That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie.Three things Dr. Dick knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly … pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.
Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.
Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

Josh and Lynsey were perfect for each other. From the very first scene, I knew their story was going to be amazing. The push, pull, and overall heartbreaking moments had me reading this in one sitting. It was the perfect mix of reality and hilarious moments to keep it light and fun!
Lynsey is full of spunk and sass. She is determined to make something of herself, and she isn’t going to let anyone stand in her way.
Josh is a broken version of himself. He doesn’t want to get close to anyone, but he feels this strange draw towards Lynsey.
These two had chemistry coming off them in waves. You could tell they were both holding back, and it was taking one longer than the other to catch up.
This book was such a fun read, and I loved getting to see how other characters in the series are doing after they have found their HEA. Now I need Dean’s book!
– An Arc was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-
Whenever I think of Amy Daws my mind always jumps to The Harris Brothers books, those are always my go to sports rom-coms… but she is definitely making a stand with her Wait with Me series! One Moment Please isn’t packed with a ton of laughs like her other books but it has amazing characters that you connect with from the very beginning and a story that brings out all the emotions!
Lynsey is an all around girl next door; she is from a strict catholic family, focused on school work, prefers to hang out at home instead of bars and has a small group of extremely close friends (Dean and Kate). It’s been a while since I’ve read Wait with Me so I forgot the bond between her and Kate but I loved the scene’s with them both in this book! Lynsey is the calm to Kate’s crazy! Dean took on a larger role in this book and it took me a while to really warm to him, he came off as a flirt and shallow so I am hoping he gets his own book next so I can really see a different side to him. Now… the star of the show was Dr. Dick for me! He was the ultimate dark and broody doctor who was attracted to Lynsey but acted like a grade school boy who resorted to pulling her pigtails! Lynsey always came off as the quiet peacekeeper until she was around Dr Dick, then she came alive and the banter between them was great! I loved the chemistry between them, they really couldn’t keep their hands off each other and while the story constantly hinted at a tragic past it was extremely frustrating to watch Josh constantly keep Lynsey at arms length. Holy emotions batman, when his past was revealed I completely broke down… it had me loving Josh while also crying and calling him a stupid, stupid man for how he hid from everything that happened!
All the feels!! Charcuterie included!
One thing you can always count on when you pick up an Amy Daws book is the almost pee in your pants, laugh out loud moments of a book. One Moment Please definitely didn’t disappoint one bit. At first look, the surprise baby trope was my hook as it is one of my top favorite tropes to read. Line, the hot as hell cover! I mean, one look at Dr. Dick on that cover will have you saying, CPR please! And sinker, the amazingly written story of Lynsey and Josh that had me awing, crying, laughing, and swooning. You’d think Amy added an extra dose of pregnancy hormones just for us readers with the mood swings this story takes you. Loved every page all through the end.
Lets talk about these amazing characters. They are the definition of enemies to lovers with sexual tension you can feel through the pages. Like steam off your kindle hot! I loved Lynsey right off the bat, especially having a BFs like Kate and Dean. Total friendship goals! One thing about Lynsey I absolutely loved, she manages to just roll with the punches. Yea, there’s a freak out or two, but one thing about her is that she’s definitely determined. And that determination is what gets her in hot water with the hot af doctor. Josh, aka Dr. Dick is not only broody but also a control freak. Add in a crazy hot one night stand, then a surprise pregnancy, and all hell breaks loose. At first it was hard to connect with Josh as a character because of how closed off he is, not only to Lynsey, but also us the readers. Amy managed to keep the suspense regarding the why to Josh’s broody ways, and slowly peels him to us in layers. Slowly you love him more and more as Lynsey and Josh’s story continues. Both of them together balance each other out perfectly. I just loved them both to pieces and definitely couldn’t get enough of them. You can read more about Lynsey’s friend Kate in Wait With Me. If you haven’t already read book one of this amazing series, what are you waiting for?
