When Amelia went from getting left at the altar to finding love at first sight with the man of her dreams, I felt elated.
And when Kate’s near-concussion turned into true love, I celebrated.
But then Hattie found her forever-love in the arms of the single father of one of her Outdoor Adventure kids, and suddenly I found myself the only one of my friends without someone to go home to at night. … home to at night. And I always will be.
Because I’m one in a million — because love’s not in the cards for me.
I’m a therapist by profession and the simple fact is that I know too much about what can go wrong in love to believe that it can ever go right for me.
But then an incident brings silver fox Oliver Lewis into my life and threatens everything that I think I know about me and love . . .
Emmy Romano is convinced that love isn’t right for her. After all the rocky relationships she’s seen come through her counseling business, she’s all too happy to walk away from the pain that always seems to come hand-in-hand with love.
That is, until she meets Oliver Lewis, a secret millionaire lawyer two decades her senior who thinks she’s everything he’s been waiting for and didn’t know it. And she can’t deny that he makes her feel things she never thought she was capable of feeling.
The only question is — does she really believe that he’s her one in a million chance at happiness, or will she push him away before he has a chance to show her how good love can be?
One in a Million is a crazy-hot secret billionaire (well, millionaire, but who’s counting?) romance involving a younger woman and a significantly older man. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and only consensual shenanigans await. This contemporary instalove romance is the fourth installment in the Love at First Sight series. Get ready for a super-steamy happily ever after!

Book 4 in the Love at First Sight series and it was Emmy story. Out of her four friends, Emmy is the last one to find love and she was ok with that. Her work as a therapist put a kibosh on love that is until she was at kickboxing and met Oliver. Oliver has been attracted to her since the first time that he saw her and now he needed to figure out a way to talk to her. Once that comes up, it was no stopping them. Their connection and chemistry was off the charts hot. Loved them as a couple and really enjoyed the epilogue and the glimpse in each of the friends futures.

He is a supplicant before his deity
One in a Million is the fourth and last book in the Love at First Sight series by Poppy Parkes. This book is the story of Emmy and Oliver.
Emilia (Emmy) Romano is in her late twenty’s and is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP). She works for herself as a therapist specializing in marital counseling. Emmy has become disillusioned with marriage and long term relationships after seeing all of the couples she has counseled and just how back it get. But she does have her three best friends – Amelia, Kate and Hattie. But each of them has gotten themselves hitched or slid into a solid relationship so she is the only one still single.
Oliver Lewis is forty-seven years old and is a criminal justice prosecutor (lawyer) but is also a tech multi-millionaire. One day while he is standing at the front desk of Shotgun City Fitness he smelt an aroma of spice, vanilla and something vaguely floral which made him turn his head. That is when he saw “thick dark curls cascading down a curvaceous torso and brushing to op of a pert ass.” The man at the desk asked if she was there for kickboxing and all of a sudden Oliver knew what class he was going to. He sort of stalked her at class for the next couple of months, while quickly discovering that he also really liked the workout. So it was a win-win as he got to see her and also get his butt kicked by the instructor.
One night at the end of class a Emmy is approached by another participant with some unwanted attention. When he takes it too far, even as she has brushed him off, Oliver sees the whole incident and steps between them. He then takes the guy down, not physically but still brings him almost to his knees. This gives Oliver an opening to finally talk with Emmy and he quickly asks her out for a drink, which she accepts. They find themselves in a dive bar drinking from frosted mugs and not just getting to know each other but doing some flirting along the way. Before the night is over there will be a lot of hot alley sex, and oh boy is it steamy and explosive. the best in both of their lives. However, Emmy has more feelings for Oliver than she expected and she ditches him after freaking out. Poor Oliver is left wondering if he did something wrong as he sees her walking out the door when she thinks he is not looking. Emmy heads to Hattie’s who has a “get real” talk with her about relationships which makes Emmy start to realize some thing about herself and her “beliefs” about relationships. But has she missed out with Oliver now? Will Oliver still want to be with her after how she ditched him? Actually will they even be able to find each other as they did not exchange phone numbers? Well that last question is each as there is social media and they are both professionals, plus the kickboxing class they both attend.
I liked Emmy and Oliver’s story. It is sweet, a little bit of drama, a whole lot of explosive hot chemistry and a nice ending. It was also nice to get a bit of the other ladies and their men in the Epilogue as they all come together toe welcome baby Sam, Amelia and Tatum’s son. Now I did have one major complaint………..the large number of proofreading errors that I found without even trying. There were misspelt words, wrong words, words in the wrong order, a lot of missing words, words left in after an edit and somethings that just did not make sense. This really annoyed me as they stopped the flow of the story as I was reading. It should have had one more read through and corrections made before it was published. So for me what should have been 5 Stars has instead become 3 1/2 – 4 Stars. Overall I loved the story and the series but had the disappointment of the lack of proofreading.
Emmy is a marriage counselor who doesn’t believe in love, at least not for her. When she meets Oliver an older man, a spark is ignited but will he be able to convince Emmy that they are perfect for each other. This is a short, steamy read and a great conclusion to the Love at First Sight series.
Emmy is a marriage counselor that doesn’t do relationships. Oliver is a lawyer and a bit older. One day he sees her at the gym and joins her kickboxing class just to watch her. The course of their relationship takes a while before she even knows who he is, then it’s a whirlwind affair but he has a lot of work to do before he makes her his.

