AN AMAZON TOP 50 BESTSELLEROn the Rocks is a stand-alone, small town, country romance in the Becker Brothers Series. Noah Becker is nothing but trouble. That’s what Mama told me when I was a kid, kicking his pew in church and giggling at the games we’d play. It’s what the town said when his father died and the Becker brothers went wild. And it’s on repeat in my mind the day I walk into the whiskey … mind the day I walk into the whiskey distillery where he works to buy a wedding gift for my fiancé.
He’s trouble.
Dirty, sweaty, rude trouble.
No matter how many times I repeat it, I can’t escape Noah in our small Tennessee town. And the more I run into him, the more he infuriates me.
Because he sees what no one else does.
He sees me—the real me.
The me I’m not sure I’m allowed to be.
I’m Ruby Grace Barnett, the mayor’s daughter. Soon to be a politician’s wife, just like Mama and Daddy always wanted. Soon to fulfill my family’s legacy, just like I always knew I would.
Until the boy everyone warned me about makes me question everything, like whether the wedding I’m planning is one I even want.
Everyone says Noah Becker is nothing but trouble.
If only I had listened.

This was a good read. This was a first for me from this author, and I was happy to find a new author that could grab my attention from the start. I liked Noah and Ruby Grace together, but it was hard to get over how much of a doormat she let herself be sometimes. I didn’t really like their relationship at first, because even though they didn’t cross the line, she was still someone’s fiancé. I wouldn’t want my fiancé having that kind of relationship with another woman. That was what knocked this story down a star for me. Noah was a great guy. He loved his family, and was loyal to those he loved. Ruby Grace was immature, but she got better as the story went on. My biggest eye roll came from Ruby Grace throwing herself under the bus. While I understand family loyalty, and would do just about anything to help my family, selling my happiness to fix THEIR mistakes is not something I’m willing to do. I found it absurd that “family” would even ask that of her. The ending was more a HFN instead of HEA, but I’m hoping to get more on Noah and Ruby Grace in the other brother’s stories.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
5 out of 5 stars
WOW! Holy cow! Whoa! ← I could go on with the exclamations for days after finishing this story! Noah and Ruby Grace broke my heart and pieced it back together several times while reading this story.
If there is one thing that this author can do and do it well, it’s angst. There was so much of that from the very beginning, but it’s always worth it because in the end, you get exactly what you hope to get out of the book!!!
Noah and Ruby Grace have no business being acquaintances, much less friends, but they find something in each other that they didn’t expect and they can’t let it go. Some of my favorite scenes in the story happen at Noah’s mom’s house. The family dynamic is so perfectly played that I can’t wait for more in this series!
And then there’s the whole fact that Ruby Grace dreams of being in AmeriCorps and I spent three years in AmeriCorps and I loved her all the more for her drive to do for others. And let’s not forget Betty at the nursing home; that woman was a hoot!! Just another swoony romance hero who gives his all and gets all my heart!

Kandi Steiner’s writing is superb. It ALWAYS is so it’s no surprise that On the Rocks lives up to that standard. The author paints the perfect picture of a small town. Where everyone knows everyone and all their business. It’s that southern small town where the gossip is as strong as their alcohol.
Noah and Ruby Grace are the real deal from the first time they meet until the very last paragraph. I loved, loved this book! On the Rocks has got the flirt we all love, some good laughs, the perfect amount of angst and it goes down like smooth Tennessee whisky.
This is a must read!!
‘On The Rocks’ is the new book by Kandi Steiner, and like all of Steiner’s books, it didn’t take long for me to become obsessed with Noah Becker and Ruby Grace Barnett.
I absolutely freaking loved that the book was set around a whiskey distillery. It was unique, intriguing and put a different spin on a romance book for me.
The book is about Ruby, a young girl who is betrothed to the next political representative Antony. Her mind says he’s everything she should want, after all, he’s successful, handsome and charming. But deep down, Ruby finds herself feeling unsettled, the prospect of her travelling and pursuing her dreams on the back burner to be the ‘woman behind the man’.
She feels the Marriage is what is expected of her, that she should have no reason not to go through with it and live ‘happily ever after’, however one whiskey tasting with Noah and Ruby feels her head start to spin.
Noah is an interesting character, he is older than Ruby and more settled and comfortable in himself. He is a barrel raiser at the distillery that has been a part of his family’s heritage, despite the uncomfortable feeling of foul play surrounding his fathers death.
At the heart of Noah you learn he is a family man, traditional, but not enough in the sense to not see a future wife as an equal. He is perceived to be a womaniser, when at the centre of his dreams is to find a life partner he can truly settle with.
