Getting on his knees makes him question everything…and want even more… hands of a man.
Psychiatrist Alex McGarry will play with anyone who craves his rough brand of domination, but what he really wants is to settle down. Which makes the submissive male he meets at his club a bad idea—the man might be hot as hell but he’s also new to everything Alex has to offer. Except that doesn’t keep them from coming together again and again, sating every one of their darkest desires.
Master Alex sets Jamie’s whole world on fire and makes him question everything—and that’s good. Because Alex won’t tolerate hiding what they have for long and he wants much more than just having Jamie on his knees…

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
This is the fourth book in the Blasphemy series and it might just be my favorite so far. Each book is about one of the 12 Masters that make up the owners of the BDSM club. And each finds their true love and their kink. This is Master Alex’s story.
Alex McGarry is a Psychiatrist and loves to dish out pain and dominate any submissive who wants it. But he is about ready to settle down. He is close to 40 and he is tired of being alone when he leaves the club.
Jamie Fielding is a lawyer and finds himself at the end of another failed relationship. He can’t seem to figure out what he is doing wrong. He goes to the one place he knows to take his mind off his troubles, a local tattoo shop. When the artist mentions Jamie liked the pain and called him something, it made Jamie’s blood turn to fire. He asked the artist friend about what he called him. When he told Jamie about the club, Jamie was even more interested. He had to learn more about what he was feeling.
When Alex meets Jamie, he sees a young man eager to learn about what he is feeling. And he wants to explore it with him and teach him. Jamie can’t believe what he is feeling towards Master Alex. And he wants more.
Can Alex give Jamie what he needs? Will Jamie be able to go all in with Alex? Will the two be able to share their life together and have a future?
I loved everything, well almost everything about this story. You will see when you read it. Alex and Jamie are perfect for each other and it shows on every page. This is a quick read and you will not want to put it down once you start reading. I do recommend you read the others stories too, they are worth it. I hope you love this series as much as I do.
**Wicked Reads Review Team**
What a love story! A fantastic book. Honestly, I read it and immediately re-read it. The hardest part about living is finding our true selves and embracing who we are. Next is finding someone who loves us the same, unconditionally.
Jamie is so brave, inspiring, and heroic. Alex is a little wounded and disillusioned. Resigned to never having that all consuming love. Until he finds Jamie.
Loved this story. Thank you Laura Kaye!
I have to be upfront with you that I was doing a happy dance from the moment I got this book. There’s a love affair going on between the author, the series, and me. Another series I loved makes a small appearance here as well which just made me doubly happy.
Jamie Fielding is frustrated with himself. It’s as if something is just out of his reach but he just doesn’t know what it is yet. He’s on a trip of self-discovery. Alex McGarry is an expert in what he does. He’s also at an age where he’s trying to put his life into perspective.
I haven’t been able to get my tattoo fix since a certain cable company took away my channel. This makes me wish I could go to Hard Ink, a previous series, and just sit and watch. Can you imagine making Hard Ink being a tourist destination? I wonder if I would see any members from Blasphemy there? That would be a visual experience that you don’t get when reading about someone getting a tattoo.
There’s no prejudice allowed here. These characters are people and they don’t need a label placed on their happiness just because it may not be yours or someone else’s. If you’ve never read this series, I would start at the beginning just so you can decide if this is a series that you want to follow. Maybe you’ve read some of Ms. Kaye’s work before. If so, you are very familiar with her writing style and she won’t disappoint you. The Epilogue is short but it’s a true happy ending. And I got happier when I found that there’s going to be a book five – my legs are going to get tired from all my happy dancing.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Holy Crap! This book was sooooo good! This was my first book by Laura Kaye! I haven’t read many gay romances but this one sucked me from the blurb. I absolutely love Jamie and Alex. The stark contrast of Jamie’s need to submit and Alex’s need to dominate is palpable in their scenes. Jamie is so open and willing to be whatever he needs to be discover the submissive that he is. Alex is a little more jaded and hardened but can’t seem to get away from the pull Jamie has on him. Will they be able to find a balance with Jamie being so new and Alex being so experienced! 5 stars all around!
I see you shiver with Antici…….pation!
Attorney Jaime Fielding is at a crossroads. He’s been involved in relationships that were unfilling and went nowhere. These relationships sends him to the sex club ”Blasphemy” to challenge his personal journey of self and sexual discovery. There he meets Alex Mcgarry. He is the number one dominate ”Master” of the club and a sadist. Alex is drawn to Jamie immediately. However, Alex hesitates to take on Jamie who is a beginner to domination, masochism and is confused about his sexuality. However, Alex finds there is something about Jamie, Alex can not resist. This is my first M/M BDSM romance. Don’t judge me! Lol. I bought this thinking what the hell. I’ll broaden my horizon so too speak. Lol. Get out of my comfort zone. I really liked it. Behind all the graphic sex scenes there is a romance that blossoms between Alex and Jamie that I really loved. My only complaint is that it’s too short. I would have preferred more background on Alex. Also a few more chapters. This is the first book I’ve read by Laura Kaye and will not be last. I want to read them all now. So, if you want to read a sinfully erotic story with a little romance thrown in? This is the book to read this weekend. I highly recommend it. Lol. I bought this E-book and did not get it from my usual ARC outlets.
