This holiday season, there’s more than gingerbread in the oven.
I was always a type-A kind of girl— and that’s exactly what got me into trouble with Sterling Ahren.
Having a baby before thirty didn’t work out, so I took some time off to sort out my life. Sterling’s my new landlord… and he doesn’t plan anything.
He’s a billionaire playboy who can’t stand the holidays. A recluse of the worst kind, … holidays. A recluse of the worst kind, Sterling makes Scrooge look like a generous soul… except Ebenezer was never this sexy.
He doesn’t want a family— until the night we have a spontaneous one-night stand, and forget to use condoms. I can’t have a baby with a disorganized, free spirit like him. Between my overprotective brothers and his crazy fans, I already know this isn’t going to work out.
Except Sterling isn’t willing to let me go. He wants me home for the holidays… and this is my last chance to make a Christmas miracle happen.
One thing I know for sure: when Sterling and I collide, it’s going to be anything but a silent night.
Funny, touching, and delightful, this smoking hot billionaire holiday rom-com by Claudia Burgoa will make you feel the magic of Christmas.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to be a romance reader! So many to choose from and binge. Here is the one you don’t want to miss.
Fans of Ms. Burgoa’s writing are going to love the fact we have the Spellmans and Aherns all in one book. But do you need to be a fan? Nope! Sterling and June’s story completely stands alone. Warning if you’ve not read the others, be prepared to add more to your TBR.
Sterling and June are the perfect enemies to lovers but not really maybe more friends to lovers story. They have chance meetings – both good and bad. That will have you giggle and fan yourself. Once they get out of the way of themselves, they try on the word of relationship – well sort of. You need to read to find that out.
Filled full of humor and fantastic characters you’ll love the connection to the families. It’s all the holiday romance you need in one full-length novel.
Download it today! You won’t be sorry!
Talk about bringing in the holiday early. This book, this book is everything I wish would happen to me with a few exceptions, LOL. Any way, Sterling is one amazing man. A man that learns how much love he has in his soul. A man that realizes there is more to life than just work, even if that life is filled with creativity. You will swoon hard after meeting Sterling.
Sometimes living with a plan is harder than you think. Why, you ask. Well because plans get change things come up and throw a wrench into your well organized expectations. This is exactly what happens to Juniper. Her plans to set her life on the right path gets interrupted by a one night that was supposed to be her one and only not planned deviation.
A romance that will melt your heart. A romance that brings the new meaning to romantic fantasies. This book is all that and more. A swoon and repeat read because Sterling won;t be denied your heart.
This is yet another AMAZING read from that truly romantic Claudia Burgoa.
She is Type A while he is Type Go With the Flow
Once Upon a Holiday brings together two families from two of Claudia’s previous series but it is a standalone. June Spearman is a 33 year old successful business owner and she is tired of waiting for Mr. Right. She is in town to visit family and to seek help in getting the one thing she wants but doesn’t have. Sterling Ahern is a 37 year old, very famous artist with crazed fans. He is married to his art and just wants to be left alone. The two meet around Thanksgiving and have one soul-shattering night together. When they run into each other again, sparks keep flying but failure to communicate keeps the reader guessing as to how one night can turn into an HEA. It will take a Christmas miracle.
This was a cute and quick holiday read to help you get into the Christmas spirit. It comes with the requisite holiday family drama and decorations. There is also steam to keep you warm during the snow storm. Of course, if you are like me – surrounded by warm dry air with no rain, snow, or end of the fires in sight, then you might need this to help you pretend that winter is right around the corner.
Wonderful holiday novella! A quick read to get you in the Holiday spirit. Juniper and Sterling have a hawt one-night stand with each of them knowing they’ll never see each other again…in fact, they don’t even exchange names. June comes to Denver for a few months through Christmas to work with a specialist for a medical condition. Sterling is a successful artist that’s become bitter with people in general and is now a bit of a recluse. Turns out Sterling is the landlord for a house June wants to rent for a few months while she’s in town which allows them to reconnect.
Once Upon a Holiday, is my first holiday read this season. This book is a whirlwind that starts of the holiday season, what’s not to love about this time of year. Throw in a sexy alpha and a sweet and sassy life planner makes for a fabulous rom-com. This is a really sweet and fun read, I loved June and Sterling, we have met both of them in previous books, but finally they get their HEA.
Holy crossover, Batman! This book combines the Aherns from the Chaotic Love series and the Spearman family that was first introduced in Maybe Later (also with a blink and you’ll miss it nod to Someday, Somehow). Though you don’t need to read any of the others to understand this book, I would suggest reading the Chaotic Love books to at least get a picture of the Ahern dynamics. That being said, I really loved this book! I’m not usually one for an insta-love type story, but this book was really great! June’s routine, type A personality crashes against Sterling’s artistic chaos and it paints a beautiful picture! It perfectly captures the uncertainty that comes with any new relationship and also throws in a few wrenches. Great read!
I have read several fantastic books by Ms. Burgoa that were released this year. All were fabulous. I haven’t read any books about either family that was in this story. I am now intrigued to read the rest of their stories. This wasn’t my most favorite book, but it was a nice quick read.