Intrigued by Ruby he attempts to delve into her reasonings behind her marriage, sensing that she may be heading into a journey that is not in her best interest, and unfortunately the more time he spends with her, the more he struggles to hold back his opinions and feelings.
I loved this book for so many reasons, the romance is sweet and believable, it is unique and all characters are personable. It is incredibly well written with a million book quotes I could have cited, and I loved Noah for wanting to be the man who makes Ruby the world.
This is the best kind of romance and I’d recommend to all book lovers. You will not be disappointed. Amazing ending and just utterly swoon worthy.
On The Rocks by Kandi Steiner was a sweet, emotional and angst filled small town romance. This is just the kind of book that makes me cry, laugh, swoon and sigh!
Ruby Grace, the mayor’s daughter is the perfect innocent and nice girl outside. But in her heart, she is a happy, non judgemental, carefree person who wants to help and change the world. She is all set to marry aspiring politician and her boyfriend Anthony but is she happy? While being surrounded by doubt, she meets Noah Becker, town’s best barrel raiser, bad boy, trouble maker and in one word exactly opposite of someone she should be with. But he makes her feel cherished, loved and free. What will she do?
I love small town romances. And Kandi Steiner wrote a great one! The town with it’s legendary Scooter whiskey , the people, the atmosphere and every little details were brought to life with precision and flamboyant colour. I am so in love with Noah. There is something so attractive and enticing about a man who is confident but not arrogant, protective but not smothering, possessive but supportive of his partner’s dream. And Ruby Grace is an amazing woman. I was amazed by her strength to finally stand up for her dreams even after being blocked from each direction. And their chemistry was so beautiful and mindblowing amazing! It was dreamy, explosive, all consuming and heart breaking.
On The Rocks by Kandi Steiner was a passionate, heartwarming and swoonworthy romance. I loved the inspiring writing and captivating storyline so much!

AMAZE BALLS!! AMAZING!! This is a small town slow burn whiskey romance. There are so many emotions- heartbreak, laugh, cry. Love the characters! Love everything! Keeps you wanting more and more!
“Whiskey is a man’s drink?” I shook my head. “It’s whiskey. It’s expensive whiskey, at that. And I assure you, it’s delicious — whether you have tits or not.”
Meet Noah Becker (your new book boyfriend). A tall drink of handsome with the right upbringing and basically everything else. Insert the beautiful and very engaged Ruby Grace. Now…..sit back, relax and let this book consume you!
Kandi is like a spell caster with words and I’m sure you’ll get lost in Tennessee and the romantic story she weaves with every page. This book will put a mark on your heart and you’ll carry it with you long after the last page. I am eagerly waiting to hear more from the Becker boys!
On The Rocks by Kandi Steiner is the first in a NEW four brother series. Each book will be standalone but each of the Becker brothers will get his own book. I have to tell you…I will be in waiting impatiently for the next book to come out! Grab your Tennessee sipping whiskey and let’s chat about On The Rocks by Kandi Steiner (seriously, grab your whiskey but don’t shoot it…sip it).
Noah Becker is the man that your mother warned you about. He is a whiskey sipping, barrel raising, cocky, notorious trouble-making, hot as sin, player of a man. According to his mother, Noah was handsome enough to make a church choir stutter in unison. Oh my! The last time that Noah saw Ruby Grace Barnett was when she was a freckle-faced kid who used the kick the back of his pew in church. They were 10 years apart in age and played some game in the church that always ended up with Ruby Grace giggling and getting in trouble with her mother. Ruby Grace is only nineteen but based on the sadness in her eyes, she had lost her innocence a long time ago. Ruby Grace wanted the world to see her as a dignified lady but in reality, she was still a nineteen-year-old girl who doesn’t have it it all figured out yet. Is it possible that Noah Becker was the only person who saw Ruby Grace for who she really was?
Ruby Grace is getting married in six weeks to a man who will likely become the President in a few years. Anthony is the type of man that Ruby Grace was groomed for but something feels wrong. She has dreams of finishing college at UNC and working with AmeriCorps but all of that will vanish the moment that she says “I do”. Ruby Grace the dreamer will no longer exist. She will by Ruby Grace the politician’s dutiful wife spending her days hosting luncheons for other political wives and working with charities that will benefit Anthony’s political campaign. Ruby Grace loves Anthony but the words of one of her favorite people, Ms. Betty, keep coming back to her “Anyone can lead an ordinary life but the best adventures are reserved for the ones brave enough to be extraordinary.” Is Ruby Grace destined to be ordinary?
