If you love single parent romances like I do, this is a must read!
I adored this book – so heartwarming and the single parent storyline is amazing. You can never go wrong with Corinne Michaels!
One Last Time by Corinne Michaels is everything. The story was heartwarming, sweet, charming and at times heartbreaking, Life is not always easy, and choices are difficult to make for yourself and those you love, but sometimes hard decisions must be made.
Kristin’s family is everything for her. All she ever wanted was a strong, healthy and happy family and marriage. Her children are everything to her and she would do anything for them. But for years her marriage has been failing. She would have fought to save it, but it takes two. I absolutely loved Kristen. Her ex-husband wore her down so much with his cruel words and expectations, that she saw herself as a failure, but she was strong, kind, and loving. She just had to find herself again.
Noah Frazier has lived most of his life hiding from a past that haunts him daily. He is a famous actor who lives a life most people dream off. Women are at his feet whenever he wants them, but he never opened his heart to anyone. Then one day Kristin entered his life and turned it upside down. He was drawn to her and could not stay away. Noah was so sweet and charming and so determined. I adored him!
Divorcing her husband was one of the hardest decisions Kristin has ever made, however, now that she is free of him, she realizes how right this choice was. Now she is trying to settle her kids to their new normal and trying to find a way to support them. With the help of friends, she lands a job as a celebrity blogger. Not her cup of tea, but she is determined to succeed. What she did not expect was her first assignment to be Noah Frazier. The very hot and sexy Noah Frazier. Let the awkwardness begin!
Noah is smitten with Kristin. He is captivated by the woman who is vulnerable and hurting right now, but he also sees the strong woman underneath. He is so drawn to her, he decides to let her do a feature of him, something he has never done before. Though she pushes him away constantly, he is determined to break down her walls. As they get to know each other, they begin to fall, but what happens when the grounds fall out from underneath them? Will they fight for each other or is all lost?
This story was so real and honest in the depiction of a marriage failing. It is heartbreaking, but at times, the only choice left. I loved Kristen’s friends. They were supportive and absolutely amazing. I want them in my life. The author also surprises us with many old and unexpected friends! It was great to see them again. It was truly a wonderful read with all the feels, great characters and a story that will captivate you. This is another must read by Corinne Michaels.
Happy reading!
I loved this book!
Going in and knowing it was a book written by Corinne Michaels, I expected an amazing read……..and it was exactly that- an AMAZING read!
This is the story of Kristin and Noah.
Kristin is a beautiful, smart and dedicated wife and mother. Everyone sees it and admires those qualities, except the two people who should see it the most, her husband and Kristin herself.
When life deals her a world shattering blow, her focus intensifies on the two people who have always mattered most, her children.
Picking up the pieces is gut wrenching but with her girls by her side, she manages to get by. With a job that she hates, confidence beaten to a pulp and her heart ripped to shreds, Kristin begins a journey to try and regain her self worth.
Enter Noah.
Noah is the sexy, confident, sweet actor who is friends with Eli, (We Own The Night) and who has agreed to do an interview about himself as a favor. Not one who really talks about himself to the press, Noah is prepared to answer the usually invasive questions and move on. What he isn’t prepared for is the sexy reporter that comes crashing into his life with a big splash, leaving him breathless and refusing to come up for air.
This story has the elements of an insta-love, but with so much more.
Both characters have their fair share of issues and baggage that they need to put down. They just have to convince one another to do so. But when a plan is set in place and it tests their relationship to the point of no return, will they survive or just relive heartbreak all over again- only this time being a thousand times worse.
Reading this story was a joy. It hit all of the things I look for in a book. I laughed, I got angry, I felt sad, but most importantly, I smiled with all the good that happens in Noah and Kristin’s story. Her children are adorable and Noah is truly swoon worthy with his charming persistence. Kristin is the woman you root for. The perfect example of the shell of a person who is at their lowest, not realizing that she deserves better, could have better……..until she does.
The side characters are on point and the unsavory get to live in this book with a story that is perfectly written for them. And let me not forget the love scenes that are scorching hot and absolutely blush worthy! Yum yum yum!
The epilogue ties up their story beautifully, and if I’m being honest, disappointed me for just a second.
I should have known better. I mean, this is a Corinne Michaels book after all.
