You’ll love Hanna with her quick wit and even quicker mouth. Once Upon a Werewolves will have you laughing out loud. A lot. Can’t wait for more!!
This is an adorable who dunnit with a hunky cop, quirky artists and a mysterious, wealthy and sexy new boss. Hanna is fun and in for a load of surprises. I laughed out loud.
I LOVED this book. It’s one of those that I just couldn’t put down…AND it has everything you’d want in a well-written story…it captures your attention from the beginning and doesn’t loosen it’s grip…the only bad part in it is the end when you’re finished, but you don’t want to stop! It is the perfect combo of laugh-out-loud moments, mystery, odd-ball but great characters, some hunkiness thrown in, and a little sweet but hot romance for good measure. The ending came as a complete surprise to me, and the way the book progressed often made me wonder where the author was going with this! I was NOT disappointed with the result. As you can see, there are no spoilers in my review, you just have to take that giant leap of faith and stop reading this here and go get this book now! It’s not just me, read the other reviews too! I received a complimentary copy of this book and happily am providing my honest review. Ms. St. Aubin hit this one out of the park! I can hardly wait for the next installment!
A hot and hairy mystery
Cynthia St Aubin’s latest book was worth the wait, just devoured it in one sitting. However things aren’t as straightforward as they first appear when body start to appear with their throats ripped out. Evidence begins to her boss not only being the killer but also a Werewolf. Will Hannah find out the truth before it cost her, her life.
Can’t wait for the next book
I loved this story.
Wow, I’m so excited and happy to see new work from this author. I absolutely love all of her work. And I could see her in this story. All her snarkiness, sass, and love of cheese. She never disappoints. This story had it all. Hot guys, snarkiness, sass, love of cheese, cats, paranormals, suspense. Lots of twists and turns. I can’t wait till the next book!
I have wanted to read Cynthia St. Aubin for quite a few years now and I thought that with Once Upon A Werewolf would be the perfect place to start! And obviously, I haven’t read anything else of hers, but I don’t think I was wrong because this book was fan-flipping-tastic! I enjoyed Once Upon a Werewolf from the very beginning and I had such a good time the whole through. It kept me guessing, made me laugh, and had me wondering what was going to happen next. It was a little goofy and silly, but I loved that — I just loved the whole book. Once Upon a Werewolf was engaging, surprising, entertaining and I can’t wait to read the next book and work through Ms. St. Aubin’s backlist!
I really enjoyed this book! It was funny and very unique take on werewolf’s. Not to mention two total alphas that our freshly single heroine is drooling over. The mystery throughout the book looks like it points to one of the guys, but there is an amazing culmination at the end! I’m really looking forward to reading more about these characters.
“Monkey spirit doesn’t want to sell, I noted on my pad. This job had officially become responsible for some of the strangest sentences I had ever spoken, written, or thought in my life.”
It’s easy to see why Cynthia St. Aubin is a US Today Bestselling author. The woman knows how to turn a phrase. She has a writing style that displays her intelligence and wealth of knowledge without being stuffy or pretentious. She writes characters that are charming and easy to relate to – especially when they like food as much as you do.
I’d classify this book as a paranormal cozy mystery. It’s unlike anything I’ve read before, and was a nice change of pace for me. The story was creative, well-written, and left me ready for the next book in the series.
Hanna was such a lovable character, especially in her more vulnerable moments. A recently divorced cat lover at the end of her rope fudges her resume because WHAT COULD GO WRONG? This book served up a lot of different emotions, especially toward the end, but I spent most of this book laughing out loud and experiencing a hint of secondhand embarrassment. It was exactly what I needed to get out of my reading slump.
I can hardly wait for the next installment! There is so much we need to learn about the entire crew of characters, but particularly Hanna and Abernathy. I recommend this for fans of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series because this is exactly the same sort of humor which means it is right up my alley! Be prepared for sexual tension, hot men, mysteries abound, inventive swearing, and twists aplenty in this thrilling paranormal mystery romp.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a must read. Reading this book resulted in a book hangover. I couldn’t put it down. It has everything I love in it. It has humor, heart, suspense, intrigue, and heat. Poor Hanna, she’s at her lowest moment in life. Divorced and trying to stay afloat. Her last effort for a job because eating is necessary, is the moment that will forever change her life. This book has twists and turns that kept me guessing. I’m not gonna lie I gasped a few times. There were a few spots in this one it was like reading through my fingers because I was scared to where things were going to go. Though there is one part that was sad for me and I was happy where things ended up going. All the characters have me intrigued. Cynthia St. Aubin has me hooked on this series already and I’m eagerly awaiting the next book. She has a way of writing that just sucks you right into the story. The little bombshell left at the end of this one has me all excited for what is to come.
