That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie.Three things Dr. Dick knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly … pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.
Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.
Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

One Moment Please by Amy Daws was the perfect book in this difficult times!! It made me remember why i love to read books, the story is amazing.
This is the story of Dr. Dick and Lynsey and i have to say a surprise preganncy is starting to be one of my favorite tropes, because it was such a joy to read this one.
Dr. Dick at first looks like a difficult guy who never show his feeling and Lynsey is a girl who always says what she thinks and when they find out about the pregnancy comes the fun, For Lynsey is to discover everything about to have a baby, and also start falling in love with her babby daddy but for Dr. Dick is more difficult because he had a really bad experience in his past that make him to not show her feeling, but once he start getting to know more about Lynsey his feeling for her cant keep hidding. So the question here is will he open his heart to Lynsey and start a really relantionship with her? or his past will be more important than anything?? If you want to know what happen and how this beautiful story ends. You need to read this book ASAP!! you will love it!!
Congratulations Amy for another amazing story!
5 out of 5 stars
Josh and Lynsey’s story was so fun. It was so heartfelt. It was rough at times. Overall their story was the perfect romance with just enough drama and comedy to make it wonderful!
This is my first book by this author, but I promise it won’t be my last. She was able to tell a heart-wrenching story in a way that made me smile through the tears. Josh’s past won’t let him fully fall in love and Lynsey can’t stop her psychoanalysis to move beyond it either. Both characters had flaws, but I think those flaws just made me love them all the more!
Even though I haven’t read the other books in this series, I did enjoy the banter and relationships that Lynsey (and Josh) had with her friends. Kate is crazy – I must go back and read her story stat! Dean was sometimes more than I could handle (I almost didn’t like him). Max was a good guy that did his best to help Josh.
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better book. I hope everyone will read and enjoy this story as much as I did!
Another book by this author that has a perfect combination of humour, hotness and Romance.
Frustrating characters, a page Turner of a story and sprinkled with heartwarming moments, I finished ONE MOMENT PLEASE with a happy sigh.
Dr Dick, aka Josh is one frustrating Doctor who following a one night stand with Lynsey ends up being a baby daddy.
A surprise pregnancy that both are ready to embrace and while Lynsey, Kate’s friend from the previous book WAIT WITH ME, is a hearts and flowers kind of girl and wants her relationship to develop into more with Josh, Dr Dick, just wants to do the right thing without letting himself get attached emotionally, been there done that suffered heartbreak and it ruined him.
What starts of as a one night stand moves to friends with benefits and then to Lynsey moving in with Josh which begins to develop into more for Lynsey as they try to make it work for the baby coming but Josh still holds back and is afraid to open up, let anyone in due to a past experience that broke him.
Its a make or break, a will it, won’t it work kind of scenario until something or someone’s has to give.
Another enjoyable read from Amy Daws.
Leads to hea and told in first person dual pov. Characters from previous books are also present in Josh and Lynsey’s story.
This is my first read from this author and I absolutely LOVE this book!! I am a sucker for an accidental pregnancy story and this one completely sucked me in. Not only was it funny, but it also had a depth of emotion I wasn’t expecting. I didn’t expect to cry while reading this book. But I did, and I loved every single second!!
The hero of this book is my absolute favorite kind of hero!! So grouchy, so formidable. I love him! He was such an a$$, the kind you want to slap but then also climb right on after. Everything about him was perfect to me. Lynsey is such a sweet woman. Her heart is so big and gosh she made me laugh. Together this couple is scorching hot. I could feel their connection right from the very start in that hospital cafeteria.
This book is a definite must read. Funny, a little emotional, and just the perfect read!!! I can’t wait to read more books from this author, I have a lot of catching up to do. Amy Daws has found herself a new reader/stalker, that’s for sure!
This is my voluntary arc review
Romantic comedies are addictive and Amy Daws definitely keeps her readers on their toes with another unexpected storyline that pulls on all of your heartstrings! Her stories are ALWAYS filled with laugh out loud moments and just the perfect amount of angst that leaves you swooning in overdrive the entire time you find yourself lost in the words and this awesome group of friends.
