AN AMAZON TOP 50 BESTSELLEROn the Rocks is a stand-alone, small town, country romance in the Becker Brothers Series. Noah Becker is nothing but trouble. That’s what Mama told me when I was a kid, kicking his pew in church and giggling at the games we’d play. It’s what the town said when his father died and the Becker brothers went wild. And it’s on repeat in my mind the day I walk into the whiskey … mind the day I walk into the whiskey distillery where he works to buy a wedding gift for my fiancé.
He’s trouble.
Dirty, sweaty, rude trouble.
No matter how many times I repeat it, I can’t escape Noah in our small Tennessee town. And the more I run into him, the more he infuriates me.
Because he sees what no one else does.
He sees me—the real me.
The me I’m not sure I’m allowed to be.
I’m Ruby Grace Barnett, the mayor’s daughter. Soon to be a politician’s wife, just like Mama and Daddy always wanted. Soon to fulfill my family’s legacy, just like I always knew I would.
Until the boy everyone warned me about makes me question everything, like whether the wedding I’m planning is one I even want.
Everyone says Noah Becker is nothing but trouble.
If only I had listened.

This is a sweet and sexy small town country romance. I really enjoyed this book. It has a little bit of drama, angst, humor, sexy men, and steamy, sexy scenes. Noah Becker is sexy, swoony, sweet, and badass. Noah and his brothers are known to get into a little trouble now and then but they are good men. They are dedicated to their work and their mother. Ruby Grace is the mayor’s daughter. She’s young, strong, giving, and she thinks she has life figured out but the moment she meets Noah Becker, her world is turned upside down. Noah and Ruby Grace didn’t get along initially but that would soon change. Noah makes her question everything she thought she wanted. What happens when friends turns into wanting something more? I loved the interactions and chemistry between Ruby Grace and Noah. The side characters were just as wonderful. Miss Betty was my favorite but I loved them all! I highly recommend reading this book. It was entertaining from start to finish.

This story was everything! Southern charm. Strong family ties. Fantastic second characters. Drama. Expectations. Heartache. Sweet romantic moments. Show stoping ending. I absolutely loved this book!!!
I have such a weakness for small town romances. There’s something about them that makes me what to pack my bags and move. On the Rocks definitely gave me all those vibes.
There’s something about Kandi’s writing that just sucks you in. We get everything that defines she writing: emotion, angst and love. Kandi is the first author I think of when I recommend an angst book with all the feels.
In On The Rocks you will not be disappointed. Ruby Grace is young and raised to be, well a good little politicians wife. She just does as expected but of course she has her own aspirations that she knows have to die. Enter Noah Becker. Noah is suppose to be trouble. But he’s actually the only one in Ruby Grace’s life that is truthful. He opens her eyes to what she can truly be. His relationship with him brothers and mom is so loving and close knit.
Kandi has done it again with a book that will touch your heart. Even better, was the ending. It’s one that is a little unique in my eyes and it made me love the book even more.
5 Stars!!!
“I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I’ve got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You’ll never find
A love as true as mine” -George Strait
Those lyrics truly encompass the very core of this story. I didn’t know in the direction this story would go and I will say it wasn’t what I thought, but I was not at all surprised. And in actuality, it was the best way it could’ve gone. It was everything and perfect.
Small-town romances are some my favorites. I love the feel of the down-home goodness. How relatable the characters are and how you feel the connection like they’re some of your closest friends. The all around feeling of family you feel right down to your bones. And Kandi had me feeling all that and falling hard for the small-town of Stratford, Tennessee and it’s people.
“Anyone can lead an ordinary life but the best adventures are reserved for the ones brave enough to be extraordinary.”
Ruby Grace has come back to town to plan her wedding. Though she would never admit to anyone that it’s a wedding she’s not sure she even wants to have. She’s young and has dreams and aspirations, but now feels her role is to be a dutiful wife and be there for her future husband. So, she lets go of her dreams and what she wants, that is until Noah Becker enters her life. And Noah makes her question everything.
“You deserve to have the things you’ve dreamed about, Ruby Grace,” I said. “And when you marry someone, you become a team. It’s not all about him and his dreams and his achievements. You are not just a sidekick.”
Noah Becker, what can I say? I didn’t know my heart would be claimed so early on while reading a book, but Noah claimed it within seconds. He is everything a man should be. Kind, considerate, selfless, caring and loving. He’s a family man through and through and would do anything for the people he loves. And there was a reason why he crossed paths with Ruby Grace, because she would need him more than she’s ever needed anyone.
“No, you see me with your soul.” She swallowed, eyes flicking up to mine before they fell back to my mouth. “And I feel you with mine.”
