I didn’t like the fact that the stories aligned so closely to some of our classic fairy tales. Made the story fairly predictable.
Even though the idea was good, I found it rather predictable and not believable.
This is a well written anthology that was gifted to me by one of the authors. All of the stories are a twist on an old fairy-tale. There are many interesting characters to be found inside. There were a few stories that really captured my attention. I loved The Glass Mountain by Alethea Kontis, Red by Sara Cannon, Mad About You by Jennifer Blackstream, The Sea King’s Daughter by Anthea Sharp, Soot and Stone by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson, and The Glass Sky by Alexia Purdy. The other stories are good as well, they just didn’t make me fall in love with them completely like the ones I mentioned did. If you enjoy fairy-tale remakes, there is no doubt you will find at least one you love inside this anthology, and quite probably a few authors to keep your eye on if you aren’t already.
