Christy Barritt continues the Lantern Beach Stories with this book about Cassidy and Ty as they try to keep lantern Beach safe from crime. In this book, a cult moves in and strange things begin to happen. Who is responsible for the death of the man discovered in the water and did he have a connection with the cult? More questions than answers for the police chief and her new recruit. Suspense and intrigue abound in this must read book.
I’m glad readers can still hang out at Lantern Beach with the gang we’ve come to love. Cassidy Chambers, the new police chief, seems so real, and it’s great to be able to follow her further adventures. Of course, there’s a dead body and a crime to investigate, and danger always lurks around the corner. Christy Barritt always offers exciting, clean suspense with plenty of tension and intriguing plots. If you have read the series this spun off from, get them too. They are best read in order because of some ongoing mystery, but each stands on its own as a satisfying read. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
Most series books, at least put a bow on the current storyline before finishing the book. This one was a cliffhanger and let us…. Not worth reading another book in the series.
Don’t read this book unless you want to read several more to wrap up the “mystery”. This #1 in the series just stops. A snippet of books 2 is included at the end but unless you watch the chapter #s you’ll never know you finished book 1. I don’t mind series that carry characters over to the next book. But, please give me an ending to each one
Readers met Cassidy and learned all about her own story in the Lantern Beach series. Now, Cassidy is married and the new police chief in the place she found refuge.
Another mystery has arrived in this little beach town along with a dead body. As Cassidy investigates, she is led to a group of people living in isolation from the rest of the citizens. Through some unexpected revelations and some personal secrets from the past, she and Ty try to discover the truth.
I like that Christy Barritt is continuing to write books set in Lantern Beach so I don’t have to let go of these fictional friends yet and love handing out with Cassidy and Ty as they are navigating a new marriage, a new job, and Ty’s dream of opening a place for veterans. There are enough strings left dangling that I’m ready to dive right into the next book in the Lantern Beach PD series.

I obtained this book through Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed “On the Lookout” by Christy Barritt. This is a continuation of Police Chief Cassidy Livingston from the Lantern Beach Mysteries. I like how Christy continued Cassidy’s story. I feel like I already know her! But you don’t need to read the first series to understand what’s going on with this series.
This book starts out with a very suspicious death on the small island. As Cassidy looks into this death, she comes across a very mysterious group on the island. She tries to figure out if they have anything to do with the murder.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good, clean, romantic suspense fiction. Christy Barrritt continues to be one of my favorite authors.
I received this book from the author for my honest opinion.
I love everything this author writes
Would have liked it better if it hadn’t ended so abruptly. It’s an interesting story, even exciting at times, but I don’t know if it’s really interesting enough to keep reading a series.
A great and interesting book that will keep you turning pages to the end.
Love Christy Barritt books. They are all suspenseful and entertaining. Great characters, and great themes.
When Cassidy Chambers accepted as police chief, on Lantern Beach she knew the job had it’s secrets.
I had already read the previous book and now I want to read the next one. Even though they could stand alone who would want them to! I like the lack of foul language in these.
It doesn’t end.
Really liked it. Setting was good, people believe able. Story was hard to put down. Can’t wait to read the rest of series
Love this series!
I love this series. It is an easy read one of those by the pool reads.
Stopped in the middle of the story.
I didn’t like the fact you have to read the next book to tie find out what happens otherwise I liked it
Another good, clean entertaining story by this author…A few unoredictables, which makes it extra fun…
Ms. Barritt, how could you? I absolutely loved every page, you were destined to get a five-star rating which I rarely give, the compelling plot and characters were everything a reader could hope for, there were no typos….then it stopped. It didn’t end, it stopped. Only one of the many situations resolved. You’re way too good an author to need to sell the next books by ending with a cliffhanger, let alone the several this work left us with. I feel cheated.
