Love all her books!
very good
Loved it!
Great book and enjoyed the story!
It was a great series I loved all of them. I liked the mental angst in this one. I also liked here social work aspect to see things bigger than himself.
love all her books. she is one of the best
This was a bittersweet read for me. I’ve been invested in the Shaughnessy family and band for the last couple years so to see it come to a close was a little emotional for me. Samantha Chase did an excellent job with Julian and Charlotte. I wanted to shake Julian a time or two – I think everyone in the book did as well – and Charlotte was such a warm character that balanced him out. Chase worked in updates on everyone (a few took me by surprise) and that helped draw the series to a close. The ending definitely had me in tears – the best kind! This book left my heart so full for all the characters and their stories. This is a must read for anyone who’s read the series and could easily be read as a standalone as well – though in all fairness, I think it will make you want to go back and read them all! I will certainly miss this family but absolutely loved every minute with them.
I love how this story had so much to do with paying it forward and giving back. Sometimes we get busy and forget just how much the little things mean to others. I also enjoyed how this book wrapped up the band. I am hoping maybe we will get a glimpse of them out on the road and how they are doing after their record and their new tour.
Julian was so much fun to read. He was complicated yet caring. He just needed to find the right balance and meeting Charlotte helped him do just that. So many emotions went into this book as you read about the band helping at the homeless shelter and Charlotte working so many hours to help people.
This book has some described sexual situations but the actual act happens off-page, and mild cursing with just one f-bomb. Neither thing is a big focus of this book so even if those things aren’t your jam, you shouldn’t have a problem with this one.
One More Moment is the fourth book the Band On The Run series (Riley’s book overlaps two series) but it totally stands alone.
After reading the first three books of this series, I was SO ready for Julian – the band mate who seemed to take care of everyone else while he was a hot mess himself – to find his happily ever after, and Charlotte was the perfect match for Julian. Charlotte was sweet and caring, but she also had a bit of a sassy side, and she was infinitely patient with Julian as he struggled mightily to figure out what a healthy relationship looked like. I absolutely adored Julian, even when he was a bit of a bonehead. Julian wasn’t perfect, he wasn’t always logical or fair to Charlotte because of his own personal issues, but he was a genuinely good guy from start to finish, and the growth that he showed despite his past was incredible.
On a personal note, one of my favorite lines in the book was when Charlotte was reading a book that had been turned into a movie. “The book was better.” I laughed out loud and really wanted to high five Ms. Chase. (But I did enjoy the movie for what it was.)
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-written love story between two likable characters, or to anyone has been waiting for Julian to get his happily ever after – you won’t be disappointed.
This was the first book I’ve read by Samantha Chase, it was a lovely, comforting romance. It was gushing with charm, blossoming a love that was sweet and emotional.
There was so much depth to both Julian and Charlotte, they felt like friends from another lifetime. I genuinely enjoyed the book, however I was little surprised by how PG it was. With that in mind, I wasn’t missing the sexy times. Ms. Chase’s writing was able to deliver an intimacy between the characters without the sexy scenes.
I love a story about a superstar (movies, music, or otherwise) falling in love with a genuine normal person. Julian and Charlotte were perfect compliments to each other. Like two puzzle pieces that were a match, genuine soul mates.
This story was a refreshing read. I cheered for this couple the entire story. Definitely worth a read.
3.5 stars
Band on the run…or drummer on the run?!
Nothing says train wreck like the start of this book but let me tell you, it was a long time coming. Epic reveal. Best opportunity taken. I can’t say more without ruining the book but dang that was awesome.
Of course the after effect isn’t so sweet…Jules is still a mess. He puts everything on hold. Not dealing with it or acknowledging it. Sigh. When will he learn?
Apparently a sweet social worker is enough to tempt the bear out of the cage but will she get him to “perform tricks” too? These two have the potential for epic. I just don’t feel more than a mild entertainment.
This is the second book I have read from Samantha Chase, I came into this great series at book 2 Until There Was US and I loved this even more then that one. I have some of her other books on my kindle just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet.
Julian Grayson, a drummer for Shagnessy, has gone through the humiliation of a nasty, very public, break up at his wedding and decides to take a 3month hiatus from life, touring around on his bike. He’s found he wants different things now and just wants the quiet life, free from the spotlight and is considering quitting the band.
Charlotte is a social worker who mistakenly thinks Julian is a homeless man and she wants to help him when he is buying coffee and has forgotten his wallet after coming back home from his trip to empty cupboards.
Samantha Chase has delivered us a great tale of forgiveness, love, and generosity. She has written Julian’s struggle with anger from his betrayal brilliantly, and the chemistry between him and Charlotte is off the charts, but their relationship wasn’t easy. It was real and a bumpy road.
4.5 Star Review of One More Moment (Band On The Run #3) by Samantha Chase
What do you do when you are virtually left at the altar? That is the position drummer Julian Grayson finds himself in and he decides to take 3 months off and retreat to the beach to contemplate his life and his future.
