That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie.Three things Dr. Dick knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly … pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.
Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.
Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

I purchased a copy of the steamy novel One Moment Please:Wait with Me series book 3 by Amy Daws and this review was given freely.
A story of guilt, healing, love and new beginnings. Sarcastic, flirty and unfiltered conversations between good friends Linsey and Kate and Dean fill the pages of this poignant opposites attract romance were the strong irritation between soon to graduate Pediatric Psychologist Lynsey Jones and the surly and taciturn Doctor Josh “Dick” Richardson leads to a night of passion and an unplanned pregnancy with a man who sworn off kids.
This story is just what the doctor ordered. The best kind of story to dive into for an escape. One Moment Please is a fun and very funny RomCom. It features
a one night stand,
a surprise pregnancy,
a hot, grumpy doc who has sworn off relationships
and a delightfully quirky heroine who completely steals the show.
“Guys are so dense sometimes.”
“Totally.”
“How can you remember what shoes you have if they aren’t scattered all over the house on display?”
This story is a standalone but I really enjoyed getting to catch up a bit with Kate & Miles and Maggie & Sam. This whole series shows us the fun side of this author and I’m liking it.
-4 Stars!-
Girl meets doctor, doctor is a total jerk… but they have sex anyway, because I mean, what is hotter than a little hate sex, amiright?!
Lynsey Jones is a graduate student innocently working on her thesis in a hospital cafeteria… (it helps her concentrate!!) when Dr. Dick arrives and ruins everything…
Dr. Josh Richardson takes one look at Lynsey and he knows that she is bad news, I mean, what kind of weirdo hangs out at the hospital?! Not one he wants to be around… or so he keeps telling himself…

One Moment Please was a hilarious and extremely sexy book that had me laughing, crying and, seriously, all over the place emotionally. Lynsey and Josh not only fall into bed with each other, but when their one night stand results in a surprise of it’s own, they will soon have to find out how to co-parent with a virtual stranger…
Lynsey was a categorical breath of fresh air! Smart, driven and uproariusly funny, she was the perfect match for the grouchy and irritable Josh. Finding out she is pregnant with a man whom she barely knows (and definitely doesn’t get along with), Lynsey does what she does best, and not only makes the best out of the situation, but fully embraces her pending parenthood status.
Josh is a hard man to get to know, but with his painful past still affecting his everyday existence, once Lynsey breaks through, his struggle will break your heart into tiny little pieces. But despite Josh’s many faults, even in his darkest moments, he devotes himself to caring for Lynsey and their baby-to-be.
I loved everything about this book! The plot was fresh and fabulous, the sex was H.O.T. and the characters were delightfully flawed and incredibly interesting. Lynsey and Josh have an anything-but-typical love story, and following them on their romantic comedy journey was the most fun I’ve had reading a book in a long time!
One Moment Please is book three in the unforgettable Wait With Me series, and I continue to adore each and every one of these characters from this always entertaining world!
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
*4.5 Stars*
This story had all of the makings for a successful read for me. It has one of my favorite tropes ever and is written by one of my one-click authors. I was laughing, tearing up, sighing, and even had me frustrated at moments.
Lynsey and Josh’s road to a happily ever is anything but easy, especially considering a baby is coming before the relationship. I really enjoyed their story and the fact that a forced proximity trope was thrown in to boot. While their story is mostly a rom-com, Josh suffers deeply from his past and it gets extremely real for him as he becomes a father-to-be.
The only thing I didn’t completely enjoy in this book was how truly over the top rude Dr. Dick was at times. Yes, he earned that name through and through but there were some moments that were a bit overboard for my liking.
I am seriously hoping for Dean to get his own story. He is such a good man even though he can be a player. He deserves his own happily after.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
I really enjoyed this brilliant story. One that was a great fit for this series and a wonderfully beautiful story that both Lynsey and Josh deserved. This book was filled with a crushing heartbreak that runs all through its pages.
