#1 bestselling author Ken Follett tells the inspiring true story of the Middle East hostage crisis that began in 1978, and of the unconventional means one American used to save his countrymen. . . . When two of his employees were held hostage in a heavily guarded prison fortress in Iran, one man took matters into his own hands: businessman H. Ross Perot. His team consisted of a group of … group of volunteers from the executive ranks of his corporation, handpicked and trained by a retired Green Beret officer. To free the imprisoned Americans, they would face incalculable odds on a mission that only true heroes would have dared. . . .

A rousing true tale told by a master storyteller. My only complaint is that there were so many characters running the mission that it was hard to keep track of them all, but for the purpose of following the story it didn’t really matter.
Very well written. Presented a true story in a very interesting way that almost made you feel you are there.
Too much hype of Ross Perot
Great story but very long with too many characters to keep up with. The characters were there to be sure but could have omitted somewhat ancillary ones or at least stop bringing them up so often.
Amazing True Story — great read!
Great
A solid story of an honorable mission. It put Ross Perot in a new, more favorable light and explained a bit about his persona as a political candidate.
An amazing true story that should be read by every American.
Told by Ken Follet (one of my favored authors) it is factual and truly a page turner.
Really enjoyed this book since I could relate to the time period.
True Follett. I’m a fan and he doesn’t disappoint.
Everything he writes is exceptional.
A very good read – in fact I have read several times over the years. Well written and suspenseful. Stories of brave men who did what was right in spite of the circumstances and lack of help from the American government.
I wrote a review last week! This is a WONDERFUL
TRUE story!
This book was not nearly as good as the rest of Ken Follett’s books
I’ve always enjoyed Ken Follet books and “Wings” didn’t disappoint.
Ken Follett based this story on real events. Unlawful imprisonment of 2 business executives in Iran. The owner of the business Ross Perot after multiple unsuccessful trials of legal channels to rescue his employees finally organizes a private rescue team. All his employees and his team gets out of Iran.
A well crafted true story that gives insight to our troubling times.
So so not that great a book
Well written. A piece of history that everyone should read.
Great writer and story
