That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie.Three things Dr. Dick knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly … pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.
Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.
Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

Third in the series. This time up is Dr. Dick aka Josh Richardson and Lynsey Jones. The initial meeting between these two was pretty odd by funny and the second immediate sparks. From the Uber ride thru the birth it
was chaos and crazy. Josh has a bit of a troubling past that’s kinda of a downer. Would have like to know Lynseys feelings on JJ and Mark and Sierra also what he did to Dean. All in all a good read.
Josh is a Doctor with a huge chip on his shoulder when it comes to Lynsey Jones. He doesn’t know why she comes to the cafeteria daily and works on his computer but he is insulted by it. Deciding to approach her he speaks his mind, bluntly only to have Lynsey make up some cockamamie story he is not sure he believes.
Lynsey can’t believe the gal of Josh who was an arrogant jerk about what she was doing. Trying to brush it aside she goes out on the town to celebrate and ends up running into Josh again. Josh decides he is going home with her since she is drunk off her but and one thing leads to a night neither can forget and they don’t see each other again until Lynsey shows up as a patient in his ER and both have an unexpected pregnancy that they need to figure out how to deal with, will this push them further apart or could it be the beginning of something meant to be?
Was a bit angsty but I liked it. It took awhile to understand where Josh was coming from and you get it once all is revealed. I need to go back and read the rest of the series I am very curious about her friends.
Oh man, I loved this book even though I wanted to smack Dr. Dick (bahaha) upside the head. Josh captured you and you knew something bad had happened to him but it didn’t become clear until towards the near end. I felt for them as a couple and constantly rooted for them throughout the book!
I devoured this book. It was laugh out loud funny, entertaining, but oh so emotional (at times I had tears in my eyes). Josh and Lynsey are great, their interactions are passionate, steamy, funny, and crazy and at times Josh really deserves his nickname! But Lynsey’s crazy is just what Josh needs to bring him out of the dark hole he finds himself in. This is an emotional, witty, enjoyable read with:
Surprise pregnancy
Off the charts chemistry
Great cast of characters
Fun shenanigans
Rom-Com that will make you laugh and cry
If you enjoy any or all of the above, I highly recommend this book.
This is the first book that I’ve read by Amy Daws, and it was a great one to start with! I absolutely loved Josh and Lyndsey- right from the beginning in how they met! I loved the animosity that they felt toward each other- and how that morphed into something so much more. And I craved understanding why Josh acted the way he did.
I will most definitely be reading more by Amy Daws!
This book. This series!! I haven’t ever read Amy Daws before these books but let me tell you- I rocked through this whole series and One Moment Please, the third book in the series, was by far my favorite and that’s SUPER rare.
I loved this book. I devoured it! I loved the characters and the story and I thought about both for days.. weeks after. I wanted to reread it immediately after finishing and that never happens with me. Hats off to Amy on this one
I’ve been looking forward to this book since I saw the first teaser for it. I don’t know why, but I’m a sucker for the doctor/patient romances. One of my all time favorite books is Wrong by Jana Aston, so when I find book with the same(ish) trope, I’m all for it. And that was the case with this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I did listen to the audio book and found it to be entertaining. I love dually narrated books, but I couldn’t help but feel like an opportunity was missed. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by Mariana Zapata books, but I love it when the dual narration happens in conversation format as well as in POVs.
I definitely found Dr. Dick aka Josh to live up to his name. He was a jerk. Good news is I enjoy jerk heroes. I liked the scenes where he and Lynsey (ok, so you know how hard it is to type that?!)…anyway, I like the scenes where they would bicker, they were so much fun to read. But Josh was definitely way harsh at times, where I just wanted to smack him.
My biggest issue with Lynsey was that her name was spelled incorrectly. I think that was the biggest reason I avoided actually reading this on my kindle as I listened. It was just so hard to see that horrible error (ok, this is only an error to me because I spell my name differently, but I stand by my feelings!).