This story had a secret that runs through it, one you know is gonna be bad, one that will change everything but you are unsure just which way it would go. So throughout you are waiting for the other shoe to drop.
We see Josh and Lynsey grow from enemies to something so special. I held my breath waiting for the past to catch up with these two and when I did, when I realised what happened, it broke me. It totally broke my heart but it was totally put back together by the ending.
This book is total a recommend from me. Prepare for loads of laughs and tears. Waiting for the real Dr Dick to show his face, is a great ride.
Laughs, Feels, and a HEA!
One Moment please is a rom com worth the wait! I’ll be honest with you, rom coms are a hard genre for me to read and enjoy. I can’t stand over the top or forced humor, but don’t worry Ms. Daws did a fantastic job of making the laughs effortless and fun. Lynsey and Josh aka “Dr. Dick” have an intriguing dynamic. They feed off of one another’s energy. The result is playfully antagonistic, hilarious banter and powder keg passion. I mean these two come together and boom…a baby is on the way. Josh’s closed off demeanor is in complete opposition to Lynsey’s way of embracing life and its challenges head on. The more time these two spend together, the more their layers are peeled away. Love is a powerful force that can be resisted, but won’t be denied. The conflict in this book is also multi-faceted. Not only do Josh and Lynsey have opposing views on relationships, they are both battling with their own internal vulnerabilities. The resolution that leads to their HEA is emotional, but it is also beautiful. This book made me laugh, cry, and savor the happily ever after!

Amy has certainly out done herself with One Moment Please. I thought I had a favorite with Blindsided and all the Harris men but now I have a special place in my heart for Dr. Dick!!!!
Lynsey is so adorably quirky, quite witted and sassy. She is finally ready to get on with her life . She has finished her thesis finding her writing groove in the most strangely unique setting …a hospital cafeteria . It was certainly by accident that she discovered her train of thought there while waiting for a family member during surgery. Once she realized the setting gave her creative juices a jump start she continued to come back.
Josh aka Dr. Dick is stoic, grumpy, and so not relationship material. He has a past that was terribly emotional and has made him the man he is today. He likes routine and things his own way. He recently has noticed this young woman it taking up a table in the cafeteria. He does some digging and discovers that she is not an employee and certainly not with a patient. He wants to know her story so he plops himself down at her table and begins the interrogation . What he is not prepared for is her sass, calling him out and her backbone . She certainly calls him out on his behavior and he may not realize it but he finds this extremely sexy !
There first encounter is funny, awkward and sets the stage for their sarcastic banter to ensue !!
When their paths cross once more at a bar the sarcastic witty banter only becomes more powerful .
Lynsey finally has had enough and gets up to go but Josh decides to see her out and share an uber with her ……..Let the Ride begin. It is a fine line between love and hate sex but the battle lines have been drawn !!
A night a steamy pleasure, a frantic getaway for Lynsey…..you know before it can get to awkward and no numbers exchanged .
Flash forward 3 months and Lynsey lands in Josh’s ER but that is not the biggest surprise they both discover at the same time they are going to he parents .
I loved watching this non relationship take shape and progress. They were emotional , uncertain, aggravating , steamy and just so wonderfully sweet together. Can this non-couple both survive this non relationship and give this baby two doting parents ??? I absolutely Loved their story!!

The moment has come and I absolutely knew that the wait would be totally worth it! You guys, I can’t tell you enough how incredibly hilarious Amy Daws is. Her romcoms slay every time. I love her and you will too! This is the newest edition to her Waiting series and I could not wait to get a hold of it! It’s a stand-alone, but I highly suggest reading the other two in the series, Wait with Me and Next in Line, as well so you can get to know all the characters. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to add a little Daws to your life!