Juniper is the baby of the family. She is a twin and the youngest by only a couple of minutes. It shouldn’t matter that you’re the youngest by only a few minutes, but the baby of the family will always be the baby of the family. What does that mean? Everyone will forever think you can’t grow up and take care of yourself no matter how old you get. Juniper owns her own business, is extremely successful, is dealing with a medical condition, and is in control of her life. Yet her family freaks out when she doesn’t confide in them. She needs a break. She is going to take a month to herself and get her bearings. While using the restroom a handsome man comes out of the stall. She is ready to yell when she realizes she’s the one in the wrong bathroom. They have an instant attraction. They have a night together with promises of no names or numbers. However, Sterling cannot stay away. He does his research and discovers who Juniper is.
Their connection is undeniable, electric, combustible chemistry. Sterling’s heart begins to crack open. Juniper realizes she doesn’t want to do this on her own. She wants someone to lean on. They are two magnets that can’t help but be drawn to each other. They open their hearts and sacrifice their selfish wants to be with each other. It’s a new relationship with multiple obstacles, both hesitant to express their feelings to each other. I love the tug and pull that they have with each other. Juniper is a strong woman who doesn’t care about a person’s status, but their heart and mind. Sterling, has a bad self-image and feels unlovable. Together the Ahern’s and Spearman’s learn to heal each other’s wounds to bring two families together in a loving holiday read.
I was given a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
What a great holiday read. The author has given us wonderful characters that you can’t help but love, ok maybe you want to shake them a time or two, but for the most part the main and sub characters are all very endearing. As for the storyline- the author killed it, at least for me. It’s funny, sexy, romantic and had strong, independent male and female lead characters.
June is thirty three. She is a successful business owner with a wonderful loving family. However, her personal life isn’t what she thought it would be by this age. So she takes some time off work to sort her life out. What she doesn’t count on is Sterling. He’s a one night stand that was supposed to be one great memory. As for Sterling, he is a successful billionaire artist that lives life under the watch of his bodyguards due to stalking fans. He loves his life and has no desire for a relationship or family. Well that is until he meets June. Something about her makes him want to throw all his thoughts on how he lives his life out the window. Especially when he learns she’s pregnant.
I simply adored this holiday story. Even though June and Sterling definitely had their ups and downs and had terrible communication skills, outside the bedroom that is, this couple wormed their way into my heart making me laugh, smile and grin throughout. I highly recommend grabbing up this outstanding read and simply enjoying. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
I loved this delightful, opposites attract, rom-com! Sterling is a surly artist who is jaded and has closed himself off. June is driven, funny, and loves her family. Love has eluded her though. All she wants is someone to see past her personality, and to have a family of her own. From the moment Sterling see this witty, smart woman, he can’t stop thinking about her. She has unlocked something inside him that he thought was lost forever, and makes him want more in his life. I loved Sterling and June! To the world they were opposites, but underneath they both ached for acceptance and unconditional love. I loved how they helped each other see their worth and made each other whole. Altho this is a complete standalone, it was fun to catch up with their family members who I fell for in other books! This is a witty, touching, steamy holiday romance that will warm your heart and make you believe in magic!
While I have previously read a couple of books from this author, I didn’t read the two families whose books led to this interconnection. Once Upon a Holiday is a standalone novella. I did not have any trouble enjoying the book although I had no prior knowledge of their two families. I must add, though, that I am definitely intrigued enough to read those books.
June is an independent, successful business owner. She has a large, loving, but meddlesome family who she adores. Unfortunately, June feels lonely. There is no significant other. June doesn’t care as much about a relationship as she does, having a baby. I don’t want to give too much away regarding that aspect of the story.
That said, June flew into town to spend Thanksgiving with her brothers and the rest of the family. While there, in Colorado, June has a plan. And not even the most handsome man she has ever met will get in the way of that plan.
Too bad for June that Sterling does much more than get in the way. In the beginning of the book, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Sterling. He wasn’t friendly. In fact, he was bold and brash and rude. But there was something about him that I felt paved the way to his current lifestyle and behavior.
In the end, this was truly a beautiful story. Both Sterling and June learned to trust in love and each other. In addition, I believed their story. I felt it and the love they shared. The author did a great job at putting words to pages and giving me the insight I needed to enjoy this book!
This was an enjoyable read. Who doesn’t love a story that involves a Scrooge finding love and laughter?
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
If you are ready to be filled with the Christmas spirit that includes laughs, love, fun and very steamy sexy times, then Once Upon A Holiday is definitely the book for you!!
Sterling Ahern (from the Chaotic Love Duet) and June Spearman (from Maybe Later and Then He Happened) were secondary characters from those books and I was so excited that Ms. Burgoa brought these two together. June reached a point in her life where she knew what she wanted and was determined to get it. Sterling was a successful, brooding artist who kept to himself and had zero plans of settling down and becoming a family man. He also happened to be June’s new landlord and that’s were the fun began and the sparks flew. I loved their flirty and sexy relationship and their chemistry was wickedly HOT! June was full of sass and sweetness and Sterling was a naughty, naughty boy but oh so good at it. It was also nice to revisit the Ahern and Spearman families who provided touching, hysterical and entertaining moments.
