The Templetons have inherited a fortune but there’s a catch…Minerva Templeton has a reputation for being, well, something of a recluse.A wallflower, if you will. However, due to her grandfather’s demands, all that must change. She must travel to the wilds of Scotland to fetch a mysterious something. Minerva cannot fathom why she should be the one to have to bring home this object but if she … object but if she does not, their grandfather’s fortune will go to a most underserving man.
So off she sets to Scotland where she must brave all manner of awful things—things this wallflower avoids at all costs after a traumatic experience as a child.
But after the death of her beloved Grandpapa, she cannot help wondering if she should be brave. Bolder. Try new things.
Like meeting a handsome Scottish farmer turned wealthy landowner.
Like kissing him perhaps?
Like falling desperately in love with the brooding, wonderful man?
No, that’s a few too many new things. After all, there’s only so many new experiences a wallflower can have…

This was the sweetest story ever! Watching Min grow and overcome obstacles to become the strong young woman that her grandpa knew she could be was inspiring! The added bonus was the growing affection between her and the surly Lachlan while he escorted her on the last part of her mission! If you havent read any of these books you should they are wonderful!

A great series loved all 4 books- lots of great stories could even be written about the servants.
Another great addition to a great series
This is another brilliantly written story in a great Series. This steamy plot of strong characters continues to siblings quest to gain their inheritance.
First off, I love the covers of Samantha Holt’s books. They are filled with lush color and the promise of a great read. So far I haven’t been disappointed. Minerva, our heroine, had been kidnapped as a child and had lived in fear ever since. Timid and retiring, she shuns crowds. Naturally her grandfather’s will requires that she go on a journey in order to claim her inheritance. Fate brought her to the doorstep of Lachlan, a wealthy Scottish landowner, who agrees to accompany on her quest and guide her to her destination. Tender, yet strong, he helps Minerva find her courage and zest for life.
This was another cute historical romance featuring Minerva Templeton in her quest to complete the task their Grandfather set for her. It was obvious this time what the task was about but Minerva needed it so badly. After childhood trauma that was never dealt with likely due to time period and no one capable to help her, she willingly shut herself away. This trip to Scotland allowed her to step out of her comfort zone and find her courage. I liked her more than her sister Angel. She was wise beyond her years due to observing life rather than participating in it. So she saw beyond the surface when she met Lachlan who was sort of pretending to be a framer rather than a wealthy landowner that he was. I liked them as a couple as well as the fact that it was Minerva that went after Lachlan in the end. It was a nice change to see a woman go after the man she loved without sitting and waiting for the said man to make up his mind and propose. I liked this novella.
Just the absolute best story. Everything I like to read about and more. Such a great story I will read again and again. A keeper!!

Samantha Holt is one of my favorite authors. Our heroine, Minerva, has been set a task she must complete in order to inherit from her Grandfather. She sets out to do just that and encounters a Scottish farmer, a wealthy landowner, who helps her to complete the task as well as overcome her deep rooted fears that resulted from being kidnapped when a small child. Very entertaining.
I really had fun reading this 3rd book in the series. Minerva Templeton hasn’t socially for years – not since she was 8 yrs. old, kidnapped, help & threatened for 3 days if her father didn’t pay ransom amount. She was rescued but still is afraid to go new place, meet new people & still has occasional nightmares. Now, according to her Grandfather’s will, she & her siblings must succeed in a task set by him in order to receive their inheritance. They must succeed so they can give money to their brother, the Marquis of Eastbrook, to pay his wife’s gambling, even though she is now dead. Minerva’s task is to go to Scotland with her maid, groom & driver – get an unknown object from her Grandfather’s house. She makes it to Scotland – a feat in itself & then her maid become ill. With no villages anywhere close, she approaches a farmhouse & a handsome Scot answers the door & assists her on bringing her maid in & sends for a doctor who is a day away.
Lachlan Sinclair just happens to be at the farm on his property taking care of the animals for a few days while the farmer visited his daughter. Lachlan had been a farmer & still enjoyed working but he was now a large landowner in Scotland & besides being honorable, funny, kind & handsome he has become quite wealthy.
Lachlan & Minerva have a lot of adventures with Min getting braver all of the time. They were a fun couple & it was a very sweet story in which they both found their purpose & place in life & with each other. I highly recommend this book & the entire series.
This story is delightful as the first two books in this series. We find the reason why Minerva is always stuck in books, and why she can’t even manage going to a ball. This story is about overcoming fear and finding the courage to live life. Meeting Lachlan when her maid falls sick on the way to complete her grandfather’s task brings her into a new world of thought, and changing the way she lives her life.
Minerva’s grandfather sends her on a task to be brave and conquer her fears. Her family’s future and fortune rides on her traveling to Scotland to retrieve an item. She can’t even leave the county because she was kidnapped as a child and her grandfather knew her fear.
Lachlan is not of the nobility but he’s Scottish and when he meets Minerva he’s farming.
Can these two overcome their fears to become something stronger together.
So far, my favorite couple in this series.
Well done.