Lynsey Jones and Josh Richardson, aka Dr. Dick, were everything I knew I wanted. Their story may have started off on the wrong foot…ahem, a moment of silence for our fallen slice of French Silk pie, but man what a way to go!…but it was epic! Josh is beautifully flawed, broken, and detached as his past haunts him. Until he finds Lynsey and their one nighter ends up a whole lifer. Lynsey is quirky, loveable, and strong in her convictions that Josh is so much more than he resigns himself to be. Ugh, I just love their story! Add in the rest of the gang and it’s like coming home.
*I received a free copy of One Moment Please. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*
I adored this novel! Lynsey was exactly my kind of heroine (and yeah, we had a charcuterie board for lunch today!) because she was so resilient. Josh was the perfect Dr. Dick, and I loved that Lynsey thought there was a true reason he was so closed off.
There’s a lot of humor here, even if there are also some darker themes that are tackled. However, the friendship between Lynsey and Kate, plus how Max does his best to be a friend for Josh also made the darker themes easier to deal with.
The writing is good – the present tense made me feel very connected with the story and the characters. The character development was awesome – both for Lynsey and for Josh. It’s a big YES from me 🙂

It’s been a while since I have been so looking forward to a new release and just wanted to read the day away. And that’s exactly what I did this Good Friday. It helps the world is in a medical pandemic at the moment but this is just the book to escape into. Amy Daws has a way of lifting your heart with loads of humor and a little bit of angst thrown in for a well rounded story.
We met Lynsey in the previous books. She’s the bestie to Kate from book one. She is trying her own version of working in a waiting room, but hers is at the local hospital. She seems to have caught the attention of one doctor in particular who’s not overly happy she’s using a table in his cafeteria. After some heated words she heads home to get ready for a night out. Who should she run into at the bar…. Dr Dick who still can’t stop being grumpy. After sharing an uber ride home, they end up together in Josh’s bed. Fast forward three months and they meet again in the Emergency Room where they find out more than they were expecting.
Josh has experienced loss that has changed his outlook on life. It also changed his specialty in medicine. He is closed off and a total crouch, but he sees a quality in Lynsey that could be something more. He just needs to let go of his past demons and fully invest in what they have. She is worth the pain to get that break through for. They made a great couple and it was fun to witness their love story. I felt if anyone deserved happiness, it was Josh. He was a bit of a twisted sole but I understood why. And to see him find everything he truly deserved was amazing. Lynsey too warranted more than what Josh was offering at first. She wasn’t aiming for a grand gesture but she got one that I loved. I feel anyone who loves surprise baby, second chance romances should grab this one.
As soon as I heard Amy Daws was writing another book in the Wait With Me world I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of this gem and I was not disappointed. Dr. Dick and Lynsey’s story is cute and just what I needed right now during these crazy times. Amy Daws is always a must read and One Moment Please is not exception. So do yourself a favor and grab this story you will love it!!
I am honestly speechless right now. This book had a little bit of everything and just might be my favorite in this series. While the other two were fantastic, there was something undeniably riveting about Josh and Lynsey.
Josh was a man who was hurting, depressed and withdrawn. He comes off as a jerk, but does have a few moments where you see that he is a caring person, but doesn’t know how or want to show it. As the book goes on, your learn about his tragic past and can sympathize and understand his reasoning, yet see that he does in fact love Lynsey, even though he doesn’t think he can or does.
Lynsey is a motivated, fun woman who knows what she wants in life. When Josh and she meet for the first time, it isn’t very nice. The second isn’t much better, but it leads to them having a one night stand. The morning after is hilarious. Three months later, he tells her that she is pregnant and the games begin.
Their chemistry is off the charts. The relationship and how they get to know each other was wonderful. His back story was heartbreaking and the resolution was sad, yet poignant. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this book and I hope we all get a book about Kate and Lynsey’s best friend, Dean. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
There isn’t a single book by this author that doesn’t just make me FEEL. From the biggest of devastations to the most beautiful kind of joy and all the in between moments. Those that make you angry, or sad. The ones that get you so frustrated you wanna throw away your kindle. Or the ones were butterflies fill your belly to the point of no return. I swooned, I cried, I got angry, I fell in love. I went through every possible emotion while reading this story.