The epilogue gave me exactly what I wanted and left me a very happy reader. I loved seeing their future together.
But wait, there’s more! You get an extra extended epilogue with Noah’s point of view. Just click the link at the end of the book and BAM! Your email will have a goody waiting for you.
I would highly recommend this book and any past or future books from this author. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Corinne Michaels writes the most beautiful romantic stories that will leave you sated and happy in the end.
Can you say NOAH was swoon-worthy through it all and all. The moment he appears in this book to the end he was just the P E R F E C T man that any woman would die for.
Kristin is going through a difficult and messy divorce. Her soon to be ex-husband was a real piece of work and for what he put her through, he deserved more than what he got in the end.
Kristin is barely trying to cope with the loss of her marriage and all the factors that lead to the pending divorce. She thought this man was going to be her happily ever after and she put up with a lot from him. He was verbally abusive towards her and she thought that this is how it was supposed to be. She handled it and just let it roll off her shoulders, but there comes a point in time when you ask yourself when is enough!! She was a tough cookie for putting up with crap for 14 years (yikes)!
When Kristin takes her kids and moves out of the house and into her friend’s empty home, she also takes a job as a blogger for celebrities. She never in her world thought she would have to blog about a handsome single man who made her heart pitter patter when she met him. He was charming, nice and downright sexy as hell. But she also had to deal with her problems at home with her kids not accepting the divorce well and her douche of a husband who wants nothing more than to make Kristin’s life a living hell.
As soon as Noah set his eyes on Kristin, he knew in that instant that she was worth the risk. He knew she had baggage, but he didn’t care. He was willing to take that risk because she was beautiful and once he got to know her better, there was no doubt in his mind that she was it for him.
Noah was willing to take baby steps knowing what her current situation was, but he was determined to win her heart. Not much persuasion was needed because Kristin fell for this man as hard and fast as he did for her. But was she willing to risk her heart again after what she just endured?
Well with a man like NOAH everything is worth it!!!!
Corinne Michaels has hit this one right out of the ball park with fireworks and all.
5 ONE LAST TIME STARS!!
I LOVE everything that Corinne Michaels writes, she is one of my unicorn authors that never fails to give me ALL the FUNNY, SWOONY, ANGSTY, GUT-TWISTING, PANTY-MELTING feels! Having said that, One Last Time IS all those things….more on the funny (I can’t BELIEVE I said THAT!!!), swoony and panty-melting side than the angsty and gut-twisting (though, there ARE some emotional moments that had me reaching for the tissues!!)
I ADORE Kristin…she’s exactly the type of heroine I love! She’s had to deal with a TON of “stuff” (no spoilers!!!) but she’s so strong yet vulnerable, when she loves she loves with her whole heart (even when that love is abused and neglected) and she’s got THE best friends that a girl could ask for! She’s funny and she’s sweet…and she soooooo reminds of a someone I know and ADORE!!!
Now, Noah!!! He’s just….YUMMY!!! I don’t think I’ve fallen so hard and soooooo fast for a Hero, EVER!!! He is PERFECTION…he’s as SEXY as the day is long, he’s a little bit alpha (not too much!), he’s persistent, he’s tender and loving and considerate and….MINE!!!! *sigh*
I can’t WAIT for the NEXT friend to get her HEA…PLEASE say we’ll have MORE of these HILARIOUS, loyal friends-for-life, Corinne!!! Btw, you can read We Own Tonight and get Heather and Eli’s FABULOUS love story and continue the affair with all these INCREDIBLE characters…they are BOTH standalones!
I just want to say “Thank You” to you, Corinne, for giving me soooooo many hours of pure enjoyment and for my newest BBF!!
5 star Review One Last Time by Corinne Michaels
Why have I not read Corinne Michaels before? This book was one that I could not put down; from the first to the last chapter I was totally enthralled.
What an emotional journey from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs One Last Time has it all. The writing was excellent, all the characters were strongly written and Aubrey and Finn nearly stole the book, particularly Aubrey.
This was such a beautifully written romance and honestly I think I fell in love with Noah Frazier. This was an amazing read that held my attention and towards the end I was on the edge of my seat as I frantically tried to read faster to see what was going to happen next.
