One taste will never be enough… You learn a lot about people pouring their drinks and London is what I would consider a regular.Like clockwork, she’s been coming into my bar twice a week for the last year. Besides her name, I’ve learned that she’s witty, beautiful, and unfortunately… taken. She’s in a relationship with a guy that I’m pretty sure doesn’t deserve her. Respecting that is the …
Respecting that is the only thing stopping me from figuring out the things I really want to know.
Things like, what her body feels like against mine, or how she tastes on my tongue.
But one evening, everything changes. London comes in and tells me that they broke up.
One drink leads to two, and she finally confesses that this attraction isn’t one sided.
Our slow burn is about to get blazing hot.
I wasn’t just looking for a one-night stand, not with a girl like her.
But next thing you know, the ex is back. He’s in my bar, sitting next to her.
We try to act like there isn’t a connection between us.
Like our bodies weren’t made for each other and we didn’t set each other aflame with a single kiss.
Every time I look at her, I see the flash in her eyes that tell me she’s remembering it too.
Re-living every delicious second of our time spent together on top of this very bar.
The problem is now that I know what she tastes like, I want more.
On the rocks. It’s how London prefers her drinks, and the current state of her relationship.
And I’m about to shake things up, because I’ll be damned if I let her get away.

This was the first time reading a story by Isabel Lucero, and what a way to start!! First off I love family series’s, they are probably my favorite, because I love the family connections. This series has that times 10!
Royce is the first Kingston brother we have the pleasure of meeting. The local bar owner who can have any girl who walks in, and he usually does until he meets London and then the flavors of the night just don’t hold the same appeal.
London is new to town and doesn’t know much about the Kingston boys except that she likes flirting with Royce a lot. It’s a shame she has a boyfriend.
This story checks all the boxes for me, there’s a little drama, some love and plenty of scenes to make you blush. I loved getting to know a bit about each brother and will be diving into each book in this series. I may have not known who Isabel Lucero was but she is quickly becoming one of my “1click authors”.
On The Rocks (Kingston Brother #1) is the first novel in a new series that follows the four Kingston brothers. In On The Rocks, we meet Royce Kingston, owner of Kings Tavern. We also meet London, who hangs out at his bar with her friends on a regular basis. She is everything he wants. One little issue, she has a boyfriend. But one night everything changes.
This is an amazing slow burn romance. Royce and London are friends. The attraction is obviously there but there is nothing they can do about it while London has the boyfriend. So they really get to know and like each other. When London and Hunter break up and she finally gets with Royce I was screaming I was so happy. But of course, life is never that simple. Misunderstanding and feelings of obligation get in the way as London gets back with her boyfriend. I was as destroyed as Royce.
I loved Royce’s dedication to London. He remained her friend even when he was hurt by her actions. And he was a good friend, one of the people London could trust and rely on. Plus Royce is a dream in every way. I wanted her realize the boyfriend, while not a bad guy, just wasn’t her soulmate. Does London ever realize this or is Royce forced to move on?
All the characters in this book are amazing. Midge is a hoot. The Kingston brothers are all to die for! I cannot wait for Elijah, Cillian and Merrick to get their books. These brothers are hysterical, so hot and the strength of their relationship with each other was amazing. To be honest, I’m hoping Elijah is next up.
Overall, I can tell that this is going to be one of my favorite series based on how much I loved On The Rocks. The story just flowed, the characters were all well developed and likable; plus it was so funny, sexy and heartfelt. I liked how realistic the story was…how many people stay in a relationship because of a sense of duty and obligation instead of making their own happiness the priority? I know I have done this in my life.
I was gifted an ARC by Ardent Rose PR in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is the 1st book in a new series, and is about the 4 Kingston brothers. This 1st book is about ladies man and bar owner Royce, and London who is a regular visitor to the pub with her friends. There is an undeniable chemistry between these two; however, there is an obstacle which is London’s boyfriend. This is a well written story which is realistic, humorous, fun, entertaining, and filled with miscommunication and witty banter. I cannot wait to read more in this intriguing series, and highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all readers.
