Cassy Evans knows a thing or two about secrets. By juggling work and a hidden relationship with the world’s biggest rock star for months, she’s become an expert.

But when one rash decision puts his entire career on the line, it’s not clear if he can recover from it.
As Frank spirals out of control, pushing Cassy away, she has to face the reality of what they’ve become. He’s harder to love than she imagined. Her common sense tells her severing all ties with him is the right choice.

One Last Verse is the conclusion of Frankie and Cassy’s story. It should be read after Final Serenade.

Book two really continues in the same vein of excellent writing, driving my need to devour this book. This story definitely gets messier. I continue to love Cassy in this story. She has the ability to have shades of brattiness but not in a mean spirited way. She wants the best for the people she loves. Her relationship with her brother cracks me up.
Frankie breaks my heart a little bit more in this book. His demons hit hard and battle against the trauma of Casey’s childhood. Eek yes it gets very intense. He was wronged on so many levels. Having said that, Cassy didn’t deserve what he was dishing out.
This story ends with a perfect resolution which truthfully let me wanting more. (Ugh) I wasn’t ready for this story to end.
It was surprising that forgiveness happened quickly for our power couple once behavior changed. Yes, I was feeling a bit vindictive. My heart understood but my mind wanted a little more retribution for Cassy. (Possible Overshare:I do recognize it stems from my own feelings of abandonment from my childhood.)
For me the sign of a good story is when it triggers you enough to be uncomfortable and a tad bit overly emotional but not enough to need therapy after. (Haha) Yep, you have to read the story to know what I am talking about. (Evil laugh, with a wink or two)
Love this story and it is five star worthy. Happy Reading Everyone!
The conclusion to the duet really pulled at my heartstrings. Frankie and Cassy’s story takes you on the journey of their lives through all the highs and lows the triumphs and the failures. I haven’t read a rocker book that is as character lead as this one. The band dynamics, the friendships and the lovers are all fighting against Frankie’s demons. At times this was painful to read because in the end he becomes his own worst enemy. I really got a sense of how Cassy was feeling, should she stay and fight or is walking away the best decision for both of them. It was like being on a seesaw emotionally, I was up and down so many times. Perseverance and determination sometimes pays off. A love worth having isn’t always easy it can be messy and worth fighting for.
Breathtakingly and Painfully Beautiful !!
This story captivated me so much from the first book that I found myself savoring every word of book 2…I absolutely loved it! It was the ultimate ending to a great duet!
I said it before and I’ll say it again, N.N. Britt definitely knows the inner workings as well as the external nuances of the rock’n roll world. She intricately weaves that knowledge and experience into a beautifully painful love story.
I am utterly captivated by Frank and Cassy’s story! Not only do they have chemistry that is palpable, and deep but their relationship reflects realistic interactions and emotions. The plot and character development continued with a smooth easy flow! The writing was effortless in describing emotions and off the charts (no pun intended) angst levels that realistically reflected off the pages. I could feel what Cassy was feeling and Frank’s actions evoked deep rooted emotions in me that had me tightly gripping my kindle!
This Duet is A Must Read!
This is the 2nd and concluding story in this phenomenal duet. Cassy and Frankie are by no means perfect characters, they are flawed, and when life knocks them down, they learn to dust themselves off to survive, which is by no means an easy feat. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, as is a raw, gritty, heart-breaking, and powerful story which is filled with drama, explosive chemistry, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all. This author has outdone herself with this phenomenal series!
This book is the conclusion of Cassy and Frank’s story. They are an unconventional couple. He’s a reckless rockstar with a complicated past and complicated life. She’s a reporter who loves music, had a teenage crush on him and now lives a difficult time next to him.
This book broke my heart many times, I was so sad, cried and got soooo mad at other times! It’s an awesome, different love story, looked at from a different angle, or maybe narrated from a different angle, from a different point of view, with all the chaos around. I loved it! This duet was my first book/books by this author and I know I like her style. Now I’m already looking for her other books to read!
Natalia rocked my world with this duet. As a reader I couldn’t have wished for a better conclusion to Cassy and Frankie’s story. It was raw, emotional and beautiful. Absolute perfection!
Reading page after page I felt as if the author was telling me a story she herself had experienced.