One Moment Please is book 3 in the Wait With Me series, but can be read as a complete standalone. Amazingly written in dual POV, with its own HEA. With an addictive series like the Harris Brothers and the other spin-off books, the Wait With Me series is another addictive, binge-worthy series you do not want to miss out on. Everything I have read by Amy is absolutely amazing and the reason she became one of my automatic 1-click authors. I can’t wait to see what comes next for Amy. I definitely want to hear more about what Dean is up to.
Amy Daws…. One Moment Please…. a must read that makes you laugh and makes you feel. I loved this book so much!! Dr Dick as Lynsey calls him is just so much more.
Lynsey’s been writing her masters paper in the hospital cafeteria and runs into Dr Josh Richardson in an awkward but hysterical encounter in the cafeteria. Then again while she out at the bar with her best friend Dean…. another run-in!! And from there… this book takes us on this incredible journey I couldn’t stop reading.
Josh and Lynsey are having a baby. She wants the happily ever after Josh says he can’t give her. What I love is in the middle of a rom-com, Amy Daws gives us this broken guy who really isn’t a dick at all.
How Lynsey and Josh get to happily ever after is a story that gives all the feels. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to smack Josh a few times, all along falling in love with him like Lynsey did.
I love the Wait with Me and Next In Line characters brought in. Loved Kate and Lynsey’s friendship!! And love everything about this book. Tell everyone…. One Moment Please… I’m reading!!
One moment please is my first book by Amy Daws, and she didn’t disappoint. This romantic comedy had me laughing & swooning.
Lynsey and Josh have an awkward first meet in the hospital cafeteria, he is an ass to her & she ends up dropping her French Silk pie in his lap. They meet later again when she is out with a friend, and end up sharing an Uber. Which leads to an incredibly hot one night stand, some spanking and a surprise pregnancy.
Josh was a very closed off character, due to a tragic situation in his past, he never fully lets Lynsey in, only giving her half of himself. Despite this their chemistry is off the charts hot & steamy, there are times where Josh is caring, swoony & so possessive of Lynsey, that you can’t help but fall for him.
I really enjoyed this story, and will definitely be checking out more of Amy Daws books.
Listen, this book… you need it. OMFG. Get. It. Now.
I can’t adequately word how much I fucking loved this book yet, but I can absolutely say that we all need this book right now!
One Moment Please was hilarious, steamy, and had me all up in my feels. I literally had to ask for “one moment please” as I hysterically laughed, fanned myself through all those mentions of spanking (hot!), and while gathering myself because my feels were showing. I loved every single word of it!
This book was fantastic! Lynsey, a heroine that’s quirky, relatable, and I just wanted her to be my best friend. Dr. Josh “Dick” Richardson, a hero who’s alpha, a little broken, a lot clueless, and completely irresistible. And the story! Gah, never did I realize just how perfect of a meet-cute a hospital cafeteria could be!
This book was everything I hoped for it to be and more! Now I sit and wait for the audiobook to release so I can experience it one more time, but I don’t want to let these characters go. 10 stars.
Omg this book was so good! It was emotional but hilarious at the same time.
I loved the characters and the story line.
French Silk Pie + hot angsty doctor+ random meet at the bar (plus some Birds and the Bees) = a surprise baby.
I loved every emotionally charged crazy moment of this adventure. Lynsey Jones and Dr. Josh Richardson (Dr. Dick) are more than I could even hope for. This was my first-time reading Amy Dawes and sometimes the secret/surprise baby trope can come off as cheesy, so I wasn’t sure what I was getting into reading this. It was so well done. I love that Lynsey was clueless at first to being pregnant. (I had similar experience.) I love that they were not automatically together. I am glad that there was some back and forth in the story. Also that once they decided to get to know each other and see where things went it was just insta lust forgone conclusion that they would be together, in any way.
