4 1/2 STARS!
Sinfully sexy! With the first book in her Murphy International series, Joss Wood brings us a few familiar faces in ONE LITTLE INDISCRETION. For those that read the author’s Love in Boston series, you’ll recognize the Murphy family that is the centerpiece of this series. The plot is intriguing and the characters captivating.
Sadie catches a reader’s eye immediately because we hear of her brush with death and quickly watch her connect with the man who didn’t leave her side during her terror. One night of passion is supposed to get him out of her system, but the baby they discover is on the way a few weeks later isn’t going to be easy to overlook!
Carrick is a really interesting character. He’s got a reputation of ruthlessness, but he’s only showing a genuinely good heart every time he interacts with Sadie. I enjoyed him a lot.
I highly recommend this book and am looking forward for more to come from the Murphy family!
Two divorced people.
Carrick is slightly damaged after his long ago divorce, so he only dies I’ve night stands.
Sadie is working with him to authenticate a piece of artwork. She’s also divorced.
They hook up but that one nighter has consequences. Like a baby.
I liked that the characters knew themselves well.

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Joss Wood; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

You totally get where Sadie is coming from where she is torn between her attraction to Carrick and what she has heard about how he supposedly acted during and at the end of his previous marriage and Carrick is tight lipped about what really went on. But Sadie is also a smart women and knows to take things with a grain of salt but that doesn’t mean mixing business and pleasure no matter how much Carrick seem to want it. This was a great read that had characters you liked, you thought were nasty and that you were on the fence if they deserved either Sadie or Carrick’s friendship.

Part of the Murphy International series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Sadie Slade an art historian, and CEO Carrick Murphy have a one night stand, leading to more than they expected. I enjoyed reading their story and seeing how they get their happy ending. Will Carrick and Sadie’s one nighter break the molds they each had for their futures
I loved this quick read about the inability to deny an insta-attraction despite the rumor mills and the complications it brings into the work place. Carrick and Sadie may struggle to keep it professional in the work place, but behind closed doors, the steam level rises! I enjoyed how the characters had to figure out if they could ignore the rumor mills and trust one another for their happily ever after!
I’d started falling in love with the Murphy brothers during their sister’s book. (Second Chance Temptation – part of the author’s Love in Boston series.) I knew right then and there that I needed to read more about this family. Carrick’s whirlwind romance with Sadie is filled with all kinds of ups and downs, along with a few loops on their emotional roller-coaster. Each member of this pair is carrying around a whole bunch of “bad marriage” baggage that’s constantly tripping them up. I loved watching these two unpack that baggage and work their way closer to one another. The author has spent a good portion of this book setting up the series and showing us some of the romances that are coming in future books. Having seen these teasers, I’m anxiously looking forward to getting my hands on the next book.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Harlequin romance and I thought this one was very good! Very well written and drew me into the story.
After nearly choking to death at a party, Sadie Slade is only thinking of living. When her current employer, Carrick Murphy stops by to check on her, things get very hot when he backs her against the wall and proceeds to kiss her. Sadie has been attracted to Carrick since she signed on to research a painting for a client and with her near death experience, all she wants to do now is live.
In the light of the morning, Sadie and Carrick both decide that the one night was all they would have. But Carrick can’t get Sadie out of his mind, while Sadie is determined to not repeat that night. Sadie has been hurt before by a man like Carrick, and she has no desire to put herself back in the same situation. But when she discovers the consequences of their one night together, she has to face Carrick and let him know.
They both agree that they don’t want an actual relationship, but as they grow closer together, each start wondering if the other can put the past behind them and build a life for themselves?

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This is the first book I’ve read by Joss Wood, it’s fast-paced and well-written. The storyline is interesting and kept my interest. The characters are incredibly likable, I really liked the interaction and chemistry between them.
New author for me. Flow was good but I did feel the characters could be more developed. It is not indicated but maybe this is part of a series as there are secondary characters that are introduced. There are parts of the story that only include those secondary characters and have no interaction with the main characters so this leaves me wondering why those parts in included in the book. Additionally, there is a slight mystery regarding an object that is never resolved; again, that leaves me to wonder if this is part of a series. I would give another book by the author another read.

