That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie.Three things Dr. Dick knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly … pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.
Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.
Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

I never thought I could love a series more than Harris Brothers, but it’s happened, and right now the Wait With Me series has doubled my love for Amy Daws. Each book a linked stand-alone, and each book better than the last. Where does she come up with the ideas for these wonderful stories? What a mind she must have. Quirky, funny, emotional, literally all the feels. I adore Kate, Maggie, and now Lynsey with their band of merry men (or not so merry men, as Josh proves). Josh and Lynsey, two people not looking for love, heck, Josh isn’t in the market for love, ever! But can they make a relationship work in order to be a family, even without love? This story asks that question, and to find out, we have some hilarious moments, some sexy moments, some tender moments, and some full on tearful moments. In finding the answer we discover there’s a lot of emotional baggage to work through along the way, sadly Josh isn’t willing to dig through his past, and that could be the key to fixing their problems. Absolutely fantastic, the words, the characters, everything. I laughed, I cried, it was perfect. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
I finished this story in a day! I loved everything about One Moment Please!!! Amy steals my heart with these characters. Dr. Dick aka Josh… but you will probably just stick with Dr. Dick, is very blunt and straight to the point. I didn’t think I was going to fall as hard as I did for him. But yup, he sure owns it!
Lynsey is my hero!!! I loved her when she was introduced to us in Kate’s story, and now I have a girl crush! She believes in love and when Josh is unwilling, she fights hard for what can be! She is truly amazing.
This story will dazzle you and have you chuckling. You are in it when it comes to the heavy scenes! I had to unwind with a glass of wine! Perfect story!!!
I can’t even with this book, or more to the point, how to get across how much I LOVED it. I knew I would be laughing throughout because that is a specialty of Amy Daws, and let’s face it, we can definitely use some laughs in our lives at the moment (perfect timing there Daws ). But, I didn’t expect as many emotionally charged moments, or, dare I say, as many tears. And let’s not forget some steamy sexiness . Basically, she’s got you covered! I loved these two characters, Lynsey & Josh, aka “Dr. Dick”. Where as Lynsey is sweet and loving, quite funny & definitely a bit crazy, Josh is grumpy, jerky, and stand offish. But after some drinks, a one night stand, and a book swag condom, their lives change forever. Seeing them trying to navigate this new journey together, being in two completely different head spaces was hard at times. You want Lynsey to be happy (she’s so freakin adorable!), but you can kinda understand Josh’s hang ups when you find out more about his past (though you lose count on how many times you want to shake the man!). But never give up hope. And having all the gang around from this series just makes it that much better . Seriously, I’m not going to tell you all about it, and give it all away. I’m going to tell you it’s pretty much what you need now, so make sure you go and grab it!!
I received an ARC for an honest review. I love josh ( Dr. Dick ) and Lynsey story. Was passionate and hot at times, I cried a couple times; very well written Ms Daws. I really enjoyed the roller coaster in their relationship. Thanks for other amazing book.
Now I need Dean’s story….
One Moment Please stole my heart and the processed to crack it into a million beautiful pieces. There is nothing easy about this story because it requires your entire heart in order to pay it’s steep price. This is like a romance done completely backwards, and for these characters it works for them. I’m fact, a normal romance would have been disasterois for them, so they had to put their own spin on it if they ever wanted it to work. They are both unconventional, and so is their breathtaking story.
Lynsey is solely focused on her career goals. She isn’t looking for love, but when she collides into the most gorgeous and infuriating man she instinctively lets her heart lead the way. Josh isn’t used to wanting a woman as strongly as he wants Lynsey. Even with her being a clumsy mess, he can’t seem to look away from her. When he lets his guard down, he finds out just how strong their surprising chemistry really is. When things take a shocking turn of epic proportions, will they both walk away, or will they have the strength and courage to fight for what they never knew they wanted?
I always knew that Lynsey’s story would be unforgettable, but it truly took my heart by storm. I loved hoe Josh shocked himself by following his heart when it came to Lynsey. He has a lot too deal with, and all Lynsey wanted to do was to walk beside him and help him. Watching these two incredible characters discover the deepest desire of their heart and fight for it left me holding my breath and sitting at the edge of my seat the entire time. What a life-changing journey!
