The blue-eyed Adonis from her art history class.
Aiden Singleton isn’t looking for anything more than a meaningless hook-up. Finishing his graduate degree so that he can teach history and coach hockey in the fall, he’s got plenty on his plate without any added complications. But when a blond-haired beauty needs his help, all he can say is yes.
Heidi McLaughlin – By the Seaside

Danielle Pearl – Love’s a Beach
Liza Farrell is a townie and she has no qualms about it. It’s her quasi-boyfriend who has issues with the “summer people” and at this point she wishes he wasn’t her boyfriend at all.
With college looming just a couple of months away, she couldn’t be more eager to begin the next stage of her life. That is, until Noah Reed returns to town, shaking up both her present, and her future.
Katy Regnery- Single in Sitka
A single Dad. A personal ad. What could possibly go wrong?
When Seattle journalist, Amanda McKendrick, pitches a new story about the increase of bear attacks in Sitka, her newspaper sends her north for two weeks. While there, she answers the personal ad of single dad, Luke Kingston, looking for a little no-strings-attached fun to pass the time.
But the sweet, widowered father of three—who just happens to be a smokin’ hot state trooper—turns out to be a lot more than Amanda bargained for. As the days go by, she wonders if it’ll be possible to return to Seattle without leaving her heart behind.
Shari J. Ryan – The Secret at Sunset

No one warned Alexa that the high tide will swallow the hiking path. Stranded on rocks between the beach and ocean, Alexa finds herself thankful for Lincoln Holt, an attractive survivalist who purposely loses track of the tide’s time.

One Hot Summer is an anthology comprised of seven amazing authors and seven novellas. I read The Summer Of Us by Melanie Moreland. I am in shock right now at the impact this little story had on me. The story is filled with so much emotion. I didn’t want it to end in one way but I also needed to read as fast as I could to make sure these two were going to be okay.
Linc is seventeen years old and lives with a cold and manipulative father. Linc is nothing like his father. He is filled with warmth and compassion and love for one particular young girl he’s known for most of his life. The only light that shines upon his days.
Sunny Jenson lives on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak. She, her mother and two sisters struggle every day to make ends meet. Sunny has known Linc since they were very young. They went from playmates to best friends to more. Now he is the center of her universe. Only they have to be so careful. If his father knew, there was no telling what he might do.
Linc and Sunny have one perfect summer while working at a summer camp. Their days are filled with sunshine, laughter, freedom, and each other. Until everything is ripped away.
Now, ten years later, Linc and Sunny have had no contact since that summer ended. Linc is no longer the young boy afraid of his father. And Sunny is no longer that naïve young girl that believed in happy ever afters. After all these years, they are brought back together. Is there any chance for them to recapture what they once had? Can Linc convince Sunny to give them another chance?
From the very first page this story captivated me. My heart was pounding. I couldn’t put it down. Melanie Moreland has such a talent for weaving her characters into our hearts. These two grabbed on and didn’t let go.
Besides this wonderful story there are six more to experience. This is most definitely worth picking up. I hope you’ll give it a chance and fall in love just as I did.
“I was finally home.”
SUMMER SEDUCTION by Caisey Quinn
Summer Seduction was my first read by Caisey Quinn. It was a sweet, quick read that left me dying for more!
I loved everything about Emersyn and Aiden. She was accepting, thoughtful, and wanted to take care of those she loved most. And Aiden made my heart melt with how sweet he was towards her — he didn’t treat Emersyn as if she were any ordinary girl. Between their chemistry and that twist at the end, it has my forbidden-loving-heart racing for what’s to come!
Great book of short summertime romances by a group of great authors! One great story after another by some of the best authors! Make sure you grab this one today! You will love the stories all bundled up in this great anthology! Enjoy, perfect for the end of summer!
I was very honored to be able to get an ARC of this entire set. I devoured it as fast as I could, there’s so many wonderful stories inside to escape into. I’m going to highlight a couple of my favorites.
The first one was The Inheritance by Amy Briggs. Riley Maxwell finds out that the man who hired her to write his biography has passed and she’s the sole inheritor. Now she’s got to travel from her home in NYC to the vacation town of Port Henry, NY to see some of what she inherited. Riley is pretty much a hermit, so leaving her house is a big step for her. When she gets there, she meets the town veterinarian, who also happens to be the town hottie and sparks do not fly at first meet. This story was so interesting to me, I dived in and didn’t come up for air until it was done. I loved the chemistry between the two and Ms. Briggs writing is wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will have to read much more by Ms.Briggs.
Another one I thoroughly enjoyed was Single in Sitka by Katy Regenry. It’s about Amanda, a reporter who travels up to Sitka, Alaska on a two-week assignment. In town, she happens to meet Luke, a local police sergeant when he rescues her while she’s having to walk back to town. The two come together in such a sweet way, a little underhanded on Luke’s sister’s part, but they make a beautiful couple. This is the beginning to a longer story that will be coming, and I can’t wait to read the entire thing. I need to know what happens between Amanda and Luke, I need to know if they get their forever. The story flows, the writing is so good, it makes you want more.
Finally, the last story that I want to highlight is The Secret at Sunset by Shari J. Ryan. Alexa and her roommates head to Cabo for a weekend getaway to celebrate Grace’s upcoming wedding. While there Alexa meets Lincoln, an employee of the resort they’re staying at. Sparks fly immediately and continue to explode all throughout the story. I completely devoured this story, the characters, the writing, the storyline was just so good, I read it all in one sitting.
This entire box set is a hit, from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed all the different stories and have found more authors for me to read.

