What a beautiful love story…loved reading how Charlotte navigated the landmines that were Julian’s life and found a way to fall in love with the real man. Took Julian a while to navigate his way thru his own landmines but once he did….wooooo hoooo for Charlotte. Thanks for the awesome read Ms Chase!!
I’ve been wanting to read Julian’s story for a while now. Julian, the drummer of Shaughnessy, is avoiding – recognition from fans and playing music again with his band. We know from the previous books that he was in a toxic on again, off again relationship with the manipulative Dena who was after fame and money. The prologue in the book of his interaction with Dena is priceless. I always love a damaged bad boy rockstar and Julian is definitely that. I enjoyed watching him find his way.
Charlotte is an interesting character. She was inspired by her family history to become a vocational rehabilitation advisor – a fancy way of saying she helps people who are homeless, out of rehab, or just release from jail find jobs. I love how kind-hearted she was and how much she wants to help people, but she was quick to make assumptions that Julian is homeless and without a job. She immediately goes into stealth mode trying to help him. While I liked Charlotte, that was the one thing that annoyed me – making quick assumptions based off appearances (and later because Julian says he’s in between jobs and also diving right into to help someone who doesn’t need or want help.
It was fun to read how the two of them started their relationship and how they both helped each other on the way to self discovery. It was also great to see the band members and their wives from the other books. One More Moment is a great conclusion to the series.
I received this book as an ARC through NetGalley and I voluntarily leave this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An emotional read full of heart and sweet heat. One More Moment had me hooked from the jaw dropping beginning! Quickly turning into such a sweet story that was bursting at the seams with seriously swoony romance and heartfelt emotion. Julian and Charlotte’s story swept me off my feet!
A rockstar on the run after a horrible relationship, Julian is hiding from everyone and everything and truly lost. I couldn’t help but find myself drawn to Julian. My heart ached for him and all he had been through. Charlotte was the complete opposite of Julian. Grounded, cheerful, and full of kindness with a generous heart she was exactly what he needed in his life when these two crossed paths.
With just as much healing and growth as there was romance One More Moment is guaranteed to hit you right in the feels on nearly every page!
First, let me say this. This is NOT a series about “Rockstars”. It is a phenomenal series about four gentlemen who happen to be musicians as their profession.
I FREAKING LOVE this series, and Ms. Samantha Chase saved the best for last (in my humble opinion)!!! Charlotte and Julian, OMFG!!! Their story….sigh!! Don’t get me wrong, each and every book in this series has been phenomenal, but One More Moment….. It just struck a cord, or rather a drum beat, for me… Sigh
Ms. Chase has captured moments of Julian’s story in the previous books from this series. NO, you do not HAVE to read the others (but you should) before you read this one, if you do, you will have a better understanding of just what Julian went through before the start of his story.
What a b… er witch!! WHY, HOW could you have done this? You had a man who loved you, would do anything for you!!! And, let me just say this….. I LOVED what Julian did at the wedding! One word: comeuppance!!! Sorry ladies, you need to read the book to find out what and who I am talking about. No Spoilers from me.
Now, Julian has left EVERYTHING behind for a while. She made him a laughing stock, in his mind anyway…
Charlotte, I LOVE THIS LADY!!! She would do pretty much any thing for someone in need. She fights for the families she encounters in her job. The day when she goes for coffee and the man ahead of her can’t pay for his coffee and muffin, she buys his breakfast with her own. He argues with her and she tells him to pay it forward next time. Julian, yep, Julian figures Charlotte just wants something from him. Surprise, Charlotte does not know who he is, or rather does not recognize him. When Julian realizes this, he really wants to get to know her. The more he is with her, the harder he/she falls.
One of my favorite lines in the book….. “The book was better.”. Sorry ladies, again, read the book, you will laugh about this too.
Now, I am sad. Why you ask? I am going to miss these people. Hopefully, maybe, Ms. Chase will write a follow-up novella and let us know how these guys are doing… I know, wishful thinking. When you read One More Moment, and the others as well, do Ms. Chase and me a favor please. Write a note to Ms. Chase’s Sourcebooks publicist and let them know how much you enjoyed these books. I am sure Ms. Chase will really appreciate it.

Thank you for reading my review.