I’ll admit, I was a little disappointed in what the secret was that Josh was hiding. I’m not trying to diminish what he went through, or grief because everyone grieves differently, but I kept thinking that his secret was going to be…more. I thought for sure he had lost a child, or maybe a wife and unborn baby. I did figure out the general aspect of the secret but it was kind of predictable.
Overall, I did enjoy this book, and the audio book was definitely a fun experience.
NO SPOILERS!
One Moment Please was AMAZING, and I absolutely loved this sexy, hilarious, emotional, and swoon-worthy standalone romantic comedy! Amy Daws is one of my favorite authors, and I adored the storyline and characters she created in One Moment Please and the rest of the Wait With Me series. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her next book!
The storyline was wonderful. I knew the plot for One Moment Please would involve a surprise pregnancy, but I didn’t know what else it would entail. It was even better than I anticipated and I was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events. Amy Daws took me on a fun, entertaining, and memorable journey with Josh and Lynsey’s story, and I was very happy with the outcome.
The characters were excellent. Josh and Lynsey were fantastic. It took me a while to warm up to Josh given his personality and demeanor, but once I better understood his character, I loved him just as much as Lynsey. Josh and Lynsey had wonderful personalities and smoking hot chemistry together, and despite how a few things transpired between them, I really enjoyed how their relationship progressed throughout. I also loved most of their banter and interactions with each other, especially toward the end. Josh and Lynsey definitely gave each other a run for their money, but it was so much fun to watch their romance unfold.
One Moment Please was a sweet, sexy, swoon-worthy, and entertaining standalone romantic comedy, and I would highly recommend it and the rest of the Wait With Me series! Josh and Lynsey’s story was amazing in every way, and just what I needed. Amy Daws did an incredible job and I can’t wait to see what she releases next!
Oh! I loved One Moment Please by Amy Daws! Lynsey and Josh were so fun and their story was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Lynsey has finally finished her thesis and is one step closer to her dream job. She is passionate about children and cannot wait to devote her time and energy to helping children in need. Josh is a surly and grumpy ER Doctor that has lost his way. He closes himself off and lives a life detached and alone. The banter and connection between Lynsey and Josh was unexpected and full of passion. After one heated night together their lives will forever be intertwined. They do their best to try and navigate the unexpected together, but Josh continues to keep Lynsey at arms length. Lynsey knows that she wants a future with Josh, but isn’t sure he will ever open his heart up to her and their baby. I was captivated by Lynsey and Josh’s story, really great read.
This was such a cute book. In my current quest to find books that are light and fun and DO NOT stress me out, this one is definitely a winner.
I’m not usually a huge fan of the surprise baby after a one night stand trope – but this one wasn’t too painful. Lynsey is an adorable character. She’s sweet and funny and light-hearted. She’s a major contrast to Josh – who definitely earns his nickname of Dr. Dick.
Josh really is a dick. He’s pretty clearly protecting himself from past pain he hasn’t dealt with. But we don’t actually find out what his real story is until pretty late in the book. We get glimpses – much like Lynsey herself does, but when the story does come out, it’s a heartbreaker. And it’s pretty easy to understand why he’s closed himself off. This book made me cry, and not many books actually do that, but somehow I didn’t find it overly stressful. In the end, the sadness got dealt with in the best possible way, and maybe there was enough foreshadowing that I knew it was going to be okay.
I feel like Josh would have been a better character if he had given us MORE glimpses of his vulnerable side. He was REALLY closed off and REALLY was an ass to Lynsey, and part of me wondered why on Earth she gave him as many chances as she did. When he did finally come around, it was REALLY quick, and it was a total and complete 180 degree turn from where he started out. It was a little bit whiplash inducing. However, this meant there wasn’t much angst in the story – which was perfect for me right now.
One Moment Please is a fun escape from reality – which is sorely needed in these dark days. I enjoyed it enough to plan to go back and read the other books in the series, so that should count as a win!
I think this might be my favorite Amy Daws awkward meet-cute yet! It was a wild ride from beginning to end!
I’d love to say you’re going to fall instantly for Josh, our hero of the story, but that’s just not the case. He’s definitely an acquired taste, but once you see past that walled exterior he puts up, you realize he’s an amazing man with an amazing heart, capable of so much more than he gives himself credit for. He’s smart, witty, charming, and protective. And come on, a dirty-talking hot doctor? That’s
rom-com fantasy gold, if you ask me.
