Enjoyed finding out more about the team. Don’t think the story is as good as the first two.
Irish Winters reaches out and grabs your attention with the first few pages of her books and you just can’t put them down. One- Eyed Jack is no exception and what a beginning this one has. Roxy Thurston, a Washington, D.C. cop winds up in the middle of a bank robbery/hostage situation with the hostage having a bomb strapped to her chest. Isaiah Zaroyin, a member of the FBI’s secret psychic team is nearby and senses the trouble. An undercover assignment has the two working together to track down the robbery suspects. But all is not as it seems and it’s hard to tell who is the good guy and who is bad and why is the safe house no longer safe? The twists and turns will leave you spellbound.
Roxy and Isaiah are perfect together. They are two strong people who are dedicated to their professions and don’t want anything to get in the way of it. But the attraction is there and it isn’t long before their walls crumble. One Eyed Jack has a wide range of supporting characters. There are two adorable children starved for their mothers love and attention, a loyal dog always at their side. Candy, the mother, but what kind of mother is she? And what is the connection between the 3 men in her life? And , of course, some familiar faces from the psychic team make an appearance to aid in some rather harrowing situations. (As a side note, I recently came across a newspaper article about an actual FBI psychic team.)
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Irish Winters delivers another entertaining tale in this third book of the Deuces Wild Series featuring the FBI psychic team headed by Tucker Chase. This is Isaiah Zaroyin’s story. I have really been looking forward to Isaiah’s story; I fell in love with Isaiah when we first met him in King of Hearts, book 1 of the series. He is such an incredible character, not only is he a gifted psychic, he is a sweet, compassionate and sensitive swoon worthy hero. I was hoping for someone for him that would be affectionate, attentive and at least as sensitive as he is, and then along came Officer Roxy Thurston. It took me a while to warm up to her as she was outspoken, gruff and seemed to have chip on her shoulder. She didn’t seem to like anyone; however Isaiah proved to be too much for her to resist. This story was certainly exciting with lots of action and some edge of your seat excitement. The children, Kitty and Darrin, grabbed my heart and I wanted to scoop them up and take them home, along with Nugget the dog. I received an ARC and am writing a voluntary review. I really enjoyed this story and am more than pleased to recommend it.
What a fantastic book! Every book I read of Irish Winters I think is the best one yet and this one is no exception! She is such a talented writer and her books are all page turners. If you haven’t read any of her books you are really missing out. Thanks Irish for another great read!
Oh, man! I am loving this. Action! Hot Chemistry the can’t-keep-your-hands-off kind. An adorable big ole dog, kids, and bad guys, the who-can-you-trust-kind. Not to mention HOT guys! Hot psychic guys. This has it all. Couldn’t sleep till I’d read it.
The FBI has a team few know about. Psychics. They solve cases the way no one else can. Isaiah is one of the strongest of them all. It took a lot of suffering to get here and hone his skills. The man who saved him is his leader and mentor. This case is not assigned to him he stumbles into literally. A bank robbery in progress. Between Isaiah and a city detective, Roxy, they break up the crime and get most of the bad guys. Not all. So begins a ride that will change many lives–including them both. Since cops and the FBI aren’t known to get along, the fact that they can’t keep their hands off each other makes working together a whole new set of problems.
This author always adds heart to her action romances. You’ve got a couple of kids who have had no breaks, their dog who will steal your heart, and a team of brotherhood and family. I repeat, this book has it all. It is the third in the series and stands alone, however, warning: you will want to read the others just because this one is that good.
A winner I strongly recommend.
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