Finally Julian’s story!!! Julian has been the band member that’s intrigued me the most all series long and finally it’s his turn! I love the mistaken identity trope but so often it just doesn’t really work or it becomes page after page of “come on already!” But Samantha Chase weaves not only the perfect story for Julian but for Charlotte too in One More Moment. Just as every other book I’ve read from Chase, One More Moment was the perfect blend of humor, emotion, honesty, intimacy, and, of course, happily ever after!
ONE MORE MOMENT is the third (and final ?) instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult BAND ON THE RUN romance series focusing on the members of the rock band Shaughnessy. This is the rock band Shaughnessy’s drummer Julian Grayson, and vocational rehabilitation counsellor Charlotte Clark’s story line. ONE MORE MOMENT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for background and cohesion. The BAND ON THE RUN series is a spin-off from the author’s SHAUGHNESSY BROTHERS series.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Julian and Charlotte) ONE MORE MOMENT focuses on the building relationship between Shaughnessy’s drummer Julian Grayson, and vocational rehabilitation counsellor Charlotte Clark. Three months earlier Julian stood at the altar waiting for his bride to be, a woman who was about to pay the piper for years of infidelity and humiliating our story line hero. Fast forward to present day wherein Julian returns from three months on the road, going everywhere and nowhere, only to return to an empty house in Malibu with nothing to do. A quick trip to a local coffee shop finds Julian coming face to face with his future, a woman who believes Julian to be homeless and down on his luck. Enter social worker /vocational rehabilitation counsellor Charlotte Clark, and the woman with whom Julian will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship and love between Charlotte and Julian, and the potential fall-out as Julian begins to revert back to a familiar pattern but a pattern that now includes a permanent time-off from the band that he loves.
Charlotte Clark is a social worker who wants to save everyone including the stranger she meets at her favorite coffee shop, a stranger who calls to Charlotte like a moth to a flame. Charlotte has no idea as to Julian’s true identity although he wasn’t quite forthcoming with his current predicament. Julian Grayson is anything but homeless but is willing to accept Charlotte’s help in order to keep himself busy for the foreseeable future. Helping out at the shelter means ‘paying it forward’ but paying it forward in order to be closer to the woman with whom he is falling in love. As Julian’s mood and emotional drama improve his friends suggest getting the band back together for another tour not realizing Julian has no plans to go back out on the road.
The relationship between Julian and Charlotte is one of immediate attraction but an attraction tempered by Charlotte’s mistaken belief in Julian’s status. When the truth is finally revealed Julian and Charlotte’s slow building romance turns into something more until Charlotte begins to push a little too hard, as Julian is unable to move on from the past. The $ex scenes fade to black and are mostly implied.
All of the previous story line characters and couples play secondary and supporting roles including all of the members of the rock band Shaughnessy. Julian’s band mates are desperate for Julian’s return but Julian’s heart isn’t in it for the long haul.
ONE MORE MOMENT is a story of family, friendship, trust and love. The premise is realistic and heart warming; the romance is passionate and sweet; the characters are broken and energetic. ONE MORE MOMENT is an emotional, inspiring and sensual look at a second chance at love for one man who struggles to trust and love again.
WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! I was totally blown away while riding a roller coaster of emotions while reading One More Moment by Samantha Chase. Ms. Chase really knows how to create a loving story between a tortured soul and a do-gooder. Julian was a broken man in need of a change in his life after escaping and ending his toxic relationship with Dena. Meeting social worker Charlotte who wanted nothing from him was a breath of fresh air. The major problem was Julian was still angry, unsettled, and could not find his happy place without Charlotte being with him. Charlotte knew she could not be the therapist Julia needed, but she could enjoy being his girlfriend and getting him to open up. I loved how volunteering at the homeless shelter affected Julian, giving him an inner peace he needed. Getting additional musicians volunteering there was quite rewarding to those volunteering as well as the staff there. I really loved how Charlotte being a do-gooder and optimist was so opposite of her assertive side and sexual appeal to Julian. I also loved how all four band member, and their spouses, were included and involved with this story. This last book of the series might just be the best one yet. In the words of Charlotte, “PAY IT FORWARD.”
Ms. Chase wrote a delightful story; filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. This book was a wonderful story from start to finished, with an amazing HEA that contained lots of love, laughter, emotion, and tears. I’m quite sad that this series is done. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
One More Moment by Samantha Chase in the third book in her Band on the Run series, but the first I read and loved it! I am definitely going back and reading the previous books! This story was unexpectedly sweet and charming.