Once Upon A Holiday was an absolute delight and truly warmed my heart. The epilogue was a pleasant surprise and sweet perfection.
Omg absolutely loved this book. Talk about finding what you need when you aren’t even looking. We meet June and Sterling in this story. Let me tell you their banter and chemistry is off The charts. Sterling self designated loner and bachelor for life gets knocked down by the forever planner June. Great story and awesome characters. Left me wanting more. 5 star read.
A holiday tale bringing families together.
This sweet and steamy novella brings two of Claudia Burgoa’s book families together. The Aherns and the Spearmans in a humorous, and life-changing holiday tale of insta-love. Even when you don’t believe in it.
Juniper Spearman had a plan. One she was sure was right for her. But, then along came Sterling Ahern who knocks her world side-ways. After one glorious night together, they part ways not expecting to ever meet again. But Fate, that worker of life ties has other ideas.
A sexy, hot artist and a straight-forward life-planning PR consultant make the best connections. A quick. Fun read for a quiet winter afternoon.
FIVE BEAUTIFUL STARS! Oh my Claudia outdid herself and I have to say this is my favorite story. Sterling and June take you on a rollercoaster of emotions through their journey. Two families coming together with the miracles of the holiday. Fate, love, magic and soul gripping feels. This is a must read and a standalone. Prepare yourself for some spectacular curveballs!
Better than a Hallmark movie! Once Upon A Holiday will have you falling in love this Christmas (or whenever you actually read it)! With an unforgettable meet cute and an irresistible chemistry, this one night stand may just be the best thing to ever happen.
Once Upon A Holiday is a sweet and feisty holiday season romance. This whirlwind starts just before Thanksgiving and gives us our Happily From Now On just in time for gifts being exchanged.
Now for the fangirling…
June is my sister from another mister. Her commentary on GPS is my lifelong pet peeve. I feel like there should be petitions! Just saying. Her organization to cover her epic screw ups was me but 3 kids later I can’t even pretend or stay organized any more! She makes me feel more at home with her own insecurities and honest self doubt. P.S. Claudia did not interview me for this character. Any likeness is brought on by my owning her flaws!
I think you will love Sterling and June as much as I do because they have a lot to share with you! Enjoy the intertwined characters from so many of Claudia’s other books popping in and being seen. I loved hearing from and seeing them again.
Claudia Burgoa where have you been hiding? How is it possible that this is my first read by you? I’m going to have to binge read through your books ASAP cause this book is a keeper. What a way to kick off the holiday season. Juniper (June) and Sterling hands down win the prize for the best meet cute ever. It’s love at first (meat) sight, when the two exchange words in the men’s washroom. And things can only get better from there.
June is a successful level headed business woman and the youngest of 5 children. At 33 she decides she wants to start a family on her own. She’s a woman on a mission and nothing will stand in her way.
Sterling is a sexy as sin, world famous artist and certified lady’s man. Fame and fortune comes at a price as he’s forced to live like a recluse with around the clock protection.
Unable to deny their attraction to one another, the two agree to a one night – no names or phone numbers, just hot and heavy (unplanned baby making) stand . What happens next is a delicious tale of two very imperfect people coming together for their perfect happily ever after.
Add this Christmas delight to your TBR list now, you won’t regret it.
Once Upon A Holiday will get you into the holiday spirit. The story was such a delightful, heartfelt, magical, and enjoyable read. It’s brought together two of my favorite families together in one book, The Spearman and The Ahern’s. The characters Sterling and June are opposite of eachother, but together their two sides of a puzzle. I liked them. So go and grab a hot beverage, a blanket, and curl up to read this holiday story.
Cute story about a girl, June, who’s tired of waiting for her life to settle, and decides to take it upon herself to make what she wants a reality. When she travels to Colorado, she meet a guy, Sterling, and has a one night stand with him, she has no idea how much he will change her life plan, in a big way!
I enjoyed these characters, quirky in their own way but perfect for each other! 5 stars for this holiday story, I think you will enjoy it!
Oh, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Magic and miracles always happen during the Holidays. Claudia Burgoa delivers us a feel good holiday read that is worthy of a Hallmark Channel Holiday Movie. With the Ahren’s and Spearman’s, this book is surely gonna bring a smile to your face. Juniper brings out the best in Sterling as he opens his heart to her. If you are looking for a sweet, holiday read then this is for you.
Once Upon A Holiday is a delightful holiday romantic comedy by Claudia Burgoa.
June is reliable. She plans everything and is always prepared. Sterling is a loner who never plans anything. They couldn’t be more different from personality to what they want out of life. But June and Sterling discover that sometimes the best relationship is with the person you least expect. And they come to realize that they have a lot in common despite their differences. Once they come together, they find that they fit perfectly. A heartwarming holiday read.
