AN AMAZON TOP 50 BESTSELLEROn the Rocks is a stand-alone, small town, country romance in the Becker Brothers Series. Noah Becker is nothing but trouble. That’s what Mama told me when I was a kid, kicking his pew in church and giggling at the games we’d play. It’s what the town said when his father died and the Becker brothers went wild. And it’s on repeat in my mind the day I walk into the whiskey … mind the day I walk into the whiskey distillery where he works to buy a wedding gift for my fiancé.
He’s trouble.
Dirty, sweaty, rude trouble.
No matter how many times I repeat it, I can’t escape Noah in our small Tennessee town. And the more I run into him, the more he infuriates me.
Because he sees what no one else does.
He sees me—the real me.
The me I’m not sure I’m allowed to be.
I’m Ruby Grace Barnett, the mayor’s daughter. Soon to be a politician’s wife, just like Mama and Daddy always wanted. Soon to fulfill my family’s legacy, just like I always knew I would.
Until the boy everyone warned me about makes me question everything, like whether the wedding I’m planning is one I even want.
Everyone says Noah Becker is nothing but trouble.
If only I had listened.

Holy book hangover! This book was everything!!! It was everything I’ve come to know and look forward to in a Kandi Steiner book, that slow burn. It had angst, steam and plenty of swoon moments…I laughed, I cried, it basically gave me all the feels! I highly recommend this book!
On the Rocks: A Small Town Romance (Becker Brothers Book 1) I like my whiskey neat or on the rocks. I’ve sampled a few good ones (or so I’ve been told) from Macallan and Glenlivet. I don’t know much about whiskey but I do know a thing or two about romance books. On the Rocks, by Kandi Steiner, was straight up smooth, sexy and served up right! OTR is the first book in Kandi’s new Becker Brothers series of standalone small town romances. Kandi packed the perfect amount of heartfelt southern heat and sweet into this book. On the Rocks left me with that same kind of warm hug in a glass feeling you get from drinking a fine whiskey. I’m excited to read the other Becker Brothers stories.
On the Rocks is another 5-star read from Kandi Steiner. It’s a beautifully written, forbidden romance featuring an older man who falls for a young woman who is not only nearly 10 years his junior but also belongs to another man. It’s a story of betrayal and heartbreak. It’s a story of family, character, freedom, and being true to yourself. You’ll fall in love with Noah and Ruby Grace and yearn for just one more chapter. What more could you ask for in a book?
When I want a story that will leave me wanting more I always turn to Kandi Steiner. Over the last 3 years or so she’s become one of my go to authors. Noah and Ruby Grace are the two love interest in this story. I tell you what Kandi did her magic and delivered a beautiful slow burn romance. Loved it so much. And I look forward to more Brothers in this series.
This book is everything, it is Kandi Steiner’s best work and officially my new favorite of hers. It was everything I expected and so much more. On the Rocks made me feel everything, I laughed, I swooned, I teared up and I never stopped rooting for them. I felt all the angst, love, heartbreak, passion, loss. I have never related more to a character than I have with Ruby Grace and Noah Becker is one of the most swoon worthy heroes. This book is full of romance, drama, secrets, laughter and Southerness. It was perfect. And now I’m dying for the second one
I absolutely loved Noah and Ruby! I love the feels I get while reading Kandi’s work. Lots of swoon and steamy scenes.
4.5 Chase Your Dreams Stars! I absolutely loved this story. The chemistry between Noah and Ruby Grace is sizzling hot! Add in a twist I didn’t see coming in this forbidden storyline makes for a fantastic read. I highly recommend this book!
It was a fun light read romance. Small-town romance always have a special place to me. For the love of Amber Whiskey.. Noah Becker and Ruby.
This love between small town drama played a great story. I loved the easy-ness and heartfelt between the couple.. The struggle between choosing whats right for you.
It’s my first Kandi book but it won’t be my last. What a perfect read to start off summer. Small town. Sexy. Romantic. I loved On the Rocks!
On the Rocks by Kandi Steiner gave me all the feels! I absolutely loved everything about this story from the character development to the storyline. This author delivers readers with captivating stories every single time and this story was no exception. She fills my heart full of hope and I found myself addicted to the words that are beautifully structured throughout.
My heart is still swooning hours after devouring this sweet and sexy contemporary romance that sure knew how to bring on the angst. Noah Becker and Ruby Grace Barnett’s forbidden love story wholeheartedly captivated my body, mind and soul – leaving me right on the edge of my seat in anticipation every single step of the way. These two share some deeply intense and angsty as f*ck moments that had me hook, line, and sinker. Their beautifully captivating chemistry bled from the pages and my heart knew that these two were destined to be together!