One Moment Please was one of the BEST surprise pregnancy romcoms that I have EVER read and I was so excited to FINALLY get my hands on Lynsey’s story, especially after getting to know her in the previous two releases in the standalone Wait With Me series. She was definitely one of those characters that intrigued me and I just knew that her story was going to be good! AND if you thought being inspired in a Tire Depot waiting room was CRAZY weird then you haven’t seen nothing yet because the hospital cafeteria is the new HOT SPOT. I mean when inspiration strikes you have to SEIZE THE MOMENT and finish that thesis, even if Dr. Dick tries to ruin it (and that awesome slice of pie) for you.
With her thesis FINALLY completed, there is nothing left to do except celebrate with a night on the town. Looking to get Dr. Dick out of her mind, the last thing she anticipates is falling into bed with him and getting a huge SURPRISE a few months later. She never expected to see Dr. Dick…oops I mean Dr. Josh Richardson ever again and she definitely did NOT expect for him to confirm the news of her pregnancy and that he happens to be the BABY DADDY too. Suddenly their lives are turned completely upside down and things are about to get REAL and you are all going to fall in love with their complicated journey!
I love books that have both humor and emotional depth, and Amy Daws delivers once again with ‘One Moment Please.’
The premise of this book drew me in right away: “That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.” Yes please, sign me up for those shenanigans. Lynsey Jones (who we know as Kate’s best friend in Wait With Me) and Dr. Josh Richardson a.k.a Dr. Dick, (to whom we’re introduced in Next In Line) star in this hate-to-love, surprise baby romance.
I’ve noticed a trend when I read books by Amy Daws. There’s a pattern that’s emerged that goes something along these lines: I’m laughing – and laughing – and laughing – then *bam* I’m hit in the feels – I’m on the verge of tears (and sometimes crying) – then I’m laughing again. There’s usually some swooning in there, too.
Daws is easily a one-click author for me.
I have just read another heart warming and romantic read. Amy’s middle name is 5 stars, Daws! I love her ability to keep you captive in her work. From the start every character has a connection and all you want to do is keep turning the page to see how it all ends. Lyndsey finds herself in a place that’s become her muse, the hospital cafeteria. It’s where she is finally able to complete one of the most important papers she needs to meet her dream of becoming a child therapist. All the weeks and hours in that cafeteria has drawn the attention of a certain doctor. A hot, smart, young doctor with the attitude of a … well a dick!
Dr. Josh Richardson, dr. Dick, has an attitude for a reason. His past is preventing him from being the man he truly is and from creating a future that he deserves. When he meets Lyndsey, let’s just say things are not boring but unpredictable. They find themselves in a one night stand that become connected for life when Lyndsey gets pregnant. How will this baby change everything? Will Lyndsey’s career be put on hold because she might be a single mom or will things fall into place that is if Josh can come to terms with his past and let him find love again. Don’t wait and pick up a copy of this read NOW!
One Moment Please by Amy Daws is the next amazing, funny, heartwarming, slightly emotional tale in her Wait With Me series. Best friend to Kate, our plucky author from book one (Wait With Me), this is Lynsey’s story.
After a disastrous encounter with a hot/angry doctor at her favorite thesis writing spot, also known as a hospital cafeteria, Lynsey is ready for a night out. Enter her other best friend, Dean, and they head out for a night out on the town to celebrate her thesis and get her out of her emotional tail-spin form the arrogant doctor (AKA Dr. Dick). When Dean runs into a client that night, and the client’s friend is none other than the arrogant/angry/smoldering doctor the nights spirals out of control for poor Lynsey.
Josh is an ER doctor in Boulder who does his best to compartmentalize his life at work from his life in general. He works all the time, has isolated himself from all but one friend and is a grumpy soul to boot. Enter Lynsey and her french-silk pie eating self, with her curves and her sass and he can’t stop thinking about her. Especially after their one night together. So when he sees her in the ER 3 months later and has to be the one to tell her she is pregnant… Well, this just got awkward!
