I have nothing to offer a woman like Cora. Not what she deserves, yet . . . I want her anyway.I never expected to meet the woman of my dreams in a coffee shop. Especially when she’s a famous Hollywood actress and I’m nothing but an overworked, underpaid barista. Only I already have someone special—my son. Providing for him and getting through college are my top priorities. Dating while juggling … priorities. Dating while juggling single fatherhood isn’t.
Cora Bentley deserves a partner who can offer her the world. But the heart wants what it wants, and mine won’t stop beating for hers.
I should walk away. It’s what’s best, even if she won’t admit it. But I can’t bring myself to do so. Not when she’s everything I could ever want.
Not when she could be our one good thing.

I just finished audiobook. Great job of storytelling by Kacey Shea plus a excellent job of narration by Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb.
Steamy and heartwarming most enjoyable listening.
**Audio Review**
One Good Thing is a beautiful story. Cora and Issac were perfect together. I adored their connection, chemistry and easy banter. Issac is single dad to 3 year old David. David is non verbal and is Issac’s whole world. He missed the first year of his life and is struggling with the guilt he feels even though it was not his fault as the mother kept him from Issac. Cora is an older woman, and successful actress. I loved the uniqueness of their relationship. Cora did not care at all that on the surface she and Issac were from different worlds. Cora was patient and passionate with David and so excepting of him. There are some battles to overcome but together they are a strong couple and I loved how they challenged and pushed each other. I loved listening to the audiobook, narrated by Lessa Lamb and Tim Paige. Tim Paige tapped into all the emotions of Issac’s character beautifully and Lessa Lamb’s sweet, tender voice was perfect as well. These narrators blended well together and delivered a flawless narration. Well done!
This was a sweet and touching story. I love a good single parent book and this fits the bill. Isaac is a young single dad, but he is never immature or unnecessarily dramatic. Cora is such a great character. She is a hard working actress who is determined in both life and love. They communicate. They act like grown-ups. They support each other. And I love all of it. Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb did an incredible job with the narration. Both performances were very genuine and heartfelt. I would have enjoyed a native Spanish speaker doing the narration, because some pronunciation was a little off, but overall a really good book.
When a friend who loves audio books tells you that you need to listen to a book, you do it. This story was so powerful and addicting. It really showed how our biggest critic is ourselves and how the only thing that really stops us from true happiness is our own doubts and fears. This is the story of Cora, an actress, and Isaac, a single father who works at a coffee shop. Cora thinks he’s amazing and as she gets to know him falls more for him. Isaac has a low opinion of himself because he can’t do more for his son who is different. He thinks he isn’t good enough for a famous actress like Cora. But Cora doesn’t agree and makes it her mission to prove to him that he does deserve her. In fact she feels she is lucky to be in his life and the life of his son. But both their doubts might destroy their chance at true love. This story is heart gripping and left me breath less. It’s probably one of most beautiful stories I’ve ever experienced. And these narrators, who are two of my fav, really captured Cora and Isaac. I really felt like their voice were the characters. This is a must read/listen.
4.5 Outstanding and Heartfelt Stars!!
One Good Thing is about Issac, a single dad that dedicates his life to his special needs son, to his work and school with the help of his supportive sister, and Cora, a succesful actriz with a loving family, great friends but unlucky finding real love. This is a story about life struggles, dedication, finding love, and achieving one’s dreams.
Cora and Issac journey is filled with real life struggles, dreams, finding lasting love in unexpected places, friendship, heartache, compassion, passionate love, and much more. Cora’s decision at the end was her own, no one pressure her after finding out that she needed to leave the country for a very long time, but, she thought there were more important thing in her life at the moment, and I applaude her for that. (I have seen this happend first hand, with family and friends, and being selfless can bring you more gratifications in life.)
Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb brought the story to life mastefully and expertly. Their performance was outstanding and I loved and enjoyed every minute of it.
I enjoyed this story this couples journey to happiness
A beautiful love story between two established people. Issac and Cora are older and at a better place in their lives than most romance couples,
Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb brought it to life wonderfully.
Cora, the one that’s there for others but has no love of her own.
Isaac, trying to make everything work with his son, school and job at a coffee shop.