The chemistry was amazing and at times the tenderness and love that Noah showed for Kristin and her children moved me almost to tears. If anyone deserves a man to show her the true meaning of love and what a relationship should be about it was Kristin and Noah did not disappoint. There were also many humorous moments whilst reading this book and I will assuredly be reading more form Corinne Michaels at the earliest opportunity.
One Last Time is a book I highly recommend you one click and read ASAP, you won’t be disappointed
FABULOUS! I haven’t had this much fun with a book in quite some time. Not only did I laugh out loud but I found myself giggling and smirking. I LOVED it!
This story was also real. I saw the struggles, the depths of love and trust. I was able to feel what the characters were going through (I was able to relate) and I love when a story does that to me.
This definitely had swooned worthy moments, moments when my heart ached and my eyes got watery.
Overall a very sweet beautiful story!
I’m in love with NOAH!
It was love from page one – for Kristin. Corinne Michaels wrote a heroine facing so many challenges that women of today face it was next to impossible not to want everything for her from the moment I turned the first page. Despite licking her own wounds, she refused to be beaten down. She is relatable from the minute you meet her.
When Kristin meets Noah Frazier, sexy movie star extroidinaire, your cautiously hopeful. He’s wickedly handsome, compassionate, funny. And God, is he sweet. To her, her family. He’s just Noah. I can’t spoil all the greatness that is Noah. He has to be experienced.
There are hugely funny moments – laugh out loud moments where you will probably say, “OMG, I know I did that!” There are trials they endure separately and together. But to me, what exceptional romance doesn’t have them? Because real life does. And that is what you get and more with One Last Time.
In the end, I guarantee you’ll be asking for one more time with this couple.
Kristin’s life is completely changed when she leaves her slightly toxic marriage. For the first time she finds herself to be a single mother and having to start a new career. That is how she meets Noah, a celebrity she is hired to write a piece on. I absolutely love when the man knows exactly what he wants like Noah did. He wanted Kristin and he let her know and he showed her. Noah is determined to win over her heart and show her how she should be loved.
This series follows a group of friends and their friendship and support through everything make this book feel real. These are the kind of friends everyone should want, they are supportive but don’t sugar coat anything and tell you the truth. They pushed Kristin to give a new relationship a try. This book was beautiful and a story that felt so real and raw.
I listened to this on audio and Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did a wonderful job telling this story. It was soothing to listen to and easy to pay attention without losing focus.
I knew going in that this story would have me laughing ad much as I was crying just like all of the Corinne Michaels stories that I have read.
Kristen and Noah have this connection that is soul-deep. Something she thought she had in her marriage until her husband asked for a divorce. Meeting Noah, the big-time TV star, was something I think we all would do. Speechless, stumbling over our words, and if given the chance, we would get drunk too.
This story starts out rough, smooths out some, and then, wham the author hits you with a baseball bat, or so it feels like it. Can Noah and Kristen find out who betrayed them? Will they be able to move past this?
I love Corinne Michaels and am making my way through her books as I can. I listened to the audio version and loved the narrators Andi Arndt, Sebastian York.
This was one of the easiest books that I’ve listen until now.
The narration was incredible, and I couldn’t stop until the very last word!
It’s been a while since I’ve read something by Corinne Michaels, and I forgot how I loved her storytelling!
This story is about second chances in life and in love, and I could feel, for personal experience, everything that Kirstin had to deal everyday, with her failed marriage and her psychological abusive ex-husband!
The struggle is real, she lost herself trying to fit a mold that was never good enough for him, and it was really beautiful to see her leaned to love herself and to be loved and cherished again.
Noah was a breath of fresh air into her life, and he had his own demons to conquer… I didn’t really enjoyed how he dealt with things when they reached a breaking point, but I can understand where his reaction came from.
I’m not gonna lie, this book is a little bit cliche, but it’s beautifully well written, and portraits very vividly how the end of an abusive marriage usually goes.
How you do need strength and courage just not to move on with your life, but to walk away of something that you thought it was for life.
I also loved her kids, their relationship with Noah, and how Kristin have make them her priority the whole time!
The narration was impeccable!
Definitely helped with my listening time.