When Julian forgets his wallets and cannot pay for his coffee Charlotte Clark offers to pay. Julian is sure that she has recognised him, and this is an attempt to get him to “owe” her. after all he is a famous rock star, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Charlotte has no idea who Julian is, all she was trying to do was a good deed.Charlotte is sweet and a tad naive and decides to throw herself into helping Julian transform his life. Julian decides to go along with it knowing full well he will have to eventually reveal who he really is. What will happen when Charlotte finds out the truth?
I was riveted from the start with this book and it was fantastic to see some characters that I recognise make an appearance. This book at times was an emotional roller coaster with plenty of drama, angst and love sprinkled throughout.
Although a stand alone I do feel you might get more enjoyment if you were to read the previous two books in the series
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review through the publisher and NetGalley
Charlotte Clark is a vocational rehabilitation counselor. In other words she helps the homeless and people down on their luck to find a job. She is very dedicated to her vocation and has a heart of gold. That’s probably one of the reasons why she decides to buy the guy in front of her in the line in her favorite coffee shop a cup of coffee and blueberry muffins. He looked rather rumpled and scruffy so probably he could use a helping hand even if it was just a free breakfast. Little did Charlotte realize at the time that her helping hand would lead to much more; major changes in her life.
Julian Grayson is the drummer in one of the most popular bands in the world, Shaughnassy. He is not a happy guy having just returned to Malibu from three months riding his motorcycle wherever it would take him in search of finding himself. He is rich and staying in a fancy beach house, certainly not the guy Charlotte thinks he is. Yes, he is recovering from the embarrassment and bad press following the ending of his relationship with his cheating fiancee. Yes, he is angry and bitter, but he’s OK now. Or so he thinks. Charlotte has it all wrong. Or does she? He may not exactly be down on his luck financially but he is a real mess emotionally. This woman in the coffee shop doesn’t need to pay for his breakfast. He can certainly more than pay for it himself. And what does she mean with this “pay it forward” she’s spouting. He decides to join her at a table on the beach and straighten her out. Or will it be vice versa?
One More Moment is the third book in author Samantha Chase’s Band on the Run series. This book rounds out the last of the band members’ stories, Julian’s story. She has done a great job with this book. I think it is the best one of the series. There’s great dialogue, steady pacing and an excellent storyline. Her characters are creatively written as three-dimensional people. It was great seeing all the band members again along with their wives. So awesome to read such a fulfilling HEA with lots of love, laughter, emotions and tears.
Brilliant conclusion to a super series!
We finally got Julian’s story. This is the classic story of a dysfunctional relationship and trying to come back from it. Right from the start Samantha drew us in with some major drama and the interest stuck. I loved the little epilogue of the Shaughnessy family when the band met Charlotte for the first time. This was a great conclusion to both series.
When famous rocker Julian, breaks off his engagement, (at his wedding), to his cheating fiancé, he takes off for some much needed alone time. After 3 months he returns home and meets sweet and sassy social worker, Charlotte. Julian has a hard time trusting people and thinks everyone wants something from him. But when Charlotte buys him breakfast, thinking he is unemployed, Julian doesn’t know what to think.
In fact, Charlotte does not recognize Julian as being the drummer in a famous band. As they spend more time together they start to develop feelings for each other and Julian knows he has to reveal his true identity.
Once Charlotte learns the truth, love blossoms between the 2 of them. But will Julian’s fears tear them apart?
I highly recommend reading this.
I LOVE Julian!! This has become my favorite story in this series. Julian is disillusioned by the music industry and love so he shuts himself down. Charlotte is a young woman that gives of herself to help other less fortunate. This story has all the feels of a great romance! I couldn’t put the book down and read it in a day. That does not happen often for me. LOL!!
**I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review**
This was the first book I read in The Shaughnessy Brothers: Band on the Run series. While I enjoyed it, I will say that it might have been better if I had read the other books in the series first.
Julian is intense and jaded by the life he leads. Charlotte is sweet with a beautiful soul. The chemistry between the two was amazing. The characters made me root for their happiness. I grew attached to them and didn’t want the story to end. I truly enjoyed reading this book.
Well this is definitely a case of saving the best for last. No matter how much I love the men of Shaughnessey, Riley, Dylan and Matt; Julian is now sitting behind his drum kit at the top of that sexy mountain of men. This is my absolute favorite of the Band on the Run series!!! I adore Julian!! And Charlotte turns out to be exactly what he needs even if it isn’t completely obvious to either of them at first. The change in Julian from the beginning to the end of this story was an amazing journey to watch. I felt his anguish, indecision, pain and embarrassment to the bottom of my heart, just as I felt his healing, joy and love. So well written and so soothing to the soul.
I loved catching up with all the couples and hearing about all of Riley’s siblings especially my favorite, Owen. Boy did hearing Owen and Brooke’s news make me smile and then squeal out loud like a crazy woman!
I give this wonderful story all the stars there are to give!! Amazing!!
I truly enjoyed reading this book!