Kandi Steiner has written an extraordinary book! Don’t worry, no spoiler alert is needed! I laughed, cried, and even slammed my book and threw it across the room. (Well, I wanted to but in reality, I exited the APP and put my e-reader on the bed. The other sounded much more dramatic.) I am in LOVE with Noah Becker and excited to hear that his sexy brothers will also get getting their own books. On The Rocky by Kandi Steiner get 5 out of 5 propellers!!
This was a pretty good read! I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
Based on the summary and the first couple chapters, this sounded really similar to something I read less than a month ago that I absolutely adored, so I was nervous I’d feel déjà vu. I ended up enjoying this a lot, but I guess I was expecting more romance, even with her being engaged. I swear all I’ve been reading lately are slow burns, and while I like them, I want a book where things (feelings, physical contact, etc.) happen faster for both characters. But regardless, I thought the fact that they had a flourishing friendship first was a nice touch!
I wasn’t sure about Noah at the very beginning, but he quickly won me over. I’d love a man who wasn’t afraid to lay it all on the line, and put his heart out there for the woman he loved. I liked Ruby Grace, although there were moments when she drove me nuts. I won’t say how, or why, but just know she wasn’t my favorite female character written by this author. Betty was super fun to read about, and I could picture her in my mind. I absolutely loved Noah’s family. They stole the show, and I’m beyond excited for the rest of The Becker Brothers series. The title, and which brother will be in the next book, was revealed after the epilogue; I also saw foreshadowing of who I think the heroine will be.
This was an age gap romance, and had some angsty moments. The banter, the nursing home scenes, etc. were all great. I would have loved a second epilogue set further into the future, but I’m sure we’ll see more of this couple in the upcoming books. If you’re looking for something that will hit all the sweet, yet tangy, notes, then pick this up. It has just enough kick to put you in your feels while you swoon at the same time.
I’ll toast to Kandi and this amazing story. If you need a swoony, sweet, country boy, Noah Becker May just be your guy. Hard to imagine how Ruby Grace resisted for so long. The chemistry was so strong but family bonds are also strong. Loved these two so much. I felt every word down to my soul.
As soon as I updated this to “currently reading” I sat down to dive into Noah and Ruby Grace’s story and now, mere HOURS later I am done and my heart is so happy! I have to say this is one of my favorites from Kandi!
On The Rocks is superbly written, skillfully crafted and 100% addictive! Kandi’s characters automatically draw you in and after the last page they still don’t let you go.
Noah and Ruby’s story isn’t picture perfect, it isn’t easy and it’s definitely not simple but I was mesmerized from their first interaction because of their chemistry and their banter.
Ruby, the mayor’s daughter and constant good girl and Noah…..the town’s heart throb with “trouble” as his middle name. I couldn’t get enough of them, I couldn’t read fast enough….. and man…..the twist and turns, the intense emotions, the passion and the moments that had me gasping. I was utterly consumed!
I an literally salivating for more of the Becker men because Noah *happy dance* has 3 brothers and I swear each one is just as delicious and I NEED their stories, like now!!!!
When Kandi Steiner releases a book, I drop everything because I know that it is going to be a great read.
On the Rocks is a small-town romance with Noah Becker and Ruby Grace Barnett in the starring roles. Along with an outstanding cast of secondary characters to round it out. My emotions reading this story were all over the place from teary one minute to laughing the next and I loved every minute of it from start to finish!
Do yourself a favor a pick this up so you’ll be ready for the next book. It sounds like we will be getting a book for each of the Becker brothers.
On the Rocks by Kandi Steiner was phenomenal. Hands down the best book of the year. This was a great summer read. A small town love story and a book about finding yourself. It exceeded all my expectations!!
“That one apology, that awareness of herself, it was genuine and true. It was the young girl she actually was, slipping through the facade she’d painted so well.”
TWO WORDS: SUCKED IN.
Well, QUEEN Kandi did it again. And when I say did it again, I mean did it again PLUS SO MUCH MORE. This book was everything I needed it to be. I was sucked in from chapter 1. Noah’s perception of Ruby Grace had me from the beginning. He saw her immediately.
From the beginning you knew Ruby Grace was destined for a hell of a lot more than what met the eye. I loved so much about the scene where Noah gets to see pieces of her during the whiskey tasting. There is humor, energy, heat, and everything in between.
Noah, dear lord where in the world do these types of men exist? Ones that want it all. Rough around the edges, hard working, dirt under their finger nails men, who still want to come home at night and have the kind of love their parents had. Definitely had tears in my eyes when he describes seeing his mom dancing with Logan to “Wonderful Tonight.” His roots are deep, and it shows.