On His Knees is a short visit to the Blasphemy world. Master Alex finally meets his match in a place he never expected. I haven’t read all of this series (I don’t read a lot of erotica), but those that I’ve read I’ve enjoyed and this was no exception. Kaye’s masterful storytelling shines through as Alex and Jaime work their way to the HEA.
I received a copy of this book from the author.
The Blasphemy series is one of my favorites to read. Laura Kaye has written about all types of BDSM Masters through this series. This particular novel is a male male romance. The focus in is on Master Alex and a newcomer to the club: Jaime.
Though both have very stressful jobs Alex craves the release only he as a sadist can perform. Lucky for Jamie his masochist self can have all his fantasies come true. Once these two are introduced you can just “see” the sparks fly.
They have a bump or two in their story but who doesn’t right? I think you will enjoy reading this novella. Even if you’re not sure of the m/m romance – it’s written tastefully and you might even think it’s a little hot, too! This is a quick read and if you’re a fan of BDSM there’s several elements included in this story.
Wow I don’t know how to describe how this book made me feel. Laura Kaye has masterfully written one of the most romantically erotic stories ever. The emotions are so close to the surface that you feel then in your soul. Kaye’s Blasphemy Series always blinds me with its honest assessment of how relationships should work. Alex the sadist and Jamie the masochist must work through all of their trust and past relationship issues to come together. This book is an emotional rollercoaster ride of self doubt, self growth and healing love. Character development is phenomenal you will immediately connect with both of the main characters in all ways. You want both men to get what they need and deserve. Fantastic job Laura Kaye!
Another great addition to the Blasphemy series by Laura Kaye!!
Jamie is no good with relationships, he just can’t figure out what is wrong with him, he’s missing something, but what he’s not sure. A good friend recommends he try the Blasphemy club, a private BDSM club, to see if this helps. He goes away and does some research, thinking he may be bisexual and needing some pain. He gets a 2 week trial at Blasphemy to see if he can find what’s missing.
Alex is one of the 12 Masters at Blasphemy, and is well known for his ‘rough’ playing, dominating his subs. But at nearly 40 he’s looking for more, looking to settle down, but finding the right person has proved to be a challenge.
He does Jamie’s induction to the Club, and their attraction is immediate and intense. But is this really a good move, Jamie being so new to the scene and his new found desires, whilst Alex is looking for nothing more than a lifelong partner, but one who fits with him and his ways?!
A brilliant read, full of feels and emotions. Its a beautiful, heartbreaking and breathtaking. Of course the sex scenes are hot as hell, but its more than that, its the emotional journey they go through. The way Jamie felt after his hiccup and the way he just had to shown contrition really got to me.
Its a fast read, and the story happens over a very short length of time, but there is a lot in here for that short timescale. Well worth the read.
I will start out by saying that even though this is the fourth book in the Blasphemy Series it can be read as a standalone which is exactly what I did. That being said I enjoyed this book so much I have added the entire series to my TBR Shelf and plan on getting to each of them soon.
Lets say your about to turn thirty and every relationship you have had never left you feeling fulfilled, you always felt as if something was missing but you didn’t know what. So said relationships never really lasted long, What would you do? Well Jamie seeks out his friend/tattoo artist and adds to his every growing body art to give him the sense of peace and clarity when his friend mentions that he thinks Jamie is a masochist. Could it be that you lived almost thirty years and never figured that out about yourself? Well of course it possible, we are mostly raised to think and be a certain way so why would you even contemplate something that you have no real knowledge of.
I absolutely loved the fact that Jamie didn’t just take his buddy’s word for it and he went and did his own research and along with the introduction to club Blasphemy (which was set up by his friend) Jamie was introduced to things that he never even considered and not only was he turned on by this turn of events he opens himself up like he has never done before.