Noah and Ruby Grace were everything. Their connection was so powerful and was felt through the pages of this book. The chemistry between these two is undeniable and electric. It’s no surprise that the flames they create burn scorching hot. One of the things I loved the most was how Noah will stop at nothing to make Ruby Grace realize that she doesn’t have to settle and fit a role her parents want for her. And down to Noah’s core he fought to make Ruby Grace’s dreams come true. And that right there epitomizes who Noah is. He will do anything and everything to make Ruby Grace happy and that the world is hers, she just has to take it.
“I didn’t realize how much a kiss could feel like a vacation. I didn’t realize how much a person could feel like home.”
On the Rocks brought the emotions as well as the laughs. A small-town romance filled with swoony moments and witty banter. With characters I couldn’t get enough of. And the Becker boys I desperately wanted more of. The perfect start to a series that is already addicting and intoxicating. I can’t wait to return to the picturesque town of Stratford, Tennessee.
Definitely recommend!
I was captivated by this story. Kandi Steiner just has a way with words, that makes you laugh, cuss and even cheer out loud for her characters.
Ruby did a lot of rediscovering herself in this book, she was able to take charge and find love through the journey. Ruby did have some attitude, however I think that was more to do with her age (19) and also the fears she experienced.
Noah (28) was more of the perfect guy. This is even if he is known as the “bad boy”. He has taken on more responsibilities after his fathers tragic death and is helping his mother and three brothers. He is more than what the eye sees.
All the other characters really added more dimension to the story.
I am looking forward to more of Kandi Steiner’s books in the future.
Noah Becker. The town’s bad boy, he along with 2 of his brothers work at Scooter Whiskey Distillery. The distillery has been a part of their lives for as long as they can remember. When Ruby Grace Barnett comes in to buy her fiancé a single barrel of whiskey she runs into Noah again. They haven’t seen each other in a while, but Ruby Grace sure has grown up from the little girl who used to kick the back of Noah’s pew in church. Something about Ruby Grace draws Noah in from the first time he listened to her sass at the distillery, and he knows she is engaged but he just can’t seem to stay away from her, nor can she stay away from him. As the summer rolls on and Ruby Grace and Noah spend more time together, they can both feel the spark between them. As Ruby Grace’s wedding draws nearer, and secrets are revealed she has to ask herself, is she ready to say goodbye to Noah Becker, or will she finally do something for herself?
Every book I read by Kandi Steiner evokes so much emotion from me. Her books take you on such a journey, and I can’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what is going to happen next. I want to take my time reading her books, but I also want to read them so quickly because I need to know how things are going to turn out. Noah Becker is the hero all the girls are going to want! He is a little rough around the edges but the man has a heart of gold. This book kept me guessing from the beginning until the end. I’m so excited that this is just the beginning for the Becker brothers!!
Small town romance at its finest! Loved Ruby Grace and Noah’s story. It pulls at your heartstrings. Ruby grace has come home to plan her wedding- she’s 19 and sweet and southern- doing what she thinks she wants and making everyone happy around her.
Noah is older- loves his small town and his job. When he meets Ruby Grace- there’s a connection. He sees her for who is really is not what everyone wants her to be. They become friends. Noah supports Ruby Grace but really challenges her.
This book is about seeing the other people in our lives and making them happy- really happy for themselves and not everyone else. Noah is such a great selfless character and guy! I loved seeing Ruby Grace through his eyes and how he was truly there for her.
This book gave all the feels and I couldn’t put it down- amazing job Kandi Steiner!
I don’t know how she does it, but Kandi Steiner delivered with On The Rocks another enchanting story that will blow your mind. It’s heartbreaking and magical, it’ll touch your heart and soul with characters that steal your breath away.
I first discovered Kandi Steiner when What He Doesn’t Know was released. That book, though it tore my heart out, immediately put this author on my auto-buy list. Her characters and the worlds they live in are full of angst and heat and beautiful, beautiful writing. On the Rocks is no different and it definitely delivered.
Ruby Grace Barnett and Noah Becker present a delicious love story to Steiner’s readers. From the beginning of page one we’re thrown into small-town life. Ruby Grace, though I’ll be honest here, I could not get myself to warm up to that name, is the prime example of small-town country royalty. She’s the mayor’s daughter and she is held up to a higher standard than those around her, expected to act and talk and walk a certain way in order to impress the eyes on her family.
Noah Becker is a country boy, through and through. He’s a barrel raiser at Scooter Whiskey, the brand that put the town of Stratford on the map, and is known as a womanizer, a trouble-maker. But there’s more to Noah than the town he’s calls home knows about and Ruby Grace finds solace in his company, finding herself falling harder and harder for him the longer than she’s in town.
