AN AMAZON TOP 50 BESTSELLEROn the Rocks is a stand-alone, small town, country romance in the Becker Brothers Series. Noah Becker is nothing but trouble. That’s what Mama told me when I was a kid, kicking his pew in church and giggling at the games we’d play. It’s what the town said when his father died and the Becker brothers went wild. And it’s on repeat in my mind the day I walk into the whiskey … mind the day I walk into the whiskey distillery where he works to buy a wedding gift for my fiancé.
He’s trouble.
Dirty, sweaty, rude trouble.
No matter how many times I repeat it, I can’t escape Noah in our small Tennessee town. And the more I run into him, the more he infuriates me.
Because he sees what no one else does.
He sees me—the real me.
The me I’m not sure I’m allowed to be.
I’m Ruby Grace Barnett, the mayor’s daughter. Soon to be a politician’s wife, just like Mama and Daddy always wanted. Soon to fulfill my family’s legacy, just like I always knew I would.
Until the boy everyone warned me about makes me question everything, like whether the wedding I’m planning is one I even want.
Everyone says Noah Becker is nothing but trouble.
If only I had listened.

Inspirational and wonderful writing!
On the Rocks by Kandi Steiner is a summer read with a small town feel. Sweet, sexy, and with the perfect amount of angst… I just couldn’t get enough!
Everyone knows that in small towns people love to gossip about you… and Noah Becker is no exception. Known around as the bad boy of the Becker boys, his smirk alone is trouble and Noah is bound to make you feel weak in the knees #swoon. He’s 28 and a whiskey barrel raiser . So, obviously, whiskey is in his blood. Meeting Ruby Grace takes him by surprise. He’s immediately captivated by her presence.
“If you were mine, Ruby Grace, your dreams wouldn’t come second to anything.”
At just 19 Ruby Grace Barnett has her future set in stone. She is to marry her college boyfriend and soon become the wife of a politician. After all, it’s been ingrained in her since she was young to follow in her mother’s footsteps. However, meeting Noah Becker changes everything. He has her questioning her dreams, her aspirations, and what she wants out of life.
“He was a lightning storm, fun to watch from afar but dangerous to dance with.”
I loved seeing Ruby change into someone different when she was around Noah. She didn’t have to act so prim and proper. She could be a little wild and have fun. She also finds her true self and begins to love that version of her. You see, that was the beauty of her relationship with Noah. He brought out the best in Ruby and she did the same for him.
On The Rocks had a dynamic family story. So much so, I can’t wait for the other Becker boys to get their chance at love! Overall, this was such a wonderful book. I definitely recommend you read it .
Kandi Steiner brings a summer romance in her latest — On the Rocks! Available in Kindle Unlimited!
This book was SO refreshing! Absolutely adored.
Oh bless my heart!! This southern style story is just as perfect as a smooth glass of whiskey!
On The Rocks is the story of Noah and Ruby Grace (flove the names!!).
A bit of an age gap, a bit of social class inequality and more heat than a summer day in Tennessee, that’s what you are getting with this story.
As always Ms. Steiner brings the angst and she brings it big time to this story! I was crying and waiting on baited breath till the end.
Noah is a laborer, he is a barrel raiser. (I also learned so many interesting things in this book!) His family has worked in the distillery for generations and he is continuing this family tradition. He is proud, he is fine and he is unapologetic about who he is and where he comes from.
Ruby Grace is the quintessential southern belle. Born into a political family, and knows what is expected of her. But is it what she really wants? I empathized with her situation and my heart broke with her trials.
And that ending! Oh how perfect for both Noah and Ruby Grace! It is the true meaning of true and selfless love!
I loved this introduction to this new series, this new cast of characters we are introduced to sound amazing!! I cannot wait to see the next story in this series!
“Anyone can lead an ordinary life, child,” she’d said to me one lazy afternoon. “But the best adventures are reserved for the ones brave enough to be extraordinary.”
First I have to say that I am normally not a fan of the more straight forward romances…..meaning I need more than just a little angst to fulfill my cold dead heart, I need the dark and twisted side of love. I also tend to stay far away from “Southern” romance because they usually depict my “home” inaccurately and think adding in as many ya’ll’s as possible makes the character authentic. But the cover of this one kept dragging me in and when the blurb promised a bad boy and whiskey…..well it was just enough to make me take my first shot with this author. Im happy to report that it was worth the risk and blew all my misconceptions up in my face.
“He was a lightning storm, fun to watch from afar but dangerous to dance with. I wasn’t going to toy with that line of danger.”
Told in dual POV and set in a small Tennessee town known for its famous whiskey, this story is about finding true love in the one person you aren’t supposed to. Its about risks and sacrifice, about family and betrayal, about love and being selfish for happiness. It is a standalone, although there are opportunities for other standalone installments featuring other Becker brothers.