I just loved their story and the way they acted towards each other. I hope we can meet them again later on.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Wow! This story is beautifully written. The storyline is emotional and romantic. Cora and Isaac are beautiful characters. They share an instant attraction, and an undeniable chemistry. Cora is independent, strong, supportive, caring, and determined. Isaac, a single Dad, is handsome, and caring. They are opposite attracts, but they are perfect together. I love the ending. Tim Paige and Tessa Lamb did a great job with the narration. This story has characters interconnected with the Off Track Records Series. I enjoyed it.
OMG…we met Cora in the 3UG series and, I must admit, that I didn’t much care for her. However, she redeemed herself in this story! Cora is, surprisingly, a down-to-earth Hollywood actress. She drives a Hummer and hangs out with bad boy rockstars. She also has a thing for the barista at her neighborhood coffeeshop and has been getting to know him for a while. Her latest film, though, may be life altering. Isaac is a struggling single dad. He goes to school during the day, takes care of his 3yo sin…who doesn’t speak…and works overnight at a coffee shop. He’s insanely attracted to Cora but doesn’t think that he’d stand a chance with her…until he does.
This is a beautiful, well written story of love, commitment, sacrifices and family.
This book is everything!! The perfect love story that shows it doesn’t matter your income or circumstances, if it is right the there is no stopping the perfect love. Both families are amazing and loving and my heart couldn’t have filled anymore than this book already did. I just loved everything about it!
I had my doubts about Cora in the beginning. I thought she might be trouble for Trent & Lexi, but really she has proven herself over and over how big her heart is and how genuine a friend she truly can be. Cora has kept love from getting too close. She’s learned the hard way and now uses her very successful career to keep her incredibly busy, challenged and well mostly satisfied. But when she finds herself returning to the little coffee shop late at night just to talk to the extremely gorgeous barista, Cora begins to wonder what it would be like maybe just maybe giving into to those feelings.
Issac’s life couldn’t feel more out of control. Holding down 2 jobs, going to school to try and finish a college degree and taking care of the most important thing in his life, well it doesn’t leave time for anything else. Not even to fantasize about the amazingly, beautiful actress that comes in sometimes late at night just to have some tea and somehow have these unbelievably great conversations with him.
I love everything about this book. Fate brings Cora & Issac together, fear attempts to tear them apart, grace gently shows each of them how much they are loved by each other and those that care about them. It’s an incredible romance, rich with family, overcoming challenges and finding home.
Audio Review
I really enjoyed this audiobook as it has passion but also heart. We have Isaac who is struggling to keep things together and along comes Cora and she is his dream but he thinks that is all she will be but there is more to Cora than just being a famous actress. When Isaac finally lets her in he learns its ok to need someone and together they can make their unconventional life work. There is plenty about the families and the struggles they all face and it shows how life isn’t always easy but you can survive with family and love.
Tim Paige was great, loved listening to him, Lessa Lamb was new to me and she does a good job.
I loved this story and it is one that will melt your heart. I highly recommend this book.
A heartwarming and emotional story. It will captivate your heart and leave you swooning. I loved the characters and steamy chemistry. It’s an entertaining read and not to be missed.
I am a huge fan of Kacey Shea’s work. I first met Cora in the 3UG Series(which is amazing and highly recommend). It was so great to see this sweet down to earth but famous character get her love story. Isaac is everything you want in a BBF! Isaac and Cora’s journey to their HEA is paved with insecurities and a single dad struggling with more complex issues to deal with. Ms. Shea did an amazing job showing the emotions and struggles involved with a parent of a child with a disability. Being a parent is hard enough and add, working, single, college and disability to the mix, it is chaos. This was such a sweet story. Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb’s narration will have you feeling each and every emotion. Well done.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Cora is a successful actress who has finally gotten the role of her dreams but the same can’t be said for her personal life. She is attracted to Isaac which makes her a regular at the coffeeshop where he works and the chemistry between them ignites.
Isaac is a man with a lot on his plate which includes working full time, attending school and being a single father to his son who has more needs than most. When he meets Cora there is no denying the attraction between them, but he feels that she deserves so much more than he can give her.
These characters were everything you could want and more. Cora is just a good person who is always looking out for those she cares about and just wants the best for Isaac and his son while Isaac always puts his son and family first with no thought of the consequences to himself. The connection between them goes far beyond the physical as they support each other through all the obstacles that life throws at them.