Julian Grayson is tired and needs a break. He loves his band, but with a cheating fiancé and always being in the spotlight, he needed to get away. And when a friendly woman offers to pay for his coffee when he forgot his wallet, he thinks she has ulterior motives. All Charlotte wants to do is help a man she thinks may be in need. So begins a journey that will change both of their lives!
Charlotte is friendly, sweet and loves to help others when she can. She is all heart. Julian, being disillusioned right now, does not react the way she expected. But what she does not know is who this man truly is, and he is taken off guard by that. People always want something from him and she is so refreshing!
I really enjoyed reading One More Moment by Samantha Chase. For a story about a musician, it was truly sweet and adorable read. I loved the characters so much and their story. I am excited to read the previous books!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Amazing, this is a book that I could not put down. Loved Charlotte and Julian. Julian is taking a break from life until he meets Charlotte, the fixer of everything. Charlotte now has her job cut out to to help Julian realize what he needs to do to move forward in his personal and professional life.
Loved, loved Charlotte!! She is so sweet, simple and just wants to make the world a better place to live. She is not into all the fancy parts of life. She just wants to “pay it forward”. Julian is so wounded on the inside. He needs to heal himself before he can move forward, and not loose the one person he really cares for, Charlotte.
This story is so sweet but still sexy. Loved catching up with the rest of band members. Most likely the best prologue that I have ever read!! This is my favorite of the Band on the Run books. I highly recommend!!
LOVED this!! When I say this story will grab you right from the start believe it! Then there’s Julian and Charlotte. These characters were so fun they just made me smile. I enjoyed how they meet and as time goes by you can just feel the passion between them. Recently Julian has been disillusioned by the events in his life but Charlotte is the ray of sunshine he’s needed. Her positive outlook and giving nature fills him with hope. He soon finds himself questioning all his life decisions. It takes his bandmates and Charlotte to get him to see all the wonder life is putting right in front of him if he will just take the chance.
This one needs to go on the must read list. I highly recommend it.
Samantha Chase neatly ties up the end of the Shaughnessy Family Series and the Band on the Run series with this poignant story of Julian and Charlotte. The story is intimate with heartfelt conversations. Julian is struggling and Charlotte becomes his touchstone that guides him away from smashing into the rocks. In return he gives her his heart, soul and body. There is plenty of heat to go around as they explore each other’s bodies and become as close as only two people in love can be. You can read this book as a stand-alone, but personally I would suggest that you start at the beginning of the series. You won’t regret it.
One More Moment is book 3 in the Band on the Run Series which is also a spin off from the Shaughnessy Brothers and I have say this book certainly didn’t pan out the way I thought it would. When drummer Julien Grayson walks away from his bride at the altar it seems the band may have run their course as he decides he needs a break from friends family and fame to contemplate his future. Julien meets Charlotte when he is in a line for coffee only to realise he has forgotten his wallet and when Charlotte offers to pay it forward and buy his coffee he is convinced she must have recognised him and she must have ulterior motives but Julien can’t forget the instant attraction he felt for the girl trying to buy him a coffee and he finds himself at the coffee shop each morning at the same time which has Charlotte thinking this guy must be homeless…….
This is a love story about a man who is intense and serious and a woman who is cheerful sweet and sassy can the two opposites make their relationship work especially when one of them is not prepared to give up their heart completely. This book isn’t just about love and attraction it’s about healing and learning that love will often happen when we least expect it. This book has all the feels you want or need in a story it has characters you can’t help loving and it’s a great addition to one of my favourite series.
I love how Julian and Charlotte met. I thought that it was pretty funny that she didn’t know who he was and actually thought he was down on his luck or possibly homeless. She fell in love with him for what he was not who he was!
I was surprised that Dena showed back up in the story but it gave Julian the best possible closure that he needed. She definitely deserved everything she got on her wedding day – she was no one without him!
I enjoy reading a lot of Samantha Chase’s books because she likes to at least mention little old NC – and that’s where I live!
I loved the third installment of The Band on the Run series.
I think Julian and Charlotte are my favorite couple. Julian has trust issues and Charlotte wants to help everyone. Watching them figure out how to make those things work together is so much fun. Ms. Chase does an amazing job as usual with the story even updating you on the characters from past stories. Phenomenal.