Beautifully written, well-paced, the challenges each of these characters faces as they slowly open up to each other. The honesty from Lynsey, the slow reveal of Josh’s past, the journey they both take – LOVED EVERY SECOND. Enjoy!
One Moment Please is simply FLAWLESS! This series has been so fun and Amy Daws has such a talent for mixing hilarity with heart-tugging romance. Lynsey was such a hoot- such a take-charge woman with the most darling awkwardness. I knew that gruff and closed-off doctor Josh would be redeemed somehow, but had not idea how touching his story would be. Although the first two books in this series of interconnected standalones were fantastic, One Moment Please is my favorite- it’s just perfection and a must-read.
Absolutely loved this book! The characters witty, love/hate bantering back and forth are hilarious! Loved chemistry between Josh & Lynsey!
Amy Daws is one of my top 5 authors. I don’t care what she writes, I always grab it sight unseen knowing that I will love it no matter what. Amy’s ability to introduce humour with her witty remarks always gives me gut busters. To many times, I’m came close to falling off my treadmill laughing so hard. Reading her books always give me a feeling of joy and make a bad day so much better. This romantic comedy, is just terrific and I loved reading it. The story is about Lindsey and Joshua aka Dr. Dick – yes, the title suits – he is so broken you can’t help but root for him. Lyndsey is a sweet, loveable, klutz who ends up being Dr. Dick’s assistant, and the best assistant he’s ever had. Both characters have such depth you soon forget you are reading a story and become part of it and when you can lose yourself in a story, they are the very best. This is a book a highly recommend and guarantee you will love. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author and purchased a copy as well
Lynsey and Josh’s meet cute was seriously funny! Lynsey was a hoot, she’s crazy, a true spitfire. Because of this I thought it was going to be a rom-com.. Definitely was not expecting it to be so emotional! But I love that part of this book (not going to spoil it though) Their love story was so hilarious, so emotional and just so perfect!
This is a definite must read. This is my first read from the author and I can’t wait for more by this incredible author!
Lynsey is focused on finishing her thesis so she can start the next stage of her life and she finds that she is most productive when she is writing at the hospital cafeteria. Not only isn’t she hurting anyone, but she loves the chocolate pie there so why does one of the doctor’s glare at her every time he sees her?
Josh doesn’t know why this woman is always in the cafeteria but the fact that she keeps eating the pie he wants has to stop. He may not have handled it the best way, but he wasn’t expecting her temper and that he would now have the pie he wanted however not to consume but to wear.
The next time they meet a shared ride home turns into a steamy evening with no expectations until fate brings them together once more when she ends up in his ER and they are both surprised to find out that a baby is in their future.
There is a lot more to Josh than the condescending and abrasive jerk he exhibits while Lynsey just takes whatever life throw at her. These two are meant to be together but first they need to get out of their own way. Their story is filled with humor and heat, but it is the emotional part of the story that will take you by surprise.
Favorite Quotes:
The closest I’ve come to sparks flying at my writing hangout was when an elderly man’s portable oxygen tubes fell off his face while he was reaching for a piece of pie. I bent over to pick them up for him, and when I attempted to hand them over, our fingers brushed, and I felt a gust of air blow right between my legs. The moment was ruined when I looked down to see that I had yanked the tubes out of the tank, and it was blowing fresh O2 right in my special place.
“Glad to see your narcissism is still fully intact, Dr. Dick,” she grumbles under her breath. “It’d be a shame if you debunked my theory that you were hatched from a pod.”
Oh, my God, I was drinking Birds and Bees cocktails that night. No wonder I got knocked up. My parents never sat me down to tell me about the birds and the bees. They just always said Jesus was watching.
