This is a “read in one sitting” book from Samantha Chase. You don’t want to miss it!
I love this series from the impeccable Samantha Chase! Her books always leave me smiling and happy.
I loved this book about Julian, the drummer in the Shaugnessy band & Charlotte. I found it intriguing that Charlotte didn’t know who he was, and mistook him for someone who needed help finding a job. Charlotte is a social worker & loves to help others & solve problems. When they meet Julian forgot his wallet in the coffee shop so Charlotte offered to pay for his order & he was super gruff & cranky with her. However he found it fascinating that she didn’t realize he was in a famous band. I loved their story & how they helped each other grow & change. I could not put this book down, I read it in one sitting.
A lighthearted fun romance with an engaging couple and a great supporting cast. A disillusioned rock star and a cutie that helps the unemployed, and in most cases unemployable, find jobs meet by chance and make a connection. Charlotte is a bit of a do-gooder and has no idea who Julian is. There’s some humor in thinking he’s s down on his luck and needs a job when he’s living in a Malibu mansion. Julian keeps the facade going and finds that helping others and being close to Charlotte is a good thing. But his past haunts him and he does few dumb things before he decides he can trust again. This really isn’t a rocker story but more of a sweet romance featuring a rocker star in hiding. It has a fairly predictable storyline with some drama thrown in to keep it going and is overall an entertaining read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC. 3.5 stars
One More Moment #3 in Band on the run, the Shaughnessy Brothers was my first book in the Shaughnessy Brothers series, and my first book by author Samantha Chase. I now want to read the rest in the series that I missed. I am not generally a rocker girl, but I fell in love with hero, Julian Grayson. I felt his pain, and Ms. Chase had me sympathetic to him right away. I loved how tight the guy’s in the band were. They really were like brother’s. Like I said, I definitely want to read the other guy’s stories. I really liked Charlotte, I loved how she helped people find employment, and get back on their feet. A career I haven’t seen for a heroine or hero, in a romance. I loved everything about the storyline. Loved how they met, their meet-cute. I didn’t want to put this book down, and will DEFINITELY be reading more from Ms. Chase.
Great story about a rock star drummer Julian, needs a break from everything going on in his life! When he comes back he meets a woman, Charlotte while in line for coffee! She makes an assumption, he doesn’t correct her and they just go from there!
These two connect and you get all the feels from them! I enjoyed the story so much I need to go back and read the others in the series! 5 stars grab this when it comes out!
A sweet, charming romance between two very unlikely people. Who knew buying a cup of coffee for someone could literally change your life!
You never know what will happen over a cup of coffee!
Format: Kindle Edition
This is another great addition, probably the last (sigh) in the Shaunessey series. This one is Julian, their drummer, who was taken advantage of by his fiancee and who has decided that because of this, he can no longer trust anyone he’d previously worked with — except his band — and therefore must give up his true love, the band. Enter Charlotte, a social worker and a truly nice and considerate person, who runs into him at a coffee shop on the day he returns from a three month self-exile looking like a homeless person. She buys him a coffee as she overheard him saying he’d forgotten his wallet, he blows up at her, she just looks at him and says she’s sorry but if he really can afford it, then pay it forward.
The writing is great — you really can believe in these characters and you both celebrate and grieve with them. The other three band members – Riley, Matt, and Dylan — and their wives are there as well; all of the above, and Mick the manager of course, are very instrumental helping Julian realize he’s not alone, no one is laughing at him, there are people in the world who are way worse off, and that it’s not necessary to buy something for someone to make them, actually him, feel better; that words and actions pay off more. Charlotte also realizes that she can take time for herself, and that she can’t save the world no matter how hard she tries. She just has to let Julian figure out his problems by himself.
Rock on! It’s always a joy to revisit the guys of Shaughnessy and get the lowdown on what’s going on in all of their lives, and it’s especially special to get updates on the Shaughnessy family that we’ve loved over the years. Julian was different than I was expecting him to be … mostly because he hit a wall and had to face the mess his life had become before we got to know his story instead of coming in when he was in his spotlight. I didn’t connect with him as much as I have some of the other guys, but I still enjoyed his story and watching him work the long road towards his happily ever after. Really great series!