This was an absolute delight! Charlotte Clark is waiting for coffee behind a disheveled looking man who is grumbling and when he gets to the front of the line and orders he realizes he forgot his wallet. She offers to pay for his coffee when she orders his and he is angry and dismayed and follows her out of the coffee shop. Julian Grayson has never gotten anything before without someone asking for something in return. He is insistent she wants something. Charlotte is convinced he is homeless and just wants to help. He is actually a rock star who has been running from his life for the past 3 months. What follows is a remarkable love story that renews our faith in others. Charity given for the sake of just a good deed with nothing expected in return is the best thing and we really do reap what we sow. This is the end of this series and since I have not read the rest of the series I was not lost. I did read several of the Shaughnessy books and loved those. I think it is time to go back and finish that series and find the rest of this one.
One More Moment is one of those books that once you dive in, you are in it clutches! It’s and intriguing and enticing read! The characters are believable and you feel like you could be their friends.
Julian and Charlotte meet at a coffee house when she pays for his breakfast after he forgot his wallet. Julian is irked to say the least. He can pay for his own damn stuff! He immediately thinks Charlotte knows he is the drummer from a famous band and naturally wants something from him. Truth be told, Charlotte was just being nice-she has no clue who he is.
Charlotte is a vocational rehabilitation counselor and helps the homeless get their lives back in order. Through shelters, jobs-help of any kind. Charlotte assumed Julian was homeless and just needed some help, He certainly looked the part-all disheveled and of course, no wallet. She is just kind like that. The pay it forward type!
Julian is the drummer for a world famous rock band. When he realizes Charlotte truly doesn’t know who he is, he likes it, and doesn’t out himself just yet! She is a breath of fresh air and he doesn’t quite know how to react. All he knows is that he cannot stop thinking about her, and wants to see her again.
This book was very engaging! Julian and Charlotte are a very straightforward couple. I think they meshed well. Julian had very public problems to deal with, and with Charlotte’s social worker background, was a good compliment.
I hadn’t read the other books in the Band On The Run series, but it did not hamper reading this book. If you are a sucker for rock stars, then this is your summer ticket! It was a fun read!
If one word could sum up this book, it might be “unexpected.” Many of us have the memory of a small, seemingly random act that turned into more than we imagined. When vocational counselor Charlotte Clark buys a coffee for the guy ahead of her in line, she thinks he’s in the same dire straits as her clients, possibly even homeless. She tells him not to worry about repaying her, but to pay it forward. After a few more not-so-random encounters they get to know each other a little better. Imagine Charlotte’s surprise when Julian eventually reveals he’s Julian Grayson, drummer for the famous rock band, Shaughnessy.
The early copy I read of this book was my first by this author, and for me it was certainly unexpected. I figured I was reading another common romance in a vast, cluttered sea of them. I anticipated a few hours of escape and that the characters would leave my mind as soon as I was on to the next book. Instead, Charlotte and Julian snuck into my heart and now refuse to leave. These characters were a delightful, evocative, spellbinding, heart-gripping surprise.
Charlotte is such an amazingly good person that her goodness infuses everything she does. She’s content with her ordinary life and finds satisfaction in the good she can do for her clients and seeing the difference her assistance makes in their lives. She’s genuine, down to earth and compassionate and her natural inclination and training make it impossible for her to not try to help others in need. Of course these are all things that draw Julian to her.
Now Julian is a different story. He’s a pretty colossal mess during most of the book, and one of my favorite lines is when Charlotte tells him “I loved you when you were being completely unlovable.“ In Julian’s defense, he’s had some pretty carpy stuff happen, with his girlfriend of five years using him for his fame and money and cheating on him most of those five years, but he didn’t help his case with the publicly humiliating way he ended things. He also didn’t help his relationship with his band mates, who’ve been like brothers to him, by running away for three months and then turning his back on music. He has a lot of anger, even rage, to work out and his preferred coping mechanism is avoidance. He also tends to fall back on old relationship practices that may have worked with his fiancée but have the opposite effect with a very different Charlotte.
Charlotte and Julian are the most believable, complex, endearing characters I’ve read in quite a while. Ms. Chase made them so authentic and realistic I felt like I knew them personally and was completely invested in seeing them get their forever, as I would be for any good friend. She also exemplifies something I wish a lot of authors would figure out. The reader’s connection to and investment in the characters come from the depth of the emotional connection between the two characters, which may or may not include detailed sexy times in the bedroom. Have no doubt, these two have some deep emotions that tugged my heart all over the place, and their chemistry is so smoking hot it’s impossible for the reader to miss. Because of this, I found the story fully complete and satisfying even without the bedroom details. In some ways, I think it made the connection between the characters stronger since the focus was on their interactions, their thoughts and their feelings.
