We lived the best country music song I ever wrote.I still see Annie every time I close my eyes. Her bare feet up on the dashboard of my truck.Laughing at my jokes.Sharing a beer when we weren’t old enough to drink.Way back then, we thought our summers would be endless. We spent our nights pulling passion from the stars. We loved so hard forever was a given. Then I left to chase music fame in … given.
Then I left to chase music fame in Nashville.
Never dreaming I’d lose her along the way.
Now I’m back in town.
She might be older, but she hasn’t changed.
Same sweet beauty with eyes like heaven.
Same whirlwind who makes me throb.
Same woman I hate myself for losing once.
This time, I won’t leave without her.
All I want is one more summer with Annie.
I’ll do anything to bring our music back.
One More Summer is a full-length stand alone romance novel with a HEA, no cheating or cliffhangers

Levi wants things to work out with his family & with Annie but…..
Absolutely love this book, it made me smile, made me cry (church bit), made me laugh. A real feel good good
Annie’s lived her whole life in her small hometown. She had dreams but you know how that goes. She also had the love of her soul mate. Unfortunately, that soul mate left her and everyone else behind when he went to chase HIS dreams in Nashville. But now he’s coming back at the request (OK, command) of his brother, to say goodbye, to care for their ailing father. Will this be Annie and Levi’s second chance or will Annie’s heart be closed to the person who left her behind?
I wanted to love One Summer, but I just couldn’t. I did like Annie, and their sweet but typical small town, but Levi irritated me to no end. I love second chance romances, but only if the one who left the other behind manages to redeem themselves, can show he or she has matured and changed. Levi really hadn’t matured aside from actually being older, and I don’t think he was anywhere near good enough for Annie, who has a heart big enough that she could forgive being left behind and forgotten. That’s why the three stars. Not because it’s badly written, but because Levi sucked. If Annie had been given a soul mate who I thought showed enough character growth to actually deserve a second chance, this definitely would be a 4 star review.

When I started to reading again Dez Burke was one of my go to authors. It has been awhile since I read one but I need to go back to my favorites that brought back my joy of reading.
This is one of those books you just do t want to put down until the last page. This has a beautifully written storyline and characters that draw you in and keep your interest throughout the book. Levi and Annie were high school sweethearts and their love for one another never died even after they both went their own way. Levi to pursue a music career in Nashville and Emma to college to be a pharmacist. But when Levi comes back home to help care for his ailing father, the feelings between the two are rekindled. Emotional read. I loved it!

there are a lot of things in this book that will make you look at things in a different light. Levi gave up a lot of things to pursue his dreams. He left his family and the girl he loved. He became so busy making a career that he forgot or at least put on the back shelf his life. He enjoyed the fruits of his labor(who wouldn’t) but there comes a time when you have to adjust your priorities. Many people find him selfish. Sometimes you have to be to get where you need to go. Levi got it together. Annie was the sweet girl left behind. Annie also had dreams. She was able to fulfill hers while Levi was off making his come true. They were apart for 7 years. A lot of people didn’t like Levi because of his leaving but I think he needed that time to grow up. Annie too. If he had stayed he may have become bitter and still of no use. We don’t know. He may have resented any and all related to that town. At the end of the day everything turns out right and they get their HEA.