I loved that Josh’s life experiences had him keeping everyone including his family at arm’s length. He tried to limit how much he cared. He was happier as an observer in order to protect those he loved. I liked that Lynsey while she comes off as being an optimist as far as love and the world goes, she isn’t blind to the face that that love and relationships don’t come without their trails and failures.
The supporting group in this book really help make it wonderful. I love Lynsey’s best friend Kate! She is so over the top. Dean is still a frat boy, total man child but he adds so much needed observations to the story line. OMG, seriously the parents! Both Lynsey and Josh’s parents are a hoot, I had hope for a little more of them appearing in the story line.
Secret/Surprise Baby is my All-time favorite trope. I love it so much! This was a solid 4.5/5 read for me. The supporting characters help move the story along. I had moments of out loud laughter and tears. Just a fun and crazy read!
Love, Love, Love this book!
Amy Daws has created another fantastic love story! Her writing is original, fun, romantic (if not sometimes steamy ), and always leaves the reader wanting more!
Plus, I personally love when a story follows the romance of a supporting character from a previous book. Which “One Moment Please” does!
Amy Daws’ books, “Wait With Me” and “Next In Line”, both have characters that connect to “One Moment Please”, and where just as enjoyable to read as this book was! You should totally go check those books out too. You won’t regret it!
In this book, Lynsey and Josh were so adorable together! It took Josh a hot minute to let down his walls and allow Lynsey to see the real him, but in the end he proved himself as a imperfectly perfect leading man. I loved seeing his character grow as the story went on.
Lynsey was such a lovable character. Her clumsy, quirky, and adorable demeanour makes it impossible for the reader to not fall in love with her!
Long story short, go read this book! It’s so freaking fantastic!
Ugh could they have been any more perfect!
Clamp those thighs together and hold on tight things are about to get bumpy in the best of ways
One moment please delivers non stop – From the tension-filled first meeting to the swoon-worthy happily ever after – and all the side-splitting oops moments in between Lynsey and Dr. D will own your heart.
Lynsey is such a breath of fresh air. She just finished her thesis and is, looking to celebrate all the pieces are falling into place and her future is looking easy as pie (there is a hidden meaning here)
Until an overly grumpy grouchy sexy as silk Dr. insinuates she is up to no good!
How dare he! She’ll show him.
From that scene forward Lynsey was my hero.
That girl was a disaster on stilts while roller skating.
Josh was a grumpy man, I’m not spoiling the why, but he needs the rubber room not our sweet, at times a bit strange Lynsey.
Do you know that saying about opposites attracting?
That is our Dr. D and Lynsey
Josh is oil
Lynsey is water
Together
Daws is one of my one-click authors.
The way she spins her stories – it’s almost magical.
Her characters seem to grab your heart and never let go.
Another fabulous addition to my collection
The chemistry between them had me and my kindle close to combusting. Their banter, the mixture of laughs and feels was flawlessly written. The very first page had me hooked and only several more to fall head over heels in love with Josh and Lynsey. My feels were all over the place flutters in my stomach, tightness in my chest and a lump in my throat, and I loved it. Lynsey and Josh are Top Reads of 2020!!
Lynsey was a bit sassy, sweet, hilarious and awkward. She made me giggle so many times, she didn’t even have to be talking to another human to be delightfully entertaining.
Josh lived up to the nickname Dr. Dick, he was also sweet but not the normal way in his own Dr. Dick ways, his Alphaness and protectiveness made me swoon.
I honestly don’t know what to say, I have read every one of Amy’s books and this is my favorite. There was something about these 2 that felt “extra”….
Holy sexual tension, Batman!
Lynsey and Josh are amazing. Their chemistry is phenomenal and I could not put this book down! I laughed, I wanted to slap Dr Dick, and I swooned.
Do yourself a favour and read this book now!
I am still relatively new to Amy Daws but there is something about her writing that just sucks you in and doesn’t let go. From the first page of One Moment Please I was on #TeamLynsey. Because Dr. Dick surely lived up to his name.
