard feelings, old hurts, moving forward, forgiveness, and love. There’s a lot packed into this novella and I loved every minute of it!