One Last Time is my first listen by Corinne Michaels, and now I’m wondering just what took me so long. It’s everything a great romance should be – romantic, sexy, witty, and has a couple you just can’t help but root for. Noah and Kristin are terrific characters, and the chemistry between them is off the charts. Noah is positively swoon-worthy, and he and Kristin complement each other so well. Then we get a couple of sweet kiddos that hit ya right in the feels, and the fact that they have Noah so thoroughly wrapped around their fingers is just too darn sweet. The story does have a bit of angst, and it wasn’t hard to see it coming, but it all works for the story.
Of course, this is the audiobook, and this one has a couple of great voices. If I had to close my eyes and just listen to what these characters sound like, I don’t believe I could’ve imagined anyone better than Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. Both narrators breathe life into Kristin and Noah, and they do it wonderfully. Sebastian York sounds as sexy as I see Noah in my head, and Andi Arndt sounds exactly as I’d expect Kristin to sound – from the not at all sure of herself, newly single mom to seeing herself through Noah’s eyes – Kristin’s growth comes through loud and clear.
All in all, One Last Time is a completely engaging sweet and sexy romance. This may be my first experience with Michaels, but it definitely won’t be my last.
4.5 Emotinal Stars!!
One Last Time is book #2 into the Second Time Around series, but can be read/listen as standalone. The story is masterfully crafted, captivating, entertaining, intriguing and very emotional. I was hooked right from the start.
This story has it all, heartbreak, drama, plenty of laugh out loud moments, chemistry, romance, scorching hot scenes and much more. If you haven’t read any of Corinne Michaels stories, this’ll be a good start. I absolutely loved following Noah and Kristin’s journey.
Sebastian York & Andi Arndt brought this story to life in a very compelling way. They brilliantly projected the emotions and every other aspect of the storyline into their performance in a way that makes me feel as if I’m part of the story, and as much as I would love to share details of this amazing story, I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you.
Audible Review for One Last Time
This romance blew me away, it was a breath of fresh air to read a romance about a mature couple. I was captivated and drawn in from the first words and there was no putting down until I had listened to the final line. This is a beautifully written romance and Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their story to life.
Noah is in town visiting his buddy and he agrees to do an interview as a favour to his friend and that’s where he meets Kristen. Kristen has left behind a verbally abusing marriage and is looking for a new start for her and her children. Noah is her first assignment but this is a man who is extremely private, who doesn’t do interviews so can she get him to open up or will her first interview be her last…..
Noah and Kristen’s story is an emotional tale and I was kept on the edge of my seat as I joined their journey but this is a romance that is so much more than a couple falling in love this story also has children involved and the love and tenderness Noah showed for Kristen’s children moved me to tears.
One Last Time felt real, I fell hook, line and sinker for the characters and their story, it has the perfect mix of love, witty banter and tenderness, add in the perfect narration and you get the perfect book.
Story – 4 stars
Emotional, swoony, and charming, One Last Time – the second book in the Second Time Around series, truly hit me with all the feels.
We have met Kristin briefly from the last installment. My heart broke for all the emotional and psychological abuse that she had endured. I admired her strength and determination to walk out of a toxic marriage. After all her experiences, her courage to give love a second chance humbled me.
Noah was too good to be true. As a celebrity, he was loving, considerate and down to earth. I loved how he was persistent in showing Kristin how a woman should be loved and worshipped. His good nature and character were evident in his interaction with Kristin kids. No wonder Kristin was swept off her feet by this charming gentleman.
Another favourite was the sisterhood the four friends shared. It was rare that friends could stay together throughout the different stages of life. These four ladies each contributed something special to their friendship. When any one of them were in need, they all chipped in unconditionally which was absolutely friendship goals.
Audio – 5 stars
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are two of my favorite narrators. They did a superb job in bringing Kristin and Noah to life.
I volunteered to provide an honest review of a complimentary audio copy of this book.
Kristin has spent years trying to be the perfect wife and the perfect mother to give her kids the family she believes they deserve even when her husband consistently belittles her. Their marriage reaches a breaking point, and she finds herself on the cusp of divorce as she tries to create a new life for her and children while keeping peace with her ex-husband which is proving to be more difficult than she imagined.
Noah is a successful actor who is friends with her best friend’s husband and has agreed to give her an article for an online celebrity magazine. From their first meeting there was no denying the chemistry between but she raises feelings in him that he hasn’t felt in decades and he wants more. He is falling in love not only with her but her children as well but their pasts could create a challenge they might not be able to overcome.