That’s the thing about Lynsey and Josh’s story. It’s so weird, so crazy and so unique, but it makes sense because they have without doubt a wonderful connection, a sizzling chemistry and a ton of other details that make them perfect for each other. And even though you’ll want to punch Josh in the guts for the way he behaves, you’ll probably end up crying your heart out for him.
I lived for these characters and their amazing friends.
Heartwarming, funny and sweet.
4.5 French Silk Pies!!
As soon as this book was announced it became one of my top most anticipated reads of 2020! Wait With Me and Next In Line are two of my favorite reads so I could not contain my excitement when this book landed on my kindle! Once I started it I couldn’t get enough of this book and there was no way that I was going to put it down until I reached the end. I absolutely loved this story!
From their memorable beginning to the wrap around my heart moments and everything in between, Lynsey and Josh’s journey is one of a kind! They brought out all of my emotions from the very first chapter all the way to end which I loved!
The deeper I got into this book and the characters minds I connected with them even more. Oh, how I fell head over heels for Lynsey and Josh!
With One Moment Please, Ms.Daws has created an unputdownable and unique read packed with ALL the feels! I can always count on her books to brighten my day! This new favorite left me with the biggest smile on my face. I’ll never forget it!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
I just finished One Moment Please by Amy Daws, and it is the BEST of the bunch in my opinion. In the midst of reading ARCs for other authors, I’ve been binge-reading/listening to Amy Daws. I need a little rom-com break from time to time, and I knew One Moment Please was coming so I decided to read the first two books in this series. And they were everything you love in a good rom-com: heroes who are a little emotionally immature but a strong, quirky heroine who challenges them to “fall,” lots of fantastic smirky banter, and a story that is equal parts sweet, sexy, and sentimental. Then, Daws gives us One Moment Please, and I feel like she upped her game.
This one is heavier emotionally than the first two books of the group. The hero, Josh “Dr. Dick” Richardson, is much more complex than the blurb allows. Obviously, people who use disdain and seem unapproachable have erected walls against something. And that is definitely the case with Josh. With every exceptional rom-com, the heroine, in this case, Lynsey, will have the Erector Set to demolish those walls. However, as the reader, you know that we must go through the pain to find a happy ending. The depth of emotion in this story is surprising and my favorite part of this book. There is still plenty of Daws’s brand of humor, charcuterie boards, quirkiness, and awkward situations. Yet, it envelopes a story that quite frankly breaks your heart a little bit. This reader cried all the tears. In the end, though, the ending is so satisfying that it erases the hurt of the story.
I had a really crappy day today, and One Moment Please was the biggest bright spot of it. Once I started it, I didn’t do any work and read it straight through because it’s just that good. Josh is Dr. Dick, but he is so much more. Lynsey’s characterization is the brave awkward brand of heroine who can melt his icicle heart, though. Together, these two make the best kind of rom-com dream team.
How could you? You made me tear up. You made me want to reach into the book and strangle Dr Dick. You made me angry that he wouldn’t open up and talk about his issues with anyone. You made me feel for him. But the worst was you made me cry for him.
There are so many feelings in this book. So many emotions. A lot of fun. Some jealousy. And some downright hilarious moments.
This story was adorable and snarky in every way I expect an Amy Daws book to be. I got to see our buddies from earlier books move along in their relationships and gain new friendships as well. But man did I have a hard time with how unfeeling Dr. Dick was. It was hard to like him even by the end when all the ugly history was out there. Lynsey was able to lighten the situations regularly with her awkward weird comments and clumsiness but I couldn’t get as attached to him as I wanted to.
In the end One Moment Please is a romantic comedy that includes faulty condoms, french silk pie, pregnancy hormones and a tragic past that will tug on your heart strings.
