Piece of cake.
NOT.
Performing with the sweet, sassy and insanely wonderful Ally is like one gigantic obstacle course of challenges for my libido. And my libido is one sexy love song away from kissing her senseless and taking her home.
But, I’m not a serious kind of guy, and she’s not a one-night-stand kind of woman. If we cross the horizontal line, we might risk our sure thing and end up out of tune forever…

Oh man the chemistry these two have is off the charts. Both have been each others best friends for years denying the feelings they have but a wrench gets thrown into the mix when it becomes too much. The temptation is strong but will they be able to find happiness? Will they risk their friendship?
Miller has always been there for Aly the same as she has been for him. The bond they have is strong but he only sees her as the girl who sings with her brother. She wants him to see beneath all that to what she can really do but will he be open to the change?
This series has been addicting and I can’t get enough of these brothers. I highly recommend this book along with the first. I can’t wait for the next!!
Please excuse me while I finish my swoon fest over here!! Miller Hart, teen heart throb turned dirty talking best friend with a million dollar smile and abs that won’t quit has captured my attention and I’m fan girling HARDDDDD right now.
Lauren Blakely is out to slay me with these Heartbreaker men! I can’t stop reading them. My cup of love is running over. Over filled with all the romantic notions LB is playing out for me. Seriously, best friends to lovers is my favorite trope but when besties think they can add bennies to their relationship, I die. The chemistry kills me every time. Team #ZimmerHart had me swooning from start to finish.
Ally and Miller melted my heart. While their relationship was strictly friend zone for the first six years, seeing each other in a new light really turned up the heat. Lauren Blakely knows how to spoil a reader with the sweetest men while keeping them dirty in all the right ways.
The Heartbreaker men are some of my favorite LB characters to date. I can’t wait for the last installment in the series. If you have t started reading yet, you still have time to catch up!
Once Upon a Sure Thing by Lauren Blakely is the seond book in her Heartbreakers Series. While interconnected, every book is about another couple and can easily be read as a standalone.
For better understanding I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book Once aUpon a Real Good Time is Campbell and Mackenzie´s story.
Once Upon a Sure THing tells Miller and Ally´s story.
Miller Hart is one of three brothers, the former music stars. Now he´s lonely, a bit goalless and is looking for a new opportunity. And this opportunity comes in a very unexpected form.
Ally is his best friend, she´s the guardian of her nice and she´s a narrator for YA and NA novels. Both are strictly friend-zoned, but there´s ember under the ashes, a lot. They have chemistry like crazy and hidden feelings.
Prepare, you´ll looking at youtube videos !
Once Upon a Sure Thing is a mash-up, friends to lovers story, extremely well written and told and I was greatly entertained with Miller and Ally´s story. I liked the writing, the characters and the story and give 4,5 stars.
Can’t wait to read the next book
I’m so happy that we don’t have to wait long between this series of standalones because with each book I’m anxiously waiting for the next one to drop on my Kindle! Lauren Blakely is the queen of rom coms and she’s hitting it out of the park with these books!
Once Upon A Sure Thing is a fast paced story of Miller and Ally, friends turned lovers. Miller is everything with his love for music and his amazing personality. Ally is fun and can handle Miller like no other. But what sold me? The dialogue between the two…amazing. Hot. Sexy. I cannot say enough about it! Of course, there was a tad bit of drama but it was resolved quickly which I really enjoyed.
Overall, Once Upon A Sure Thing was a great read and while I’m looking forward to the next book, I really don’t want the series to end!
I had the honor of getting to read this early and it was such a fun ride! There’s nothing quite like a friends to lovers romance mixed in with some rockstar vibes and Lauren Blakely is known to do both super well. Miller and Ally had me hooked from the get go. I can’t wait to finish out this series!
I loved the natural and easy relationship between Miller and Ally and their flirty, witty banter were hilarious. They both were attracted to each other from the beginning of their friendship but resisted to move beyond friends because they did not want to lose each other. Once their chemistry was ignited, all the sparks and steam were unstoppable. Both Miller and Ally were kind, thoughtful, funny and devoted to their families. They were so adorable and easy to connect with, I cannot help but fall in love with them.
I absolutely enjoyed this fun, sexy story and would highly recommend it. Even though it’s part of a series, this book is a true standalone; I can totally vouch for that as I didn’t read the first book (Campbell’s story) in the series. I have to rectified that before Miles’ story comes out next.