Amy Daws is a fabulous author who knows how to dazzle and delight her readers. She puts them under her spell, and then throws their world into utter disarray as they bite their nails hoping and wishing for an ending they can cheer on. Her stories may not be romantic suspense, but her heart-breaking suspense is just as perfect and even more profound.
One Moment Please is the third installment and standalone story from Amy Daws. Dr. Josh Richardson and grad student Lynsey Jones keep crossing paths – and the third time’s the charm, apparently. A one night connection turns into a major event when protection fails and a surprise pregnancy is confirmed. Take those pieces and add Amy Daws’ signature humor and heart, mix and serve! It took me a while to see how a free spirit and a shuttered heart could bring order and joy to an unlikely pair. In this case, everything happens for a reason and makes for a heartwarming tale.
5 stars for this one, I loved it!
Lynsey has been sitting in the hospital cafeteria working on her thesis for weeks now, and today she finally finished it, after talking to her friend Kate, someone sits down at her table and doesn’t even say a word to her. How rude is he, after a few choice words between them, Lynsey gets up and leaves.
Josh is out with his best friend when he runs into that girl from the hospital, he thinks shes beautiful, and he wants her. They end up sitting together sharing drinks, and shes nicknamed him Dr Dick.
Follow their story as Lynsey tries to get past the walls Josh has erected around his heart. Can she break them down? Read along and find out!
5 Star Review One Moment Please (Wait With Me #3 ) by Amy Daws
Having read the previous books in this series, I couldn’t wait to read One Moment Please which is Lynsey and Josh aka Dr. Dick’s story.
After a chance meeting, followed by a night of intense passion, Lynsey leaves Josh’s house in the middle of the night. Fast forward three months and after the date from hell, Lynsey ends up in the emergency room.
She is even more shocked to discover that she is pregnant, even worse the e.r. doctor who breaks the news to her, is the father.
I was riveted from the first chapter to the last and really didn’t want One Moment Please to end.
Amy Daws writes characters that are captivating, easy to relate too and I easily fell in love with them. It was also great to catch up on previous couples and see what is happening in their lives.
The writing is strong and you cannot help but become totally invested in the story Ms. Daws weaves. This was a great example of RomCom and I firmly believe
The chemistry between Lynsey and Josh was intense and hot. It wouldn’t be an Amy Daws novel without humour and laughter and this just added to my overall enjoyment of the book with numerous snort worthy laugh out loud moments.
There was nothing I didn’t like about this book; I just loved everything about the characters and the story.
Although a standalone title One Moment Please features characters from Wait With Me and Next In Line. Lyndsey and Josh’s story is and emotional and angsty enemies to lovers story with plenty of steam and humor. This pair of characters are complex and intriguing.
Lynsey is an intriguing heroine. She’s kind, caring and compassionate, and despite finding herself unexpectedly pregnant takes it all in stride and doesn’t let it hamper her goals. She’s ambitious, headstrong and intelligent and is a bit of an optimist, looking for the best in every situation.
Josh, also known as Dr. Dick, is quite the opposite to Lyndsey. He’s aloof and curt and honestly frustrated the hell out of me for the better part of this book. But behind his stoic and gruff demeanor lies a tender heart.
Whilst this pair struggle to communicate in the traditional sense, they are incredibly compatible in the bedroom and the love scenes are hot and steamy and their chemistry is intense and passionate.
I loved the banter that Lynsey and Kate share, which is sure to leave you with a smile upon your face. I hope that in the future Dean will get his story told as well.
If you haven’t yet read Wait With Me or Next in Line, I highly recommend both titles.
Since Amy announced this book and the Blurb I was dying to read it! I needed it more than anything. And when she revealed the cover.. OMG
I already loved Amy and her writing since I first read her last year and I since loved every single book she wrote (that I read of her‘s). Her characters are amazing and you fall in Love with them instantly.
I already loved Lynsey when she was first introduced in Wait with me and I still love her so very much. She‘s funny, quirky and she actually wears her heart on her sleeve. She‘s kind and so wonderful. The career Amy chose for her fits like a glove!
At first I was a little shocked at how rude and dickish Josh was, but after a while I could really see and feel what was bothering him and why he was who he was.
The chemistry between them is off the charts! Hot, steamy and so much love!
I love surprise baby storys and I think this one might be my favorite so far!