Master Alex was nearing forty and fed up with submissives that claim to like his type of kink only to have them safeword in the middle of a scene. I can understand his frustration but maybe he was just buying time until the right one came along……
The attraction between Jamie and Alex was instant and the chemistry was great but this story was more than just two people finding one another, it was about self awareness and the journey of accepting whom you truly are. I think Laura Kaye did an amazing job with Jamie’s journey into self discovery and once he opened himself up to the possibilities and what that truly represented for him and only then would he be able to find the person he was meant to spend his life with.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
I haven’t read many BDSM stories where the characters’ kink and sexual lifestyle focuses on sadism and/or masochism, so in a way, as Jamie Fielding was being introduced to the fetish community of Blasphemy, particularly those Masters who get off on their submissives’ pain and how much they can make ‘it hurt so good’ for the subs in their care,’ Master Alex’s teachings also opened my eyes to the sexual gratification that can be found in physical pain and degradation, and while I can say I am wholeheartedly not a sadist or a masochist, Alex and Jamie’s story not only educated me about an aspect of BDSM that I didn’t have much insight in, but it also illustrated how discovering what a person wants and needs as well as finding where he belongs is worth all of the past disconnects and broken relationships experienced.
Blasphemy is quite the sexual playground, and what I love most about Laura Kaye’s series is that she presents all different types of kink that occurs in the club and what the people involved in those varying sexual lifestyles find necessary and freeing about them. And while my knowledge of BDSM is based on fictional stories and characters, it’s clear that this world of non-vanilla sex allows people to feel liberated and at home in their own body because the various types of kink allow them the release and the connection that they can only find when they are with like-minded sexual beings.
The BDSM’s lifestyle carters to those who desire to move beyond vanilla sex and find their sexual niche, for lack of a better term, and in On His Knees, Jamie and Alex’s story teaches readers and the characters themselves that no one’s judgment or negative reactions should deter people from accepting who they are and what they need and based on how Jamie reacts to the sexual journey that Master Alex takes him on as well as the ideas Jamie discovers about himself just by being in an environment that fits every part of him, there is no denying how essential and life-changing Alex and Jamie’s connection is for both of them, and when it comes down to it, a person’s life is his own and the path he travels is up to his wants and his needs, NOONE ELSE should matter.
I can’t review On His Knees without mentioning how wrecked the last part of the book had me…I don’t want to spoil anything for readers but I don’t think I’ve ever cried as hard as I did when Jamie lays himself bare and kneels for his Master in a show of contrition. Jamie’s actions/words really did a number on my heart because Laura Kaye captured the emotional upheaval Jamie was experiencing and the steps he took to make things right in such a way that I could feel Jamie’s anguish and devastation and I wanted and needed him to be healed, in a way, that would never bring him that kind of pain again.
4.5 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)
The chemistry between Alex and Jamie is electrifying. Alex has become weary, dissatisfied witb his life. He wants to find someone who meets his sadistic needs. Jamie finally realizes what’s been missing from life and relationships. He sets out to find it at Blasphemy. Alex, at first, keeps Jamie at arm’s length but finally realizes he really feels something for this man. They discover how much their kinks align and begin an intense 6 days of discovering each other. Their first outing in public as a couple ends up costing both of them lost time with each other because of Jamie’s insecurities and Alex’s lack of understanding. Jamie sets out to show his contrition while Alex basically ignores him. Finally understanding and forgiveness is given by both parties and they declare their love for one another.
I was anxiously awaiting this story.
Alex is one of the Masters at Blashemy and has catered both men and women alike, However he has never found that one to fulfill him as his friends have. He longs for it so much that it’ taking a toll on him.
Jamie has no idea why he can’t seem to enjoy being with a woman, and it has now costed him another relationship. He sets out to get a tat at Jeremys place and after a soul searching talk thinks he has figured out what is going on with himself.
Blasphemy has brought good luck to 10 of the 12 owners will it again?
Read your copy and find out. I truly enjoyed this story… Loved it…
“You are my weakness. You are my strength.”
BEST OF THE SERIES! God, I absolutely LOVE this series! Laura Kaye has done it again! She has brought ME to my knees with her latest installment in the ever-so-SEXY Blasphemy Series! ON HIS KNEES tells the story of self-discovery, acceptance, and forgiveness. From the very moment Jamie and Alex locked eyes, SPARKS FLEW and I was a complete goner! Emotional from start to finish, I wanted to absorb every single word, every single chapter, every single moment between these two characters. My heart ached and burst for these two and I wanted to crawl through the pages of the book and give them both big hugs and kisses and tell them it’s all going to be okay.
The absolute rawness that shown through the pages set my soul on fire! Even though Jamie and Alex’s story brought on a constant ache in my chest, that doesn’t mean I didn’t love the hell out of that feeling. For an author to bring me to the very top and then to the very bottom, only to fill my heart with so much pride and joy by the end, speaks volumes for that author’s talent. And Laura Kaye has it in spades! She NEVER disappoints, constantly bringing us characters that are almost impossible not to fall in love with!
It was absolutely WONDERFUL to dive back into the Blasphemy world. It was great to catch up with characters that I’m completely invested in. The Blasphemy family is something I will always cherish and NEVER forget! I never want to say goodbye to these characters OR this world. I hope these characters continue to talk Laura’s ears off, giving her no choice but to treat her fans with more of her delicious and emotional writing!