Noah is the perfect combination of sweet and swoony as he shows Kristin that she is perfect just the way she is and loves her children as her own while although she was cautious in the beginning once she gave Noah her heart she wasn’t about to let anyone or anything come between them. An epic love with all the feels will keep you captivated from beginning to end. The narrators did a great job with not only the characters but with emotion of the story as well.
*review for audible version*
This story starts out painful and raw. Kristin is in a lackluster marriage with a man who is emotionally abusive. With a separation and divorce just beginning, Kristin must stay as strong as she has been for herself and her children. One night on an assignment for her new job at a friend’s gathering she gets more than she ever bargained for. Scared and unsure of herself she puts two feet in front of her and takes a chance, a chance with Noah. Noah is everything, sweet, attentive, and devastatingly gorgeous. But he comes with a past, a past that haunts him to this day.
I was wrapped up in this listen. These narrators did a phenomenal job, as always. The author weaved a story that broke my heart and then put me back together again. Just well written and completely captivating.
I haven’t been reading a lot of contemporary romance lately … even though my recent book reviews on the blog says otherwise But I’ll never turn an audiobook down!
December’s been a fairly busy month, so I was rather eager to get into One Last Time to kick off my December reading.
Okay, let’s get to it. There’s always something about a story when one of the main characters is going through a divorce, I tend to loathe the ex with a passion because most of the time, they’re an absolute nuisance. And It’s definitely something that I don’t want overpowering the story and at times, it felt like it did. I just wanted her ex-husband to be gone.
And then Kristin and Noah meet and it’s honestly a little bit awkward, and I was really sure how I felt about Kristin’s initial reactions towards seeing him. But it was actually pretty adorable.
Overall, very much an enjoyable story and it’s a great pick if you’re looking for a contemporary romance. I couldn’t stop smirking at these two
Narrators: LOVE EM, not the first time I’ve listened to narrate books before, but they’re definitely some favorites.
4.5 stars.
One Last Time was the perfect audio listen. I absolutely loved that this book had characters in their 30’s and were in a place that they were starting over. They seemed much more relatable that way.
The book starts out with Kristin’s marriage ending. We see how her marriage to Scott was not healthy and how it was hurting her and her two kids. It’s hard to watch a relationship spiral downward after many years dedicated to a man and a life you built together, but it’s even more scary to start all over. But with Kristin’s strong friendships she has with her 3 girlfriends and her family, this story continued on with a little frustration, but with laughs and love too.
Kristin moves on with her two children and starts over. She moves into a friend’s home that is empty and she gets a job with a gossip mag. Life is looking up. If only her a$$hole of an ex- husband would just abide by the dang child custody agreement. He proves to be a thorn in her side, but after years of being weak and giving in, Kristin starts to grow and know her worth and she stands up to Scott. I loved seeing that part of Kristin. Of her growing and feeling herself again. Of knowing she is worth something, baggage and all.
Enter Noah Frazier. TV star that is also friend’s with Heather (one of Kristin’s BFFs) and her fiancé. Kristin is given the job of interviewing him for her job, but what happens when Noah is so much better in person than anyone could imagine?
I frickin loved Noah! He is who you want as a book boyfriend. He may be famous, but there is so much more to him. He knows what he wants and goes after it. He doesn’t care about baggage and sees all that ‘baggage’ as pluses. As something that makes the person before him that much more beautiful. I absolutely adored getting to see these two connect and their chemistry. Even with all the crap that Scott continues to pull in the first half of the story, Noah is a strong force that stands by Kristin, no matter what and that makes him even more sexy to me.
One Last Time was a romance but it was also a story of starting over and seeing a woman grow after years of mental abuse. It’s a story of friendship and the support and love of those friends and the family you surround yourself with. The story was real with real characters and the pacing was right on. It was sexy and wasn’t filled with unnecessary drama. In fact, the little we got was perfect for the character development.
AND I can’t leave a review without mentioning the narrators. Andi and Sebastian absolutely became Kristin and Noah. Their performances were spot on and made me connect with the characters even more so.
If you need a book with the feels and wonderful narration, One Last Time will check all your boxes. Corinne Michaels knows how to write romance and write in a way that you connect with their journey.
