Hunter Markham left home to travel the world for fame and glory, finding it as a top ranked professional surfer. Now he’s returned home to the sand and salty breeze of the North Carolina Outer Banks so he can open The Last Call, a beach bar nestled among the dunes of the Atlantic.Five years ago, Gabby Ward drunkenly threw herself at her best friend’s brother, only to have her young heart crushed. … heart crushed. Hunter is back but Gabby is content to stay far away from him and his dangerously charming ways.
Gabby’s well-schemed plans to ignore Hunter go up in flames when he presents her an offer she simply can’t refuse. Working together day in and day out proves problematic for two reasons—Gabby realizes her feelings for Hunter are still very much alive, while Hunter struggles to break through to Gabby’s cold heart. What starts out as a mutual business arrangement soon turns into a passion that neither can deny.
But when the pro surfing tour comes knocking and Hunter has a chance to reclaim his former glory, hard choices lie ahead for both of them.
Choices that could destroy what they have built or take them further than they could ever dare to hope in their second chance at romance.

Didn’t like it ending without solving a couple things just for sales on the next book. I’d have bought the next book… but not after the way this one ended; disgusted me. not a great plot.
Wonderful story with great characters! I can’t wait to read Brody’s story!
A bit wordy, but the heat is on between Gabby and Hunter even after five years apart. Love the idea that she is a woman general contractor trying to make it in a man’s world. Hunter is great, surf king and all!
Great book! Wasn’t expecting the ending g. Nice surprise!!
Good story of good characters but two many sex scenes for my taste. I did buy the 2nd book in series to find out about the crime that sent away
Very entertaining, lots of characters that are characters!
Interesting story and characters. Fun to read.
really enjoyed the book. kept my interest and really enjoyed it!
I love Sawyer Bennett’s books – this is just the latest in a long line of winners!
Contains EXPLICIT SEX. Sawyer Bennett developed interesting, solid characters in ‘On the Rocks.’ Gabby and Hunter have to learn to trust as they lose their hearts. This is a fun, quick read.
Too much sex
A nice easy romance, good character development, characters in unusual positive jobs, some angst, some sex, nice chemistry, not a rave maybe, but a good summer vacation read
A casual reading winner
Cute story
This was a sweet romance with a quite a few unique characters each with his or her own unique personality and feelings
It was great loved it. One of the best I’ve read.
I would never recommend this book. The language was terrible and completely unnecessary to the story. If this is an example of this authors other books, please take her off any books being offered to me.
A great best friends older brother story. Both Hunter and Gabby have secretly had feelings for each other for years. But five years ago he broke her heart. Since then their relationship has been strained. This is a heartwarming read.
Hunter grew up on an east coast island learning to surf. For the last five years, he’s moved up in the surfing ranks. At number two in ranking, he’s destined to be number one. Everyone is confused when he suddenly leaves the circuit and returns home to help his ex-con twin.
Gabby his sisters best friend has taken over her fathers construction business after his death. Not everyone is willing to hire a woman carpenter, even if she’s qualified and good at her job.
Life isn’t working as either of these young people planned. See what happens next when Hunter and Gabby rekindle their friendship and help their families.
Gaby has had a crush on her BFF’s older brother for years. On graduation night they share a kiss & Gaby is heartbroken when Hunter says it was a mistake. Ever since she can’t even stand to be in the same room as him. Hunter has made a name for himself on the surfing circuit & when circumstances bring him home, neither one can deny their attraction to the other. My first book of SB’s was from her cold fury series (which I love). Now don’t get me wrong, I liked this book but for me I thought it was missing the conflict. Even when you finally know something has to go down, it feels forced & very predictable. I definitely want to read the next book because I think Brody’s Story is going to be VERY interesting.
