Promises will be broken. Love will be tested.
Cassy Evans knows a thing or two about secrets. By juggling work and a hidden relationship with the world’s biggest rock star for months, she’s become an expert.
However, being with Frank comes at a price. Seven years after the accident that almost ended everything, his trauma still haunts him. Determined to get back on stage, the man known to the … get back on stage, the man known to the world as Frankie Blade would do anything to ensure the success of his band’s reunion. But when one rash decision puts his entire career on the line, it’s not clear if he can recover from it.
As Frank spirals out of control, pushing Cassy away, she has to face the reality of what they’ve become. He’s harder to love than she imagined. Her common sense tells her severing all ties with him is the right choice.
Problem is, she can’t leave without her heart. And Frank doesn’t want to give it back.
One Last Verse is the conclusion of Frankie and Cassy’s story. It should be read after Final Serenade.

This duet presented us so many great characters, and to have a person with disabilities, even if not as a main character, was a great surprise. I appreciate the diversity, it’s something that means a lot to me. I hope N. N. Britt makes it a habit.
Anyway, One Last Verse was a great way to end Cassy and Frank’s journey. The epilogue was extra cool.
As always, I highly recommend N. N. Britt’s books.
One Last Verse (The Encore Book Two)
N.N. Britt
This book starts out right where book 1 ended. I absolutely loved book 1 and book 2 did not disappoint. This one takes you through many many emotions. At times it seemed like it was a little redundant, but I get that it really was. Until someone decides they want to help or change them self, nothing will really change. This book shows you the not so glamorous side of a rock stars life and this book feels like it is showing you the true side of things. Frank and Cassy do not hide anything in this book (Dante doesn’t either). I let some time go between the 2 books and I wish I had read them back to back but it only took me a little bit to get right back into their story and feeling vested in the characters. Honestly I stayed up way later than I should have reading both of these that is how much I was invested in the story. I’m honestly sad it’s over. I’d love to have more or even maybe Dante’s story…these characters will stay with me and I know that I will be going back and reading the two books again! This book deals with addictions – alcohol and drug, how being addicted affects you and those who love you. It was very enlightening, and I felt for all, but was really impressed with how Cassy for the most part stuck to her guns on how she felt about it. I am very much looking forward to reading more by this author. I hope if you pick these two books up, you will love them as much as I did.
This book was everything! Cassie and Frankie’s life was such a mess. He was like a needy person dragging her down with him and to the point where it was hurting them both. So much angst in this story. It picks up right where it left off in the first book and that was great. The writing and everything was just awesome. It sucks you right into the story of them. The lies and broken promises takes so much out of a person. It’s a challenge when you deal with a person like Frankie. To understand you just need to read this story. When famous people are thrust in the spotlight, the media has a field day adding more to it then what’s behind the scenes and she really gives us just this. Throughout their tortured love story, I’m so glad they found their HEA.
I’m hoping there’ll be a book on Dante next.
So this shows the ugly side of the rock and roll. It shows what happens when you don’t get the help you so desperately need, you spiral out of control and almost lose everything you worked so hard to have in your life. Cassy has to make some hard decisions in this book. She has to stand her ground and do the right thing. She has to be strong and have her voice be heard. She doesn’t back down although she does have a couple moments of weakness. The way Frank acts in this book brings up memories she worked so hard to forget. She doesn’t want what her mom had to deal with her dad, she wants Frank to get help and get his life on track. She knew going into this relationship, it was going to hard and they would have to work hard to make their love strong. I admire Cassy for how she handled the different situations she was thrown into. The author did a fabulous job of describing the fear, the concern and the love she had for Frank, her brother, Levi and even Dante. Frank, on the other hand, isn’t handling things well at the moment. Actually since his accident, his life has been spiraling out of control. His band is doing well but he isn’t. There is seriously something wrong with him. Things happen to him and before he knows it, everything he worked so hard to have is being taken away. He doesn’t handle this well at all. He has to realize for himself that what he’s doing to himself isn’t right or healthy. He has a long road in front of him. He put Cassy thru hell in this book and pushes her way past her comfort level. He almost loses her due to this. This is why I said you get to see the ugly side of rock and roll with this book. This is the side that most romance books don’t let you see. There’s so many ugly moments in this book, mostly between Cassy and Frank. This book is chocked full of emotions and man are they raw and real. You don’t get much realer then this book. Cassy and Frank let it all out but it’s needed to make their relationship work. I must admit it took a little while before I got into this book and it was my own fault for waiting to read it after book 1 and putting it down for a period of time. I enjoyed seeing the ugly side of rock n roll and how when you see yourself at rock bottom, what it will take to get yourself back on top again. Will love prevail or will it fail? Will Frank finally realize he needs help and that Cassy is the most important in his life?
This was the second part of Frankie and Casey’s story. I think I loved it more than Final Serenade. It was the perfect ending to their story!
Book 2 was even better that book one and that is saying a lot because book one was the best book I have read for 2020. Someone hook me up with this author’s address please, I need to visit her and beg for more. OMG I literally did not sleep while reading this book and also missed work just to finish reading it. What another absolutely amazing and wonderful book by this author. Perfect characters and a story that will leave you desperately wanting more. Just simply amazing. Highly recommended.
This is the second book in the duet of Frankie and Cassy. You must read the first book Final Serenade before this story.
We pick up with the relationship of Frankie who is struggling to return to the spotlight after years away from the rock world due to a devastating injury.