I received an advance reviewer copy of the book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The Heartbreakers Series only gets better with Once Upon A Sure Thing! Witty, sexy, and always a good time, Lauren Blakely once again confirms why she’s one of my top “one-click” authors.
Ally and Miller have been best friends for years, but Miller is thrown for a loop during his search for a singing partner when Ally shows up to audition. Not only is he blown away by her talent, so is everything he thought he knew about his best friend. I loved watching their relationship evolve from friends to lovers. Plus, Miller is just hot. I have a thing for musician and and he totally lived up to the fantasy. Miller and Ally’s chemistry and passion was spot on and perfectly matched by their fantastic banter. Cameos from past characters made for an awesome treat and great set up for the next book. Can’t wait for Miles’ story. 5 Stars
Still swooning here! Well hellooooooo Miller Hart! What a lighthearted, fun read! Once Upon a Sure Thing is the second book in the Heartbreakers series and it is middle brother Miller’s story. It is a friends-to-lovers book that is well-written and utterly charming. There are times when what you subconsciously seek is something that has been there all along. Right in front of your face. Ally and Miller have been best friends for six years. They have been there for each other through thick and thin. An attraction has always been present, but pushed to the side by both of them in favor of the closeness they cherished as friends. Until more intimate feelings become impossible to ignore. Enter smoking hot sexy times. Let’s just say…. making music isn’t all a piano is good for. I devoured this book in a day and looking forward to youngest brother, Miles, story coming out soon.

Ally Zimmerman is a book narrator and his raising her niece Chloe after her sister passed away. She is struggling to make ends meet. She would love to sing in a band with her best friend Miller but she knows he won’t consider her.
Miller Hart was once part of a successful band but since they broke up he is ready to get back on stage if he can find the right person to sing a duet with.
When Miller discovers Honey Lavender he knows he has found the right person to duet with. Yet when he discovers the truth will he be willing to risk a friendship? Will Ally and Miller risk their friendship when the chemistry between them heats up?
This is another great book in the series!
I really liked Ally and how she raised her niece and it wasn’t easy for her. I loved that she had other goals and really wanted to sing but knew that Miller would never give her an honest chance.
Miller was great and he had such success before in his group and really missed performing on stage. His friendship with Ally meant the world to him and he really did not want anything to come between them, which was why he didn’t want to sing with her.
I loved when the “reveal” happened and the chemistry that came out of it! I hoped something more would and I was excited and then disappointed and I was super sad for Ally.
I loved when they performed on stage and everything that happened after! It made me super happy and I am excited for what is to come with the Heartbreakers!
The epilogue was awesome and I can’t wait for more!
This series is just getting better and better. If you loved Campbell from ONCE UPON A REAL GOOD TIME, you will fall in love with Miller more. So Miller is the brother who wanted the Heartbreakers to be back again, the one who likes to sing, the one who can cheery anyone up, and of course, Ally’s best friend.
I love the fact that…
He and Ally had been friends for so long.
He cares for Ally a whole lot.
He’s freakin cheerful.
He loves Chloe like his own.
and Ally…
She finally tried to get out of her comfort zone…
She finally took the risk, but ended up afraid at some point.
She loves Chloe and was doing everything for her.
A hardworker and willing to do anything for Chloe.
Even if it means giving up the man she really wanted.
Once Upon A Sure Thing gave as a whole lot of interesting secondary characters starting with Chloe. She’s a delightful eleven year old who still believe in Santa Claus. She’s such a charm. You just can’t help but adore her and her aunt.
I love how the romance unravel. Yes, they did have chemistry previously and you can feel it ever since the first book, but Lauren Blakely finally let it all out on the second book, simmering slowly, until they finally jump into it.
It was really fun, sweet, and sexy. The drama was mild, just enough for the taste. But most of it – it was a great, smooth read and easy on the heart. Something that would make you giggle and make you feel good and root for the characters. Yes, Heartbreakers are coming to town once again!
Once Upon A Sure Thing will surely make you fall in love!
I can’t wait for the final book in the series!
Once Upon A Sure Thing was a fun, sweet and sexy read. I love a great friends to lovers romance and this book was all that and so much more.
From the previous glimpses of Miller and Ally I got in Campbell’s book there was glimmer of something between them that I couldn’t wait to see explored. Ally’s main focus has always been to provide the best for her niece. Her best friend, Miller has always been there by her side no matter what. After six years of friendship neither want to do anything to jeopardize their relationship but sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants. From start to finish the chemistry and sexy banter between them had me rooting for them. I loved watching them fight rather unsuccessfully what was right in front of them and what was so obvious to everyone else.