I adored Lynsey. She was smart and compassionate. A bit accident prone. And ready for the next phase of her life to take off. What she wasn’t ready for was the broody, jerk of a doctor that had to get all up in her business. Oh that Josh. He was so hard to get a beat on. Standoffish. Arrogant. Cold. He didn’t know any other way to be and it pushed every single one of Lynsey’s buttons.
Simmering under all that animosity was a fire that they couldn’t deny. WHOA HOT!!! These two were electric between the sheets. And did it ever get them into trouble. Not that they knew right away. However, when they both found out their situation it was Josh who went out of his way to make things right.
I really liked the gentle way Lynsey pushed him to let her in. It came in spurts, small half grins, but ever so slowly Josh started to let his guard down. There were plans and promises in place. But when a blast from his past ends up at his door, everything that they had built came crumbling down.
Amy Daws crafted something special with One Moment Please. I was ready for her humor, and there was buckets of it (cue awkward conversations with the doctor) but I wasn’t expecting such an emotional kick to the gut. It was so hard to watch this couple who was so right together get it do wrong. My heart just broke for Lynsey and ‘the peanut’. And, yes, Josh too. They all deserved so much more than they were allowing themselves to have. But Lynsey is a warrior and she went to battle for what she wanted. Was it sneaky? You bet. Was more than worth it to see that light flip for Josh? YES! Goodness me that ending had my eyes misty with happiness.
I can’t not be more happy with this story.
I love Lindsey from start to finish, she’s kind, brave and with a a very clear vision of what she wants to be, her dreams and projects sound amazing and I have no doubt that she’s going to realize all of them. But then things getting in the way, or better say someone gets in the way, the arrogant, cold Dr Josh (Mr Dick) who changes Lindsey’s life forever.
They get together one night and thanks to expired condon, boom, she got pregnant, none of them wants a baby, specially Josh who we discovered through the book why he is so cold and distant when talking about kids.
Lindsey get the baby news totally different, first she cry and come up with all the worst scenarios about her family reaction, but after that she’s totally in with her baby and not only work to get her life together and keep going but also helping Josh confronting his past and come along with everything that happens before meting her, only then can they build a real family and life together.
I was so thrilled with every one in this book, obviously Lindsey was my top favorite and Mr Dick started way down this ranking but the bastard got me and escalate to second place(he’s so jealous of Dean, he just can’t stand that D been helping and supporting Lindsey may become the one spending time with his son and L) when he shows some of his secrets and pain. Not to bastard after all.
I’m happy I was one of the lucky ones to receive an ARC on exchange of my honest review, but even without get it I’ll would recommended 100% , you would love it.
Such adorable story, characters, situations that got you cry and laugh so hard that every tear is worth the reading, and with a HEA, is like a cherry on top of the cake.
Go and for sure you going to get so caught on the book that whenever someone
intend to claim your attention I can her you saying, ONE MOMENT PLEASE!!!!
Thank you to Amy Daws for the ARC

This book was just what the Doctor ordered. ONE MOMENT PLEASE by Amy Daws offers so much: fun, humour and laughter; love, romance and scorching hot sexy times; sweetness, vulnerability and healing tears.
I thoroughly enjoyed the rollercoaster ride that is Lynsey and Josh’s relationship. I could relate to the characters, and importantly, I liked them. I liked them so much! Their feelings and sensitivities in the face of some serious issues did have me crying at times but I never felt like the story was mired in pointless angst. It was an emotional journey for the characters as much as it was for me.
For fans of previous books in this series, we get to revisit with other characters, and they all do a fabulous job of adding to the story with their quirky and outlandish personalities. I have no idea what her future writing plans are but surely Dean needs his own happy ever after? We need more!
Daws has done such a great job with the Wait With Me series. Each book gets better and better. I felt the timeline and pacing of the story flowed incredibly well, and Daws has once again shown how well she can balance the fun times with deeper themes in her writing. Highly recommended. And yes, this book is a stand alone, but do yourself a favour and check out the other books in this series.
