Meredith delivered a seriously emotionally charged read with On My Knees. I wanted to strangle Cam and Maya more than once then I’d turn the page and want to hug them. It was a beautiful read, I absolutely loved it.
I read this book years ago and liked it then. Doing a reread made me realized why I liked it so much. Maya and Cameron went on a journey of forgiveness, loss, and unconditional love.
Emotional, gripping, real life drama with a touch of if only ….. was a edge of your seat not sure if you love them or want to yell at them kind of charters. Involves your entire heart in this emotional journey you can’t help but hope will lead to a happy place. So worth the read.
ON MY KNEES (Bridge Series Book 1) by Meredith Wild
This is the excellently written emotional story of Maya Jacobs and Cameron Bridge. It is a second chance romance and if someone ever deserved one it is Cameron and Maya. When his proposal goes awry due to Maya (she has serious family issues to deal with, but does not share that with Cameron) turning him down, Cameron leaves for 5 years in the military. A chance meeting after all those years makes them reconnect. This is a 5 star read by Meredith Wild.
I enjoyed it so much I went right into book two and three. They are just as good.
This was an absurdly real read that had a great vibe to it. Second chance romance anyone? Yes, we know Maya could be resistant to marrying Cameron but hey only fools rush in.
What did I like? Despite the real feeling factor you could positively see the love Cam had for Maya, and it felt great. What is so good about second chances is that hopefully you don’t make the same mistakes… your older… your wiser, you’ve honestly had time to be without the person. So either right the wrong and bite the bullet, or give up and move on. I was not a hacker fan so this series surprised me.
Would I recommend or buy? Yes, great series. I hope the series is getting a reboot or maybe it’s all finished. I’m curious about the rest of the siblings. I really enjoyed the book and read it in one sitting.
Thoughts for the author? Congratulations, and what a good book. Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and this is my opinion. Loved it …five stars.
On My Knees by Meredith Wild is the First book in the Bridge Series. This is the story of Cameron Bridge and Maya Jacobs.
Cameron had asked Maya to marry him but she turned him down which of course broke his heart. But it also broke Maya’s heart too because she didn’t feel she could marry him due to her family issues. Now about 5 years later they happen to meet again by chance bring their feelings full force again. This was a good second chance at love.
I enjoyed this story. The connection between the 2 main characters is strong and full of emotion and need. I felt like the doubts of Maya carried on for a bit too long though but still enjoyed this book. Now into the fire we go! Looking forward to Darren and Vanessa’s story next.
I love this book so damn hard, and this author is one of my top 5 favorites of all time. So when I had an itch to read something of hers again, I knew this book/series was perfect.
On My Knees is book one in The Bridge series and it focuses on the life and love story of Maya Jacobs and Cameron Bridge.
This is a second chance love story and it is an emotional yet, beautiful one. Maya and Cameron were together happily, lost in each other up until Cameron decided to ask Maya to marry him, but she could only give him one answer and the answer wasn’t what he wanted to hear, and he wasn’t about to try and see reason, it was all or nothing for him. In which Maya could not do, which ultimately broke them up. Maya hadn’t had a good upbringing, her past had broken her and her faith in relationships and love, she lived with the motto of ” Work hard, Play hard” and that was working perfectly for her.. for a while, Years down the track, Maya is sick and tired of her boring uneventful routine that she calls life. She had gotten far in her life, well with her career at least. She wasn’t a happy person, she was miserable to others and herself. So when Cameron came waltzing back into her life, she was finally ready to let him in, open up about her past and her upbringing and try and make a relationship between the two of them work. It wasn’t easy, there were so many things that had been left unsaid and so many things that they both regretted from their past. But as the story unfolds, the love between them blossoms once more, and they find themselves tangled up with one another, but it’s exactly where they both belonged and had always belonged. It wasn’t smooth sailing from there. There were twists and turns weaved into the plot that the author flawlessly delivered. There were times I wanted to slap the hell out of Maya, and other times where I just wanted to hug her and tell her everything was going to be alright. At first, I struggled to connect with Maya… The way she treated Cameron hurt me and made my own heartbreak but the same can be said about Cameron. He wanted it all and if he didn’t get just that, then he wanted nothing from her. But to see their love blossom again and their lust and passion coming together. It was truly amazing.
This series is one of my all-time favorites and as I said before, so is the author. She always, and I mean ALWAYS manages to throw me through a tunnel of unknown with twists and turns and a story that you just can’t put down and even on my second round for this book, I found myself on the edge of my seat, rapidly reading deeper and deeper into the plot, even knowing what the ending would bring. And that? That’s exactly what Meredith Wild does best. It’s outstanding and beyond incredible and is everything and more that I love about second chance romances, and romances in general.
Once again, I’m giving this 5 stars!
Bring on book 2!
Great book followed by a great series… story is easy to read and HOT
A must read series!
Fabulous read, I couldn’t put it down
Shes done it again.Cam and Mayas story really touched my heart.OH the feels!Idk how she creates this magic but she leaves me wanting more every time!I wish their story didn’t have to end!Moving on to book 2 of the bridge series with much anticipation. You are a word wizard meredith!
I finally read the first book of the Bridge series and I honestly loved it! The story of Maya and Cameron really pulled me in. It left me feeling sad, then full of hope, then anger and then happiness at different times. I felt bad for Cameron because he really wanted to give him and Maya a chance, even if it was dealing with her twisted thoughts on relationships. There were soooo many times I was frustrated with Maya. While I understand she was broken and came from a hard family life, there were times I just wanted to slap her. While I felt Cameron was in the wrong for leaving her because he wanted to jump the gun on their dreams, Maya got to where she wanted as she always planned career wise yet was such a miserable person, to herself and around others. I felt she wasn’t worth Cameron’s time but he really loved her and he did everything in his power to show her just how much he does care. While it was slow, she finally realized and I was super happy to finally see them both happy. I was sick to my stomach on what her bosses wanted her to do and as she grew and opened herself fully to Cameron, she also stood her ground and took control of the situation. A really great read and can’t wait to move on to book 2!
Meredith Wild did it again!! I started the novel with the prologue and it was totally hot! By the time I was done with Chapter one I was completely hooked.
Maya is a loyal love bird at heart, but when life turns upside down her demeanor changes. She drinks just to black out and forget the world. The life she lives is Strong, Confident, Sexy, and Naive, but when love returns she starts to question everything. Only time will tell if she opens up for her happy ever after.
Cameron is a stiff, straight forward, sexy, and lost man. Ever since the day the word no was uttered he has tormented himself. Cameron went to war with his country and himself. He started over in NYC with his brother and sister. Would it be the start of something great or the demise he always thought he deserved?
On My Knees will have you laughing, Upset, Crying, totally involved and ultimately turned on. That is a lot of emotion for just one book but you will feel it all.
I hope you love On My Knees and Meredith Wild as much as I do. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy the book. ~JessicaAnn
Umm let me just say I think the name says it all lol if you have not read the bridge series you are most def. missing out.. I will not give away anything from the book I just want to say #Team Cameron & Maya all the way… Oh and of course he is a military man 😉
I know this book came out years ago, but I am a huge Meredith Wild fan and I love her books. On My Knees was a book I could not put down. This is a new series to me and I can’t wait to get into the next two books that I just bought in paperback!! These characters come with a lot of baggage but wow its was a sight to behold (in my head anyways) when these characters come undone and finally let go. The drama, the present, the mundane, the loss of hope will slowly start to shed and a new light comes in. These characters are nothing but heart and soul. I love them and love this series already!!!