I can’t lie. I had high expectations from this book from the minute the blurb was released. I needed it to resonate with me in ways I was unsure it could. I sort of set myself up for book failure in a way. I have read similar themes before, but I just knew that if anyone could make me FEEL more about a book, it would be Kandi. And I was not wrong.
This book is not to be missed. It is enthralling, emotional, and will connect with you in ways you wont expect it to. You will get goosies, probably some tears, and you will 100% wish you had some whiskey for the ride. Either way, the book hangover will be real, and you will be left BEGGING for more of the Becker boys. Spoiler alert, there will be more to come with these men.
Amazing work Kandi. Literally, this one is EVERYTHING. (Insert Fire emojis because its my favorite emoji to describe your books)
Oh my! Noah is such a sweetheart!! Can he be my sweetheart?! He is so selfless and I love that quality in him. He was just what Ruby Grace needed.
I really liked Ruby Grace and the innocence about her, but then she could be tough when she needed to be!
On the Rocks is a beautiful story that I never wanted to put down. I loved the strong family connection they each had, particularly Noah’s family.
And Betty, how I loved her so!! I hope she features in the rest of the books!
I can’t wait until Logan’s story and I’m secretly hoping that the Becker’s find the closure they need.
Ruby Grace is about to get married and her upcoming marriage is what is expected of her. She thinks she is happy, but then she runs into Noah Becker. He is everything that she needs to stay away from, but she quickly finds that he is everything she never knew she wanted.
Noah knows that staying away from Ruby Grace is the right thing to do, but he sees the real her. The person that no one else does. A young woman who has hopes and dreams. And he hopes to be the man who helps her realize them.
I really enjoyed this story. I love a good forbidden romance story line and this was a great one. There was also an nice age gap, between Noah and Ruby Grace, which kind of upped the forbidden trope a notch or two.
Noah and Ruby Grace had great chemistry and them being together was much more believable than the man she was supposed to marry. She was able to be herself when she was with Noah and I absolutely adored her in those instances. And don’t even get my started on how sweet Noah was. Holy book boyfriend material Batman! These two together were just perfect.
Also, thank you Kandi for having Americorps as part of the story. As a two time alum, it’s nice to see Americorps being talked about in the romance world!
This is my first time reading Kandi Steiner and I am hooked.
I totally enjoyed this book.
The title & blurb had me interested in reading this and I ams so glad I did.
First, love that it is in dual point of views for main characters Ruby & Noah. I need to know what each character is thinking and Author Kandi Steiner delivered it.
I read this book in one sitting. The words written flowed easily off the pages.
It gave me all the feels. This story is full of intensity, romance, swoon factor and a happily ever after that left me completely satisfied.
SO glad I read this author and I look forward to reading more of her books!

I absolutely LOVED this book. Kandi Steiner once again proves that she can make you laugh, cry, and swoon at the same time. On The Rocks was so much more than I expected. This book had me on the edge of my seat at 3am crying so much because I just loved these characters so much.
Noah is the guy you want in your life, he is sweet, caring, a good brother, and a very hard worker. All he wants is to be there for his family, and maybe one day find a woman who makes him smile like his mom made his dad smile. I just loved how honest Noah always was, when he sees Ruby Grace again the last thing he expects is to be thinking about her nonstop.
Ruby Grace is there to make her parents happy, play the role she was always expected to. Her dreams don’t matter, her life is already planned out, and she loves the guy she is about to marry…… until she sees Noah again. When Ruby Grace sees Noah, she doesn’t expect for her plans and thoughts to be questioned. What she thought she wanted isn’t what she really wants anymore, she has dreams that thanks to Noah is starting to realize she wants to accomplish.
Noah makes Ruby Grace see that she has the right to be happy, she has the right to accomplish HER dreams, and has the right to be anything she wants and be with anyone she wants to be with . Guys, these two had me swooning. I loved every single thing about this book. I just loved how Noah fought for Ruby Grace and her dreams, he made her see that she doesn’t have to settle for what her parents want from her, she has the right to be happy and do what she wants to do. This is a must read, this book will have you loving Noah and Ruby Grace so much.
Another amazing and unforgettable book by Kandi Steiner.
I’m not sure where to start with this one. I absolutely adore Kandi and all her books but this one…….. this one might top them all!! Ruby Grace and Noah are my new favorite book couple!! They are so real and genuine. Kandi has created a world that is so amazing and I just want to crawl into it and live there. It has been a privilege to read this book and get a glimpse into these characters lives. I cannot wait for the rest of the Becker boys stories.