This sexy, sweet and feel good read held ne captivated from beginning to end. I laughed, ranted, sighed, and swooned throughout this fantastic read. I can’t wait to see the next Heartbreaker meet his match!
Aww…what a super cute read! These Heartbreaker men are adorable! Miller and Ally had such a fun friends-to-lovers-story. Miller has a laid back, easy going personality, but when things became intimate, he was intense and super sexy! Lauren Blakely sure knows how to write some HOT scenes! In the end, I was glad to see everything work out for Ally. That ending with Chloe, brought tears to my eyes. This was such a great read!
If you are looking for a light, read-in-one-sitting, sweet and fun love story (with some serious heat), look no further! Once Upon A Sure Thing is the perfect book for you!
Review by Lys
It is impossible not to smile while reading about Miller and Ally in Once Upon A Sure Thing. They are honey and sugar dipped in sunshine.
Where Campbell Hart is the older, dirty talking Heartbreaker, Miller is the middle, happy-go-lucky Heartbreaker. I’m now intrigued as to what Miles, the youngest Heartbreaker will be like, but this review isn’t about him, it’s about dreamy Miller.
Once Upon A Sure Thing is the second book in Lauren Blakely’s feel good romcom Heartbreaker series. This book is filled with all kinds of perfect from beginning to end. A friends to lovers story involving a former teen rockstar and a YouTube singing sensation, but like the first book, it is filled with family and real world obligations. The combination is pure magic, plus I felt as if I could run into Miller and Ally on the streets of NY I felt so at home with both of them.
It’s been six years of a steady friendship for both Miller and Ally and neither want to lose what they’ve built, but once the flood gates open it’s hard to stop the water from flowing over the dam.
Miller could finally have everything he’s been missing since his brother’s disbanded Heartbreakers by singing with Ally, but he’s also never been able to keep a long term relationship. He’s not sure he can handle both a professional and personal relationship with his best friend.
Ally always has to think of her niece first. As her guardian she can’t parade men in and out of her life. So jumping into something with Miller isn’t something she takes lightly, plus she would hate to lose him as her friend. Perhaps she should just keep things professional where he’s concerned.
When their singing lights up the internet with #arethey or #aren’tthey comments, both Miller and Ally begin to wonder why they are just friends instead of friends with benefits.
After reading Once Upon a Sure Thing, I have to say The Heartbreakers is on top of my most loved series of 2018. Amazing banter, lovable characters, perfect side characters and a lot of children! What is there not to love? I tell you: nothing. In the first book we got to know a little about Miller and I was curious to know more. Know more about what he wanted to do with his life, what he was really like. Ally was a great surprise. I always love heroines that know what they want in life, what her priorities were and don’t let anything or anyone get in the middle of it. Her priority is Chloe and you could sense it from the beginning. Everything she did was with Chloe in mind. Miller was so much more from what we saw last book! He really is a happy guy, but he knows what he wants. It was a sexy read, but at the same time funny and with a lot of family time. I truly enjoyed it and can’t wait to read Miles book.
Turning friendship to romance is never easy. Especially when you mix in business. Still heartbroken over no longer playing and touring with his brothers, Miller Hart fills his days with endless fun and music. Trying to find the freeing feeling he had onstage isn’t easy. His older brother had the blessing of another onstage persona and his younger brother still tours. As the middle child, Miller is stuck on which way to lean. When I brilliant idea is suggested and he goes on the search for the perfect female voice to match his.
Ally’s been a duo with her brother for as long as she can remember, but now that he’s moving to a new city, her chance to break out on her own has never been more obvious. Voice acting and singing are her two passions, but she’s tired of being seen as the sweet and innocent young voice of the YA generation. When Her best friend Miller announces his plan to find his first ever steamy female counterpart, a plan formulates. But can two friends, filled with laughter and light, go to the dark side? Business with pleasure is never a good idea but what happens when the business IS pleasure?
Blakely has her signature wit and charming lines for our second Hart brother. I love a good friends to lovers romance but I had a hard time connecting to Miller for some reason. Don’t get me wrong, he’s cute and funny and all around a fun guy but the slow burn was a bit too slow for me after the flash bang heat from his older brother in book 1. Now Ally I really liked, she’s take charge in a refreshing way. She takes her own strengths and turns them in to her newest allies. Don’t let my disconnect fool you; Miller and Ally have undeniable chemistry obvious from the start. The will they or won’t they is addicting. But it’ll take more than just two friends to make this romance have it’s HEA with a surprise happy twist!
