Megan Ashton envied her friends. They had successful careers and lavish lifestyles, and she watched herself careening into her thirties, with little to show for it. One night—while drowning her sorrows and gritting her teeth through another one of her friend’s success stories—a mysterious businessman catches Megan’s attention, and it became apparent the feeling was mutual. Handsome, rich, and … successful; Aidan Costello has everything Megan ever thought she wanted. Will this whirlwind romance be the one Megan has waited her whole life for, or will it leave her even more lost than she was to begin with? One night changes Megan’s future forever . . . but will it be for the better?

This is an easy read. I started it yesterday morning when it was delivered to my phone and I finished it. The author did a great job making the main character, Megan, easy to identify with. It’s the classic poor woman meets a rich hunky man, but with a unique twists, flare, and personality.
I hope the author is coming out with more. I would definitely take some more romance like this!
This wonderful novel held my interest from the beginning. I found the characters relatable and flawed (which I love). While this is a romance, it is also so much more thanks to the intriguing plot twists and drama that keep this book from falling into the unrealistic trappings found in so many romance books. This story whisked me away from the everyday world, which is exactly what a great book should do. I didn’t want it to end. Now, I can’t wait for the sequel.
You’ve ever been in a marriage and came across and old fling or just somebody you that was supposed to be the one. That’s what you will get from reading this novel. Either you go left are you go right for love, either way the choice is yours. I high recommend this novel!
On the Fourth of May a new book from Rethoric Askew Publishing appears, called One Night Forever. A book about love you can order through Amazon.
Love is never as easy as it looks. But what if, one evening, you look back on your life and you decide you got stuck in a dead-end job? Megan is in that situation. Her friends made a beautiful career and she’s still stuck in that shop. Didn’t we all ask ourselves that question one moment or the other?
And then there is Aidan. He’s successful. The prince on the white horse, maybe, except he doesn’t ride a horse, but comes with a limousine. As both prepare for a night out with their best friends, nothing suggests they ever meet (well, actually, that’s not true. They are together in a book, after all).
In fact, Megan is on the receiving end of things, though she’s unaware of what really comes her way. When they sit in an Asian restaurant (where else can you find any decent food in London?) Emma, one of her friends, makes an astounding proposition. One that might change her entire outlook on life. She offers her… But discover that on your own, please.
The story really pops in chapter six. They’re in a club and two pair of eyes meet for the briefest of moments and… Well… Once again, something you must discover on your own. What made this sixth chapter so powerful was a single sentence that popped out for me: She looked like she wasn’t breathing.
Try to imagine that. They look at one another (preferably not too long, imagine the consequences if she really didn’t breathe at all) and while nothing is said, nor anything is insinuated, you feel there happens a lot in that one sentence. This is an author in full control of her characters in a way I wish I could say the same about mine. But I’m digressing and the girl in her golden dress has something to do with that…
Drinks
It all starts rather innocently, when Aidan pays for all of her drinks. He doesn’t know her. He never talked to her and yet he decides of his own free will to pay for her drinks. And that of her friends, too. If you ever received that gift, you know that’s the start of something. I mean: you drink more when it’s free, right?
It soon turns into more, as well, though with a twist. Aidan and Megan go out to have… a pizza. Of all things.
And so Earth turns around because, well, there is no such thing as a coincidence. Not here, sir. Lady. So, expect some twists you didn’t see coming. And thank god for secrets. Yes. I admit it. I make less and less sense. But I love it. The book, I mean. And especially the conflict.
This is a book about love. I like a good Hallmark movie, though all those love stories are always the same. Boy meets Girl. Both are attracted to one another. Then a secret of their past comes above (and oh, there are some juicy secrets out there) and they split only to get re-united at the end when either the boy or the girl discovers their error.
There are a few secrets – but it comes as a surprise nevertheless. It hurt – more than I want to admit. And while love is a very beautiful thing, it’s capable of doing the worst atrocities. Because it’s always your fault.
A book is about conflict and that’s what you get. But don’t be surprised it comes with a twist – as anything in this story. I can’t help but say I read it in only a few takes. It’s witty, well written and though you know what happens, it somehow gets you to that point where you think: Darn, I didn’t see that one coming.
May the Fourth be with you.
One Night Forever by A.C. Beckinsale

One Night Forever is a romance novel written by A.C. Beckinsale. A one-night chance meeting turns into more for Megan and Aidan. The past raises its ugly head a few times in the story, but the two lovebirds manage to make it look easy to keep a relationship together. They seem to be the perfect fit for one another. The relationship happens fast. Both had past relationships that raise their ugly heads in the middle of the story. Aidan is a likable multimillionaire. He acts like a down to earth man who has major responsibilities. Megan is a character in her own right, a strong woman who is a sales rep. She was brought up in a poor town outside London, her friend offers her a better job in London. She has a past that catches up with them toward the end of the book.
This is a cute romance between two people who love one another. It is not G-rated due to the swearing that happens in conversations. I waited for the typical romance where: girl finds boy, something happens, girl leaves boy, they get back together, but this book is not written as a typical romance formula book. It was a pleasure to read about a different type of relationship- a happy one that seems to work for both people. I hope I get to follow this couple again.
I received an ARC of One Night Forever and was captivated by the story and the characters immediately. Megan Ashton wants a little of what her friends have, a little spark and excitement in her mundane existence. All it takes is one night. She gets what she wishes, but so much more.
One night Forever is whimsical and romantic, sexy and funny, but also serious and heartbreaking at times. Megan thought she knew where all the pieces fit in her life. She was wrong.
If you like romance and intrigue, heartfelt relationships and unbreakable bonds of friendship, you’ll love One Night Forever. The book ends on a cliffhanger, so I’m waiting anxiously for the sequel!
I would highly recommend!
Though this is a romance, I quickly learned the story is about the secret between Aiden and Megan. He’s her boss and no one at the office can know. I’d say the first two thirds of the book deal around the drama of their secret, and the last third is about the happily ever after. There were a ton of fun, sweet, and joyous moments throughout this entire novel to make the reader feel good. And the lightness of it all was a drastic change to the typical romance novels I’ve read. Happy all the way through and very adorable,
It’s OK for what it is. I’d spend my money elsewhere next time.