Her writing style is amazing. I love it.
I’m looking forward to seeing what this author has for us next
One Last Verse is the conclusion to Frankie and Cassy’s story and one that will take your heart on an emotional ride. As drama, broken promises and secrets tear their worlds apart, I was left gripping onto the edge of my seat with both hands. My heart pounded, my pulse raced and at times I found myself holding my breath unsure if my heart would make it out of this in one piece. Their story was poignant, affecting and the connection between Cassy and Frankie could be felt soul deep. This conclusion to their journey was at times heart wrenching but also impassioned. One Last Verse sang to my soul and gave me the rawness of Cassy and Frankie. It showed me that sometimes our heart has to break first for us to truly appreciate the chance at a love that will forever serenade our soul.
I loved the first part of this duet and thought the second part could not surpass the first. Boy was I wrong! There is so much going on in this story it is impossible to put down, it just grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let you go until then end, and not even then, major book hangover!
This is the second part of Frankie and Cassy’s story and you will feel every emotion from the hot and sexy love scenes between these two characters which contrast with the painful and heart-breaking scenes as Frankie spirals out of control. Cassy’s helplessness as she is unable to save this broken man is hard to read especially when he is destroying her life and her career.
N N Britt’s writing is beyond brilliant, here she gives us a story that is raw, realistic and gritty. It brings to life the seamy underbelly of the music business where all that matters is fame and money and where the paparazzi is king. You really feel that you are watching this story play out in real life. The characters seem like real people with real demons and the world is watching their suffering.
This duet is my number one rock music romance for this year so far, and that says a lot because there have been some really amazing ones. If you have not read it yet do not miss it, it will break your heart and then mend it. You must read Final Serenade first to get the full story. Five stars for this series is definitely not enough!
The book is a good romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable inspirational romance read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.5 stars
I thought I knew it all about the conclusion of Cassy and Frank’s story but there’s so much more into it.
So many feelings, so many heartbreaking moments and scenes, so much to overcome and deal with. But as always, love is stronger than anything and although it takes a long time, it will heal and bring light into everyone’s life.
Do I agree with every choice the characters have had? No, but again, in real life nobody is perfect and I’m happy to read about flawed people and their mistakes and how they find a way out.
It’s a very emotional story and treats many issues that are raw and not easy to deal with but I loved it.
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
This book totally owned me. It tore me open and stitched me up again. I am so in love with this series. I don’t even know where to start with this review.
I absolutely love this author’s writing style. It completely sucks you into the story and envelops you. The narration is smooth, effortless, and inviting. I loved the plot of the story. So much drama and so much emotion. Britt tells such an intimate story. There is some sensitive subject matter in this story and I think that the author handled them all gracefully and realistically. I liked that she didn’t hold back on the emotion where these issues were concerned. She put her all into the story, that much is obvious.
These characters took hold of my heart. I was so invested in their story and I felt everything that they felt along the way. Frankie and Cassy had so much depth and they both had incredible character development. I loved that they had such distinct personalities that shone through the pages. I also loved how these characters evoked so much emotion in me while reading their story. I also have to mention the secondary characters because they were amazing. I would love to see more of them in other books.
Frankie and Cassy have such an undeniable connection. The romance in this book was so heartbreaking and powerful. It showcases what it’s like loving someone with an addiction and how sometimes you have to let that person go if they aren’t willing to help themselves. This was a romance that was hard at times but overall it was so very beautiful.
Overall, this was a raw and poignant story that was unforgettable and addicting. Be ready to experience a gamut of emotions while reading this book. This was such a captivating story and I am still stuck in that book hangover phase with this one. This is definitely a duet that I will revisit in the future. This author has a way with words that dazzles the reader and leaves them feeling every emotion tenfold. I am so impressed with this duet and I can’t wait for more from this author! I am a total fangirl now.