Julian Grayson has been hiding from his life for months now, but he’s finally taking the step to move forward again by coming home. His life has revolved around being the drummer of rock band Shaughnessy for so years, so when his personal life took a dive in a public spectacle, he felt the need to walk away from it all. He’s back … but he’s not sure he can ever stomach being a public entity anymore. Meeting Charlotte, who doesn’t know him from Adam, gives him the chance to be anonymous for once, and he has to admit, he likes it!
Charlotte Clark meets a guy at a coffee shop who she perceives as being down on his luck. It’s exactly the type of person that she’s made it her life’s work to help, so she’s happy to add Julian to her list. The more time they spend together, the more they start to like each other and lean further into each other’s lives, but she has no idea who he is … and when she does find out, she’s spitting mad!
Highly entertaining, sweetly sexy, emotionally thrilling and action packed romantic adventure that left me breathless…… perfect summer afternoon in the backyard sipping on a cold drink relaxing time.
Julian Grayson is burnt out on fame and enjoying hiding in plain sight….. Charlotte Clark is sweet, sexy, compassionate and completely charming Julian even though she does not seem to know who he is. Was hook from the first chapter and loved every captive moment.
I really enjoyed this one. The one thing that really stood out to me was the message of hope through out the book. To me this was an uplifting book along with the romance. I just loved Charlotte. The way she wants to help everyone. She has such a big heart, but you can also see the toll it takes on her emotionally. Charlotte and Julian truly need one another because they bring a happy light into each other’s lives. It’s not going to be easy because Julian is questioning everything in his life right now, but with the help of his band mates and Charlotte he may find a happy medium to give his life a meaning/purpose. I really liked Julian and Charlotte together. They have a ton a chemistry, but they also compliment each other so well. This a book that brings the feels and emotion.
This was a good read for me! I love finding a new author who can grab my attention from the start! The writing flowed well, and I thought the characters were fully developed. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but that didn’t affect the flow of the story. It was hard for me to like Julian for a while. I felt like he was throwing himself a never ending pity party, and he didn’t want anyone to point out that he was doing it to himself. It takes Julian A LONG time to come to terms with everything that happened to him, and Charlotte gets dumped on in the mean time. I liked Charlotte, I thought she was a good h. She knew when to push and when to walk away. The ending was perfect for these characters. I will definitely be looking for more from this author!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
One More Moment is the first book by Samantha Chase that I have read, but it is the third in her Band On the Run series. I am definitely going back to read the first two!
This is a sweet love story between Julian, who is extremely lost after a bad public breakup, and Charlotte, with a heart of gold. She doesn’t know that he is in a famous rock band. He thinks everyone just want something from him, but when Charlotte finally proves him wrong he still has some emotional healing to get through in order to finally be worthy to truly open his heart to her and go back to what he loves to do, make music.
Julian Grayson has given us a Prologue that’s quite the experience – one you need to enjoy for yourselves. This shows that the author knows exactly what will catch her reader’s attention. Charlotte Clark is all about helping people and I get the sense that she really loves what she does. I love the peace she finds when she goes to the beach. It was a great way for me to connect with her character – I also love that sense of peace. The story left me hoping that there’s someone out there helping people and being as caring as she is.
Mick is a man who impressed me. He seemed to have Julian’s back right when he needed it. He anticipated what Julian needed in order to move forward. Even though he is a secondary character, he seems to be in a scene at just the right time.
This book was a welcome surprise. But that’s not to say that it didn’t have its moments. Especially when a time came where I felt that I should hate Julian. Charlotte is just one of those people that is genuine – what you see is what you get. That’s opposite of the impression I get from Julian.
Our author knows how to write some really sexy scenes – all without giving us everything. That means she leaves it up to the reader to fill in the blanks. She makes her scenes flow nicely, they seem believable, and she gets us involved in a small way – we get to see everything unfold. This book seems to be written as a standalone. With Julian belonging to a band some might think that because his mates appear here that the previous two books would need to be read first. Not so here. They make enough of appearance so you get that sense of camaraderie.
