Loved this story. This is a love story, simple as that. Milena and Cal are so sweet together and to read the way Cal loves her is just so special. To read Milena coming into her own is just refreshing and wonderful. There are twists and turns along the way but that is what you expect with a love story. Loved it!
I haven’t read the previous books in this series and I am so sorry that I haven’t because this book was awesome. I didn’t feel lost in this story but I definitely want to know more about these characters as soon as possible!!
Cal has returned home from Australia to star as his brother, Ian, in a new TV show. He isn’t necessarily looking for love after being burned by and breaking up with his ex. When he runs into Milena, the attraction is instant and the pull to be with her is strong. Milena is finally gaining some self esteem after moving on from her horrible ex but doesn’t quite believe model Cal is really interested in her. Their relationship is built on showing each other all of the amazing things about one another.
Even though there are lots of actors in this story, there’s a surprising lack of drama. I loved the instant connection between Cal and Milena and the supportiveness of both of their families. There has not been a single book by this author that I haven’t enjoyed and this one is no exception. Once I started I wasn’t able to put it down. I can’t wait to go back and read the first two books so I can visit this family again.
Cal McCormick. He’s the latest, and youngest, McCormick whose story is told in One More Moment. Even though we read that he is only 23 years old, I’d have to say he strikes me as an old soul. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a (McCormick) ‘boy’ and makes silly missteps when it comes to relationships, but he really came across as thoughtful and caring, and thought more than about just himself. And when he spots Milena Hill (it is again, as they met when they were much younger)? He is pretty much lost from minute one.
Milena is still working on her self-worth after battling weight problems and self-dislike AND a nasty ex. She has no idea why Cal would be interested in her. Of course, Cal thinks she is gorgeous, and a wonderful person. Herein lays their story, about their journey towards their HEA.
There are some major bumps in their courtship but it is a story told with much feeling and heart. My first reaction is to say, “Awwwwwwwwwww!” because these two make me smile. Love Cal, identify with Milena (what woman doesn’t), and the cast of characters in this series make me smile. And the brothers come through for one another, always. Loved this story, it is a standalone, but you will enjoy it so much more if you read the others in the series. It’s always fun to visit with other characters I’ve read before.