My Review:
Amy Daws continues to delight and amuse with yet another clever installment to her Wait With Me series, which have all been massively entertaining and brimming with sassy and saucy humor while her endearing characters are scorching the sheets. Crisply written in my favorite dual POV, I eagerly absorbed this humorous yet emotive and well-crafted tale featuring a fated couple who went from argumentative bickering to being a fire hazard with their heat and magnetic chemistry. I adored them and also learned a new phrase when a consult with Mr. Google was required for “elevator pitch.”
One Moment Please is exactly the book I needed to read last night! It was light in angst and gentle on my heart while making me smile, chuckle and need a cold shower! When I pick up a book by Amy Daws, I know that without a doubt, they will be full of heart, heat and plenty of reasons to swoon. She’s yet to disappoint me and after reading everything she’s written for more than four years, I don’t see that changing.
One Moment Please was everything I expect from Amy’s writing. A fun and fast read that was light on angst yet offered so much heart I was in tears at one point. Oh, and let’s not forget how much humor Amy Daws injected into One Moment Please—I was literally laughing out loud from the get-go!! As a reader, I often find myself invested most in the stories that contain a broken hero that’s an asshole and Dr. Dick—aka Dr. Joshua Richardson, the hero—is all that and so much more. I loved the way he needled Lynsey (Jones) incessantly but was also instantly smitten—regardless of the lies he told himself on that front! Josh and Lynsey weren’t expecting a one night stand that led to an unexpected pregnancy but their story is chock-full of emotional entanglements that are sure to capture any reader’s attention and hold it until they’ve read the entire book in one go, much like I did. From the pie-butt girl’s (aka Lynsey) appearances in books like Wait for Me and Next in Line, I knew I had to read her book. I knew I wanted her to have her own HEA and she certainly got that in One Moment Please. If you’ve never read Amy Daws before, you can pick this one up with the knowledge that it’s totally a standalone and I’m positive it will offer you every bit as much entertainment as I found. I’m also sure it will lead to many hours of binge reading all of Amy’s work!
One Moment Please is a one-night stand with a twist! With plenty of laughter to keep the story light, this one threw me for a pleasant loop when I got punched in the feels. Such a great combination of sassy banter, gut-wrenching sorrow, and plenty of steam! Amy Daws is one author I can pre-order from and know I’ll worship whatever she delivers. The Wait With Me series is one you don’t want to miss, and I promise you’ll look at the different public places you visit in a whole new light!
Lynsey and Dr D*ck had me laughing. Rom-coms are hard so are surprise pregnancy tropes. But Amy Daws delivers the humor, the emotional toll on both characters and the way to create this amazing relationship out strangeness. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, Lynsey is AMAZING and I want to be friends with her. Also, who doesn’t like a sexy, grumpy doctor. Another LOL- comedic gold book.
One Moment Please is a standalone book but I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series to get the full effect and learn the backstories of some characters. This book had me alternating between laughing my ass off and getting all up in my feelings. This book of course if full of Amy’s humor but it does have scenes that make you really feel for the characters, especially Josh aka Doctor Dick the annoyingly lovable asshole. His story, oh my god…once you get to find out why he is such a “dick” your heart will break for him. Lynsey is such the opposite of Josh, she is boisterous and full of life with the best sense of humor and she has such a big heart and feels for everyone. Josh and Lynsey, although they had an unconventional start to their relationship you could tell that these two belonged together. They were meant to be. I give this book 5 s!! Thank you Amy for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is Book #3 in the Wait With Me series. I have read the other 2 in this series. I love this book & series. I love how Lynsey met him. When you found the one, your heart knows before you do. Don’t fight it. Go for all of it.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

She’s always been a favorite author of mine but this book was just a lot of description. It took pages to describe the doctor and then at a meeting it took pages for someone to speak. A lot of internal dialogue which I’m not into.
The over all story is great! The ending was so good and I didn’t see it coming!
I liked both Lynsey and Dr. Dick. They both seemed like great people!
It was great to see some of the other characters from the first book! I love their friendship.
Like I said before, since there was so much internal dialogue I skimmed a lot.