I looked at all the books this author has written and realized that I have not read any of her work. I didn’t even have a book in my TBR list. This book has changed that. She will now be one of those authors that I will go to when I have one of those days that end with me wanting to get lost in a book. Plus since I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, the first thing I’ll probably do is catch up on this series.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review
Samantha Chase writes series that grab you and don’t let go, and her Band on the Run series is no
exception. One More Moment wraps up the series and tells the story of Julian Grayson, the drummer for the Shaughnessy band. After his off/on relationship ends with a bang, Julian is a runaway groom. He takes time out to try and deal with the betrayal and make some hard decisions about his future.
Julian meets Charlotte at a coffee shop when she offers to pay for his order since he forgot his wallet. Does she want something from Julian Grayson, rock star? No, she sees a rumpled, unshaven man, who appears to be down on his luck, and doesn’t know he’s famous. Charlotte is a vocational counselor who helps people find jobs and get back on their feet. and her intuition tells her Julian is adrift.
“Believe it or not, it’s taking the first step that truly is the hardest. We tend to build up these scenarios of self-doubt in our minds and think we can’t possibly overcome the hard circumstances and it paralyzes us.”
While Charlotte is referring to the homeless that she helps, her words ring true for Julian as well. Having been raised not to be quitter, he had done everything to make his relationship work. The betrayal caused self-doubt and left him unable to trust.
The relationship between Charlotte and Julian starts at a slow simmer but progresses quickly once they give in to their mutual attraction. Being with Charlotte helps Julian learn to trust and be open to love again. Julian’s bandmates, are also great sounding boards as he works through his issues.
Chase’s wonderful writing style and engaging characters kept my interest throughout the book. While she develops the relationship between Charlotte and Julian, we also get updated on Dylan, Matt, Riley and their spouses, as well as Riley’s siblings from the Shaughnessy Brothers series. I really think the band manager, Mick, deserves a story too!
Wow. I loved Julian’s story. I had been anxiously waiting to finally read his and now that I have I’m kinda sad there’s not going to be anymore from this series. Saving Julian’s for last was great because his story was oh so good. Honestly it would be hard to top how his story begins. It was hilarious, makes you want to read til the end and just wow. I highly recommend this one!

Holy. Fuck. I am a huge lover of all books by Samantha Chase and she has totally knocked it out of the park with One More Moment.
Julian is recovering from a broken heart when he meets Charlotte. Charlotte has no idea who Julian is when they meet and Julian is less than inviting. Julian believes that Charlotte knows who he is and she just wants something from him. When he finally realizes Charlotte does not know him, he becomes a bit more responsive. Of course Charlotte thinks he is homeless and does her best to help him, even getting him to volunteer at a homeless shelter.
When Julian finally reveals to Charlotte who he is, he is in for a surprise. Why? Because she does not care! From then on they start dating and Julian has to find out what kind of woman Charlotte is. Charlotte is not one for gifts or money being spent on her like the women Julian is used too. Charlotte is great for Julian but he is just so closed off due to past experience.
The passion they share is intense but oh so good. There are not any sex scenes as they are faded to black but it is still oh so good! I love how they complement each other and Charlotte does her best to help Julian overcome his past. They do have their ups and downs like any other couple and Julian has to come to terms that Charlotte is different.
If you have yet to read anything by Samantha Chase, I highly encourage you to buy any of her books as she is amazing!! One More Moment is on my top ten favorite reads so far this year!!
Charlotte is a character that I can relate to. If I saw a band member at a coffee shop I would probably not know who they were and would happily offer to pay for their coffee if they didn’t have their wallet without expectations. Then I would be curious about the person, just because that is the type of person that I am. I love that Charlotte was clueless, I disliked that Julian didn’t come clean with her right away. Yet, I understood why he felt he had to protect who he was and keep his identity a secret; too many people have expectations when they find out that a person has fame and money.
I have read all the Band on the Run books so far. Each book is a different band member’s story. The non-featured band members all make appearances in each other books giving the reader a chance to catch up on the happenings of their lives. I got to learn about the weddings, the babies, and where their lives are now while learning about a new band member.
This is a fun series. You get a glimpse into the life of a successful band and how that success can affect the band members. It is also a good reminder that while they are celebrities, they are real people with normalish lives also.