“My heart was trained to love whiskey long before it ever learned how to love a woman.”
Noah Becker has spent his life around the whiskey that made this town famous and the distillery that is responsible for his fathers death. He is one of the best barrel raisers in the business and has devoted his life to securing his family’s legacy in the Scooter Whiskey history books while being the best son to his mother and there for all his brothers. His dreams are simple—he just wants the love his parents had, a few kids, a dog, and a modest home. The problem? The kind of love he wants requires the perfect woman for him….one he hasn’t seemed to find in his endless string of one night stands. All that changes when Ruby Grace shows up at the distillery looking to buy her fiance the perfect wedding gift…..
“You’re not meant to be a puppet in some man’s sideshow, Ruby Grace. You’re meant to be his entire world.”
Ruby Grace Barnett, mayors daughter and wife to a future politician, is living the life she has been groomed to live. So what if she has to put her plans and dreams on the backburner? She knows that is part of the job marrying her handsome fiance Anthony. She finds herself back in her small town planning a wedding that is just 6 weeks away. She never imagined the one person that would have her questioning everything is the same boy who she played games in the pews on Sunday mornings. The more time she spends with Noah, the more she sees that maybe this isn’t “it”….but the Becker boys are trouble and this is what most little girls dream of right? She isn’t so sure anymore, but when secrets come to light and loyalties are tested Ruby Grace must make a choice…..one that has consequences no matter what she chooses.
“If you were mine, Ruby Grace, your dreams wouldn’t come second to anything.”
Noah and Ruby Grace’s story does end with a HFN ending but with plenty of room to expand within the other brothers stories. If you think this will be a simple romance from start to finish, you are in for a surprise because there are a few twists you won’t see coming.
“If he was a dream, I would sleep, just so I could keep him a little longer. I’d sleep, and maybe — just maybe — I’d wake on a day where I got to keep him forever.”
Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised by both this author and this book. It had a slow burn that was paced just right, perfect for building up the tension while making me crave more. It has so many dynamic elements that made me eager to know anything I could about almost every character. The angst is definitely present in this one as is a few pretty heartbreaking moments as well. Kandi was able to authentically capture a Southern town and its citizens without making them look backwoods and uneducated. She created an entire universe surrounding the Becker brothers and Scooter Whiskey that makes you CRAVE more. If this author’s other books are anywhere near as fantastically written as this one is…..well count me a FAN!
“Whatcha thinking about, Noah Becker?”“Just you, Ruby Grace,” I mused, meeting her gaze again. “Always you.”
It’s a small town, country romance packed with tension and heat. Available in Kindle Unlimited!
5 fascinating stars!

A heartwarming, slow-burn and all-consuming read! Kandi Steiner delivered a phenomenal small-town romance. On The Rocks hooked me from the very first page. It is everything I was expecting and then some. It is full of swoon worthy moments, witty conversations, and angst for days.
Noah and Ruby were NEVER meant to happen. They came from different social circles and didn’t ever cross paths. Besides their encounters as children in church, they had not seen or heard from each other. That is until the day Ruby walks back into town looking to buy a wedding gift for her future husband.
The moment Noah laid eyes on this woman, because she had definitely grown up, he was mesmerized. There was no denying the spark between the two, but that was crazy, she was engaged to be married. He was just supposed to help her pick out the Whiskey barrel she was to gift her future husband. One thing lead to another and before Noah knew it, he found himself pining over someone he could never have.
Ruby thought she had it all. She had found the love of her life and was about to marry him. So why did her life feel like it was void of something, like there was more to her than becoming the perfect wife. She was ambitious and had goals, but everything she wanted was falling between the cracks and all it took was one person to put it in perspective for her. Noah was never supposed to be more than an acquaintance, a friend, a crush she had when she was only eight. But her heart couldn’t help but fall in love with Noah Becker.
Her engagement wasn’t all black and white. Her fiance had secrets that could break everything Ruby believed she had. All she had to do was open her eyes. Noah Becker was not who she was supposed to end up with, but he was the man she deserved.
I love Kandi Steiner. Her writing always delivers a punch, but this, by far, became one of my all time favorite books by her. I loved everything about this book! I can’t even express how excited I am to get more of the Becker brothers. This book not only had me falling in love with the hero but with the secondary characters as well, I will be counting down until we get to revisit the Beckers and this small town!
A definite must read!
Another incredible read from Kandi Steiner!!
AHH!! This book was phenomenal. As soon as I heard the synopsis, and dove into the novel, I became captivated. I was enraptured in the story and the lives of the characters.