Holy Smoke!
Master Alex, where to start with him. He knows what he wants is to settle down, but will he ever find the right person with the same desires as his? He has watched the other Masters find significant others, so when they all try their hands at matchmaking, it just makes Alex mad.
Jamie has always felt that he wasn’t cut out for relationships. He thought that he was bad at them, because he never could find one that lasted. So, he has a friend get him in at Blasphemy for a 2 week trial. From the moment he meets Master Alex he begins to question things about himself.
Misunderstandings happen and Hearts are broken. These things will break your heart too! Especially, when you see the depths that Jamie is willing to go to make Alex understand things.
Holy Hotness!!!! Uber Ugly cries! Beautiful every lasting love. I just spent the day with the most beautiful love story. I have a new favorite go to book when I need to remember what true love can be.
I have to be honest, I didn’t think this series would be my “cup of tea.” I am happy to say that I was so wrong. The author takes a topic that always made me blush and made it beautiful. This story takes beauty to an all new level.
Master Alex is feeling lost. He is a little out of sorts. The others can see it. He knows something is missing. But what?
Jamie just can’t make a relationship work. His latest tempt at happily ever after has just walked away. His answer is a tattoo. He needs the pain. It is a shame he doesn’t see the complete picture. But have no fear Jeremy does.
Walking through the doors of Blasphemy changes everything. Under the care of Master Alex, Jamie accepts.
Walk through the door with Jamie and discover love. It won’t be easy. There will be mistakes. Devotion needs to be shown and accepted. True love is worth everything.
Laura Kaye has knocked this book out of the park. Alex and Jamie have a chemistry that is hotter than a volcano. I’m definitely loving this series and can’t wait for more from the Blasphemy series
Learning who you are, accepting who you are, giving yourself into the care of another. All major decisions requiring trust.
Jamie has a heart of gold and an eagerness to please. He’s finally got things figured out and he’s opened himself up wide. He gives so freely and it’s absolutely beautiful.
Alex is tough, jaded. He’s not going for a newbie. Until he does. The firsts this man gives him slay him.
The passion, the tenderness and care. And yes, the love. It’s palpable and beautiful and totally hot !
But it’s an uphill battle and mistakes are made. My heart literally broke. Tears!! So much heartbreak and guilt. My gut is still all twisted up over Jamie and Alex. But that last chapter.
On His Knees is another great story in the Blasphemy series. I am loving this series!! (And I loved Alex and Jamie so much I read it twice!!)
4.5 stars– ON HIS KNEES is the fourth instalment in Laura Kaye’s contemporary, adult BLASPHEMY erotic, BDSM, romance series focusing on the twelve Masters who own, work and play at the BDSM club Blasphemy. This is forty-year old psychiatrist and Master Alex McGarry, and thirty-year old attorney/submissive Jamie Fielding’s story line. ON HIS KNEES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the authors HARD INK series with the cameo appearances of tattoo artist Jeremy Rixey and his fiancé Charlie Merritt.
NOTE: ON HIS KNEES is a M/M story line with sexually graphic language and text including strikingly detailed, sadistic and masochistic sexual scenarios that may not be suited for all readers.
Told from dual third person points of view (Jamie and Alex) ON HIS KNEES follows the building relationship between Blasphemy Master Alex McGarry, and submissive Jamie Fielding. Jamie continues to struggle to find that special someone in his life but it is not until his most recent tattoo session that a light-bulb moment blew up his mind. Perhaps Jamie’s interests lie elsewhere with the realization that pain and humiliation are what it takes for our hero to get excited both in and out of the bedroom. With a recommendation by tattoo artist Jeremy Rixey, Jamie ventures into the world of BDSM and Club Blasphemy-a world he previously knew nothing about. Enter Master Alex McGarry, a stubborn, strong but independent man looking for someone as well. What ensues is the building relationship between Alex and Jamie, and the fall-out when Jamie is unable to accept all that he is and has become.
The D/s relationship between Jamie and Alex is quick to develop. From thinking himself a heterosexual male to becoming a masochistic, sexually fluid (aka bi-sexual) submissive took but a matter of hours, and in this I struggled with Jamie’s rapid acceptance of the lifestyle and relationship in which he was about to enter. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense; the S/M scenes are graphic, detailed and carnal. Jamie’s need to submit is heart breaking and sad. I commend the author on the strength of the writing as it pertains to Jamie’s needs and wants.
ON HIS KNEES is an impassioned and decadent story line of self-discovery. The premise is palpable; the characters are energetic and fierce; the romance is intimate and edgy. ON HIS KNEES is an enthusiastic tale about trust and acceptance, and two people who found what they had been missing.