“Emmy Romano was convinced that love wasn’t in the cards for her.” Really enjoyed this one. A tad slow at times, but well written. Well thought out, great characters. Loved the epilogue. It was beautiful.

Emmy is the last of the four girlfriends to find her love at first sight man. She has a harder time because she has seen what can happen in relationships so she is scared. I just love that Oliver is older and knows what he wants and understands that she needs more. It’s utterly sweet. Their encounter is super sexy but seems right and I will admit that I cried at the end because this wasn’t just a story or series about love and romance but also of the friendships you cherish and how they grow.

Taking risks
3.5
It’s a hot story, with a quick psychological approach to what can upset those who discover that they succumb quickly without being able to really control what their reason advises them.
The rest of the story is pretty cute and tender.
Emmy is a marriage therapist and she is rescued and charmed by Oliver after their joint kickboxing class. But the speed of her attraction to him frightens her and as a specialist in difficult marriages, she is afraid of putting herself in danger.

This is the fourth and final book in the Love at First Sight Series. Emmy is the last of her friends to find her happy ever after and frankly she has given up on finding someone to share her life with. Oliver is a older millionaire lawyer who has been taking the same kick boxing class and has had his eye on Emmy. When another guy from their class comes on too strong to Emmy it is Oliver that steps in but will she let him into her life.
Loved the immediate connection with these characters, Emmy is so analytical that she can’t get out of her own head and see what she can possibly be missing. Oliver was definitely written as a genuine person, can he convince Emmy to give love a chance. Like the support system she has from all her friends.

Emmy and Oliver are surprisingly sweet. Upon meeting, they have an instant connection and plenty of heat. But Emmy is scared of feeling too much, is intent on protecting her heart from pain. Oliver is a true man, intent on protecting his chosen woman emotionally as well as physically. I enjoyed seeing the interactions between Emmy and her friends, especially how they are there for one another, supporting each other. Oliver is a sweetheart to Emmy, helping her face her fears and overcome them. This is a quick and sexy book, good for a fast break.

Emmy is the last single girl standing and she knows it’s for the best to stay that way. Bong a therapist she has seen the downfall of too many relationships to put her heart out there. Oliver has amassed a fortune but not much else in his 47 years. He wants love but is afraid he has waited to long to find it. Oliver has been admiring Emmy for months but is afraid to pursue her but when someone forces his hand he refuses to let her go. Emmy is afraid of her feelings towards Oliver and runs from him knowing it is a mistake. Oliver refuses to give up without a fight though and wins Emmy over. These two were great characters and a fabulous conclusion to the series. A truly wonderful read.

Poppy did an excellent job with the conclusion of the Love at First Sight series. I loved how Emmy was left for last out of the four friends. Emmy and Oliver were fantastic! I think this book was my favorite out of the four because of what transpired, how Emmy was feeling, and how Oliver went about trying to keep Emmy. I loved the very end because it gave a great conclusion and made my heart melt. I highly recommend this book, this series, and this author wholeheartedly!

Emmy is a therapist who has become disillusioned with relationships after seeing all of the couples she works with. Her 3 close friends (Love at First Sight Series) have found HEA but she is not sure she will find it. Oliver is a 47 year old millionaire lawyer who has not found his true love. They both attend a kick boxing class to relieve stress and Oliver has developed feelings for Emmy but has never acted on his feelings until another member of the class comes on to Emmy very strongly. Oliver comes to her defense and their relationship finally begins. Will Emmy be willing to accept Oliver’s feelings when he confesses that he has silently been watching her for months? Will Emmy find her HEA?
This was a short instalove book that was enjoyable to read. I recommend it.
