Holy crap that ending! This series is all consuming and I’m completely enthralled with what is happening with Caden and Greyson. I have no idea where their story is going and if I’ll recover when we get there.
This series is classic CD Reiss. It’s dark, gritty and mesmerizing! I don’t feel like I can say anything else without spoiling things. Just know you need to start with book 1. By the end of that book you won’t need any words from me.
Caden has reached a precipice in his illness. No longer is it lurking in the shadows and creeping in unexpectedly. There is a pattern and the battle is getting harsh. Greyson is doing what wives do, trying her best to deal with it all and love her husband. How far are you willing to go to continue to support the man of your dreams when all you are getting are nightmares? She has decisions to make and two forces to deal with in making them. Then toss in outside forces that threaten to pull you apart and life becomes a living hell. This story will rip you up. It will challenge your beliefs in life, love, devotion and sanity. You start to wonder who is really sick here. Him, him or her. I am very much anticipating the next 2 books. I am also waiting to like CD again. 😉 This series is not for the faint of heart. There are no sweet moments but there are those that touch you deeply. There are moments when you will love or hate the characters. But, it is a fascinating read.
GOOD GOD NO YOU CANT END LIKE THAT !!!
Jeeeeeeeezzzoooo

This is such an emotionally charged, complicated, full of twists and turns it’s difficult not to be exhausted when you finish the last word on the last page. I read this book in a matter of hours, every horror and violent turn from the first book now starts to fall into place in the second book. To say this book/series is bizarre so far would be a huge understatement, but it’s one that you absolutely cannot put down once you start reading it, it’s that good. I know that PTSD is real in our men and women that come back from their tour in the military, but Caden/Damon’s situation is just mind boggling. I would be terrified if I were Greyson, and I certainly wouldn’t allow the morning Caden to lay a hand on me, but Greyson married that Caden, and she can’t live without him. The ending shouldn’t have been as big a surprise to me as it was, but it did kind of take me back for a minute. The only irritating thing for me is I now need to wait for book three to come out! Once again, this book is very well written and leaves you wanting more, like now! Very much looking forward to book three.
Well the title is very fitting for this book. Because it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
CD Reiss is certainly turning the heat up this summer with this series. I don’t even know what to say?!?!
I finished this book a few days ago and I am still struck dumb. We didn’t get a whole lot of answers in this book. But there were more interactions between Greyson, Caden and Damon. I was left with my stomach in my throat throughout most of this book. Waiting for the next bomb to drop. Well it did. And Reiss left us hanging us at the end. OMG!!!!!! She is killing me with series.
Loved it!! Can’t wait for the next installment!
Great.read

Kris –
Boy, did this story take a turn I wasn’t expecting at ALL! Caden, trying to become at ease with his need for dominance and sadism, actually ends up split in two, figuratively. Greyson now has two men in her life, though both are her husband. This turn really amps of the mystery of exactly what happened to Caden in the military and in his childhood. Greyson loves her husband, but she wasn’t prepared for his mental breakdown. I love Greyson’s character – she’s strong, loving, and very capable. She’s also trying to come to terms with her own needs and the one personality in her husband calls to Greyson’s masochism. But the other personality is appalled at what he has done to her when he wasn’t in charge. I feel for Greyson, living with a split person and also dealing with these newfound issues within herself. The story is written to perfection and flows so well and so quickly it was over before I knew it or wanted it to be. Another ending that is groan worthy… can’t wait to get my hands on book three!

FUCK EVERYTHING TO THE WAR AND BACK
I am seriously offended that C.D. Reiss did THAT to me. I know she doesn’t know me but God damn it I just want these two to be happy. WHY IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK???
*deep breaths* I obviously love and respect CD too much that was just me being an idjit because I do not know how to process my feelings like an adult.
Caden is at war with himself. He doesn’t know who he is which makes him an extreme threat to Greyson but mostly to himself. Greyson is coming to terms with the disease that plagues her husband but she doesn’t know how to detach herself enough to help him. She craves him too much to let him go. He doesn’t know how to go on.
I am telling you guys, this series has aged me ten years and given me permanent heart problems. I thought the last book was hurtful but this book practically ended me. I AM CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
The thing about this story is that it is absolutely vivid, exciting and just so breathtakingly beautiful. It doesn’t have the “normal” kind of love but who the hell needs that? This story is unconventional, thought provoking and so bloody real, it’ll haunt you.