This story is a must read and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Growing up as a child with a parent in the political eye can be hard on anyone. For Ruby Barnett – living as the daughter of the mayor always placed a spotlight on every aspect of her life. Nothing in Ruby’s life has been played by chance. Each decision was a step towards living a life beside a husband that her parents deemed respectable and a suitable match for political ambitions.
All of the planning and prepping paid off, Ruby found herself leading the ‘perfect’ life even at the young age of 19. As the fiancé of a man who had political ambitions for the White House, Ruby knows that her support and devotion is crucial to making those dreams come true. Doubting her choice had never crossed Ruby’s mind until crossing paths with Noah Becker. As a familiar face from the past, Noah quickly shows Ruby how her dreams and ambitions shouldn’t be pushed to the side for anyone. How can Ruby find a balance between the life she should be leading and the one she so desperately wants to pursue.
On The Rocks is the latest novel by Kandi Steiner. While the book is most definitely a super hot romance, it also possesses the tendrils of a coming of age novel. Ruby definitely has her life mapped out with the help of her parents, but is that what she really desires? The handsome and rugged Noah Becker is the bad boy that opens Ruby’s eyes to the dreams that she kept hidden for the sake of others. When these two lost souls become a part of each others’ lives once more, they discover that having a friend through the difficult times can be the anchor that one so desperately needs.
As I have talked about on many occasions, every book that Kandi Steiner writes speaks to me in some way. The author has a way of weaving a spell that pulls me in with each chapter; leading me on a journey that is always unforgettable. On The Rocks is a wonderful romance that is full of banter between two characters that I absolutely loved!! Simply put…..I cannot get enough of the Beckers. I am keeping my finger crossed that Steiner decides to give us the details on each and every brother in the Becker household!!
On the Rocks is a sweet, sexy, angsty, swoon-worthy, small-town romance, and I absolutely LOVED it! From the amazing, charming, and unforgettable storyline, characters, and to Kandi Steiner’s beautiful prose, I adored every single moment of On the Rocks.
Noah and Ruby Grace were everything. Their connection was so powerful I felt it through the pages of this book. The chemistry these two share is undeniable and pure electric. One of the things I loved the most was how Noah will stop at nothing to make Ruby Grace realise that she doesn’t have to settle and fit a role her parents want for her. And down to Noah’s core he fought to make Ruby Grace’s dreams come true. And that right there epitomises everything Noah is. He will do absolutely anything and everything to make Ruby Grace happy and that the world is hers. She just had to take it.
As a Kandi Steiner virgin, I couldn’t have picked a better introduction to pop my cherry, so to speak. On the Rocks has all of the emotion and heart I’ve come to appreciate from a good romance. Combine that with a slowish burn heat and hot as hell explosion when these two come together and I’m a very happy lady.
When this book started with a dedication like this…
“To those who love whiskey and sunshine, long summer days and front porch sittin’, dips in the river and never taking life too seriously-this one’s for you.”
…I just knew I was gonna fall in love. And I did.
When Noah and Ruby Grace meet up again after she returns to town, they clash. He’s a barrel raiser at the local distillery and she’s the mayor’s daughter, who is about to embark on the life that she “was bred for,” which includes marrying the “right” man who has huge political aspirations.
“He was all down-home country, and I was refined country royalty.”
Things shift as they become unlikely friends. I loved watching these two learn about themselves (there was a lot to learn!) as well as each other as they grew closer. The supporting characters were so entertaining! I adored Betty Collins and her straight talk–there’s just something about an quirky senior in a small town romance that makes me smile.
“Anyone can lead an ordinary life, child,” she’d said to me one lazy afternoon. “But the best adventures are reserved for the ones brave enough to be extraordinary.”
Noah’s family was the best. When I learned that these four sons take turns dancing with their mother after dinner because it’s what their father used to do, I swooned big time. I so hope that we get stories for all of them. The writing kept me interested throughout the book–everything just flowed really nicely. I ended this book with a big happy sigh, wishing it wasn’t over.
“I didn’t realize how much a kiss could feel like a vacation. I didn’t realize how much a person could feel like home.”
This is only the second Kandi Steiner book that I have read, and I’m not sure why. I hear nothing but good things but just haven’t gotten around to reading them. After this, they are all being moved up on my list to read.
Highly recommend!