He has turned to alcohol to cope and this has had damaging results. Cassy has a resilient and amazing heart. She is trying to support Frankie and manage all other aspects of her life. She is suffering from Frankie and who he is with his issues.
The author shows the real drama, struggles and reality in these characters. This author does an amazing job of showing the jmperfections of life and how they are not clear and resolvable over night. Well written emotional, dramatic and well researched and written story.
I am volunteering to leave a review for this book
What a Great Duet!!!
Frankie and Cassy’s story was full of emotion, heartache, heartbreak and plenty of steam. I absolutely loved their connection and I’m now a big fan of N.N. Britt. Of course I loved my rock and rollers but this book was full of so much more that it was a page turner I couldn’t put down.
Be ready for one crazy ride with Frankie and Cassy and this is one author I can’t wait to read again. Make sure you grab Final Serenade in the Encore Duet series.
Yes! This sequel had it all. Angst, heartbreak, sex and love. The characters got the room they needed and shined. Cassie and Frank. Phew. What a story. It was intense and so damn emotional. Frank lost so much in One Last Verse and the effect it had on him and on his and Cassie’s relationship was devastating. Cassie was Frank’s support, his rock but she also lost a lot because of his abuse and reckless behavior. It was uncomfortable and difficult to read at times but only because the author captured that despair and depression with a rawness that couldn’t help but affect me.
One Last Verse was a roller coaster ride of emotions and a fabulous rockstar romance. The author knows her stuff when it comes to this genre. The atmosphere was spot on. I was at a concert. I witnessed scandalous behavior. It was very authentic and also why I enjoyed this book but first and foremost I enjoyed the characters.
In the previous book I needed depth and chemistry and here I got it. In spades! I felt and connected with the characters. Cassie and Frank was an amazing couple and their road to a HEA was so worth it.
Now I’m hoping for a Dante book cause after what he went through he surely needs it. I need it!
4 Passion, Music, Heart Stars
Such a great book absolutely loved it
What a yo-yo on my emotions!! All the feeling they had but all the drama and emotional baggage. I wanted them to overcome it one minute and move on the next! I couldn’t decide what I wanted. It sure kept me keyed into reading. Isabellas part made it a big plus for me. Loved how it all came together and they started to heal.
One last verse is the 2nd book in the Encore series. Book 2 starts right after the cliffhanger from book 1, Final Serenade. This is the conclusion to Frankie and Cassy. This book has it all drama, triumph, failure, a good cry and forgiveness.
Couldnt wait to read the conclusion of Cassy and Frank. What. Beautiful story. The trials and tribulations. Great story
i couldn’t put this book down. This was a good conclusion to frank and Cassy.
The heartbreaking and emotional finally to Cassy and Franks love story. Be sure to grab the tissues (and read THE ENCORE first) this book is the story we’ve been waiting for and NN Britt makes us work for it. Couldn’t put it down.
From book 1 you’re completely enraptured in the world of Rock & Roll with Cassy and Frank. I loved the Encore Series! Everything from the plot, characters, and writing were amazing! My favorite was the character development from the beginning of the series to the last chapter! I also highlighted a lot during this book. There are so many memorable and quotable moments in One Last Verse. I could not put One Last Verse down after the cliffhanger in Final Serenade! I would recommend any of N.N. Britt’s work, but especially the Encore Duet Series.
One Last Verse is the 2nd book in the Encore Duet and another fabulous page turner from NN Britt. This was a beautifully written yet painful love story that will have you engrossed in the pages and unable to put it down. The plot and characters development continued seemlessly from the first book and it will all evoke a range of emotions from you as you continue along this journey with these unique characters. Expect to be taken on a roller-coaster ride with all the twists and turns, drama, angst and explosive chemistry. I was so invested in Frankie and Casey’s story, it was captivating, raw and unforgettable and the secondary characters also made an impact. One Last Verse was an excellent conclusion to this duet. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to all lovers of rockstar romance.
This is a seriously, heartbreaking read. Every last emotion bringing me to tears. This author wrote Frank’s battle with addiction and its affect on the people around him, so flawlessly. She has a way with words that speak volumes through the pages.
I wanted so badly to fix Frank and all his demons. He definitely did his share of things that weren’t right but I held out hope for this man. Cassy endured alot emotionally and it left her raw and unhinged. I admired her strength throughout it all. The relationship between these two is real and honest with no sugar coating and I loved that most of all.
A quote came to mind when reading this book.
“That’s the thing about pain. It demands to be felt.” -John Green
Just a truly great conclusion to this duet and everyone needs to read it ASAP!
HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!
We return to this sequel with Cassy Evans and Frankie Blade and things are more complicated than ever. What started out sweet and romantic has now turned into bitter and broken.
Everything that they had built is going down the drain when Frankie realizes that making a comeback is harder than he wanted to admit. His past comes to bite him in the ass, and he is drowning. Cassy, who is trying to help doesn’t know-how. Someone who once made her smile makes her sad and worried all of the time. But what can you do when you put your whole heart on the line for someone who doesn’t know they need it? What can you do when they fall and don’t want to get up? What risks are you willing to make at the expense of your own career? We take a journey through Cassy’s eye and see her struggle with her own past and whether she can change her future for the better or the worse. We come to find that even the hardest decisions are the right ones to make when it comes to saving yourself and someone else.
This book is amazing and also very sad. But even more than that it’s also eye-opening. It shows us what real life is like especially in relationships. The good, the bad, and especially that love sometimes isn’t always enough. I loved this book and everyone else will definitely love it too.