On the Edge by CD Reiss has me literally on the edge once again. This book and series has me obsessed. My heart and emotions were all over the place because Reiss has done her magic. She has me spellbound to her poetic words and flawed characters. This may be a complicated love story, but it is a love story and so if you are like me then I highly recommend you to read this series. Get lost in the proverbial rabbit hole as CD Reiss will take you on one emotional, angsty and twisty ride where you are completely in awe of her flawless and seamless writing. Honestly, this book and series might be my new addiction and obsession…a dangerous addiction but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
“If you’re ever in the darkness again…don’t ever doubt that I love you.” – Greyson
I do believe the wound which opened up as my heart was cleaved in two from reading Rough Edge and Cutting Edge has just been made deeper and more jagged with reading this latest book in the series, On the Edge. Along with my wounded heart is a disquieted mind as this master storyteller weaves a heavy and complicated patterned tapestry of events and determinants that result in a strong capable brilliant man’s alleged personality split… wrapped around his fated, unquestionable love for one woman. And… this woman’s dedicated and determined effort as both a loving wife and educated psychiatrist to knit him back together into the whole man she married. Like most readers, I try to parse the writer’s every clue as to what happened in the past…what is really happening now and try to guess at a conclusion. It’s only human nature.
Ah, but this is a true masterpiece and the answers are tucked tightly in between the pages…between the words even. So, there are no easy or readily discernible answers. Then of course there is the eroticism…who can think about clues, mysteries or anything plot related when there is such a devastating Dominant man described as Caden St. John and his endowments…and the things he does… Add to the mix Damon and his particular charm. Somehow my focus is stolen by the overwhelming eroticism.
I am astonished at the intimate revelations of both Caden and Damon. I have never read anything quite like this. Happily, I will even admit to having reread it. It is perfectly fascinating. I will say it again…it is also hot AF!
I appreciate how honestly Greyson is written as a character. I can somewhat identify with her. She is a psychiatrist who specializes in treating veterans with PTSD. She knows that Caden’s traumatic experiences in his deployments contributed to his current psychiatric disorder, but she is not ready to attribute his condition entirely to PTSD. She is committed to him broken as much as she committed to him a whole man when she married him. While she tries to take the proper clinical steps as a psychiatrist to hasten his return to wholeness, she sometimes gives into the temptation that is her beautiful husband…his voice, his smell, his touch. Greyson also discovered her kink with Caden just before he manifested his disorder. She can be dangerous in her desires which begs the “unasked” question…? She has her own issues and the situation is wearing on her own sanity.
At this point in the series, I cannot be sure of what the author is ultimately saying. I get some ideas on how destructive jealousy can be…That war leaves it mark on all who experience it…That love wakes up a sleeping heart and will always be the motivation to protect its beloved. Does love itself reside in a discrete area of the mind or does it permeate the entirety of the personhood touching all the “self” beyond personality?
I am consumed with ideas and theories but as this is not a free-for-all and only a simple review, I will hold my pen. I will say if you love a mind bending, heart rending, searingly hot erotic romantic suspense then what are you waiting for? Jump right in with the Prequel to the series, Cutting Edge. The delightful torture begins free for the asking.
“If I could write my love in the sky, it wouldn’t be big enough. I’d run out of room. I’d fall out of the air trying to say it all.” – Caden
Um, what can I say to give this book justice? Book one left me hanging dry, like wtf! This book, did the same thing! I think I was left even more confused, more lost. I didn’t know who was who. I have no idea what’s happening or where this story is going! But as confused and whatever I was left feeling, this story is so freaking AMAZING!! I just don’t know how to seriously express myself about this book. It messed with my head, yet I just couldn’t put this down.
Like with “Rough Edge”, “One The Edge” was just as intriguing, full of twists. It sucks you in, and takes you for a super messed up mind ride! I so invested in these in characters! in the story. I cant wait to see what’s next. will it answer questions, or confuse me even more?
Greyson is trying her best to help her husband and Caden is seriously messed up. I feel so much for both of them. its like they are fighting some kind of battle that seems to like its not getting better for them.
I love C.D Reiss writing style. always so put together. great stories. super intriguing and steam HOT. This series is super good. Its only book 2! so much more is come and I cant wait!
“You’re the beating heart of my life. You’re the blood in my veins.”
CD Reiss is playing a very dangerous game with my heart here. I’m blown away…AGAIN! My mind is reeling and I need hugs…lots and lots of hugs…and maybe some wine.