The biggest issue between these two is that Ruby Grace is actually engaged to be married. To a politician of all people. She’s stepping into the role that she was quite literally “bred” to be in and is overwhelmed and taken over by her family’s expectations and the planning that comes with such a high profile wedding. In these moments are when Noah’s character truly shows his colors and makes himself easy to fall in love with. I, for one, could not get enough of Noah Becker and, though I have yet to read most of her backlist, is my favorite Steiner leading male so far. He is so easy to fall for.
I couldn’t get enough of this book and I honestly wanted to dive right back in to the first page. It was that good. From what I understand, the notes in the back of the ebook lead the reader to believe that there will be more Becker brother books. If this is the case, then I am insanely excited to read them!
Kandi writes anything beautifully, but her small town country romance is super hot!
3 1/2 star
I struggled to get into the book for the first 25%. I didn’t like that Ruby Grace was just letting life happen to her. I was with Noah why the heck are you basically giving up on all your dreams to be a wife. I did like the Noah pushed Ruby Grace to want more and expect more from her life.
I loved the Becker family and how tight knit they are, I want to see the brothers get their own books in the future.

Once again, Kandi Steiner gives us a sweet and sassy romance with just the right amount of angst. While there were some parts that I was cringing at, I completely get where Ruby Grace was coming from and why she went with her actions the way she did. Noah is just swoon worthy who will make you melt. That sizzle between these two was evident right from the moment they first meet. How he bends for her and would do anything for her even if it meant watching her marry another man.
The one thing I really enjoy about this story is the development of the characters. How they grow out of the stigmas that were thrown on them. Especially Ruby Grace, she may be young but she has grit. How she challenges her fiance to the way she goes toe to toe with Noah. I love how Noah also encourages Ruby Grace. How he wants to love her but never hold her back. It really melts your heart! I absolutely adore this book and Steiner’s flare in her stories. This is a must pick up! Looking forward to more from these hell raisers of brothers!
Kandi Steiner has brought us another amazing love story. Noah Becker was completely annoyed with Ms Ruby Grace and her pretentious attitude, but once she let that facade down and showed her the self Noah was smitten. These two just couldn’t keep away from each other and Noah made sure he did whatever it took to be in Ruby Grace’s life. This book is full of love and heart break and forever. I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to read the other Becker boys’ stories.
5 ON THE ROCKS STARS!! Holy Smokes…..another fantastic book by Kandi Steiner. I was sucked into this story of Noah and Ruby Grace from the first page. Their story touched my heart and hit all my emotion buttons. Looking for a book to read in one sitting, here you go.
Kandi has a way of writing a story that just sucks you right into the world and the lives of the characters she creates. One moment you’re laugh-snorting and the next you’re reaching for your tissues. An absolute must read!
Ruby Grace is young and loyal but she doesn’t know what is missing in her life until she returns to home. She thinks she’s found the man that’s the love of her life. She thinks she’s found a man that is everything she’s ever wanted until she meets heartbreaking, troublemaker Noah Becker.
Noah and Ruby Grace are great together. There’s something between them from the moment they see each other. They are perfect for each other. I love the things he says to Ruby Grace and what he’s willing to do for her.
I loved this book. I loved Betty who is in a home and I love the advice she gives Ruby Grace. Betty loves Ruby Grace and gives her better advice than her mother does. I love her friend Annie
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one.
Small town love never felt so good. Noah and Ruby made my romantic heart sing. This was a story that was so easy to lose myself in.
Noah was everything I imagined a charming southern troublemaking man to be. He’s a fun loving heartbreaker who loves his family above all else. Ruby Grace is adorable, she’s the good girl who has a hankering for the bad boy and adventure.
I loved the gentle flow of the story and the slow build of the romance. Another beautiful story that’s left me wanting not just more of Ruby and Noah but his brothers too.
Angst
Loveable family
Southern charm in spades
A shot that is as spicy as it is smooth.
All the makings of a best selling Kandi Steiner novel!! Oh gosh this book certainly had ALL THE FEELS!! It was sweet, sassy, heartwarming, angsty and beautiful! It had a nice slow burn throughout and being a small town romance just made it even better! These two characters were just fabulous! I love the intense and emotional feelings I get while reading this author and this book did not disappoint! I absolutely loved it!!
I enjoyed ‘On the Rocks’ enough and had pretty high hopes for it since the story also had a tinge of forbidden wrapped in a pretty bow. Even though I did love Noah (for sure) and Ruby (sometimes), I felt like the story was extremely predictable at times, as well as the pace for half the book was slow. I understand there’s build-up, but it dragged on at times.
I do want to point out that I definitely enjoy reading Kandi Steiner’s books and 100% will continue to enjoy them -the woman can write, believe me-however this one fell flat for me. I adore Kandi as a person and as an author; that will not change regardless of how I feel about one of her books.