Oh these Becker Brothers are Smooth talkers and HOT AF
Noah damn hes is Smooth and will Sweep you off you feet and Out your Panties.
Ruby Is like a prized bull bred to be what everyone else wanted her to be not what she wanted.
When they cross paths they see more than just what they want people to see. The Pull between these two is sweet and Noah says all the right things. He loves his family they are all so sweet to their mom they all have a story you want to know them all…
“She wants to be held at night, and I want to be ridden like a rodeo bull”
“Go ahead and say it louder, princess,”I threw behind me. “You’d be in just as much shit as I would.”
“Look at you using big words again.”
“You look incredible I swear, I’m going to blink and have your mother as a best friend one day”
“Did he get all up in your space? Did he give you that sexy Becker smirk?”
“Anyone can lead an ordinary life, child,” she’d said to me one lazy afternoon. “”But the best adventures are reserved for the ones brave enough to be extraordinary.”
“Every experience is an opportunity, no matter how trivial it may seem. Some of my best ideas and most memorable achievements began from seemingly ordinary day.”
“And when you marry someone, you become a team. It’s not all about him and his dreams and his achievements. You are not a sidekick.”
“He was a lighting storm, fun to watch from afar but dangerous to dance with”
“He was a blade , and I knew I needed to stay away or I’d end up shredded.”
This small town romance was perfectly sweet and set my heart pitter-patting. When home-town boy Noah is struck by the beauty, poise, and kindness of Miss Ruby Grace Barnett, it is only a matter of time before he realizes she is the one. She is the girl he didn’t believe existed. She is the girl who will make the perfect wife, be the perfect dance partner, and be the perfect team mate. Now if only Ruby Grace can see it, too, before she walks down the aisle to be all those things for another man.
On The Rocks envelopes everything I believe small-town America is. The southern charm, the county parties, award-winning baking, Sunday dinners, all of it. On The Rocks is what I imagine small-town America to be and I was totally swept away. Kandi takes books to another level. She creates a family that the reader becomes part of. I always feel like I’m one of the gang when I read her books and I’m always ready to join the party; On The Rocks is no different. Four brothers raised by a single mom due to tragedy, town gossips, small-town hierarchy, long-time citizens who know everybody and every thing. All of these characters come together to make this story right.
Noah and Ruby Grace make the local tongues wag just standing still so every step or move they make is under the watchful eye of someone. Rumors fly, and true or not, they are the talk of the town. Kandi is well known for her resident strong female supporting characters and she has provided an amazing one this time in the form of a little old lady who is wise beyond her 80 years and who knows you don’t just sit around waiting for life to happen to you, you make it happen. She made me laugh and miss my own grandma.
I always watch for the ‘first time’ parts in a book, they remind me what it is like to fall in love. Noah and Ruby make us wait for bit but when it happens, boy it happens! We should all be so lucky.
Noah Becker has his job cut out for him if he is going to sway Miss Barnett his way. Some people are pulling for him, telling him to fight for his woman while others are giving him different advice and telling him to steer clear of another man’s woman. But, chemistry doesn’t lie and magnets attract.
Every part of this book gave me the Kandi feels. She writes romance so well and whether it is hot and steamy, angsty and emotional, or sweet with a slow burn, she does it right. On The Rocks had me rooting for the other man, with good reason. Noah Becker and Ruby Grace Barnett belong together and Kandi shows them how to do it right. Their HEA had tears in my eyes because, surprisingly, there is more to life than falling in love. Life is for living and Noah makes Ruby’s life a life worth living.
I really enjoyed Ruby Grace and Noah’s story. I loved the small town feel. I like when everyone knows everyone and all up in everyone’s business. Ruby Grace is only 19 and 6 weeks out from marrying her long time boyfriend who is an aspiring politician. She has been “groomed” to be the perfect politicians wife. No one has ever taken the time to get to know the real Ruby Grace. Noah is almost 10 years older then Ruby Grace. I loved how he was able to open Ruby’s eyes and saw the real her. I loved their connection and chemistry. This book wasn’t as angsty as I expected it to be.
I fell in love with Noah’s brothers and I can’t wait to read their stories.

It’s like Kandi completely gets me and what I love to read. I feel like she writes personally for me (*squeal*).
This is the type of book that is pure and simply good reading. I loved everything; the characters, the world, the love, the drama, it all simply works. You will fall quickly for the Becker brothers and if you’re are like me, look for a nice glass of whisky to enjoy while you fantasize of them and all of the girl drama that is to come. I can’t wait for more. (Review by Terri “Jane”)