This review is going to be short and sweet because I feel like I’m just repeating myself with every new book that comes out in this series, so here is the gist of it…
CD Reiss writes with no boundaries, which I respect like crazy. Her writing is bold, poetic, beautiful, and daring. She creates these characters that move you in a way you didn’t know you could be moved. Reiss will push you to your limits and then help you to cross them. It’s always flawless writing, but written with such depth you would think it took her years to write it. This is a very complicated love story, but a love story no less. This is about a married couple going through something you can’t even wrap your brain around, and yet, they still are fighting for each other, no matter what. That is the type of love…the type of romance that I crave, and it seems like sometimes, CD Reiss is the only author who can give me that.
So, ON THE EDGE…this is only book two of four, my friends. I have a feeling we have yet to scratch the surface of what this author has in store for us. I’m prepared, and yet, I’m not prepared at all, but I have faith that CD Reiss will ROCK MY WORLD, no matter what.
The thing with CD Reiss is you’re never really sure where she’s going to take you. I finished On The Edge and sat wondering to myself how does she do it? How does she take us on these journeys that leave us stunned but satisfied, confused but content, wrecked (mentally and emotionally) but wondering? As always her writing is sublime and the characters still have our full attention, now more than ever. Where is their story taking us? The love is powerful and possibly too powerful for all of them to emerge in one piece. Time will tell and the twists keep coming. I’m here for the long haul although I might need therapy while I wait for Broken Edge Book 3. I haven’t really said much about the actual story because it’s difficult not to give too much away. I will say if you haven’t started this series you should. It’s CD Reiss fast, furious and f*#king with our heads #Waiting
I was kept on the edge of my seat & enthralled by this book! I was enthralled by the continuation of the story (as it picks up right where Rough Edge left us) & enthralled by the characters CD Reiss has created in Caden/Damon & Greyson. This story is nothing like I have ever read before, & I love it! Can’t wait for part 3!
The story continues and so does my awe at the stories Christine is able to weave. She brings these characters to life in a way that leaves me breathless and silent when I’ve read the last word. Her writing is sublime. The characters complex, multi-layered masterpieces. You don’t just read these stories, you absorb them, eat, sleep and breathe them. I’m now obsessed with Caden, Damon, Greyson and Ronin. I’m purposely not saying much about the story because you’re better off going in knowing as little as possible. Just read the whole series and marvel at Christine’s talent.
On the Edge by C.D. Reiss is the second book in The Edge series and I still do not know anything and I am loving every minute of it. I am consumed with Caden and Greyson and am still trying to determine what is happening and where it will all go. This story is captivating and dark and will grip you from start to end.
I have no words. None. Except you must read and experience this story. I wish I could just tell you everything, but honestly, I know nothing, except this story is so much more than you ever expected. Greyson loves a man so deeply, she will do anything for him. Caden desperately needs and wants Greyson, but at what cost?
And that ending. That ending. How can I sit here and just patiently wait for the next book? I have no idea. The ending of the first book stayed with me so long, I think I will have to sit in a corner and count down until the release of the next book. All I can say is this is a must-read. Just be prepared for an emotional roller coaster you will not regret!

Happy reading!
…….. and here I thought the ending of Rough Edge was wow; the ending of On the Edge just blew me away. I don’t even know how yo react and I’m just stunned like “wtf just happened?”.
The story of Greyson and Caden continues here and it got much darker than Book 1. I flipped the pages glued to every word wondering what in the world is going to happen now. How is Greyson going to help her husband?! What is Caden going to do to her next? It was just as intriguing as Book 1 and would leave with more questions and concerns than Book 1.
The love between these was so raw and not lost but their relationship is I don’t know. They are both fighting for their marriage but makes you wonder while reading this book how much more longer will Greyson continue to endure and put up with to save her marriage. And Caden?! Oh my Caden has left me speechless in this book and made my jaw drop in the ending.
I can’t wait for book 3. This book is a good mixture of angst, suspense, love and sadness.
I just don’t know where to start! The only thing there is to say is this; you need this books in your life. On the Edge is the second installment on the Rough Edge series, and omg did it have me on the edge. In this book we get more Caden. More insight in his mind and it was just mind blowing, how CD Reiss manages to suck you in with her writing and leaves you wanting more.
Do yourself a favor and start this series, I swear you won’t regret it. It will have you guessing on the next move, you will be on the edge of your seat, it will break your heart and you will have no idea what to expect next, because now we wait until July. I’m anxiously waiting to know what comes next.
5 amazing starts!!!
I read an ARC and this is my honest opinion