I loved this story! The characters are great and loveable. I didn’t want to stop reading and once I finished it I wanted more.
I have been a fan of Cynthia St Aubin for quite some time now, and of course when the chance came to read her newest book I was on board immediately, and as usual she did not disappoint. It was a fun read with interesting and complex characters, plenty of mystery, humor and steamy romance and I can’t wait to see what will happen next. I will try my best to be patient for the next installment, in the meantime I will just re-read the book since I pretty much devoured it and now can enjoy it in my leisure.
Recently divorced art history grad student Hanna Harvey, desperate for a job ASAP just fibbed her way into a new job. She is now the new assistant to a gorgeous art gallery owner, Mark Abernathy. Abernathy is a bit eccentric and messy so Hanna has her work cut out for her. When one of Abernathy’s former lady friends is found murdered, Abernathy is the prime suspect. Hanna finds herself in the middle of the murder investigation and caught gets between her boss and the head detective James Morrison.
This is a hilarious start to a new mystery series. The characters are wonderfully quirky. The mystery is well-developed, moves at a quick pace, and is full of twists and turns. The storyline has something for everyone: comedy, romance, paranormal, and pets. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I received a copy of this book at my request, and I have voluntarily left this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.
I love the worlds Cynthia builds. All you can want with action, sexiness and thrown in cuss words your mind wouldn’t think to make up lol. This book leaves you on the edge of your seat with did he or didn’t he? But now Hanna is left with more questions and has to ask was the doughnut worth it lol?
Be prepared to laugh and laugh and laugh some more. If you’re familiar with this author then you know not to read with anything in your mouth, I found out the hard way in the past. Okay so what can I say without giving anything away about this book.. hot bosses, trips overseas, art shop, kitty cats and of course werewolves (see title duh). Oh and you’ll want more and want it now, at least I do.

My review :
When bodies began to pile up around her new boss, a woman has to wonder if she might be next …
As I said a few days ago, I very rarely read contemporary romance, but as this one has a paranormal side, I jumped to discover what all the fuss was about it.
First, this book ends on a cliffhanger, how I hate cliffhangers but I knew when I purchased this book, it might be a trilogy or more, my brain is not sure anymore, and now I will have to bite my nails for some time until the next installment.
This is a story told in the first person. I liked Hanna and her antics but at time she annoyed me, yet I can also relate, I read shifters books, not she!
So yes, between the title and the cover, it is no spoiler to say her boss is a werewolf and women seem to have a tendency to die when he is in the area.
Why with a cop urging her to give him insights about her new boss, plus his various quirks which put him immediately on top of the suspects list, not easy for a woman a bit lost to think straight.
And a chicken when exposed to a wolf, it does not think anymore, it runs…
And running she does, forgetting to balance everything she knows for what it could be.
I confess it is this aspect of her personality I was not fond of, she does not listen, she falls easily in the traps lined for her, I know her strength is no match with paranormal creatures but she jumped so readily in the web expressly woven for her, when she has a brain and could have used it.
As it is a one side point of view read, it is more difficult to talk about Abernathy, yet from the very beginning I loved him.
Sure he is a walking enigma but he is kind, patient and caring. Why I disliked Hanna for immediately pointing her fingers towards him.
Morrison is to me the rebound guy, the one to confort Hanna she is still an attractive woman.
But only the next books will give the answers but I do hope it will not be a love triangle, there is nothing I dislike more than this trope.
4 stars for this fun read, and now I have to wait to see what happen next and with what man will Mrs St. Aubin tie Hanna.
I was granted a free copy by the author but purchased my own.
Here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Last note : Never went to the Meurice hotel but I totally agree with getting lost in a fromagerie.