Enjoyable fun and flirty book that I read in one hit.
It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything from Isabel Lucero, so when the opportunity to review through my blog came up, I was in as quick as all hell. And, in being a contemporary romance, I was rather surprised that this book was completely different to her escort series, which is what I’ve read before. That being said, I still had to read it in one hit.
It was an easy read that I quickly fell all into, and I enjoyed the very descriptive writing which made envisaging the goings on so easy, almost as if I was sitting in the bar with the characters. Do not, however, mistake the term ‘very descriptive’ for an abundance of verbiage, because it wasn’t. There was merely enough to enjoy the banter and the body language of those people in the bar as they were introduced in the story, and interacted with each other. It was great.
Royce and London were both well written, although at one point I serioiusly wanted to b!tch slap her. But, I have to say that we all know people in her situation who have done similar things and yep, I wanted to slap the crap out of them as well. Hell’s teeth! I’d have kicked her to the kerb and taken up with Royce myself, but, it was her that his heart wanted and I just loved his tenacity and patience. He was totally swoon worthy to boot. Lucky for him, London’s best girl Midge was a long term friend of his, and she was is all about getting the right couple together.
In fact, I loved all of the characters, and the banter between them was often hilarious, ensuring that we have more in the series to anticipate. And, I’ve already developed a hope that some will pair off, but who know where the authors’ head is at until we read the books. 4 Stars.
Adorable!
This is the first book in the Kingston Brothers series and we get to meet (and love) them all.
The author made a really good job of building the guys to be enticing. I loved their interactions, their closeness and loyalty, I loved how different they were and yet how supportive they were of each other.
This time, we get Royce (one of the brothers) and London’s story. He was totally dreamy. Easy going, fun to be around, attentive, caring, respectful and sexy as heck. It was impossible not to love him.
London was nice, but she drove me mad most of the time. As the blurb indicated, she already had a boyfriend when she met Royce, but their chemistry was undeniable and their feelings were growing stronger and pulling them toward each other.
And let’s face, her boyfriend wasn’t all that amazing.
I understood her issues and conflictions, I really agreed to what her mother said to her at the end (I was thinking the same thing the whole time), but London seemed so imature most of the time.
And what really bothered me was because I thought she was being selfish. I mean, she was dating this guy she didn’t like that much but she was undeniably flirting with the guy she really liked and she knew he liked her back. So she just strung them both along, keeping her boyfriend because he was a safe bet in case Royce didn’t want something serious, but leading Royce on in case he made a move so she could dump the first guy.
Despite that, the book was really good, the secondary characters were amazing and I’m excited for more Kingston Brothers.

Another first for me. I have known who this author is for a while; I just hadn’t read any of her books until now. Another author I will definitely be reading more from in the future.
I feel like all of my reviews are the same. I keep sitting here trying to find words I haven’t repeatedly used over an over again. Did I like the characters? Yup. Did I like the plot? Yup.
I pretty much breezed through this book. It kept my attention from start to finish. I really enjoyed these characters and their journey. There were times I may not have liked London’s choices at that moment, but that was what made it more entertaining.
I am definitely looking forward to future books in this series.
This is a new author to me and I will definitely be checking out more of her work. London and Royce have been attracted to each other for years, flirted back-and-forth and gave sexy looks but London has had a boyfriend up until now so it has not gone any further. Royce and Landon have this sexy banter going on that seems like foreplay on each of their encounters. But when London doesn’t have a boyfriend anymore the fireworks ensue. I can’t wait to get my hands Royce’s brothers books!! Who will be next?
On The Rocks by Isabel Lucero was a fantastic start to her Kingston Brother Series. It is about Royce one of the four Kingston brothers, Royce is quite the ladies man but quickly falls in love with London. This story is about their journey to find love. Only thing standing in the way is London’s boyfriend, but he is not a problem for Royce. There is an undeniable chemistry between these two. I would recommend this book for the amazing writing style and fantastic story line.
