This book was a page turner till the end for me. Follow Sarah, Ian, and a few others as they try to stop a disgusting man from doing bad things in an all girl’s school in the name of teaching them how to be a good wife. I definitely need to go to the beginning of this series and check it out.
A good story with a great lesson. The overall story was good I just had a bit of trouble getting into it. The moral was great and is well shown throughout the story.
This is a story that is dear to most women’s hearts. Lots of people say women we haven’t come very far we still have so much against us. To some extent this is true but it depends on if you look at the glass half full or half empty. I choose to take my half full glass and run with it. It’s story about growth not only for women but men as well. Yes both still get abused but it isn’t as bad as it once was. Now you do have a choice back than you didn’t. I loved watching Sarah and Ian grow learning more about the other and just what all was going on. Sarah slowly learned to trust him and also learn that not all men are abusive and demanding that there are true gentlemen who know how to treat a woman.
My mind just doesn’t wrap around a school teaching nothing but how to please a man putting his needs first and for most. The author gives a vivid detail story on this issue about one woman who has no desire to be a wife, her life hasn’t been easy and the man who showed her how different marriage could be. Sarah is sent to a school, so she can learn how things should be, since she doesn’t want to be a wife she isn’t very easily taught which makes the Dean very unhappy. He sends her to Ian to learn but when he learns how bad these ladies are treated he is determined to make it stop and bring the Dean to justice. He and Sarah work together as they find their way to bring justice to so many their love grows.
It really is a well written story that touches your heart. The author put a lot of thought into it, giving wonderful characters you can relate to. I thought it was a great read and look forward to reading more from this author.
If Professor Ian MacDermot was my teacher, I’d have been valedictorian. Come prepared with a fan and a tall, cool drink as you read this story of a sexual masochist who runs a school for girls and tutors some privately in the most disgusting way. Ian and Sarah with the help of school staff and victims work together to bring this villainous dean to justice. Will he be made to suffer for his misdeeds or will he escape to start over somewhere else? Will Sara be convinced that to submit to your loving husband can bring the most pleasure to both? Enjoyed this fourth installment so much, I am returning to the beginning of the Fall River Ranch Series to get the whole picture. Highly recommended.
This is a different kind of historical romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sarah is a willful student and Ian is her kind-hearted private instructor. What they discover together is foul and vile, and they set out together to right wrongs. I highly recommend this book.
On Loving A Woman by Keriann Mckenna is a love story set in Scotland in 1912. It is a historical romance set in a time when women had no rights as individuals. It is set in a school for young ladies being taught how to run a proper household and tend to their husband demands and how to be a proper wife. Ian is a professor at the school and Sarah is one of his students. Ian has been assigned the duty of individual istruction of Sarah by the Dean as she as refused to take his class seriously as she never intends to marry. As Ian reads the Deans orders for the instruction he realizes that girls are being humiliated and abused by the Dean. When Sarah is given to his care he realizes that he cares for her and would never hurt her in that way. Once I got through the first chapters I totally enjoyed the story of Ian and Sarah’s romance. Sarah was never going to marry or have children after being raped by one of her father’s associates. As Ian showed Sarah that not all men beat their wives or abuse them in that way she opened up to him and told him what happened. As Sarah and Ian find out more about the abuses at the school they are determined to bring the Dean to justice. The historical facts of women’s rights at the time are accurately portrayed by McKenna and you will love Ian and Sarah’s relationship as it progresses. Secondary characters like Henry and Mary keep the book balanced.
