A heart-stopping sexy contemporary romance prequel to USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s new Cruel Trilogy.I spot the mysterious stranger across the party.I’d seen him in the park, writing furiously in his worn leather notebook. He’s pure confidence, born and bred in high society with eyes like a hawk—observant, cunning, and wicked. With sensual lips and a body made to worship, he’s … lips and a body made to worship, he’s exquisite. A work of art.
While I’m young, innocent, and completely out of my depth.
But I’m drawn to him. Captivated by his approach. When he asks for one night, I have only one word for him.
Yes.
One summer in Paris. One night with him. One cruel night.

It’s Natalie’s last night in Paris. When she spots the handsome mysterious stranger she has seen writing in his notebook at the park near her flat all summer, she can’t resist walking up to him even though it’s completely out of character for her and probably a bad idea.
When Penn offers her a night exploring the city, she can’t say no. He’s brooding, yet attentive and plays to Natalie’s romantic and innocent nature. Complete opposites, they seem to fit amazingly well . . .even though neither truly knows who the other really is. They explore and dance and make love until dawn, but when the magical night ends, the harsh reality of morning sets in and Natalie is left jaded and alone.
Now, it’s six years later and Natalie is still chasing her dreams. She’s ready to start her newest adventure in the Hampton’s as a house sitter to the wealthy, giving he the time she needs to focus on her writing. Yet she’s unable to forget that one cruel night in Paris.
One Cruel Night was a fabulous sneak peek into how Natalie and Penn meet in Paris setting up what is to come in Cruel Money. This prequel has so much passion it was astounding! I felt like I was experiencing the Paris right along with Natalie as Penn showed her things no one else could have. I was also left completely intrigued by Penn’s character wanting to know more about who he really is.
One Cruel Night is definitely a prequel and will absolutely leave you wanting more. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Cruel Money to continue on with this story. 4 stars.
This is a short book that serves as a prequel/extended prologue to Kyla’s book Cruel Money that comes out soon. It introduces us to Penn and Natalie and their one night together in Paris. Having been to Paris, I enjoyed the rich detail of the story. It set up the complex backstory of this couple and I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the next book.