5 star Review The Summer of Us (One Hot Summer) by Melanie Moreland
Part of the One Hot Summer Anthology, this review is for The Summer of Us by Melanie Moreland
Wow for such a short story, this one really packed a lot into it. This was a beautiful, well written story that tugged on my heartstrings and pulled my emotions all over the place.
Linc and Sunny were teenager lovers but thanks to his manipulative and violent father they were torn apart and forced to separate. Fast forward 10 years and oh how the world has changed. A second chance at love story with so much feeling, love and emotion that you will be hard pressed to put it down.
Both Linc and Sunny are strong characters whom I found easy to relate too and very likeable. I really fell hard and fast for both Linc and Sunny and my heart just about broke several times reading The Summer Of Us.
I read this in one sitting as it is a quick novella but truly I would have loved if this had been a full length novel. I was absolutely gripped in the story that Ms.Moreland wove.
The Summer of Us by Melanie Moreland is part of the One Hot Summer Anthology. It’s a super sweet story about 2 teenagers fighting Lincon’s dad to be together one day. Even at their short age they know what they want and work together to get it. This is about the joy and hurt of the first love. I loved both characters and their story.
Summer of Us
Summer of Us is a novella written by Melanie Moreland as part of the One Hot Summer Anthology. Melanie Moreland gives us a sweet read starring Lincoln and Sunny. This second chance romance will pull at your heartstrings. Despite the length of the story you will feel an emotional connection to the young couple and find yourself feeling all the emotions in such a short span of time. Melanie Moreland gives us a great story that will hold you captivated by her words through Linc and Sunny’s journey.
Melanie Moreland’s The Summer of Us is short, but sweetish! Lincoln or Linc called my Sunny is not your typical rich boy. He thought that they would have the whole summer together, but his father had other ideas after seeing Lincoln with Sunny one day. They eventually find their way back together to have many more summers together or at least I hope they do…
One Hot Summer is an anthology of steamy summer novellas that are sure to bring some heat to to your summer and a smile to your face. I am reviewing The Summer of Us by one of my favorite authors, Melanie Moreland.
Lincoln lives a solitary life. He may have a rich father and the appearance of wealth but he is abused and lives a dire existence. The one bright spot in his life is Sunny; beautiful, loving, sweet, from the wrong part of town Sunny. She is his world and as long as his dad doesn’t find out about her, she will be safe. He only has to wait 2 years before he will come into his own fortune and free himself to live his own life.
When they have a summer together, it is a treasure they didn’t expect but they both embrace it whole heartedly. It is more than they could have imagined and their love blossomed. I loved their innocence and optimism that they would prevail. Unfortunately, life doesn’t happen as we dream it and as it shatters it leaves behind longlasting scars. When they meet up years later, can they revert back to who forget were that summer, or has life changed them too much?
This tale of a magical summer is a wonderful read and if this is any example of what the rest of the stories in this anthology are like, you will have many hours of enjoyment. This is one you need to snatch up and settle in a cosy seat and relax. You will LOVE it!
This is a review of Melanie Moreland’s Summer of Us and let me tell you, that woman can write! I am never, ever disappointed — when an author can capture the heart and soul of the characters in a 65-page book, you know she has talent. I “generally” shy away from novellas and short stories for that reason, but no worries here — Melanie writes well-developed, interesting, emotional characters and Sunny and Linc are no exception — I loved this couple so much! Second chances, soul mates and all the feels — 5+ stars!
I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of Melanie Moreland’s novella, The Summer of Us, so my review is based on that story. A sweet coming of age romance following super rich, super sweet Lincoln, son of an overbearing, cruel and greedy man who treats Lincoln abysmally, and Sunny, a sweet, kind girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Two hearts, two souls who are meant to be, but who both suffer at the hands of a cruel, vindictive man. I loved it.
I read The Summer of Us by Melanie Moreland and it is amazing! This is the story of Linc and Sunny that will leave you believing in second chances! It was full of emotion and I absolutely didn’t want it to end!! Loved it!
Review for Melanie Moreland’s Summer of Us:
With an overbearing father and his future already planned out for him, Linc hides the fact that he is in love with Sunny as his father does not approve. When they both find themselves working at the same summer camp their romance blooms. But Linc’s dad is onto their secret and whisks Linc away – never to have contact with Sunny again. Will Linc be able to win her heart again after being away for ten years? Or will Summer always connect him with his hateful father and walk away for good? This story was heartbreaking. Melanie Moreland packs a punch in a short story that has everything a huge novel would have. Great characters, a storyline you do not want to put down and so a depth of emotion you will feel like you are on a rollercoaster. This was an awesome story.
Single in Sitka:
I’ve never been to Alaska, but I imagine it to be peaceful and full of wildlife: both forest and oceanic. This story was hot and sexy, but had a sweet family element to it. I love single dad romances. This romance was supposed to be hot and casual, and I can’t wait to read the rest of this story!
I’ve read The Summer of Us by Melanie My Moreland. I’m just gonna say she never disappoints and always finds a way to give us the HEA!