Lauren Blakely does it again! She delivers a funny, sexy, sizzling, swoon-worthy story in Book #2 in the Heartbreakers Series! We first meet Miller and Ally in Book #1.
Miller is the brother of Campbell. He is a former teen idol in a boy band called The Heartbreakers, with his brothers. They broke up a long time ago and after unsuccessfully trying to get his brothers to reunite and give it another go, Miller gave up that dream and has been trying to start up a new band. He decides, with advice from Campbell, to start a band with a female singer. He just needs to audition for his perfect singing partner. Miller is super sexy, caring, almost always happy, doesn’t take anything too seriously, has a great sense of humor (although sometimes inappropriate with his comments lol), and doesn’t do relationships. What happens when feelings take over and neither is sure they can deny them any longer?
Ally is sweet, smart, sexy, and talented. She is Miller’s best friend. Ally & Miller have been friends for 6 years now. They’ve been there for each other through thick and thin. She is raising her niece, Chloe. Ally used to sing duets on YouTube that garnered millions of views, and does audiobook narrations. Her and Miller have attempted karaoke and sung a few times at Christmas parties, but it didn’t work out. She has a church voice and he has a rocker’s voice. They clash. In spite of this, Ally decides to take a chance and send in an audition for Miller’s open audition. She wants to be a part of it. What ensues will have you hanging on to every word.
This was an addictive, funny, and charming read. The characters are real and relatable. The chemistry was explosive between Miller and Ally! The secondary characters were just as charming. The story had me hooked from start to finish and I hated for it to end. I highly recommend reading it. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite rom-com series!!!

Once Upon a Sure Thing by Lauren Blakely is book two in the Heartbreakers series. Focusing on Miller Hart and his best friend Ally Zimmerman.
In book one, Once Upon a Real Thing, Miller’s brother Campbell suggested Miller start a new duo but with a woman like Ally who has a great voice. Miller is reluctant especially because he doesn’t want to loose his friendship with Ally and the fact that they clashed singing-wise during karaoke and parties.
However, when Ally surprises him by secretly auditioning in disguise, Miller has a change of heart. Soon, Hot Stuff or #ZimmerHart is born. And then the story really kicks off and gets hot.
I really liked this best-friends to lovers novel. Filled with the characters from book one and continuing in this novel, we get to not only see the blooming romance of the main couple, Miller and Ally, but we also see the strong relationships of the Hart brothers and how they support each other.
Lauren Blakely always does a wonderful job of creating a romance filled with humor, heart, and endearing characters that you enjoy reading about. Once Upon a Sure Thing is no exception.
Overall, Once Upon a Sure Thing by Lauren Blakely is a must read and I happily recommend. I can’t wait to read Miles and Roxy’s story.
(I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)
Another amazingly sweet Rocker romance! This isn’t your normal, hard rocking, hard playing dirty rocker book. The brothers of Heartbreakers are a dream come true!
Miller is lonely. His brothers have moved on with his life, and his heart wants to hold on to what they’ve let go. Their band broke up years ago, and he just can’t seem to move past it. But his brother has an idea about how he can move his life to the next step. He has decided to form a new band, with a female singing partner. Too bad his best friend isn’t the one for the job. Ally has a full life. She is raising her niece, being the voice for audio books, but she still wants more. She thinks that the more she wants is to sing with Miller. Too bad he doesn’t think she has the voice for what he needs.
This book is full of surprises, laughs, and family. Miller and Ally are best friends, and then they are more. I love them together, and their connection is combustible! Add in an amazing, surprising ending, and this book becomes a gotta have it, must read for anyone!

I adore friends to lovers romance and this one was so cute! I love the natural chemistry Miller and Ally have. They have this effortlessness to their friendship and blend so well. I feel like them becoming more just felt right. I did like the build up to it and really love them singing together and how that went so smoothly for them. They were friends for so long and couldn’t even see what was right in front of them, but man when they found it, it ignited! I loved this sexy side of Miller that suddenly came out will Ally and I loved it, seems to run in this family! They make sense as friends, lovers and a family. Miller is already so involved with Chloe it isn’t much of leap for him to be there for her too. I absolutely loved the last few chapters and the fun surprises! Now I really can’t wait for Miles book!!