Another 5 star read from Kacey Shea!! She never disappoints. Cora and Isaac were perfect and the chemistry between them felt so real! I’m a sucker for single dad romances and One Good Thing was excellent. David was absolutely adorable. 10/10 would recommend One Good Thing!
I love this book! Cora and Issac were adorable together. I love the opposites attract and single dad tropes and they’re both perfectly shown here. I found myself not wanting to put the book down, always saying I’d stop when I reached the next chapter. My favorite part is how Cora connected with and understood David
Kacey Shea always has and always will be a one-click author for me. Not only do I feel a connection to all her characters, but her meticulous attention to detail ensures an authentic and realistic layer that I absolutely love in my romance novels.
In One Good Thing Isaac and Cora are the epitome of opposites. Both wading through their very different pressures and expectations, these two unexpectedly get cocooned in a bubble of delicious and undeniable chemistry. Despite the odds Isaac and Cora are more than their physical connection. Lust turns to love and together they navigate a relationship that’s deeper and more life-changing than either of them could have anticipated.
This book is honest, the characters are vulnerable, and on every page Kacey Shea’s words breath life into a story about two people who pushed their own boundaries and chased their well deserved happy ever after
One Good Thing
By: Kacey Shea
Narrated by: Tim Paige, Lessa Lamb
Kacey Shea is a master at stealing my heart. Each book I know it’s my favorite, but this one is really special. Featuring Cora, who we met in the Off the Tracks series, she is getting her coffee from the good looking, tattooed barista. There is definitely chemistry, and after a night of quick passion, the two are destined for love. Or are they? Cora is building her career, working to become the best at her craft. Isaac is a jack of all trades and a single dad just trying to keep his head above water. Can they possibly find a way to have a relationship? From start to finish I was completely invested in this couple. I love Cora. She may be an actress in the limelight, but she is down to earth in her life. She sees the good in people and with patience and love gives of herself. Isaac is impossible not to love. He is hard working, responsible and his love for his son just made me melt. Shea also writes about relevant issues, dealing with autism both as a child and adult. Her ability to create awareness as we enjoy these characters is a tribute to her writing. This is going in my top listens of the year.
Her casting of Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb could not have been chosen better. These characters are so authentic and the narration reflects it. Paige comes in as Isaac, who is passionate in all aspects of his life. Full of emotion, Isaac’s feelings come through and steals your heart. Cora is strong, and compassionate. Each scene, Cora is that woman you want to know, and Lamb brings out that personality perfectly. I loved this team, their voices fit together well and made this a fantastic listen.

Outstanding Story & Narration Enthralling & Heartfelt!
One Good Thing
By: Kacey Shea
Narrated by: Tim Paige, Lessa Lamb
I loved this book, the story and the characters are absolutely amazing. Kacey Shea is one of my favorite authors, she is a gifted author who creates stories that are realistic and easy to relate to and she includes people from different walks of life, some who you would think would never work or mix in real life, but she shows us how it is done. Cora, an actress who works hard and is making a name for herself in the industry, in a good way of course. I loved that her success and fame never went to her head and she always remembered her roots. She enjoyed visiting a local coffee shop to chat with the barrister, ok she kind of crushed on him and decided it was time to make a play on him. Isaac, a single Dad, works several jobs to make ends meet and trying to finish college all while raising his three year old son. He has a supportive family but there is only so much they could do. He is an admiral character, I loved his huge heart and his dedication to his son David. Cora had to leave the country to film on location, she could not get Isaac out her mind and it was the same for him. So when Cora sees him working on the movie set she is pleasantly surprised, Isaac was a little unsure of himself at first but the chemistry between them could only be denied for so long. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with plenty of drama, heartfelt and emotional moments and the start of a wonderful romance. I thought Cora and Isaac were perfect together and for each other, she was great with David too. Kacey Shea thank you for another awesome story and emotional roller coaster ride. I loved the cameo appearance of Three Ugly Guys, happy to see Cora and Trent remained friends over the years.
And for the narration, Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb are the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, they gave each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, it was like they made each role their own, Tim Paige became Isaac, sounding just like I pictured him to sound, the same with Lessa Lamb’s Cora. They were great playing the secondary characters too. Their talent has no limits and it truly shines in this book as they captured every single emotion these characters felt and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this awesome listen and for all the heart you put into your work.