One More Moment breaks the mold and shatters any preconceived notions of the rock star romance trope. There is little of the rock band trappings, and Julian is definitely an atypical rock star. But after spending a good portion of the book wallowing in anger and trapped in the past, he manages to redeem himself in an epic way, giving a whole new meaning to “pay it forward.” It was amazingly beautiful to see and filled my heart so full I thought it would burst. All of his internal fighting and wrestling and being stuck just made his figuring things out and overcoming his demons that much more rewarding. If you’re looking for something fresh, inspiring, captivating, unique and unexpected, you’ll love this book. But be warned, Charlotte and Julian will undoubtedly steal your heart.
Wow! Samantha Chase is not only an amazing author she is also my favorite author. Her writing is beyond perfection. She always gives her audience just what they want. She always makes her characters realistic with relatable and realistic struggles so her readers can easily identify. Samantha Chase captivates her audience from page one and keeps them captivated all throughout the book. Samantha Chase is a gift to readers and book lovers everywhere. Samantha Chase is a true artist. She can not only tell a great story but can paint the story in your mind. That’s true talent. Pure talent in the rarest form.
In One More Moment we finally get Julian’s story and boy was it amazing. Julian Grayson is a rockstar and a member of the Shaughnessy band. Julian suffers a heartbreak which changes everything about him. Julian has a lot of struggles. Enter Charlotte Clark. Charlotte is truly a good person. She is genuinely kind, selfless, sincere and compassionate. She always helps others in need. So naturally when she sees Julian with no wallet and messy looking she tries to help. Julian soon discovers she has no idea who he really is and that’s when things really heat up. Charlotte and Julian have pure and real chemistry. It’s undeniable.
There was not one aspect I didn’t love about One More Moment. Julian and Charlotte were so believable. One More Moment is unique in many ways. Julian and Charlotte were very realistic and relatable. I really felt like I knew Julian and Charlotte. I felt as if I were there watching everything and a part of it. I loved their connection. It was undeniable. Even mesmerizing. The best thing is Samantha showed us rock stars are just everyday normal people with everyday struggles that other people have. Samantha Chase captivated my heart and soul from page one. I became emotionally invested. I laughed and had heartswooning moments. I loved that we got to see heartbreak from a man’s point of view. I really loved that we saw trust issues and hurt and anger coming from not only a guy but a rockstar also. One More Moment was so sweet and just fabulous. Truly beyond perfection. Samantha Chase is a true gem. One More Moment is an amazing read and one that will be remembered for all time. Well done Samantha Chase. You truly saved the best for last. One More Moment was so good I read it all the way in one sitting and then read it a second time. Just think it all started with a cup of coffee. Grab your copy and fall in love with Samantha Chase and One More Moment as myself and other’s have.
I’ve read so many of Samantha Chase’s books. Does she EVER disappoint me? No! This is just another five star read to add to her belt. Chase has this magical way of creating an original love story that touches the reader from beginning to end!
Another book in a terrific series …. PLEASE tell me this isn’t the last book in the series!!!!
Wow! Julian is one of my favorite characters in this series, which is saying a lot because they are all so good!!!
Once again, Ms. Chase brings terrific characters and a tight storyline to this series.
Julian and Charlotte meet over coffee. He’s battling a tough and very public breakup while Charlotte is trying to find extras (time, money, donations) for the charity. While Julian and Charlotte start out to be in opposite corners of just about everything (time, money, fame), they quickly realize that together, their problems disappear.
This book has heart warming dialogue, sizzling chemistry, sweetness in the characters, and a need for redemption. Both characters realize that they have something to offer each other. If you’ve read the other books in the series, you’ll see glimpses of the other characters that I’ve come to love.
The ending pulled everything together in a big, bold, and way. This book is on my re-read shelf and is one I go to when I need to renew my faith in life.
If you are looking for a great book, this is it for you. You don’t need to read books 1 and 2 in order to enjoy this book, but you’ll really be missing out if you do.
Get this book. Settle in. Ignore your phone, emails, laundry, and cleaning.