4.5 stars
Holy-Mother Of Hotness! No one does surprise baby stories like Amy Daws and “ONE MOMENT PLEASE” showcases her mastery of storytelling at its best! This fast paced, hilarious, smart, emotional, and scorching-hot love story held me enthralled from the beginning to end, and I couldn’t get enough of Lynsey and Dr. Dick.
Lynsey and Josh’s chemistry was explosive and consuming, their passion was a mix of lust and devotion, their sex was commanding and wild. Sigh inducing swooning and fanning myself sexy. And the sass, the sarcasm, the banter and the dialogue was unique, clever, and on target. Wow just wow!
I loved every minute of this completely over-the-top hilarious, thoroughly captivating, emotionally charged and Deliciously, Hot, Dirty, Sweet and Sexy Romance!
Warning…you better get your Kleenex ready.
I received an early copy in exchange for an honest review.
Lynsey has finally achieved her goal, finishing her thesis paper. She has been writing it in the hospital cafeteria. You would think that is a strange place to do this but it works for her. The last day there a strange, odd doctor that comes to her when she is about to leave and basically tells her that she shouldn’t be there. Lynsey is upset with what this guy has done to her. Her and her friend go out later that night and she runs into this guy once again. And of course he is being a jerk, a mean jerk. But these two end up in the same cab going home. One thing leads to another and these two end up having what should be a one night stand. But nope fate has other things in store for both of them. Will Dr. Dick change his ways and his feelings toward Lynsey? Will these two ever stop hating each other long enough to realize what they have? This was quite the storyline. It was intense, enjoyable and different. There was just something about it that made it unique and enjoyable to read. I loved the banter between Dr. Dick and Lynsey. Amy is quite the writer and this one shows off how well she can write. I loved this one and highly recommend it.
Ms. Daws wrote an amazing surprise baby rom-com. Dr. Dick was the perfect mix of arrogant and sweet, sexy man. Lyndsey was a sassy spitfire with a heart of gold. There was just the right amount of snarky banter, hot chemistry and romance to keep me entertained from the first page the very last page. Ms. Daws added her witty humor into the mix for that perfect rom-com. You’ laugh and maybe even shed a tear or two but you will not want to miss a minute of Dr. Dick and Lyndsey.
I was expecting this story to be a romantic comedy, but let me tell you, it was SO much more than that! Lynsey is a masters student working on her thesis. Her environment? The hospital cafeteria. She has found it the perfect ambiance in which to write. How does she meet doctor hottie? Let’s just say it’s a brash meeting that ends with a French silk pie mishap. Dr. Josh Richardson wants a piece of Lynsey and he gets it in a scorching one-night stand. That encounter turns into a surprise pregnancy that makes for a very sweet story. Josh is surly, brash, grumpy, withdrawn, etc. Lynsey is falling in love with him, but he stays withdrawn and only wants to keep her safe. His life in Pennsylvania crushed him and he just can’t get past it. Will sweet and happy Lynsey be able to heal his heart? She’s going to give it her best try.
This story was super special because what Josh is dealing with is grief. As a parent who’s lost a child, I really related to this book. In the end, love truly wins and that’s the best possible outcome. One Moment Please is super steamy, too. I love how explosive Josh and Lynsey are physically! This enemies-to-lovers story is something extra special! 5 fantastic stars!
This gifted author has the unique ability with her writing talent that I just must devour each one of her books as soon as it hits my kindle. This is Lynsey and Josh “Dr Dick’s” story. These two are like petrol and a match from the moment they meet, and when they meet in a bar, they end up having a one-night stand which has surprise results. Josh is not one for relationships and as each layer is peeled back from his persona, we get to know why he is the way he is. This is a beautifully written tale which is humorous, entertaining, and with witty banter and love, which all had me totally captivated throughout this epic page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.
