First, I want to thank Helene Fermont and BOTBSPublicity for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
WOW!! One Fatal Night by Helene Fermont was intense and fast paced. This book will have you on the seat of your chair with all different questions leading up to the final answers at the end of the book.
Helene’s dedication to her book I totally adored and could relate to full heartedly. It is dedicated to all the people whose lives turned out different than they wanted them to. Always remember that nobody and nothing is as they do what they seem.
I absolutely loved the name Astrid for the main character. It is very unique and not used much in books. She was my favorite character in the book. I loved learning about her past to find out how it related to the present story.. She is written as a very strong woman in this book who had been through a lot. For that reason I wanted to give her a hug.
Helene did an incredible job keeping us on our toes with the twists, turns, shocking moments I didn’t see coming. She has a gift for writing in this genre.
Something missing
3.5 stars
This story of former petty criminals who find they can’t escape their checkered past was just okay. The dialogue starting from business mogul Daniel’s first encounter with young Astrid seems off. It’s an interesting plot but I had issues with the execution, especially a convoluted time line related to Astrid’s early years and how old she would have been when Daniel and Joel left Bergen. For me it just didn’t add up.
Astrid Jensen is looking for the man who was responsible for her mother’s suicide. She’s also looking for her father.. a man she’s never met. Are they one and the same?
People from her mother’s past start dying … will she be next?
This is a short read .. less than 200 pages. While I was not enthralled with this book, it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever read. I could not get into this one … I didn’t connect with the characters at all. This is the first I’ve read of this author. I know the author has other books out there …and I might try one of those. This one may have been an anomaly.
Many thanks to the author / Cameron Publicity & Marketing Ltd / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
This is a really great psychological thriller. The story had a great flow and great character work. Both are well written and hold your interest throughout. A book I couldn’t stop reading. I would recommend this book.
