It seems that author STOKES has saved the best (next to last)….A page-turning,action filled roller coaster, that I read twice! RECOMMENDED? YOU BET!
This fifth book in the Conjuring a Coroner series starts off with a bang and keeps Kasey and Sanders fleeing from the ADI using some pretty impressive skills. However, the Shinigami are always one fraction of a step ahead of them. This one is even more hair raising than the last book which is hard to believe. And again I am left wondering what Mr Stokes has in store for the next book in this series. His writing skills are improving with each book. His creativity improves as he thinks up new ways the Shinigami can do damage and how Kasey and Sanders deals with him. What can Mr Stokes come up with next that’s even more impressive? That is the question that we will have to see in the next book. I can hardly wait to read it.
OK, so I somehow missed the release of one of the books in S.C. Stokes’ Conjuring A Coroner series. When I found out I immediately downloaded copies of both One Foot In The Grave (Book 4) and One Last Breath (Book 5), but I promised (promised!) myself that I’d have some proper time management and not binge read these. Silly me. It’s 6am and I just finished Book 5 after a zombie-like (in more ways than one as I definitely feel zombie-ish now) pursuit of more and more pages. These two books were just too freakin’ wonderful and dangerously addictive to put down. Kasey, our star here, is the perfect version of the sort of kick-a** and take no prisoners heroine I adore the most, and these books are the perfect example of what adrenaline fueled urban fantasy should be. Wonderfully written and a wild roller coaster of fun, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed, I could go on and on with praises. Both books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that each of these books is most definitely “one to read”, and it is easy to highly recommend both of them.
Running is getting old, ADI is around every corner, down on funds, time to fight!!!!
Kasey is tired, she has been running for her life and it has worn her out. The wizards are hunting her down and she has nowhere to turn, nowhere is safe, funds are running out and so is the time. The Shinigami attack will destroy everything that Kasey loves including New York City. She has seen this happen ever since she was 12. She knows who and almost when she just doesn’t how. Now she just has to fight for everything and maybe just give up herself.
What did I like? Kasey is the cutest wizard that I have ever found and I love the trouble that she gets into. She loves hard and tries so hard to protect all that she loves without making it obvious. Now it’s down to brass tacks and she has nowhere to run….
@ddeegott What will you like? Exciting, thrilling, exhilarating, electrifying, sensational action that will take you by storm. Kasey will win your heart and so will SC Stokes and his work. The descriptions will take you right into the middle of the action with every electrifying word you read. Put the kids to bed early and get ready for an arousing read. I received this from the author as a member of the AR team in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. All opinions expressed are my own and not edited by anyone but me.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my voluntary review. This story had a lot of action, which kept me intrigued in book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