5 out of 5
I expected to laugh my face off from the moment I started reading this book, but what I didn’t expect was to ugly cry, too. One Moment Please had me feeling all sorts of emotions while I was reading and I LOVED it. I couldn’t get enough of this story.
Lynsey found that she enjoyed writing her thesis in the hospital cafeteria, plus their French silk pie is pretty amazing. What she doesn’t expect? A hot doctor to notice her and she definitely doesn’t expect said doctor to call her out. Josh, is an ER doc and pretty much lives at the hospital. He comes across as a major jerk, but there is more to him. I love his dry sense of humor so much!
The chemistry between Lynsey and Josh was amazing from the start and their banter! I LIVED for their banter. It had me dying from the start. I also loved the banter between Kate and Lynsey! I loved Lynsey. She lived life to the fullest, she looked on the bright side and no matter what she didn’t let anything bring her down. She looked for the good in everything. Josh, I had a love/hate relationship. I loved him, but I was SO SO SO frustrated with him when it came to Lynsey and their relationship throughout the beginning of this book.
One Moment Please will have you laughing out loud and ugly crying at times but it is a MUST READ especially if surprise baby romances are your jam!
What was supposed to just be a hook-up with the hot jerky doctor from the hospital ends up turning Lynsey’s world upside down when she realizes she’s pregnant. Of course, she finds out she’s pregnant when she winds up in the ER after her Tinder date goes haywire. Another winning part of this predicament is her ER doctor is none other than Josh aka Dr. Dick, her one-night stand. To say both are shocked is an understatement, what was supposed to be one night has quickly escalated. The two now have to navigate this, but can they navigate it together, or will Lynsey be doing it alone?
I have been waiting for Dr. Dick and Lynsey’s story for quite some time now and Amy Daws did not disappoint. From start to finish I was enthralled in this story. There were moments that had me laughing out loud, and moments that I honestly felt a little shattered. This book is everything wonderful you expect from Amy Daws but amplified. Seriously, I loved the first two books in this series, but there is just something about Dr. Dick and Lynsey’s story that just resonates with me. Hands down one of my favorite reads of 2020.
There aren’t enough words for this one. It is filled with so much emotion. There were happy tears and there were sad tears and everything else in between. Josh could not love anyone or anything anymore. Lynsey thought that with time and the baby he could love them. She did not understand why he was like this. The pregnancy was unplanned but she fell instantly in love with her baby. Why couldn’t Josh. There were times when he dropped his wall and she saw the man he used to be. Will his walls ever fully come down? Would she ever settle for half a man and half a relationship. He cared about them. He would protect them forever, but he could not let his guard down. In his eyes it was for their own protection.
This book will grab you from the first word to the very last. All I know is that I will forever look at a hospital cafeteria so differently now. Amy Daws is one of the best authors I have ever read. Her books are so real. Real issues, real pain, real life. She is that amazing. Always giving her readers everything. She is that good.
Awesome book!!! You can NEVER go wrong with amy and i so loved the humor. The banter and the amazing chemistry in the book! Dr dick lives up to his name and you will love to hate him as much as I do!
#SedateWithMe
Paging Dr Dick! Paging Dr Dick! Please report for a housecall, STAT!
I have been impatiently awaiting Lynsey’s story. I adored her in Kate and Miles’ story, and Ms Daws has not disappointed.
She as always felt like a bit of a free spirit to me, and the last thing she needs in life is an unwanted pregnancy, however I loved how she took life by the balls and created this new chapter in her life.
Josh aka as Dr Dick. Boy did he earn that nickname! Like Lynsey, I didn’t know if I wanted to kiss him or nut punch him. Yes, he had things that stopped him from from living his best life, but sheesh, I wanted to reach in, grab him and shake a bit of sense into him. I spent 90% of the book frustrated as crap at him, and wanted to hurt him for hurting Lynsey.
And then Ms Daws brought him around, and made me shed a tear for that bastard!
I loved that Dean was a big part of Lynsey’s tale. He definitely needs a story of his own!
I laughed at Lynsey and Kate’s banter. I teared up during their D & M’s. I smiled big at them.
Now I need, need, need Dean’s story! Please tell me we are getting his story.
This book is so amazing. Made me laugh and cry. Stayed up till 1 in the morning to finish it. Love Doctor Dick and Lynsey banter. Loved every second. So can’t wait for the audiobook. I was so lucky to get an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