Lynsey is amazing! I love the quirky heroins that AD writes, and she might be my favorite one yet! She’s funny and fiery, stubborn and strong-willed. She’s a whirlwind of energy and chaos in Josh’s structured world. She breathes new life into his tormented existence. She’s beautiful, both inside and out. She’s also a little bit crazy. You never know what’s going to come out of her mouth.
This book checked off ALL the boxes for me. I loved the battle of wills between Josh and Lynsey. This story packed in a lot of feels around the humor to make it a well-rounded story. It’ll tug at your heart strings and rev up your engines in equal measure. It’s definitely another winner in the Wait With Me collection and I highly recommend it.
I can always count on Amy Daws for the perfect mix of LOL and mushy-gushy awesomeness!
This book was so good it follows the fun and sweet story line of the rest of the series and we finally get a book about Lynsey!! I love her she’s so fun and care free.
She followed her best friends crazy advice and found a place that helps her writing mojo a waiting room!! Not just any waiting room a hospital cafeteria.
Everything is going awesome until Dr. Dick decided to interrogate her and demanded she leave or get psychiatric help.
Lynsey finally finished her paper is going out with with best friend and former boyfriend Dean to celebrate and who shows up by Dr. Dick himself. After more drinks than she cares to admit and being ignored by Dean all night and insulted by the good doctor.
A bad decision turns into many more and what do you know a baby is on the way. This book was so good so many ups and downs and I love Lynsey she is such a strong character. She isn’t into using anyone she wants to work and be a good mother and be loved.
This book was one that I could not put down I had to know what happened. I hope there are more in this series because I love how they all interact and the crazy places they go for inspiration.
I totally loved Lyn & Dr. Dick! I laughed and wanted more every second. I couldn’t put this book down. I stayed up way too late reading. Woke up early and had to finish this.
Are superheroes perfect? Is it wise to meet your hero? I’ve always been told no. I’m hopeless though and would still want to. I believe the best in people like Lyn. I relate and loved this story. Everyone should read this story.
This one was fun and funny, heartbreaking and refreshingly honest. Everything a book should be. I appreciated the reality in the fiction here. Most books, I read for the escape from reality. But at the same time, those same books are either so over the top or completely outside of anything that would happen to anyone I know, that it can take me out of the story. Here, while the meet cute does fall into that situation, I appreciated the honesty in strangers getting together in this situation, and the harsh reality of what pregnancy can be like. Just an overall great read, as I always see with this author.
Another great book from Amy Daws!! This book has you feeling all the feels from happy to sad to made to heartbreak and everything in between. Dr Josh has a lot in his past that he won’t let go of and it takes Lindsey coming in to his life to shake it all around and help him move on. Add a pregnancy to the mix and it all gets complicated. But works out in the end for their happily ever after!
Not surprised at all, Amy Daws knocks another one out of the park. This was a really fun read/listen. The narrators Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton really did a beautiful job capturing the characters. This book has all the feels and more. Absolutely loved every second of this book!
Romantic Comedy PERFECTION.
In typical fashion when reading a Daw’s book……I laughed, I cried, I clenched my thighs, I sighed dreamy sighs, and I fell in love with new characters all over again. It’s the truly perfect blend of romance, comedy, and drama and I read it all in one day in one sitting.
I loved the fierce but soft demeanor of the leading lady. I loved the grumpy, brooding, what happened in the past leading man. It’s a perfectly adorable-make you smile-make your eyes water-work of romance art. I still have a Koolaid man smile after finishing this one.

Loved it!
I think I just discovered my Favorite: enemies to lovers. I like be the small build up of this type of relationships.
Josh is a handsome doctor who suffered some emotional trauma and ended up bitter. He didn’t count on meeting Linsey, a smart bubbly girl, and falling for her.
At first he didn’t understand his feelings, bit it was painful and beautiful to discover it with them. I love this characters and this story very much. It was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last.
