I used to think that my life was boring. I resigned myself to the rut I was stuck in. Then my entire existence was turned upside down.
In the last six months, I’ve learned things that would get me committed to an asylum if I repeated them. First, I was kidnapped by vampires. Yes, vampires. Sounds crazy, right? My best friend, Donna, became one of the fanged after that little adventure and … adventure and hooked up with a hot, Scottish vampire named Conner. They’re even planning a wedding.
Secondly, I learned not all vampires are evil. In fact, some of them are downright sexy.
Alexander Dimitriades has it all. He’s tall, dark, and handsome and manages to give me tingles in all the right place and also make me laugh. Unfortunately, to be with him, I would have to give up my humanity and I like being human. Then, there’s the fact that the whole drinking blood thing gives me the heebie jeebies.
To make matters worse, there are plans in motion to change the place vampires hold in the human world. And I’m caught in the middle, between the vampire I’m falling in love with and a group that wants to create a vampire dictatorship, with humans as slaves.
Now, all I want is my calm, normal life back. As my friend, Ricki, likes to say, “Be careful what you wish for because it might come and bite you on the ass.” I hate it when she’s right.
*This work contains BDSM elements/themes, spanking, bondage, anal play, and a bossy, persistent Greek vampire.

Holy Moly! The degree of intensity went up several notches with Ivie and Lex’s story. There’s turmoil in the vampire world and Ivie gets pulled in again.
With Lex’s attraction to her and extreme desire to protect her, they end up spending more time together that feeds the flames of their growing desires. His sexy, Greek heritage and bedroom kink are definite pluses in my book.
3.5/5 stars for this audiobook.
I’m not sure if I would like this audiobook more if I had listened to the 1st book, and if there was a male narrator adding that bit of something I felt it needed. This is my first time listening to Ri Paige and I enjoyed her narration and think she did a good job but I think the audio would’ve benefited with a male counterpart.
As for the book, it’s got a ‘Twlight meets 50 shades’ vibe to it but I think it missed the mark on the bdsm aspect.
Ivy is Donna’s BFF and I believe this book probably picks up right after book 1. Ivy(and Donna) were kidnapped and tortured by a vampire which leaves Ivy a bit traumatized. She ends up moving in with Donna and Connor and Lex is immediately attracted to her.
There’s a lot of back and forth drama between them in the midst of more vampires looking to finish off Ivy.
I may go back to book one just to see if my opinion changes after listening to that one.
I do like how the author set up for book 2!
Great characters and story line
Love, love, love!!!
I have officially read this book 5 times in the last year alone! I fell in love with these characters when they were introduced by C.C. in Bite Me, the first book in the series. I felt a draw to Ivy right away as she had gone through this huge ordeal and braved her way through the aftermath. She’s the epitome of a Survivor! I have to give many kudos to C.C. for embracing Ivy’s reactions, feelings and battle. Because regardless if its a paranormal setting in my opinion, Ivy’s possible PTSD (in my totally uneducated, totally unsolicited diagnosis!) is very real and brings awareness.
Ivy may be timid but she has an inner strength that shows in her abilities! Lex helps to bring that out of her too and if it wasn’t for him and his presence she would not have made it through things as much. Oh and it totally helps that Lex has to be the hottest male character in the whole series! Good Lorttttttttttt I love that man! His Kink and overall prowess is just to freaking perfect for Ivy. he is old by vampire standards and where you would expect for him to be so old school, he’s really not. He has a deep rooted sincerity along with wisdom that adds to his already complex nature.
Their story and journey together is a very emotional, thrilling, sexy, scary, heart stopping and never with out a good twist!!!!! If you haven’t read any of the other books in the series yet, it’s a must! Seriously, this is my second favorite paranormal series of all time. C.C. has just a creative flare to her writing and allows her characters to speak, act and entertain all on there own with little effort and a whole lot of intrigue! C.C. my friend, you are a mastermind and phenomenal story teller!