She is a wallflower and she wants to stay that way. Her grandfather dies and he has made a will which means she has to try new experiences. She is not happy but she does it as she loved him. What will she try? How will she get on? See how she gets on

The story begins at the reading of grandfather’s will and I loved how grandfather knew exactly what each grandchild needed to fulfill their lives. Minerva’s mission was to travel to Scotland and retrieve an item while there she meets Lachlan. Minerva and Lachlan’s story is a short, sweet, historical romance. This is a very good novella and I can’t wait to read more books by this author.
The third story in the Templeton inheritance series is about Minerva, the older sister. Min was kidnapped for ransom as a child and still suffers fear and nightmares. Her task is to travel to an old cottage in a rather isolated area in Scotland and retrieve something her Grandpapa writes is valuable. When her maid becomes ill during the trip, she and her companions find shelter with Lachlan Sinclair, a large gruff Scot whom she thinks is the farmer (he is, but a wealthy one just helping one of his tenants). Lachlan turns out to be quite congenial and helpful. He even agrees to go with Min to complete her journey so that her companions can continue to convalesce. Will they be able to finish the trip and find the valuable object before the deadline?
Once a Wallflower, Always a Wallflower is a wonderful addition to this series. It is well-written and perfectly paced story that presents Min with a big challenge filled with a little danger, a lot of humor, a wealth of new experiences (which is probably what Grandpapa had in mind), and romance. The characters in this one are perfect for each other. Min starts out anxious and frightened, but becomes more confident with each experience along the way. Lachlan was strong and kind, but had some uncertainties of his own. He is the man who got everything he ever wanted, but doesn’t know what to do with it. Maybe he just needs one more thing – Min, and maybe she needs him. I enjoyed this story, and I am enjoying the series. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Theo.
This is romantic, entertaining and enjoyable. It’s Minerva’s turn to complete her task, and fall in love. These siblings have to do what is written in the will in order to get their inheritance. Every task is different, all have to do with the person needing something to complete their lives. It’s a wonderful series and I highly recommend adding it to your TBR list.

A really fast yet highly entertaining read, filled with interesting charters, heart pounding action and exciting twist and turns…. was a great reading experience and loved this series from beginning to end. Extremely enjoyable journey!

Oh, how I love this series. Minerva and Lachlan’s romance is sweet and just plain wonderful. I loved how they got to know each other and helped each other grow. Lachlan was so tender to Minerva it was touching. Minerva is a great character. She found her inner voice and exposed her inner strength. Minerva helped Lachlan overcome his doubts of his worth. This is such a great story. I felt a little disappointed at the ending. I was hoping for Lachlan to meet Minerva’s family and ask for her hand. Maybe even read about their wedding and about how she would settle into his new home. It also would have been nice to perhaps jump a few years ahead to see them expand their family. Overall, I loved it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I must have been distracted as I was not aware of this release, one I wanted to read as I follow this series.
So here it is about Minerva’s task to fulfill her grandfather’s will.
I do not know if her grandfather was a kind of magician but each of his demands brings love in the life of his grandchildren. Minerva’s obligation was more about letting the past go than doing something. Since a traumatic event as a child, she buried herself in her London’s home, never leaving town and going out only when she felt it was safe.
So going all the way to Scotland is her grandfather’s way to free her from her fears.
Lachlan never expected, when he offered his help to take care of one of his tenant’s farm, to encounter an English lass, one so pretty he can’t comprehend she is still single and what is she doing there. And for being from the Gentry, she is no haughty person and she cares even for those under her station.
During the short time they get to know each other, they came to care for another and conquer their fears or griefs.
It was a sweet and enjoyable story of two peoples a bit lost among their world, needing each other to see what they missed really.
A 4.5 stars rate for this cute novella.
Book three in The Inheritance Clause series a well-written story that kept me turning pages. It is now Minerva Templeton ‘s turn to fulfill her terms of the will within the two months. She must travel to the wilds of Scotland to fetch a mysterious something her grandfather left behind in a cottage that he spent time in years ago. This is going to be quite the adventure for this wallflower who has fears of being around others since she was kidnapped as a child She meets Lachlan who has his own troubles together these two find a way to help each other. Reading how these two grow and are able to help each other made for a very good story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you have read the two prior books in this series you would know that the grandchildren grandfather has died and for them, to inherit they must complete a task set out by their grandfather with 2 months of the reading of the will. Minerva has to face her challenge with courage. It is possible her grandfather knew best because in Scotland she meets Lachlan. This was a sweet story of acceptance and love and I loved it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