This book y’all!! It was sinfully delicious! I loved the characters and their banter. And Royce…well, let’s just say he won me over immediately. Cocky and self assured. But not over the top. He’s perfect. This book is perfect. Isabel knocked it out of the park! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. Her words are perfection!
This was a GREAT introduction to the Kingston Brothers! I loved Royce’s character, he was persistent, loyal and funny. He was a good friend to London, an amazing brother and a cool boss. His brothers and their relationship were endearing, I loved that they made me laugh as well as get a little teary eyed. London was a little harder for me to take, I wanted to shake her sometimes, but she did feel ‘real” and I understand where she was coming from. Midge, I need more ~ she was a great asset to this one.
I can’t wait to see what comes next for these brothers!
When you find the perfect bar… and the bar tender is just as perfect? London found a great local spot close to home one problem the sexy bar tender Royce is even better than her Johnny Walker Black on the rocks.
London is funny and sweet and every thing that can break bad boy Royce of his one night stands no relationships. The only problem is her boy friend. To bad he was just a few days to late.
A year later and he can’t stop thinking about her she comes in twice a week sits on the same stool and has the same drink. He has asked her for months to break up with her boy friend.
London is falling for Royce but she’s in a ok relationship and feels like she can’t walk away for a bad boy with no chance of a relationship.
The more she goes into the bar the more she realizes she’s not happy. Can she walk away from a relationship for a maybe?
This book was so good I could not put it down I can’t wait for the next one!! I loved all the characters and the story it was one of those books you can’t wait to finish to see what happens.
This is the first novel in the Kingston Brothers series and having met them all in this book, I know we are in for a real treat when each of their stories are released.
On the Rocks focuses on Royce Kingston and holy schmoly there was nothing I didn’t like about this man! I was a little jealous of London snagging Royce’s attention but I really loved her personality and enjoyed their interactions – you could see how smitten they were with each other too!
The supporting characters in the book added to my overall enjoyment of this story. I’ve already mentioned Royce’s brothers, they all seem like great guys and I am intrigued to learn more about them. London’s friends are just like the lady herself – fun and caring and I’m certain you will love observing their friendship and the bond that the characters share.
This book was a great read. It held my attention perfectly and I wanted to keep turning the pages to discover what happened next. I’m certain you will enjoy it just as much as I have.
I have been a huge fan of Isabel Lucero since her Escort series and I was so excited to see she is beginning a new series. I adored the Kingston brothers so far and can’t wait for more!
“The way he was looking at you? Jesus McChrist. It’s the way I look at cupcakes . A deep yearning. A longing gaze. A burning desire. An aching hunger.”
There was an amazing cast of secondary characters in this book, with Midge being my favorite.
I loved the slow burn, the sizzling chemistry and the entire family feel I got throughout this book. I definitely can’t wait for the next brothers story! (4 stars)
One hundred percent YES to Royce. I absolutely loved him. Their story was great and it gets me more and more excited for the other books in this series. I have my ideas but only one knows. Who am I kidding, I enjoyed all of the Kingston brothers. GIVE ME MORE!!!
* A review copy was provided by the author *
I took chance on reading this book. I read the blurb and was nervous that this story would go in a certain direction, but because I have read and loved all of Isabel’s previous books, I decided to give it a chance. I should’ve listened to my gut.
If you are a fan of a love triangle then you should definitely read this book. I think you will truly love this story.
I was truly enjoying this story until I got to the 50% mark and then it changed direction for me. What I don’t like about love triangles is when the heroine turns into a wishy washy woman. Someone who can’t make up their mind on their own. And that’s exactly what happened to London. I lost all respect for her in the second half of the book.
Now Royce….sign me up!! I loved his character and all of his brothers. I look forward to reading those books in the future. Royce really made this book for me, but even he couldn’t help out the fact that this had a love triangle….one of my hard limits when it comes to reading.
Just because this wasn’t the story for me, doesn’t mean you won’t love it. Like I said earlier, if you love a love triangle romance than this is the book for you. Give it try, you never know this could be a 5 star read for you.