This was a great first book to a new series by Joss Wood! It was a common romance troupe done with an added layer of complication for both Sadie and Carrick. There wasn’t a lot of depth to the complications but the story was told in such a way you were invested in them from page one.
Sadie had married a man she thought loved her, only to face emotional abuse until she left him, but no one believed her. She was wary of men and Carrick Murphy was no different. His reputation through a mutual friend was less than stellar and Sadie was all about working to help him prove a painting was real but otherwise steering clear of the bad boy.
At least until he showed up on her doorstep concerned after she was hurt on his watch. Their chemistry was undeniable but you know what they say about one little indiscretion, it can have consequences that last a lifetime.
Learning to trust again was hard for Sadie AND Carrick. They’d both been hurt by their previous marriages and neither one had any trust in reserve.
While there was a lot of back and forth about their pasts that got a little tedious by the end, you were still rooting for these to find their way together and to grasp that golden ring of HEA.
I loved the set up for this series with the other characters in the story. Joa and Ronan had chemistry that didn’t end, and I can’t wait to see the love/hate relationship that Keely and Wilfred are going to light up the pages with.
You can’t go wrong starting this new series with One Little Indiscretion!
This is the second book that I have had the opportunity read by Joss Wood. One Little Indiscretion is wonderful written and all characters had their say and I enjoyed this book thoroughly.
Sadie Slade is 29 years old divorced and has a PhD in art history and has been hired by Murphy International CEO Carrick Murphy to authenticate a lost painting. While attending a cocktail party Sadie chokes on a piece of steak and is taken to the hospital for emergency tracheostomy and stays overnight. Carrick arrives at Sadie’s apartment with flowers the day to check on her and make sure she is ok. One thing leads to the next and Carrick and Slade end up making love and that’s where one little discretion begins with a baby on the way.
Sadie is constantly being informed that Carrick is not a nice guy by Elizabeth (Beth) by her virtual assistant who happens to be her friend along with being the sister of Carrick’s ex-wife Tamlyn. Carrick and Tamlyn had a bitter divorce and Tamlyn is not being honesty about what happened in the marriage to cause the divorce. Sadie was also in a bad marriage with her ex husband who mental and verbally abused her and when she tried to talk to her parents and sister they did not believe her and that put a strain on her relationship with her parents and sister.
Sadie and Beth are at one of their lunch dates and Sadie starts not to feel well and Beth states that if she know better she would say that Sadie is pregnant from the things that she is saying. When is confirmed that Sadie is indeed pregnant with Carrick’s child she knows for sure she is going to keep the baby and wants Carrick to be apart of the child life.
While Sade and Beth are having lunch together Beth failed to mention that her sister Tamlyn was joining them for lunch and Tamlyn arrives and starts bad mouthing Carrick along with Beth to Sadie. Carrick just so happens to call Sadie while she is at lunch and Sadie makes sure that Tamlyn and Beth hears the interaction between the two.
This is a great story of love and hurt that makes for a great romance and is a must read to learn how things progress for Carrick, Sadie and baby makes three. Pick up a copy and read for yourself.
I received a ARC from the author via Booksprout.
I had read a couple of Joss previous books and really liked them so I could not wait to give this one a try and I really enjoyed it I am a sucker for a good Harlequin read and this one ticked all the right boxes. I thought this was a great book to curl up with and I cannot wait for more.
Before I get into the the main characters, let me just say that this is one of the BEST set ups I’ve ever seen for future books in a series.
I mean I can’t wait for the rest of the family’s story to be told, it is quite masterful to see how Mrs. Wood set up the series & bravo .
Carrick and Sadie were fun, their push/pull and angsty back and forth was scintillating . I loved Carrick he is really well written, the aloha male/vulnerable man is A+.
This story is worth all your time and I think you will thoroughly enjoy it.