Noah and Ruby are two characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. They have this undeniable and indescribable chemistry between them. No matter how hard they try to resist one another, they can’t ignore the pull that happens every time they are around one another. It is this pull between them, that also pulls the readers into their story.
When you first read the synopsis, you may think that the plot line sounds predictable and overdone. Don’t think that way at all!!! Kandi has a way of taking a simple storyline, and making them complex and detailed, all the while adding in the steam and drama that make a wonderful romance novel.
I cannot recommend and rate this book highly enough. If I could give this novel a million stars, I would. 5 simply isn’t enough.
5/5 Stars!

Looking for the perfect summer romance read? Look no further! Kandi Steiner brings that and more in her latest — On the Rocks! It’s a small town, country romance packed with tension and heat.
I am a big fan of Kandi Steiner’s writing. She just has this beautiful way with words and makes you fall in love with her characters and their stories. This was a good read and I did enjoy it. It definitely didn’t have as much angst as I was thinking it would. I love me some angst. I loved Noah and Ruby Grace and if you’re in the mood for a quick and light romantic read for the start of summer definitely check this one out.
SO. DAMN. GOOD!!!! WOW. Kandi Steiner blew me away with On the Rocks! The slow burn, the angst, the indecision, the LOVE. WOAH! I am in complete awe right now. This book is EVERYTHING. I haven’t read one of her books in a while now and decided to read an early copy because I enjoyed the books in her Palm South University series. But this one is so DIFFERENT. So BEAUTIFUL. And such a PERFECT forbidden love story! I just can’t even fathom what some of her other contemporary romances are like. If they are like this you can guarantee I will be binge reading them soon! Gah! It’s just so good. Clearly, I highly recommend this one. It’s a top favorite of 2019!!!
On the Rocks combines some of my favorite tropes in the romance genre:
• Age Gap
• Forbidden
• Slow Burn
And it’s a southern romance. – YES!!!!!
So imagine my delight when I realized all of this was combined into this beautiful love story! I was ecstatic. Kandi Steiner doesn’t hold back in this one. Her characters are raw, honest, and entirely believable. I can understand why certain decisions were made and then later regretted. I can understand the indecision, the torture (on the soul, not in a scary or dark way), and the hurt. And I can also understand why in the end, the characters opened their eyes and hearts even if it was at the cost of others (although I don’t think this “cost at others expenses” was their burden to bare). Readers will feel the emotions, the butterflies, and everything else within these pages because of how it it written! It’s truly amazing!
I won’t get into the plot of the story too much. But I’ll say that there is a forbidden romance that occurs within the book that will take you on an emotional roller coaster to an HEA. I only wanted to throw my iPad once LOL.
If you have a chance to read On the Rocks I highly recommend it! I can’t even begin to describe how amazing this book felt to me. And as a blogger who reads A LOT of books, this means so much!
Just six short weeks until her wedding the Mayor’s Daughter, Ruby Grace, suddenly starts doubting her future with her soon- to- be politician fiancee. Overwhelmed in wedding planning, Ruby’s mother sends her to the town’s Whiskey Distillery to purchase a barrel of the town’s finest whiskey.
Unprepared for the walking conditions at the Distillery, Ruby Grace silently curses her mother for making her wear heels. Taking pity on Ruby for putting her through the unnecessary walk, Noah suggests she remove her heels. Fully ready to shut the idea down, Noah removes his shirt and lays it at her feet, literally. *Swoon*
There were so many scenes I loved in this book, whisking Ruby away to ride horses and dancing together in the pool… and Betty! OMG she’s the best but what I really loved was the characters and the overall feel to the story.
Watching Noah fall for Ruby Grace was inspiring and swoon worthy. I literally felt the tender moments between them.
On the Rocks was a perfect, small town romance that I highly recommend. I can’t wait to read about the other Becker Brothers.
*I received On the Rocks as an ARC for an honest review*

Ah as soon as I seen a new book from Kandi I knew I had to give it a read.
Although I enjoyed it so much and it was extremely well written I found myself, at times, skipping through a few pages as I wasn’t connecting with the story. I can’t put my finger on what exactly it was but unfortunately I couldn’t.
In the end though, I found myself enjoying it more than I did in the first half.
The characters were lovely, Ruby Grace and Noah were amazing. Their connection from the get go was beautiful and I absolutely adored how much Noah wanted to make her see that she should never settle for anything less than she deserves. He’s an incredible man.
Kandi really did an amazing job with this book and although I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked I would still recommend it. Kandi has a way for hooking a reader in and you’ll love it.
On The Rocks is a small town, forbidden romance with an age gap but one that’ll leave you wanting more from them.
Summer romance alert! (And available in KU) This is a steamy small-town treat from Kandi Steiner, who does tension so well!
